The news that fans of Cynthia Watros (Kelly) and The Young and the Restless have been eagerly awaiting to learn has come to light!  Today, MTV has greenlighted the  drama Finding Carter to series!   The cable outlet ordered 12 episodes of the series, which is a coming of age drama from executive producer Terri Minsky (Sex and the City) and based on an original script by Emily Silver (Bones).  Watros plays one of the leading characters in the new television show!

According to TV Line who broke the news of the series pick-up,” Finding Carter centers on  a teenager named Carter (Skins‘ Kathryn Prescott) who seemingly has the perfect life with fun-loving single mom Lori (Law & Order‘s Milena Govich), until the police bust a high school party and she discovers Lori abducted her as a toddler. Now Carter must return to the family who thought they had lost her. As she navigates brand new parents (Angel‘s Alexis Denisof and Lost‘s Cynthia Watros), a twin sister (newcomer Anna Jacoby-Heron) high school and boys, she vows to find Lori before the only mom she’s ever known is gone forever.”‘

So, just exactly what does this mean for Watros continuing in her role of Kelly on The Young and the Restless remains to be seen?  When she signed on for a number of episodes to the number one soap, she had made it clear that she was awaiting word on if the MTV series would be picked-up to assess if she could even make a bigger commitment to the soap.

What do you think of the news of Finding Carter going to series? Do you hope Cynthia will stay on Y&R somehow? Let us know!

They should’ve re-cast her as phyllis that would’ve been spectacular television

No! They need to hire Robin Christopher for that role!

No! She can go tomorrow. If Billy’s requests as one of the primary stars of the show can’t be accepted than neither should hers. Kelly is worthless. Good luck to CW

I think if Y&R continues to let her work both projects the a hypocrites…I realize she’s not under contract, but that was the reason Billy Miller left because they would not let him do other projects. but of course Billy wasn’t a FOJ…so there you go!!!

I really like Cyntha Watros but I have no use for the character of Kelly. So I wish her all the luck with her new gig. It sound interesting. I look forward to never seeing Kelly again.

Ditto.
When she slept with Billy, she became a FF character for me. I don’t like “Kelly” at all, but Cynthia is a good actress and I wish her well in her new project.
Buh-bye Kelly…don’t let the door hit ya!

Crazy Annie has got to go!

Never really liked her character on Y&R so I be happy if the stint is shorten and this Kelly character is off the canvas sooner rather than later.

I agree!!!

I think she is written to be the hit and driver and will leave the Y&R for MTV.

Adam was already made the hit and run driver!

there were three cars driving that night – Nikki, Adam, and someone else – I agree with Su000, i’ve always thought it would be Kelly. a boring ending to another stupid storyline. The other is that Carmine isn’t really dead and the Fen in and out of prison storyline is a complete waste

Adam DID NOT hit Delia. I think (& hope) that it was Kelly so they can get her off of there. I never did like her. I knew she was trouble. Charge her with manslaughter & send her packing off to prison. Bye, bye, Kelly.

bet is was the lady that traded her vehicle in the next day

I still think kelly is annie dutton, from guiding light. Now bring kim zimmer as reva shayne lewis, and let the fireworks begin. LOL. KELLY slash annie dutton can have all the catfights with reva. that would be good and hilarious to watch, LMAO.

Great Idea, Kim Zimmer

i believe she was the hit and run driver!!!! so, she’ll be gone soon.

I’m not a fan of the Kelly character on Y&R because I’m a fan of Villy (Victoria and Billy) and didn’t like that Kelly was meddling in their marriage. Today, Thursday, January 30, 2014 was my last day to watch Y&R after MANY years of watching. I have stopped watching because of the firing of Michael Muhney, the crappy writing and, most importantly, Jill Farren Phelps ruining what was once a great soap. I wish Cynthia all the best with this new endeavor!

I don’t really think there is a story left to be told there between her & Billy. Besides she would be smart to get away from that really bad show now before they fire her. Or the are finally cancelled

The show sounds good. Plus Alexis Denisof will be there too. As for her character Kelly – I am sure she is the hit and run driver. They may be made us think Adam is responsible but I know she is the one. Also I am not watching as of Jan. 30th, cause of MM, the crappy storylines they forced on us, the current regime.

Ive always liked her but she was miscast in the role of kelly, Ive said it over and over, she should have been the new Phyllis. I do think she hit Delia and will exit once Nu-Adam returns.

I took Y&R off my DVR after yesterdays amazing episode, so I dont plan on seeing the story unfiold.

I hope she remains on Y&R, even as recurring. I feel like Kelly has potential to really become a worth while character on the series. Would be sad to see her go!

Well I guess it will all depend on how well the MTV show does to as how long she will commit to The Young and The Restless. If she’s on YR for a while would be interesting to mine her chararcter and have some connections to other long time characters on the show.

Cynthia’s the best! When she played Annie Dutton on GL, that was riveting. Of course, no soap ever did characters better than GL. It was nice to see her on Y&R, but her talents were sort of wasted so far on that soap. I feel Y&R should have just written the character out unless Cynthia could eventually return to the part.

Lisa Rinna Would Be Down to Reprise Her Role of Taylor McBride in ‘Melrose Place’ Reboot

When Lisa Rinna departed her popular role of Billie Reed on Days of our Lives back in 1995, her next major role would be a jump to primetime and the soapy Melrose Place.

In 1996, Lisa was introduced as new character Taylor McBride and stayed with the Fox young adult sudser for three seasons. Now in 2024, with the recent reveal that a Melrose Place revival is the works with Heather Locklear, Daphne Zuniga and Laura Leighton all on board to reprise their signature roles, would Rinna board the project should it come to fruition?

Speaking with PEOPLE, Rinna expressed, “Well, gosh, I’ve heard about it. I haven’t been approached or anything, but I would love to see what Taylor McBride is up to 25 years later. Wouldn’t that be something?”

Photo: FOX

OG Melrose Place fans know that in story, Taylor moved to the Melrose Place apartment building with her husband Kyle played by Rob Estes. However, Taylor had her eye on Dr. Peter Burns played by former GH star Jack Wagner (ex-Frisco). But, by the time she had moved to the apartment complex, Peter had married tough as nails ad executive, Amanda Woodward, played by Heather Locklear.

Recalling her time on Melrose Place, Rinna added that it, “was one of my greatest and most fun acting experiences, playing Taylor and working with Heather and the whole crew.”  Rinna also noted, “So if they need a Taylor McBride appearance, they know who to call. I’m around.”

The new Melrose Place is in development at CBS Studios. In the premise of the reboot, the Melrose Place residents reunite after the death of one of their friends, “but the pressure cooker of a reunion soon uncovers old traumas, rekindles old romances, reignites old resentments, and reveals new secrets… throwing our characters into chaotic drama that’s reminiscent of the past, but with a much more modern perspective.”

So, would you want to see Lisa Rinna reprise her Melrose Place role as Taylor McBride? Comment below.

Sean Kanan’s Stepdaughter, Juliet Vega, to Appear on The Bold and the Beautiful

Coming up on this Friday’s April 26th episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Juliet Vega, the stepdaughter to Sean Kanan will make an appearance on the CBS daytime drama series in the role of Michele.

Keeping it “All in the Family”, the character is named after Juliet’s real-life mother, and Kanan’s wife, writer and producer, Michele Kanan.

Back in 2012, Sean married Michele Vega and thus began their blended family which included his daughter, Simone, and Michelle’s children, Peter, Gigi, and her twins, Annie and Juliet.

According to a B&B show spokesperson, Juliet’s B&B character is intentionally named Michele in honor of her mother and Sean’s wife.

While we don’t know how “Michele” shows up in story, it is the same episode that Clint Howard makes an appearance as well seemingly tied to the case of where in the world is Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown)?

Photo: CBS

We can’t imagine that Juliet wouldn’t get the opportunity to mix it up on-screen with her stepdad, Sean Kanan. Previously, the two acted together in Sean’s streaming series Studio City, where she played the role of Delilah and he played soap actor, Sam Stevens. In it, Delilah is the bio-daughter Sam never knew he had.

So, looking forward to seeing Juliet on B&B and how ‘Michele’ turns up in the story? Comment below.
