Florencia Lozano On Her Time On OLTL: "Tea was a blast to play!"

Courtesy/ABC

Courtesy/ABC

Florencia Lozano, who has been doing guest stints as Tea Delgado crosses over to General Hospital from One Life to Live, spoke with Theatremania.com about the experience of playing the spitfire legal eagle during her 15 year run in Llanview!

Lozano stated:  “Tea was a blast to play. People always ask me, ‘Was she good or was she bad?’ And I say ‘She did some questionable things because of her damaged heart.’  Who can’t relate to that? I loved how psychotically driven she was by work and by ambition and by her loyalty to the people she loved. That was really fun to play. She was complex, and we don’t get to see complex women often enough.”

When asked what is next for the popular actress, Lozano had this to say:  ” I have a lot of writing projects right now, and I’m trying to figure out how to do both the writing and the acting — especially coming off working on a soap opera, where I had a real daily structure where I could write regularly. I like structure. And as an actress, I’m excited to be able to do plays again. I want to do more Shakespeare, because that’s one of those experiences as an actor that borders on the religious, and I would also like to do more classic plays like Williams and Chekhov.”

Soapers, would you like to see Florencia still be a part of GH, when the baby-switch drama has ended?  Would you like to see Tea integrated into the canvas of Port Charles,  so the show can play out the return of Victor Jr, who was very much alive at the last episode of OLTL?  Or, do you think Tea and Victor Jr’s story should be left open-ended in fan’s minds forever? Weigh-in!

Please please please let her become a part of the GH cast. Loved her so much on OLTL and so happy when she comes to GH.

Oh, I never ever want to see (or hear) Tea Delgado again. Good luck FL. Bye.

You are in the minority with your opinion. Which sucks btw! 🙂

It sucks that I’m in the minority? I don’t think so. I like the discerning group that feels the same way.

I do know a lot of people that don’t like the shrieking psycho, TeaUgh I have NEEDS Delgado, though.

Put me in there too. I like FL, but when Tea starts screeching, I start tuning out. Let her come and go until they prove that her beloved Victor is alive and well and she can eat a large humble pie in front of Todd – and then they can both leave for the South Pacific forever.

I am with Robert, not Margie…. just for the record

I want VIki, Tina, Dorian, Natalie and Rex on GH! Tea is good a lot better than John McPain!

I agree,I would love to see the return of Victor (and crazy Allison Perkins–maybe she could team up with nutty Heather) and also Viki Tina and Rex.Since Andrea Evans lives on the west coast, her addition to GH is a no brainer !!

LOVE TEA! LOVE FLORENCIA! Bring her over and bring back Victor already! They can dump the Christina storyline and now that Jason is going we NEED another good character back to cause havoc! Tea against Alexis and Diane?? Oh the possibilties! While they are at it….bring Viki on for a visit!

I’d love to see her continue on GH!

Yes, ABC take note, your silly replacements shows have all failed. The Chew you will cancel to as it is not bringing in the same numbers as AMC. Swallow your pride and give the people what we want our soaps. I don’t care, pick one of them and bring it back!!!

More Blair, more Tea and for the love of God, put Natalie and John back together ASAP!

No offense to the actress, but, no, I really don’t want to see Tea become a permanent citizen of Port Charles. There are enough GH characters to fill the canvas that needs story. The inn is full, IMO.

Florencia Lozano, is a great addition to GH,.
She and all that may come to GH, will ”belong” there is room for all talented actors..
I would like to see Florencia Lozano, become recurring, and not totally be gone .

No, after the baby switch story is wrapped up, that should be the end of Tea Delgado on GH. She doesn’t belong on GH.

I would love having her stay on GH as Tea!!! I was under the misconception that she was staying on. I love FL as a n actress and her character Tea is awesome. Very complex and lots of fun, especially with Blaire/Kassie Depaiva!

listen up soap fans. a big rumour i heard through another website is one life to live could come back in january 2013 or september of next year. it might be a 30 minute show. it depends on the chew. if the ratings fail. abc might consider bringing back one life to live. just a rumour right now. lets hope it happens.

I hope the rumour proves to be true. Can you tell us more or even proved the link to the story you saw? I would love to read it.

Thanks

I LOVE FL and think she’s a better-than-fine actor, and the Tea Delgado character was a major reason IMO for OLTL being as great as it was these past few years. And seeing the character again on GH did my heart good.

That said, and the sentiment is heartfelt, I don’t see a place for her in Port Charles once the baby switch storyline wraps up. And also, IMO, they leaned too heavily on Tea’s fierceness, without letting people unfamilar with the character also see the other side of her magnificent character. I can understand those who never saw her on OLTL being put off by a character who in her short time in PC did a LOT of screeching.

I hope she does well and I’d love to see her in other roles. But, at least for now, I don’t think a return to PC would be such a good idea.

She screeched even more on OLTL. Tea was always a mess.

Not from my perspective. Tea was one of the best characters OLTL ever had. And FL is one of the best actresses also.

I would love to see Tea come along with the Buchanans!

I adore Tea and FL. I wish she would be a permanent addition to Port Charles. She is an amazing actress and has chemistry with anyone. I would much rather have her on the canvas than the other newbies that are being added. I would love her to duke it out with Alexis in the courtroom. Having my two favorite characters on one show would be wonderful!

I loved having Tea/Florencia visit on GH! I’m happy to see any characters from our lost soaps. We can’t expect GH to be able to accomodate all the characters we’d like to see in the future, however. The only answer is bringing back AMC and OLTL!

I am torn. I would love to see Tea Delgado on GH to class up Peyton Place and be part of an epic Victor/Tea reunion. However, after seeing FL on stage, I have come to realize that she and Tea Delgado are to pheonomenal to be subjected to plot point writing and sacrificed by propping worthless puke worthy characters like Sam, Jason, Todd, Blair, John, Liz, and anyone else who benefitted on screen from the senseless death of Tea & Victor child, even if the child is alive. The fallout was soapy and I get it, but it was digusting soapy and I rather the true supercouple of V&T that was formed in this new age soap world be left alone because TPTB is to plot point driven to do justice by the acting genius that is FL & TSJ. I will recommend to anyone to see her live on stage to understand what I am saying.

I would like her to pop back in to wrap up the Victor story, but I honestly think she is too good an actress to stay on GH. Florencia should be a big deal movie or television star and that is what I am hoping for her.

Bring Tea back to GH, it would great to see all the trouble she can bring to Port Charles.

Yes, Tea needs to be a regular on GH. Love her!

I like Tea & FL. The Victor storyline is THE ONE OLTL storyline I would like to see resolved. Now that they have screwed the Jolie HEA I’d rather see Natalie. I’d also rather see several other OLTL characters before Tea. Vicki, Blair, David Vickers….

I should add I’d like to see Tea possibly as a recurring character. That has worked well IMO. I think contracts should be very few & far between because most of the current GH cast is wonderful and budgets are tight. I’m sure losing Steve Burton has freed up some $$$.

Please bring Tea to GH full time (not to mention a few Buchanans).

It’s heartbreaking to think we may never see Tea Delgado again after her storyline on GH wraps up. I miss my Life to Live…

The character of Tea is tops – love Florencia. Love her even more with Trevor St John. The more OLTL characters that come to GH the better!!! I am so tired of the mob and mob characters.

Tea & Victor still have a huge Story that should crossover to GH but Trevor St.John needs to return as Victor Lord Jr. !

Agreed!

I just want Victor and Tea reunited. They had such a large fanbase and were totally stabbed in the back when the writers didn’t give them their well-deserved happy ending. Trevor and Florencia are gold together- I just want to see them on screen one last time, then ride off into the sunset so both TSJ and FL can pursue their others ventures.

Actually I would prefer Tea over Blair! (Blair and Carly are carbon copies) Tea is a strong woman, that is missing from GH. It can’t be just Anna as the strong woman. Tea is even Brighter than Alexis.

Tea is unique, that’s for sure. Uniquely horrible.

I am bored and sadden by the baby switch storyline.Clearly the writers are stuck in history. Given how they have dealt with RH as Todd.To add insult to injury, the ending tease of OLTL……giving us a live Victor…….Tea’s character has no room to.breathe or live happily, on the mob mess of GH…….i don’t know why everyone thinks that OLTL is coming back in any format…..it simply isn’t. The writing is stretched thin……they are scrambling to aloe characters who are quitting or exiting because of money, the studios greed, and they are simply trying….to hard and doing some of this blindfolded……clearly someof this is not working out……its happening on every drama…….just watch……..

I really hope that Tea and Victor fans get a payoff. We need to see a reunion.

Tea deserves some kind of happiness after everything her character has been through and soon will go through when giving back the baby.

TSJ and FL are pure magic and GH would be lucky to get their chemistry on screen. The interview sounds like FL is willing to okay Tea whenever they call. That is good news!

I would love to see Tea, Blair, natalie, and Vicki on GH.

I’d like to see her occassionally but mostly, of course, I would like to see Trevor St. John make at least a few appearances to tie up that storyline… and then they can go off into the soap sunset together. 🙂

and it would be nice to see Blair some too… Carly could use a gal pal to talk to, especially with this Johnny / Connie fiasco

OR hey, better idea, if Todd were to start to figure out about VictorJr being alive and work with John to find him — that would be a nice end to the baby fiasco and would help Tea and then she and Victor could be together and Alison Perkins could be locked up, and then hopefully Todd could go on being a rascal on GH! 🙂

sounds like a soap to me! 😀

I love Tea. I hope she stays. If they’re smart they’ll keep her. Also, GH should keep as many OLTL actors as possible. When ABC gets the rights to OLTL back in January, it will be easier to put the show back together.
Adding OLTL characters has only helped GH. I loved both shows, but GH was not nearly as good as it is now.
Let’s hope ABC will bring back OLTL.
