Dominic Zamprogna Confirms He Is Done At GH

Another General Hospital favorite has left the building.  After much speculation and rumors, it has been confirmed on Thursday afternoon by Dominic Zamprogna that he has left the ABC daytime drama series, and his role of nine years; that of Dante Falconeri.

In a tweet, Dominic shared: “So you’ve been asking. I feel I owe it to you awesome fans to tell you that I’ve taped my final scenes. Going to miss you all and my GH fam. Good things happening tho. More to come ..”

Zamprogna actually had taped his final scenes last month in May.

The character of Dante came on to GH, and it was revealed that he was the biological son of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero).

Benard posted a touching photo from on set of himself and Zamprogna on his Instagram account stating: “Always very sad for me when great actors and great friends leave the show Dom was definitely at the top of that list was always looking forward to working with him didn’t happen enough.”

Dominic’s on-screen lady love Emme Rylan (Lulu) shared these thoughts on Twitter:  “I am utterly heartbroken to see you go but also very excited to watch what is coming next for you. I believe in you! Go get em!”

So, are you sad to hear that Dominic has left GH?  What do you think will happen to the character of Dante? Share your thoughts on his departure in the comment section below.

Wow, sad can’t believe it!

Tough shoes to fill, but given the right actor GH could recast. That would be terrible though considering the fact that he quit because they wouldn’t give him a storyline. I just can’t imagine Lulu with anyone else! Meanwhile, Days should hire Dom! How about as Jeremy Horton? We need more Hortons!

No!

I’ve never been a particular fan of his character and I feel as if he was under used. Perhaps if they had written more for his character, I might have taken more of a liking to Dante. I’m sorry to see Dominic leave but am wishing him continued success

I couldn’t have said it better. Hoping it’s a re-cast situation, and that it leads to a more interesting characterization.

One can only stay on the back burner for so long. DZ is a good actor, but got the John York treatment of usually only being seen in cop scenes these past few years.

As Rylan signed a new deal last year, it’s unlikely the two leave together. Having killed off Nathan recently, highly unlikely they kill another cop. Recast the role with a recurring actor, unless the writers can come up with long range story options.

Good luck to DZ. This was probably a good thing for him, career-wise

Such potential! He should have been having more airtime than most of the insta-characters. Get him over to Young & Restless pronto!

Love interest for Victoria? I could see that.

Miguel’s never-before mentioned son. Nikki and Miguels illegimate son!(insert laughs).

Hope they don’t kill his character off… too many deaths … just recast!

Sorry to see him go – but I agree with many of the comments – recast the role.
I don’t think we could go through another cop death…still missing Nathan(and Ryan Paevey).

Benard said-
”Dom was definitely at the top of that list was always looking forward to working with him didn’t happen enough.”

That ^^^ was the problem, not enough of Dante.
Dominic/Dante was ‘wasted’..
A talent wasted, rarely used.

It is a good move for Dominic to get out before he is too old to move on.
He should have pulled out years ago when he was being wasted as just being there.
He himself wasted way too many years as a backburn on GH..
I wish him a great future and hope to see him again on screen/ a great talent.

I’m not sure he wasted those years, su. I don’t think he was on contract (could be wrong) but I think he was free to do other work. He wasn’t on every day so I don’t know if that was the problem.

I do agree, however, that he was wasted on the show. He’s such a good actor. Authentic. He did say, though, that good things were happening so I have a feeling he might be getting another show or a film.

hi rebecca..
I don’t recall ever seeing Dante in a story about him.
Then again I haven’t been watching during past decades, but since I tuned in Dante has always been in the background.

Hey su000, Dante’s been a character since 2009; not before that. So, I’m not sure how long you’ve been watching. He was definitely more front and center when he first arrived; Sonny didn’t know he was his son, his romance with Lulu was great (that was when Julie Marie Berman played Lulu; they were great together. Not sure if you have any interest or curiosity but if you do you can google their marriage or some of their scenes if you weren’t watching then.) Gettin’ kinda nostalgic… 🙂

They really dropped the ball with his character and with the actor. He really deserved more story as I said above. Interested to see where he lands next and I’ll miss him but I do think they should recast at some point.

Hi rebecca..
No, I was not watching in 09 ..
06-09 tv wasn’t readily available where I was during that time..
But I like Dante, too sad he was never an upfront character I’d have liked to see him a story of his own..
I have tolerated Lulu so hope she leaves LOL ..

Probably one of his best SLs was his affair/indescrection with Valerie,Lulu’s cousin.

I still think Lulu and Curtis should get together! Can’t abide him with Jordan…and neither can Aunt Stella!

That’s just messed up I don’t know what is going on with this show but I will miss his character please don’t kill him off let him get his job back with the FBI but please take lulu with you.

If they find the right recast, things could work out.
Remember,Dom started with Julie Berman as Lulu &adjusted well to Emme Rylan.
However, the recast will have to be satisfied with not being front&center.

I hope he leaves to go find Nathan/Morgan either one contacted him! I can’t take another death or he needs an 8n if he wants back in..

Nicholas, Lucky, Morgan, Dante, Coleman, Dillon, AJ, etc…
Micheal Muhney????????

I doubt Muhney will ever be seen daytime again. As for the characters you mention, he’s not dark enough for Nikolas, too old for Morgan and Dillon. If Lucky ever comes back, it will be Jonathan Jackson. AJ is permanently dead and Coleman was just a day player.

I am hoping with Nashville ending, that J.J will come back to G.H

Muhney would work as Nicholas.

What a huge loss–this guy can act and he’s unique, not just a cookie cutter perfect, male model type. Well, I guess they have to make room for all the recovering villains and their redemption stories–Nina, Franco, Ava, Valentin and Parking Lot Peter. Give me the good old days when bad guys had the decency to stay bad.

Can’t win with you, Harr…;) If, let’s say Franco, stayed bad, you’d STILL hate him Same with Nina. Wait! Same with Valentin,
Ava and Peter!

But Rebecca, it would be fun to hate Franco if he stayed bad. It’s the redemption stories which are somnolent, tedious bores. And I don’t hate Franco since they declawed him–he just bores me now. Same with Nina. But I never expressed dislike of Ava, and in fact, sung Maura West’s praises right here in this forum. GH used to have the best villains–no more. Remember when it was said that Helena was deathly afraid of Valentin? In the dark recesses of your imagination you visualized a sinister and dark force of nature. Instead, we get a man who speaks sweet French to his daughter while feeding her ice cream cones and who shudders and stutters when he sees Robert Scorpio.

I hear you, Harr. But, fear not. We still have the greatest evil of them all…Carly!

:/

That’s just it, Rebecca! Carly is played like a heroine–even when she is committing atrocious acts. She’s not a pure villain which I think is what drives me nuts about her. Are we really supposed to feel sorry for her? And there’s Jason, her biggest enabler who supports her no matter what. I remember when Carly (then played by Sara Brown) attacked Robin for having HIV, who was then Jason’s great love. Jason still stood by Carly. Jason is Sonny and Carly’s ultimate enabler. I wish he would just get away from those two destructive, self absorbed people. They ruin everything and everybody–they are, as Gatsby described Tom and Daisy Buchanan, “reckless people” who go around smashing other people’s lives.

Haha; I know, Harry. I agree. The problem is Carly is put on a pedestal by the fictional people in her lives and by her fans; she seems to be able to do no wrong whether it’s attempting to kill someone (Tony, Franco), sleep with her mother’s husband, cover up AJs murder, manipulate, lie, snarl, sneer, snark, control, manipulate, judge…her self-righteousness, her attitude toward Monica.. her die hard fans are appalled that she’s been falsely accused and justice must be served pronto! LOL; there’s GH hysteria over this.

Her fans do feel sorry for her; as if she was as pure as “Sparkle Pony.” Ahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You KNOW I never used that descriptive for our dearly departed Sabrina but I was feeling “rebellious” lolololo…but you get my drift? Carly’s as far away from innocence as Nell is from sanity.

Jason? He lost his mind a long time ago. He has no direction without Carly and Sonny pointing the way.

Hey Rebecca! I just noticed your comments here. You have perfectly nailed the character of Carly, and I am in complete agreement. With you on Jason, too. Best to you!

Now where is that thumbs up when you need it! (Kidding, Michael F. Thumbs up to YOU for getting rid of those pesky digits!) 😉

Hi James! The Carly fans are in mourning;devastation rules until their heroine is proclaimed innocent and let loose on the Port Charles innocent victims of her unrelenting…oh, wait…I digress.

LOL; hope you’re enjoying your weekend!

Harry and others…I’ve been watching GH for a long time. But I don’t know why Carly and Jason aren’t together as a couple as opposed to best friends. Can anyone help me out here?

Hey, Rose. Don’t remember. Not sure if Jason saw “Caroline” in that way or if he was in love with Robin at the time…I think they slept together but then a relationship didn’t follow.

I’ve been enjoying Steve Burton and Finola Hughes – working – together… it’s the most grown up I’ve ever seen “Jason ” ? AND it’s certainly a nice distraction to see Anna and Jason… as opposed to seeing her with, Finn and Heinrick…. dag ! are the latter two D – U – L – L

woah…

anyway… would @GH consider seeing Jason team up with Anna ? seems like a good fit to me… argh! it’s so mind numbing ; for instance , watching Sam and Curtis super sleuthing… DANG IT .. why can’t Windemere.. get security !!!!! makes this show that much dumbed down. come on ! Nina and Valentin don’t know any better? what is it? “Ashford and McColl ” okey dokey… our little Nancy Drew.. has to do something… by all appearances… even Steve Burton isn’t fighting to romance her. WHEW

@Harry……Sounds like they need to make more room for Frank’s ever-expanding pet shop of horrible newbies, because God forbid GH actually features legacy characters for whom we care! Noooo….just continue to bring on more unemployed former soap actors, whether found in supermarkets, parking lots, wherever….. Those of us who prefer the familiar faces of Port Charles be damned!

As the youngsters say, right? However, I have heard a delightful rumor. Ryan, Kevin’s psychotic twin brother might be making a comeback. I think Jon Lindstrom is a brilliant actor and a wasted resource. When Dr Collins walked into Carly’s room, I initially thought it was Kevin, who was an inmate and impersonating a doctor. Yes, I know he perished in a fire at the funhouse, but you you know deaths go on soaps–they’re not as certain as taxes. I love this idea–he might come back as Kevin’s spit personality. Either way, bring it on. To those of you who have not seen JL playing both Kevin and Ryan in the same time, do check him out on Youtube. It really is a thing of beauty.

Harry
How could they possibly do that storyline without Laura? Since he’s not on contract, I’d be surprised they make him the center of a storyline.

They do this stupid **** all of the time. Take Monica for example. Leslie Charlesown (sp) is out on medical leave. All of the sudden, we see Monica more than ever, with Patty McCormack filling in.

Depending on the time of year, the show airs 4-7 weeks after taping. It is usually written 3 months out on top of that. Minor tweaks can be made, but story needs to flow. Monica played heavily into Nelle’s storyline, Kiki’s claims against Bensch and had to be the one to offer Drew to move to the mansion.

Now, if McCormack utters “it’s my house” that’s another story.

I’ve always loved the character, Kevin, (and Jon Linstrom) and I think the character was wasted being hitched to Laura. They reduced him to a step-grandfather walking around the park and drinking coffee at Kelly’s babysitting Spencer.

He aged (psychologically) before my eyes. Now, he’s back! If they bring “Laura” back I hope they don’t destroy what they (the writers) have rebuilt with Kevin.

I’m not sure where they’re taking Kevin, Harry. Like you, some think Jon’s playing a dual role (twin brother) and/or something is up with him. Regardless; I love Jon/aka Kevin and am so glad he’s more central to stories. I’ve missed him and as Laura’s husband he was inconsequential/boring. Contrary to most, I don’t like the pairing. (I did at first but being with Laura just made Kevin less dynamic to me.)

Agreed, Shay. I haven’t watched at all this week. I almost sat down to watch, but, I didn’t want to tune-in to the “Peter Show.” No thank you. Also, I don’t “do” snakes. Disgusting. Not what I want to see when I go home for lunch or later on in the evening. The show is in the toilet.

He was the reason I started watching General Hospital again and also the lack of story line for Dante and Lulu is why I’m not as interested anymore. Dominic Zamprogna is so talented and GH wasted his talent the last two years. What a shame. Good luck to him and whatever he does he will be great. This is General Hospitals lost.

Sad to see him go. Great actor, great eye candy, way under used! We are losing too many good ones and keeping mediocre people. Not a good move GH!

Dante n Lulu should leave town together I Need a lulu break. If not then obviously they will recast because Dante gotta be there with everything his family is going through. Now did Dominic quit to pursue work out of daytime? Or did he quit because gh wasn’t willing to give him more airtime? Or free time or whatever he was seeking out? Would hate to see him join another soap that would be infuriating especially since gh continues to hire other soap actors from the other shows.

hi Aria..
Yes!! he should take Lulu with him.
I can hardly tolerate her (she needs to go)

0ohh, All the soaps hire actors from other soaps, it is what is done but I doubt Dominic will go into another soap 🙁

Yes, if Dante has to go, let Lulu-hoop go with him. Let them hula hoop happily into the sunset. I never accepted this recast as the product of the ethereal Laura and the larger-than-life Luke.

They never really did anything with the character of Dante…which is surprising to me since GH is mostly the Sonny/Carly hour. A lot of wasted opportunity with this character.

If they send off the character, they’ll actually be more Quartermaine offspring than Corinthos in PC.

send him to the wsb.

He was a pointless character with little or no storyline for years. Won’t miss him. Is his wife next (another pointless one)?

Sounds like Lulu is going to be needing her mom now. Bring Laura back!

She needs her brother too, so bring Lucky back. Which also keeps them from bringing on another useless newbie to fill the cop role (like they did when Nathan died) and immediately give that newbie all kinds of convoluted backstories and a ridiculous lip-syncing “performance” at the Nurses Ball.

Chase can walk the walk, dance the dance and lip-sync or not all over my TV. Don’t be tryin’ to “chase” him outta town!

I am done with GH. A watcher for decades I don’t recognize this show anymore. Dante and Lante were my all time favorites but they were barely seen in favor of newbies. The PTB squandered the best talent and one of most popular actors they had in Dominic. For me no one could fill his shoes, Dom IS Dante. It breaks my heart that we never got to see him get the material that he deserved the last few years, but I have no doubt that Dom will do great things in the future and I will be watching.

Janeway (homage to Captain Janeway StarTrek?)…Like you I don’t recognize GH much anymore. Oh I’m still keeping up on the day-to-day but I am less and less invested in it. Partly because of actors/characters here today, gone tomorrow. And where is Genie? But mainly because of the meanness and ugliness of the stories, one after another starting with Fluke. And guns, knives and bats “Oh My”…too much of that in our daily news…certainly not “love in the afternoon.” I usually like Dr. O, but not the brutality she has shown towards Peter August, especially the bat scene, along with Nina’s complicity. Or the recent Jim Harvey/Franco/Drew story. And while I’m not a Carly fan, Nelle trying to make her go crazy. Still have the image of Julian with a knife at Alexis’s throat. Let us not forget the never ending Morgan story. Now we get ready for Jason saving Carly in that awful mental asylum which should be shutdown, and Kiki against Dr. B. No wonder the GH ratings are down.

Hi Rose. Lisel is a cartoon character. She should have been one and done! What she did to Anna in regard to Robin was enough! They kept Lisel around after that and even made her chief of staff which was a joke! I understand she is upset with Nathan being dead but her over the top actions prove that she is a joke and I am not laughing anymore!

I roared… when Leisl “batting a 1000” hoping this @Misery ala Kathy Bates was going to be the zinger the audience hoped for…. I would have bashed his knee caps. as he’s “begging” Nina for help… “it hurts” “it hurts” WE ALL are just that ready to put Wes Ramsey’ FAKE Heinrick OUT OF – our – Misery. PLEASE Nina for the love of a good story… do not flake out on us.. because you’re thinking of ditz Maxie. I dare not tread too far.. it’d be fun to imagine Nina and Leisl figuring a way out of this yet still “damaging” Peter August . pretty soon he’ll be crying out for his mommy.

The only things missing were Liesl calling Heinrik “Mr. Man” and noting some “appreciation” would not go amiss! Lol…But seriously, I was so looking forward to Dr. O’s tour de force return with this storyline and having Nina being part of it totally killed the joy for me…Britt is the one who should have been her “mutter’s” accomplice!!! (Bring her back!)

If Britt was to return…i will continue to watch!!! finally see the edit button but it should be on there when you first post!!!

Au Contraire, mon ami Patrick! I love Peter and there are many who are also rooting for this emotionally battered cutie!

Timmm, Patrick and probably Harry…OMGoodness…I think Rebecaa and I are the only ones who like Peter/Wes. More like Anna, and he’s not our son. Misunderstood. On the other hand love Dr.O as a villain. Just like Helena. You always need a few of them with their own flair and brand of evil. Just don’t want her to use baseball bats. Especially visually.

Rose, I am also a Peter/Wes lover from back to GL.As far as crying for his mommy, growing up with that horrible old man for a father and Valentin’s “help”, I am surprised he turned out as well, as he did. I think Patrick and others are being too hard on him.

Part of the problem is Peter is a lackluster But I did roar with ribald laughter when she shrieked upon seeing the rattlesnake. He’s a good screamer, I will give him that.

Did you write “she” shrieked, on purpose, Harry? LOL; who WOULDN’T? Haha; I can just see Sonny tied to the same bed as the rattle snaked his way toward him. He’d be shrieking, “JASON!!!!!”

Rose…Well, I’m certainly a card-carrying member of the anti-Peter Parking Lot brigade! And the fact that he is Anna’s son makes him even more unlikable to me because she deserves so much better in an offspring! As for Obrecht, I’ve always loved that freaky femme…she’s a laugh riot, whether wielding a hypodermic needle, knife, ball bat, whatever! She’s such an exaggerated, campy character that one cannot take her form of violence seriously, but Katheen Gati just plays her to the comedic hilt! The only downside in her return for me has been her sharing too many scenes with Nina….I much prefer Liesl as a “lone wolf psychopath!” By the way, I replied to your previous post of some weeks ago to me, and it didn’t make it online. I was going to try again, but that was before people were getting notices to responses and I figured that you probably wouldn’t check back that far at this late date. Hopefully, the continuity of this new website will continue to improve…there still seems to be a bit of a disconnect with keeping a dialogue going…too many different GH threads in my opinion….no chance to really create those detailed discussions of old and interact in the same manner. But things are getting better….slowly, but surely! Hope all is well with you…Later!

Hi Shay…I would rather have had Griffin as Anna’s long lost son with Duke. But I can handle Peter/Wes. Just wish he had been written into the story differently. And wish they would make Valantin more Cassadine. In a way I can relate to Anna not being the typical Anna we all remember with Robert. Seems as I get older there are times I see the past I thought I had buried come back to intrude on my present. But Anna will make a comeback, and I’m trying.
As for Dr O/Kathleen…I really like her. But not the bat. Maybe it’s because I really like baseball and don’t like to see the bat used so effectively by Dr. O as a weapon. And maybe because a member of my family was accidently in the wrong section of Oakland visiting her cousin, got brutalized by a gang, and had to spend time in the hospital. If I disliked violence before, I really dislike it now,,,especially in my “drop-out-of-the- real-world” soaps. And like you I am trying to negotiate the new MF TV site. Prefer the older version. Sorry Michael.

LOL, Michael Fairman! I’m not sure we want the same “intense battles” as we did before! Perhaps “engaging interactions and discussions” would be a more “fun” way to go.

Perhaps you need some ambiance in the background…a “cafe” feel on the pages. We’re all blinded by the light! 😉

To the persistent “thumbs down” person (s). Know who you are. So you give a “thumbs down” because you LIKE/WANT intense battles? Why else would you give a thumbs down to a comment about NOT WANTING “intense battles?” And guess what? You’re starting them all over again with your continuous need to thumb down everything I write. Cure for cancer? Thumbs down. Mature.

Hey there, rebecca1! Let me give you an unequivocal (and nonanonymous) thumbs up! I recently (1-2 weeks ago) posted a comment lamenting “thumbs down” in general as well as “thumbs down” given specifically to you and me when we were simply exchanging pleasantries and making benevolent points (not sure which thread). I say “THUMBS DOWN” on that feature! It only causes ill will — and it’s expressly intended to do so… Maybe “thumbs up” aren’t needed either because you can’t really ascertain actual numbers, given the possibility that some might be negated by “thumbs down.”

There are moments in our lives when there is a realization of how fragile and important life is. No one needs any additional stress, darkness, or ugliness. I wish for more positive, life-affirming repartee here and elsewhere. Best to you, Friend! 🙂

Hi Jamesj75. Thanks so much. Glad to know there are truly nice, stable people here and “out there” in this crazy world. LOL; crazy in the microcosm of the soap world and in the macrocosm (world at large). I have my thoughts on why animosity has been a constant here and allowed. I think you missed the days-on-end attacks that happened sporadically for two years; about a year apart with “digs” a constant. The height of immaturity and antagonism all dating back to defending actors and standing up to sexism/ageism.

As agreed, the thumbs down doesn’t work on this site because of a few who use it for the wrong reasons. As you noticed, there was no reason to give a thumbs down to our pleasant exchange; it was just done maliciously and continues. A shame that a new site carries with it the same posters who feel half the fun is targeting “the enemy.” I was going to ignore it but the bigger point is, why should it be allowed to continue? It was allowed on the former site to a very detrimental, vicious degree. Hoping this will bring attention to the matter and nip it in the bud.

Let’s write a poem! 🙂 Hugs to you!

Hello there, Rebecca! First, I love the poem idea! We need more of them!

Even if I haven’t seen (read) much of it, I think that any animosity here between posters is largely a result of misunderstandings or a difference of opinion gone awry. Who needs these mini-soap operas here within the confines of discussions on soap operas?!?! I agree with you that nipping the problem in the bud would be ideal. But perhaps people can change course on their own, realizing the importance of empathy, patience, and understanding.

At the moment, I am blown away by the thought that people we “meet” here, even though not in person, can truly make our day, make us smile, and make us feel good about ourselves. You (as well as Reed) have done that for me today. And I thank you for that! Hugs to you, too! 🙂

Rebecca1…So agree with you and Harry about the thumbs/down. Not needed. And like you and Harry I have my own reasons why it is allowed.

Hey, Rose. Yep. Just adds to an already negative vibe.

On a more positive note…Outlander and Poldark soon! Lucifer renewed…alak and alas…The Originals cancelled (disappointed on that one.)

Hope all’s well.

Rebecca1…I sure hope Outlander is better this season. I am so glad Lucifer survived. Just haven’t gotten into Poldark. Perhaps if I binge from the beginning since I’ve only tried to watch it mid season. One I have been really impressed by Is the Handmaidens Tale. Wow. But very dark. On a lighter side been catching reruns of Buffy. Loved that show. Looking forward to the newest reboot of the Connor family. Just kidding!!! One piece of bad news today…another majestic male lion was lured out of a protected area, and shot dead by a still anonymous “hunter” for $75,000. As a mainly non-violent person I have really bad thoughts towards theses killers with guns. In this day and age you just have to grab onto the good stories that can still happen everyday. Usually the major networks feature one of them at the end of their news broadcasts since we know if it bleeds that’s what leads. Gotta keep positive.

I agree, Rose. Was so disappointed in last season of Outlander, from Jamie’s marriage to Loghaire (lol; too lazy to look up the spelling) but having not read the book I was shocked and incredibly disappointed. Can’t believe the author wed Jamie to the woman who tried to have Claire burned at the stake; also disappointed in their also lackluster reunion. Fell really flat for me. I miss the magical era that Claire first arrived in…the castles, the intrigue, the continent, the time period. Just an incredible adventure with all its beauty and disturbing violence. Black Jack Randall…wow!

If you have the time do try to watch Poldark in its entirety. Truly worth it in my opinion. Aidan Turner is exquisite.

Never saw The Handmaiden’s Tale but I heard good things. Don’t subscribe to Hulu. But now I have to sign up to Netflix for Lucifer; hope it’s as good as it was on the network.

Ugh. Hadn’t heard about the murder of the lion. Despicable beyond belief that taking life is a “sport.”

Hey Rebecca1! I am so sad to hear that the Originals was canceled, too. Love that show, 🙁

I know; with each passing episode it gets closer to saying goodbye to another mystical, magical world…

Not sure if it was because of ratings or if the leads wanted to pursue other things. I read that Joseph Morgan (Klaus) will be the lead in a new series TV show based on a novel and film Gone Baby Gone. So funny; love him as “Klaus”..wonder if that “love” will translate to him as a mortal. 😉

I always say this: post more! 😉

James, ever the gentleman and compassionate soul. Keep balancing those scales with your humanity and I’ll try to do the same.

Reed, thanks a million for reaching out to me with your kind and generous words. When I falter — and I do — I feel terrible. I will try to live up to your characterization, though. You have my sincere respect and admiration, and I always enjoy reading your posts. Best to you, Friend! 🙂

It’s not about compassion, Reed. No one needs to feel sorry for anyone here. It’s about being civil. Mature. And not finding fun in antagonizing.

James was just calling it as he saw it. What stands out is standing up…instead of jumping on the bandwagon or being afraid of getting hit in the crossfire. None of us should have to try to be a good person; should come naturally.

Reed: Please know that I did give you a thumbs up — it was there — and I understand your thoughtful response to me. Much appreciated!

Lol,James. At least it wasn’t replaced with a thumbs down!

Harry…Totally agree.

Dearest James…Just to clarify, what really is at issue here is whilst Mr. Fairman had the immense courtesy to send me a genial, helpful message and I responded in kind to thank him for his thoughtful advice, a third party felt the urge to unnecessarily interject a typically snarky remark that was completely uncalled for under the circumstances of the conversation at hand. This frequently happened on the previous website and continues on this new one, as well…even though I have long expressed total disinterest in engaging with this individual. It actually occurred with our own correspondence, James, but you never seemed to notice or show any concern for this obvious attempt to drive a wedge between us, despite the fact that we always enjoyed a respectful and cordial dialogue for a number of years. During our lengthy “friendship,” you told me that you were not well-versed on the history of this situation and that you were not going to take sides, which I appreciated. You claimed you would remain neutral and I took you for your word as a gentleman, but alas, it certainly has not appeared that way to me when one demonstrates such effusive praise for somebody who has been extremely nasty to me, not to mention many others here, yet I chose not to call you on it until now. Given you’ve always been so well-mannered and fair-minded in your posts to me, I admit I was both surprised and disappointed that you have more recently seemed to change your attitude on that matter, and I sincerely trust that it’s not down to our aforementioned differences in political philosophies, since that has certainly not dimmed my affection for you…I truly liked the notion that we could civilly discuss such matters here…..At any rate, I have to admit I am more than amused that the very people who clamored for the voting feature in the first place are now the ones complaining about the results. We all get both positive and negative votes, but nobody else has felt the need to grouse about them…Personally, I think it’s a silly aspect to the website, although for the sake of expediency, I do find it handy to give the thumbs up to the many posts that I like when I have limited time to reply to them. Having said that, most of my votes are of the positive variety, and to numerous individuals, at that….Furthermore, not that it’s anyone’s business, but that downvote in question was not mine….even though I heartily concur with it. Considering the countless individuals who have been lambasted by this poster, it amazes me that there were not more…..just the myriad efforts to discredit Timmm, CeeCee and me should be enough to demonstrate the lengths that this person has often gone to spread ill-will and that doesn’t take into account the assorted others who have also been epically bashed on repeated occasions. Maybe you truly are not aware of all of this if you haven’t made a point to keep apprised of everything which has transpired in the past, but there is so much more to this scenario than you seem to know. Regardless, I have wanted to say my piece to you about all of this for a long while, so I hope you will receive this message in the honest spirirt in which it is intended and with the intent that, just as I again do with Reed, we can continue what traditionally has been a very pleasant back-and-forth of thoughts between us. Lastly, perhaps it would be advisable to keep in mind what Marshall McLuhan best said in reference to the actual heart of this discussion: “The medium IS the message!” Enough said….Later, my friend!

Hello Shay! It is sincerely great to hear from you! I really appreciate the obvious time and effort you invested to compose your letter. It took me a while to figure out how to respond, and here’s what I have come up with…

I thank you for the kind words you used to describe me. However, you have also challenged me: my words here and my interactions with others. Do the kind words and the challenge negate each other as a thumbs up versus a thumbs down? No, I accept them both. You’ve presented me with an interesting dilemma: How do I appear sympathetic to you while at the same time appearing sympathetic to someone you deem unworthy of my kindness? For the record, I don’t support anyone being “nasty” to you, just as I don’t support someone being “nasty” to others. Because I extend a compliment or kind word to someone you may not like does not translate into hostility toward you, just as when I extend a compliment or kind word to you, that shouldn’t translate into hostility toward anyone else. Quite frankly, as you know, I like you, just as I like others you have mentioned by name, one person you haven’t mentioned by name, as well as other terrific people here at this site. 🙂

I AM NOT ON MY SOAPBOX, BUT ON A SOAP WEBSITE!

I have tried on occasion, and most recently in my reply to rebecca1, to get people here to forgive and forget, start anew, unite. I’ve made allowances for how these misunderstandings can unfortunately escalate. I’ve made the case for greater empathy, understanding, patience, and good will.

TODAY THE ROLE OF PEACEMAKER WILL BE PLAYED BY JAMESJ75.

I will make one more (final) plea. And just so you know, this is for ALL involved: can we please put an end to these disputes? Please… All that happened in the past isn’t worth rehashing. Who was right and who was wrong aren’t worth revisiting. We’re an opinionated bunch: that’s why we’re here in the first place. Let’s forget the past and begin again with a clean slate. It will make us ALL feel good! I’m sure that those who are disinterested in these skirmishes are tired of them, and even they will feel good!

I’M SURE DOMINIC ZAMPROGNA WOULDN’T WANT TO SEE INFIGHTING ON A PAGE THAT CELEBRATES HIM.

One of the most generous, gracious things we can do is forgive one another. Another is to apologize to one another. When a sincere apology is tendered, when a sincere moment of forgiveness is offered, all those involved feel so much better, and a weight is lifted. I’m certainly imperfect, and I apologize to anyone I may have ever offended at this site. I respectfully challenge others here to drop the antagonism and embrace (hug, if you will) the warm camaraderie. We will ALL be the better for it…

PEACE

@James….Thank you for your lovely, carefully considered response….it was most appreciated! Now it’s my turn to “attempt” a similarly-measured, albeit candid, one….First of all, I’m very glad that you picked up on the genuinely warm sentiments that my original message to you carried with it despite the sometimes not so-joyful subject matter, as it was never my intention to offend you….never, ever! And if I did in any way, shape or form through my words or actions, I offer you my sincerest apologies. Having said that, whilst I can intellectually agree with much of what you espoused, mostly concerning the notion that there can be occasional misunderstandings and miscommunications on a website such as this and we should all rise above them with both grace and generosity of spirit—which I have quite willingly done with various posters here—on an emotional basis, I do believe that the particular situation which is being spotlighted goes so much deeper than most. When a person has been called (amongst other highly-insulting things…) heartless, vile and uncaring simply for stating their honest opinions, that is not a misstatement…it is an intentional, purposeful aspersion on another’s character. If that is not bad enough, to project and assign nefarious motives and beliefs, not to mention, to parse the choice of perfectly legitimate words one uses to express themselves in an attempt to besmirch them, goes way beyond a simple disagreement of points of view…especially when extremely ugly accusations of prejudice against certain groups are lobbed. As an individual who has always comported myself in a civilized, polite aspect that strictly adheres to the highest of social mores and manners, I can tell you that I have never encountered in my “real life” such undignified, unfounded charges, so to be treated to them here is simply not acceptable to me—nor should they be to anyone else when truly unwarranted, as we have also occasionally witnessed. For many years, I have happily and cordially engaged with a vast variety of people here who one can safely assume to be of all different “stripes,” whether according to race, sexuality, gender, religion or yes, even political affiliation…..and if I felt other than kindly disposed toward them, then I simply wouldn’t be here….period! Yet, the persistent meme that I “think” or “feel” otherwise has been repeatedly proferred for readers’ consumption. Quite frankly, I don’t think anybody would be pleased with such libelous labeling, so to suggest that I should simply find it within myself to get over it and give a “free pass” to such scurrilous past behavior really is asking too much, particularly when no apology has ever been forthcoming for any of these incidents, and I wouldn’t expect or entertain one under the circumstances anyway because I couldn’t believe it to be genuinely meant in a heartfelt fashion. Please understand, I am not being difficult just for the sake of it or because I wish to continue this situation….it’s actually the exact opposite. For years, I have repeatedly asked for the courtesy of not personally replying to me in my inbox, as it has been my longstanding policy to do likewise, and even that has failed to be honored. It happened on the previous website, and it has continued here, where there is absolutely no excuse for it now that we each have our own individual response button…just stop it, along with the vituperative personally-directed asides to other parties with whom I am actively carrying on a conversation, and that should alleviate most of the animosity that continues to be propagated. For example, you will notice that in my reply to Mr. Fairman, I made no mention of wishing for “intense battles,” as he so termed it, not me! As far as I was concerned, that was not the prevailing theme of his message…it was to be kind and helpful, and I appreciated that, since I have been rather loathe to acclimate to this new format….it should have just been left at that! Given that it wasn’t, yes, I took umbrage…and because I did, my “interpretation skills” are at fault?? No, I don’t think so…it simply wasn’t necessary to interject that thought in that place at that time where it conceivably could be taken for a slam. As I said, I really consider the best policy for all concerned here is to just keep a peaceful distance from one another’s posts and to hold one’s tongue when the urge to grandstand or denigrate arises. To ignore that temptation is not an unreasonable request. Beyond that, I can provide no other current solution because the damage and ill-feelings I have experienced have been irreparable…no amount of grouphugs and kumbayas can change that, but maybe a demonstrable effort to not keep stoking the fire of discord can…however, that will take time and a concerted effort which I hope will stick! Please know that this decision does not reflect upon my true fondness for you, James, Mr. Fairman or any of the other fine people with whom I correspond here…if I didn’t like and respect the huge majority of you, I would have been gone a long while ago, since putting up with this nonsense hasn’t been a great source of pleasure for me either! Lastly, as far as the thumbs up/down issue? Initially, I didn’t use it when it was introduced on this website…I’ve been slow to embrace most of the new features! However, once I noticed a few persistent downvotes on my own posts, and CeeCee mentioned some, too…I figured this was the newest game in town, and I did sometimes respond accordingly…but my own attributed to you, James, were never a show of personal disrespect for you, your basic goodness and sunny disposition or your ideals for all of us to be our best! It was just a basic disagreement as to certain views you held for others…which I hope you can better understand now that I’ve aired my grievances, which I trust shall not be necessary to share again. Once again, thank you for your most recent display of goodwill and cheer, as well as your friendship! Now….may we please get back to lamenting the fact that GH is presently but a shadow of its former glorious self????

Well, James, as you can see, it falls on deaf ears. I have intentionally not insinuated anything nor rehashed anything. I have simply stated to Mr. Fairman, not to Shay, that “intense battles” is not something any of us should want to engage in. THAT was misinterpreted and seen as “snarky.” I have, as you noted before, reached out to another in agreement about a character, bypassing previous “disagreements” to put it mildly.

What Shay, hell, why not spell it out since she’s being so transparent over and over again, has failed to mention (and oh how I wish there were transcripts of the relentless days-on attacks that went on for two years in a row (or three, not sure). To clarify, not YEARS, LOL, as in daily for a year, but about a three day full on attack by Shay, another and some posters who popped up out of the blue (both years) and then “disappeared.” It was ME who was attacked, and yet these “mysterious posters” came on shouting how rude, insulting, etc, etc… I didn’t even know what they were talking about!!!! My entire thing has been the ongoing ageism here which started with Alexis. Comments like her “wrinkled boobs” having sex she was described as “rutting”, her over-the-top hormones for a “woman of “her age”…she should be with someone age appropriate and wasn’t ” attractive enough to get “Julian”… “Olivia Falconeri” was younger and more attractive and so SHE should be with him, etc, etc.

Valerie was described as not “worthy” of being a Spencer and not “blonde” enough. So, these comments went beyond the fictional aspects of a soap and into age/race judgements. The same “poster” feels that Meghan Markle is disgracing the “royal family.” Pattern? Valerie disgracing the Spencers? Markle the blue-blooded “royals?” Same as the “unruly minority” that started trouble…

I’ve attempted many times to move along and just address the soaps. But the same “asides” that just occurred to you about me without “mentioning my name” has been a constant with Shay. And she seems to be surprised and taken aback when I then feel the need to respond. Those arguments about ageism happened a few years ago. I’m not going to change her opinion, whether it be about women and age or who’s blonde enough or whether someone who loves cats is not to her liking…or whether hunting and killing animals is an acceptable “sport.”

Needless to say, we’re different in every way imaginable. However, if she can leave her hostility at the Fairman door, I think we’ve both vented enough to last a few lifetimes, then that’d be a great thing. Let’s acknowledge that we don’t like each other; we don’t. And move on…

Hey Rebecca1! There are many here that fully support you and thank you for taking the time to defend yourself.:) As usual, you are right on point! We applaud you!

Thank you, Abruzzfan!

I wish I knew you! You barely post and yet the few times you do you’re always in my corner; I honestly think you’re one of the few that saw/see the pattern on here. I appreciate you standing up. Many, like in real life, don’t like to “get involved.” Funny, though, jumping on the “bandwagon” doesn’t seem as difficult.

Hope you (and your now not-as-new kitchen 😉 ) are doing well.

James, belated thanks for the fleeting thumbs up. As the dean of this community, you continue to navigate with great humor and aplomb. Don’t ever change. And right you are to re-direct the conversation to Dominic Zamprogna, taken for granted while he was here, he will surely be missed. Another casualty of an unwieldy cast and an incessant desire to focus on “the shiny new toy” at the expense of the entrenched, tried-and-true performer. If only we could vote out this group during the mid-term elections! In sports parlance, it’s time for a new general manager and coach. Let the re-build of this once great franchise begin!

Perhaps your interpretation skills need sharpening. Not wanting “intense battles” was not meant to be “snarky.” It was meant in all seriousness. What don’t you get about that?

Dear Mr. Fairman…….Thank you for taking the time to point out these new features! For example, I never would have clicked on the “Recaps” section without your direction because I thought it was simply synopses of soap episodes since that is the usual meaning of the word! Hence your hint was most helpful! Please don’t think that my ongoing issues with your new website means that I lack appreciation for your ambitious effforts…I have been trying to navigate as much of the more expansive coverage as possible when the opportunity permits, but it is a more time-consuming activity than checking up on your former site…Additionally, I even initially had trouble with my high-security smartphone allowing me access to this new format…it took my permitting four different exceptions before it finally stuck, so, yes, the learning curve is a bit steeper than to what we’ve all previously become accustomed! But I shall persist…and please don’t be offended that some of us are taking to task certain aspects of this current version….it really only means that we so beloved your old MFSoaps…it was a true haven for keeping up with not just our shows, but those we consider dear friends, and all in a most intimate, inviting atmosphere…this newfangled, more technically-sophisticated format will just take some getting used to, but it is definitely worth the hours spent acclimating to it! Lastly, thank you for taking notice of our many comments and addressing them in such a personal fashion…I’ve already seen much improvement in making this experience more user-friendly, so kudos for that, and best wishes for a long and successful run with this latest incarnation of your eponymous website!

I guess he got tired of not having a good storyline but I wish he would take recurring and do other things. Really gonna miss this guy, he balances Lulu out.

DZ really brought it in when he mourned the death of his police partner, Nathan. I also found him to be incredibly real and touching when dealing with Mike in the jail cell. Now we are stuck with Sonny who is high jacking and ruining Mike’s Alzheimer’s story with his boring and redundant mob story line. I mean, really, Sonny, no one cares! Stop with your mobster naval gazing through memory lane. And for the powers to be not to realize that Sonny is at his most compelling which reacting with sorrow, grief, guilt and regret when observing his father’s struggle is reflective of really poor writing and direction. Dante got this right, he took himself out of the equation and just reacted. From that, I could tell he is a powerful and effective actor.

this sickens me… for the loss of Dante… Dominic Zamprogna; is a CLASS act. first rate. I christened him marriage material.. and left well enough alone.

THE ONE THING : that i’m happy about… is the loss of another character that propped Maurice Benard’ Sonny. with the loss of Morgan… Thee Corinthos’ clan is at the bottom of any thing interesting. FRANK VALENTINI – YOU will never convince me your agenda your mindset is STUCK on Sonny and Carly. this show has become a joke. a poor excuse of an executive producer

where’s your Jason and Sam now? every since “sam” went on that vacation… we’ve never seen one scene with Jason or Drew lusting after Kelly Monaco’ Sam… who, along with Michael are complete bore

as with most all posts… what a wasted character.. and a huge loss for this show. God how I missed Julie Berman… they were magnetic !!!!

can’t even digest this yet… sad at this news

I liked Julie Marie Berman, too. She was a great actress and had spunk. NuLulu is an insipid bore. Can’t make room for any characters, unless they revolve around Wright’s boyfriend, the parking lot hire (who can’t act for **** by the way).

Wish nothing , but the Best .. will be missed , I do know wished he wasn’t and he had more adventures in PC

Dante was turned into a prop…one for Valerie…One for Nathan…one for Chase…Chase swoops in and becomes top cop…once Nelle is revealed im quitting the show for good…GH cant write for characters unless its for Sonny and Carly and for every newbie that pops up…no longer care if this train wreck survives or not!!!!

I went home last night and just wanted to relax and watch TV (not the news). I thought, “I’ll put on General Hospital.” THEN, I thought of how much I dislike the awful storylines, the parking lot hire, etc. and decided to just put on the news. It’s “work” these days to watch our once beloved show.

What a crime that they couldn’t write something interesting for this underrated actor to do on GH. He was always entertaining to watch and root for. He anchored the show and provided stability, along with consistent performances that were grounded in reality. I’m sad he’s gone. Best wishes Dominic!

The irony being that Dante got very little POV, airtime and story because he’s a cop. It was the same for Anna while she was police chief during the early days of Cartini’s GH until she began working for the WSB again. His dad, Sonny, thrives in airtime because he is for the most part a villain type, which the genre now likes to call anti-hero but it’s NOT. This show is supposed to be written with a mostly women audience in mind so things need to change.

Well that sucks

This is a shame. He always did solid, understated work. If I’m not mistaken GH originally tried to get Tom Pelphrey for this role. It would be great to see him back on a soap but I wouldn’t wish the current GH on him. Plus, he’s had some success on cable series and is probably done with soaps. If they do recast Dante, I’ve written the casting call for them:

“WANTED, male Caucasian in his 30’s to basically hang around and not do much of anything at all. Must be content to prop up other characters and have his talent squandered”. Long live GH!

The “Wanted” ad could describe most of the cast-propping up the parking lot hire.

The dismantling of GH continues courtesy of Frank Valenti! Dont even both recasting the role! They barely use the character and Emme is horrible as Lulu! More of that god awful Finn and Anna story. [The anti-“Super Couple!”]

Once the Nelle story wraps up im done..her baby isnt even Micheal’s she had herself artificially insemenated and the baby is Chase’s…

That’s a good theory, but I doubt Chase would have agreed to such a thing. I suppose she could have “helped herself” to his DNA, if he had been unconscious while they were together, but unless she was within a few minutes of a proper sperm bank facility, it probably wouldn’t have been a viable sample, certainly not to be used later (how ever many years were supposed to have taken place between then and now.)

My thought was that Brad was the sperm donor, and that’s why there’s so much mystery going on with the identity of the birth mother to the baby that he & Lucas are going to adopt. Presumably Nelle’s plan there would be to get Michael to fall for her again, pretend to lose the baby, guilt Michael into staying with her(probably by blaming it all on Carly)and meanwhile the baby ends up with Brad & Lucas, with nobody else ever knowing who the mother was, but fascinated by the fact that the kid kinda looks like Brad.

This is GH where realism doesnt matter…so anything is possible…i think it might be Lucas’s with Brad’s help if not Brad himself!!!!

I don’t think Lucas would be involved, because he wouldn’t want to bring on the wrath of his big sister Carly (or his mom, Bobbie, for that matter) by being a party to the deliberate con job against Michael. Lucas is also probably unaware of whatever part Brad played in it, if indeed that’s the case.

Emme Rylan is terrible. She is like “nails on a chalkboard” for me, and the way that they dress is-hideous!

Never too crazy about Dante. He’s nice enough, but was at his best, when angry, especially at Lulu.

FINALLY!!! YESSSS!! Best of luck in his future…The character of Dante, for me, has been a snooze fest for the last 9 years..I hope they do not recast this character..Dominic had some acting chops, so hopefully he will find work soon but good riddance!!

Very very sad and Dominic will be missed…Dominic is a natural and always loved his portrayal of Dante…I wish Dominic all the best…Dominic/Dante was actually one of my all time favorites on GH…

Truly did not see Dominic Zamprogna leaving General Hospital as Dante, but I do wish him all of the best! As for the character of Dante, I could see him leaving due to Jordan cracking down on how she runs the PCPD; he could get in trouble, and ultimately lose his position. Could they recast? Of course, but it’d be a bit difficult! But, I would welcome it!

As for Zamprogna himself, I’d love to see him on another daytime soap if he so chooses. Either Days of Our Lives or The Young and the Restless as nuDiego! And, maybe, Marci Miller could join him there and they could be the next “it” couple.

I support him wherever the winds take him and wish him nothing but the absolute best!

Both actors, Dom and Marci, chose to leave. I think Marci Miller already has a prime time show lined up (not 100% sure but we’ll hear it soon enough if that’s the case). Dom? It seems he has other things in the works too but not sure if it’s daytime or prime/films.

I’m aware they both chose to leave. I’m unsure if either have projects lined up, especially since I’m pretty sure Marci Miller would get back into film work, which is what she was going prior to her joining Days of Our Lives.

No decent show was willing to hire him anyway but, in the age of ‘me too’ Michael Muhney doesn’t have a prayer. Thank GOODNESS! I’m grateful he’s off my screen and that CBS and everyone else never caved to fans incessant whining and did the right thing even before it was demanded. He’s out of the business where he belongs, IMO.

Michael Muhney is OFF Y&R BECAUSE of Hunter King’s allegations. NOW, what is Summer up to? Oh yeah, she is back on the show with her boobs out, shaking her ass at Billy! So, I guess if she is getting paid its okay to be a prick tease? DOUBLE STANDARD! Muhney was a victim of a little spoiled brat!

Wow! It’s hard to know where to start when you seem not to know the difference between the young actress and her Y&R character, LOL.
Michael Muhney’s Adam, one of the most popular characters on the show was not fired and likely blackballed because of Hunter King’s “allegations”. There was much more to actually get him removed from the cast and sent home forever and you NEVER heard him deny it. That speaks volumes to people who get it.

CBS does not want the liability. They have proven they know how to do the right and legal thing – fans opinions notwithstanding. I commend the network for that. Real world solutions to real world problems. And yes, Summer is back. Hunter is free to come and go as she pleases. She is not the pig, MM is so, he was removed from her career path and all is well. It’s not a double standard, it’s the legal standard and it is not going away because some fans “like” him. Though I felt sorry initially for his wife and kids, it was more because it may have been a shock to his family. I couldn’t care less about MM.

BUSTED! You are one of these feminists that thinks all men are pigs and women are all victims!

Not at all. I’m not one dimensional. I am a wife and mother of two grown sons and a daughter and a credentialed professional. I see you’re kind of into baseless name calling and labelling but, as is likely often the case, you’re wrong.

I’ve been in the corporate world long enough to know that innocent people immediately defend themselves and their professional reputations unless they know there are witnesses who can refute their lies. Also, I know each employer has to be careful about whom they fire and why or they wind up right back again like Sally on B&B.
I also know ratings are the name of the game and Muhney had a positive impact on ratings but then, good male actors in their 30’s are plentiful in LA and as has been proven, he was not irreplaceable. If you want to believe he’s a victim, that’s your prerogative but, I disagree and I’m glad he’s not on my screen. Too bad it means he’s also not on yours.

Brava, Soapluv! I can’t even believe what I just read…comparing a character and the way the FICTIONAL character dresses on a soap as equal to a REAL man accused of sexual harassment (albeit alleged)! This is the kind of world we live in. For anyone to even make an equivalence between a fictional character’s wardrobe/character’s persona to a real life sexual accusation; well, I commend you on how you handled that “discussion.”

The fact the he got ANY thumbs up to those sentiments is depressing and appalling in and of itself. And the anger? The actress is a “spoiled brat?” Lottsa rage there.

I agree with you, Soapluv.

Thank you so much. It is always disheartening to see that durn middle aged, MARRIED, father of three given a complete pass for harassment while making the abuser the victim and the real victim the villian. Ugh.
However, enlightenment has danced into the front door and ushered the dark ages to many a dank jail cell. MM can practice his craft in the mirror and keep being ignored. He should be grateful his punishment leaves him free to raise his kids. It’s all good.

Yep; you’re welcome. Funny but your discussion mirrors what’s going on on GH right now. Kiki being seen as the “villain” and accusing the innocent man.

Honestly? I’m not sure we do know the truth. I thought it strange he wouldn’t defend himself or sue for defamation. Still, we can’t confirm one way or the other. Seems like he said/she said but there were people who seemed to back up her story. All I know is comments like: “Oh yeah, she is back on the show with her boobs out, shaking her ass at Billy! So, I guess if she is getting paid its okay to be a prick tease?” absolutely floor me.

I’m not floored, I’m amused that relics of the past don’t understand times UP. Also, I’m thrilled that CBS gets it but truthfully they knew how much trouble failure to resolve harassment could mean. Especially since from all indications there were witnesses. Numerous people came forward to support. The difference between this story and Kiki’s is MM didn’t have the power his arrogance made him think he had.

Dominic Zamprogna was a wonderful gift to GH. He is uber skilled and talented and did wonderful work when he first came. Like the victims of poor judgment the current leadership always has been, they under-valued and mistreated him from the day they took over. Frank and Ron and their dedication to their dead show, OLTL. They spent all their energy trying to make Franco likeable, LOL. At least Ron had the decency to leave.

I hope Dom lands in a much better role, commensurate with his talent. This show is slithering into oblivion anyway. It’s glory days are definitely in the rear view mirror.

GH can not stand to have male characters with a moral compass. Such a shame. He is a great actor and the character was wasted.

Jeff Branson said he thinks it would be fun. They should cast him!

I like him too but, Jeff Branson is much too tall and not marketable as the son of Olivia and Sonny, at all. Plus, Lulu would look like his pet chihuahua.

Wish he would have stayed you will be missed just hope you’re not killed off

DZ is a good actor, is really cute with a great smile and awesome hair. He also seems like a good guy off-screen. The death knell for Dante was saddling him with Lulu, whose character has become a colossal joke and simply can’t be taken seriously any longer. To me, the Valerie affair was another mistake but, once made, should have left Dante free again. He would have survived that and given him more notes to play. That said, I was looking forward to his developing friendship with Chase. Too bad about that, but I wish Dominic the very best.

Glad the character is leaving. Wish he were taking Sonny, Carly, Jason, Olivia, Michael with him. Bye Bye Bye.

What is happening with The? Too many actors leaving!!!

Where’s the edit button???????

I want him to come back lulu and him made a great couple is he going to be replaced?

George Cheeks, CBS President & CEO, on Timeline to Launch New Daytime Drama, ‘The Gates’: “We’re So Focused on Getting it Right”

March 2024 will be remembered in the TV and soap world when the news broke that CBS is prepping a brand new daytime drama. Many had thought a major network would never bring a new daytime soap into the world, given that the last time it was attempted was 25 years ago when the now defunct Passions bowed on NBC.

However, The Gates is definitely in development and moving forward with some major players associated with it including: Michele Val Jean as The Gates writer, showrunner and one of its executive producers, and Sheila Ducksworth from NAACP Venture

Now, for the first time since its announcement, George Cheeks, the president and CEO of CBS and chief content officer for news and sports at Paramount+, spoke on the project that will feature a Black family as its central focus who live in a wealthy gated community.

Photo: NAACP

Speaking with Vulture, and when asked if The Gates is really something that truly has a chance of getting on the air, Cheeks clarified, “It’s super real. And just to give you a little bit of the backstory,  when we hired Sheila Ducksworth to run the NAACP Venture, she and I had multiple meetings talking about what different genres she was going to lean into, and we talked a lot about daytime.”

Cheeks added, “One of the things that the data made very clear to both of us is that daytime soap operas over index with Black women, and yet when you look at soap operas, it’s usually sort of a white-led family with supporting characters that reflect more of our society. So we just thought, wouldn’t it be interesting to flip that and make the core anchor family a Black family, and then make the other characters reflect more the broader scope of society?”

The CEO gave props to Michele Val Jean,  and how Ducksworth came to the table with the former B&B and GH writer. “She found this great writer, Michele Val Jean, who’s been in the soap opera space for 30 years. She came up with a pitch, and we loved it,” shares Cheeks. “We brought Procter & Gamble into it as well, because if there were going to be (product) integrations, we could do it more holistically and organically. All of that is to say, we did a lot of work on the front end to put this together. So while yes, it’s development, it’s accelerated development.”

When prodded on the timeline of when The Gates could come to full fruition, Gates related, “The actual timeline and when we’re going to do it is still uncertain, because we want to get this right. I mean, there hasn’t been a new soap opera launch since I can’t even begin to tell you when. But we have great success with Bold and the Beautiful and Young and the Restless, and so we think we’re the right folks to be launching a new soap. I wish I could tell you more about exact timing, but we’re so focused on getting it right, and that will dictate when we’re ready to launch it.”

The CBS exec also shared that whether The Gates will wind up an hour soap or half-hour is not yet determined, but that it is being developed as an hour show.

So, after reading what George Cheeks, the CBS President & CEO had to say about ‘The Gates’, are you even more excited for what looks to the first new network soap in 25 years? Comment below.

Robyn Bernard, ‘General Hospital’s’ Terry Brock, Dead at 64

Former General Hospital star, Robyn Bernard, who played aspiring singer Terry Brock has died. She was 64-years-old.

Bernard’s body was found Tuesday in San Jacinto, California. A Riverside County Coroner told TMZ they identified the actress’ body using her fingerprints after deputies responded to a death investigation call on Tuesday March 12th.

Sources told the outlet that Bernard’s body was found in the wee hours of the morning. The cause of death has yet to be determined.

Photo: ABC

Bernard joined General Hospital back in 1984 as Terry Brock, the daughter of the abusive D.L. Brock (played by David Groh). Robyn remained on the ABC soap opera for six years before making her exit in 1990. At one point, Terry’s stepmother would become Bobbie Spencer (the late Jackie Zeman) when the nurse married her father.

Terry was involved in the Laurelton Murders storyline and after first setting her sights on Frisco Jones, wound up with killer Kevin O’Connor. Later, Terry was blamed for several murders and in the end killed Kevin in self-defense. In addition, Terry had a relationship with Dusty Walker played by none other than Shaun Cassidy.  She eventually left Port Charles after landing her own recording contract.

The last time GH Fans may have seen Bernard was in 2014, when she appeared at the GH Fan Club Weekend Past Cast event. Robyn is pictured below with the late Susan Brown (ex-Gail) at the fan gathering. She has been out of the limelight for several years.

51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards Announce Broadcast Date on CBS

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) revealed on Tuesday, that the 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be broadcast live on Friday night, June 7th (8 – 10 PM, ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network, and available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+*.

This year will mark the 18th time CBS has broadcast the Daytime Emmy Awards, which is more than any other network.

The 2024 Daytime Emmys will take place at the Westin Bonaventure in downtown Los Angeles. Back in December of 2023, the delayed 50th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were also held at that venue. The June 7th date for the upcoming ceremony will be the first time in several years that the event is scheduled a few weeks earlier than normal; excluding last year’s revised date to the actors and writers strikes.

Lifetime Achievement honoree, nominations, host, and additional information will be announced in the coming weeks.

In a statement, Adam Sharp, President and CEO of NATAS noted, “We eagerly anticipate our return in June as we once again partner with CBS to recognize the exceptional and talented individuals who make daytime television great. We’re thrilled to kick off our second half-century of the Daytime Emmys.”

The Daytime Emmy Awards have recognized outstanding achievement in television programming and crafts since 1974, honoring work in a variety of categories, including daytime dramas, talk shows, instructional programming, hosting, culinary, and legal/courtroom programs. In 2021, NATAS and the Television Academy jointly announced plans to realign the Daytime and Primetime Emmy Awards to be organized by content genre, as opposed to program airtime.

The 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will once again be produced by NATAS and Associated Television International (ATI), which produced Daytime Emmy Award ceremonies on The CW in 2009 and on CBS in 2010, 2011, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. Adam Sharp and Lisa Armstrong are executive producers from NATAS, while David McKenzie is executive producer from ATI.
