Drake Hogestyn Halloween Tweet On His DAYS Return As John Black!

So many long time fans of Days of our Lives have been ecstatic at the news that fan favorite, Drake Hogestyn is finally back in the saddle at the NBC soap as John Black.
And today on Halloween, Hogestyn tweeted his confirmation on his arrival back in Salem, “Happy All Hallow’s Eve! The Treat?…I’m back in Salem! The Trick?…I sold my house and have no place to live! Now that’s scary! Yikes!”
Due to DAYS production schedule, in which they tape four months ahead, look for Drake to be back on your screens in early 2014!

OMG Michael, OVER the top giddy doesn’t even begin to explain how overjoyed I am to hear confirmation that Drake is back on DAYS! Talk about receiving the best EARLY Christmas present ever! I haven’t watched DAYS since this amazing actor was removed from my television screen, so it looks like next year DAYS goes back on my lineup! Drake’s Tweets are so much fun to read! Yes!!!!! Yes!!!! Yes!!!!! The way the writers had John treat Marlena made no sense. I wish they could erase those scenes but since they can’t, I hope they will so something to reunite them [after he grovels for forgiveness. LOL]. I’m just happy that John Black is coming back to town. And that’s a fact!!!

Am I happy that Drake is back in Salem? Is the Pope Catholic? Of course I am! SCREAMS…. Drake Hogestyn should NEVER have been benched!! I’m a LONG time DAYS watcher(since 1972) & I haven’t watched for weeks because Drake/John hasn’t been in Salem!! The writers have certainly lost the romance & humor of the DAYS of the 80’s & 90’s. I hope & pray they get their act together & give Drake a nice LONG storyline;like I expected last Fall but didn’t get! Drake Hogestyn MAKES DAYS now! I am a FAN of Drake’s for life! He’s a wonderful man & actor who has always been LOYAL to DAYS since he first arrived in 1986! I have NEVER met another person like Drake! I can’t wait till the new year to start watching DAYS again!!!!!
P.S. DAYS writers please write story lines that Tom & Alice would be proud of once again! They are probably rolling over in their graves with the story lines now!

Hi! I have watched Drake ever since the late 80’s. I ‘am SO HAPPY THAT he is coming back to days! This is what I think should happen. Stefano and John get into a big war and Stefano should take marlena and John should come back and rescue her! They should also bring back Belle and let Brady get his head back on straight and when John comes back into town . Marlena should not talk to him at first because she is upset that he supposly had feeling for Kritter! Let them argue and get upset at each other and then a GOOD LOVE scene and then they can get married !
I am THRILLED beyond words that The Black is Back! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for John & Marlena!

I forgot to say also, that Drake is my favorite actor ever. To me, when he plays Roman/John, he is the essence of a hero/friend/lover/husband/dad/priest/mercenary, anything that is thrown at him. He gives 110% to any role they give him and plays it has he is that character. I have been a fan since 1986, when I being a born and raised Hoosier was visiting in Denver, and saw the show with him on it. Went back to Anderson, south of Fort Wayne and since then he has been my all time favorite male actor. I can see him in about any role he is given. I am now retired and living in Florida

Marlenanba is a very good actress. However with Drake and Kristen I believe the writers did drop the ball. So much more could we see of Kristens talents as a sophisticated saboteur, possible head of Dimeras against John , mature , sophis, dynamic , puzzling so forth. Not all that non sense. In fact I like John better with Kristen than Marlena, Marlena is dull, no fault of her own lately. I like her now with or without John not because john is a bad actor.

51st Daytime Emmys: Outstanding Daytime Drama Series Nominations
On Thursday, the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards revealed nominations in several key categories via four entertainment news programs: Access Hollywood, E! News, Extra and Access Hollywood.
Three of the four announcements were major categories in the field of Daytime Dramas.
The nominees in the Outstanding Daytime Drama Series category are: The Bay, The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, Neighbours and The Young and the Restless.

General Hospital won this category last year, and has the most all-time wins for a series in this category. For the first time, the beloved Australian-based soap opera, Neighbours is now eligible for competition due to its reboot which streams on Amazon Freevee.

The 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be handed out in ceremonies in Los Angeles and broadcast live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ on Friday night, June 7th.
Previous categories announced tonight via the entertainment news outlet included: Lead Actor and Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

51st Daytime Emmys: Tamara Braun, Finola Hughes, Katherine Kelly Lang, Annika Noelle, Michelle Stafford, Cynthia Watros Score Lead Actress Nominations
The nominations were revealed for the 51st annual Daytime Emmys. in the prestigious Lead Actress in a Drama Series category by Entertainment Tonight.
This comes ahead of tomorrow’s full list that is set to be unveiled at 12noon/9am PST on Friday.
In the running for this year’s Outstanding Lead Actress are Tamara Braun (Ava, Days of our Lives), Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke, The Bold and the Beautiful), Annika Noelle (Hope, The Bold and the Beautiful), Finola Hughes (Anna, General Hospital), Cynthia Watros (Nina, General Hospital) and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis, The Young and the Restless).

Previous winners in this category include GH’s Finola Hughes, Cynthia Watros and Y&R’s Michelle Stafford. Days of our Lives nominee had won in the Supporting Actress category twice in her career.

Ahead of the full list of 51st annual Daytime Emmy Award Nominations to be revealed tomorrow on Friday, April 19th, Extra’s Melvin Roberts unveiled the nominations in the highly-coveted Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actor.
Going for gold are Eric Braeden (Victor, The Young and the Restless), Scott Clifton (Liam, The Bold and the Beautiful), John McCook (Eric, The Bold and the Beautiful), Thorsten Kaye (Ridge, The Bold and the Beautiful) and Eric Martsolf (Brady, Days of our Lives).
All five of the nominees are previous Daytime Emmy winners, with Eric Martsolf the only won in the group to have won his previous Emmy for work in the Supporting Actor category.

B&B could make it three years in a row as the reigning champs in the actor race, having won in 2022 with John McCook and 2023 with Thorsten Kaye.
In addition, as previously announced, the Michael Fairman Channel will play host to its 10th annual Daytime Emmy Nominations special featuring several of the nominees for the 51st annual Daytime Emmys which happens live tomorrow Friday, April 19th beginning at 8 pm ET/5pm PT.
