No picture for the new Takeda? Did they not have enough for their budget? yet another slap to the Asian american audience of revenge. The whole point of this soap is Emily’s revenge and her training from her mentor takeda is the reason she can exact revenge! Takeda is significant but bec he’s Asian they won’t even put him w/ the cast and they won’t pair him romantically w/ any woman bec hollywood is threatened by handsome Asian American leading men. Is it a coincidence that Korean rapper Psy of Gangnam Style fame is gaininig popularity despite being unconventional physically yet tons of Korean K pop acts like Rain and Super Junior and the Koreanovela actors who are part of K pop have more conventional leading man appearances. They range from willowy to the more muscular men but they’re handsome w/ either look. Yet their traditional leading man looks work against them w/ regards to trying to reach some hollywood success bec of racism. hollywood is threatened by the financial success and educational attainments of Asian American males and thus handsome Asian men must be prevented from being portrayed by hollywood. This explains Psy being accepted while TV shows have to mock Asian men and portray them unflatteringly and asexually like Revenge’s Takeda. According to the Pew Research Center Asian Americans are the highest income and best educated American racial group. Pew Research Center reports that Asian Americans are growing even faster than the Hispanic community w/ 6% of the population being Asian American. Yet where are these best educated and rich Asian Americans on revenge w/c is abt rich people? None bec of hollywood’s racism towards Asian Americans! All of the help of Victoria are Asian women and black women while all the rich characters are white. How completely illogical and typically racist of hollywood.
