As many know, TV Guide Canada’s Nelson  Branco first broke and reported the news that Days of our Lives co-executive producer, Gary Tomlin is on his way out of Salem.

In this week’s Suds Report, Branco received some elaboration from sources stating, “Gary did not agree with the firings. He was very upset about having to let Nadia, Crystal [Chappell], and Louise [Sorel] go. He doesn’t understand what’s happening. But he did understand and suspect that he’d be the next to go.”  An actor also told Branco, “He’ll be missed.”

On-Air On-Soaps has additionally confirmed that an official announcement on the situation will be addressed as early as Monday morning.

So, who is set to replace Tomlin? Stay tuned.

I don’t know what’s going on at Days either. Maybe all the fired Days employees can start up their own soap. Morale has got to be low on-set with no one knowing who’s next. When you let top talent like Louise and Crystal and Nadia and great newbies like Bren go, it just boggles the mind. I don’t want to see just the Bradys and Hortons. I’m enjoying Quinn’s story and his interaction with Vivian, Gus, Chloe, and Victor. I can’t wait to see how his connection to Viv is revealed. It’s a shame this story, the actors, and fans won’t get to see it all the way through.

I agree. Im not Gary’s Tomlins fan at all especially because we dont have EJAMI, but I agree with him in relation to the firings. I love Louise, Crystal, Nadia and now Bren. They are great assets to the show. There stories were just getting interesting. I hope this firing means that RAFE will be gone for good.
I do however wish him the best of luck in his future.
Im glad the vets are coming back but its sad at the way its happening.

Let me guess…..Frank Valentini?

I think the drama going on behind the scenes at Days is more fascinating than most of the drama we’re seeing on the screen right now….

Funny, I was thinking the same thing that Frank Valentini would take over the reigns. I think Ed Scott would make a great EP. He worked wonders there before.

I love Ed Scott- he gave EJAMI the best story but when Tomlin came along, that bwent out the window. I wish he would come back.

It would be nice to have an EP whom actually listens to ALL of the fan bases not just the one of his favored friend.

This is a business and personal favorites should not over shadow the business and that is what has happened with the EP and DH. Personal and business should not mix because then you get crap and that is what DOOL has been for the past year, DH pushing HER characters and HER favorites as was GT, NOT what the fans wanted.

I pray that the new EP looks at the show as a whole and sees the BIG picture and not focus on their personal favorites!

I wish him well but I’m glad he’s gone along with his Passions agenda. Passions was cancelled twice for a reason. I hated Passions and that influence on DAYS just made me switch the channel. I agree w/ S. McLaughlin. The show should focus on the big picture and not just the favored few. The slanted writing was a MAJOR turn off. It’s unfortunate that so much time was wasted on such drivel when 2013 is just around the corner. The fans should have been given compelling and riveting s/ls not manure. What a waste of resources and talent the last 1-2 years have been. I would love for the show to bounce back but it’s probably too late. Too much damage has been done to MAJOR characters.

Im happy he is out,he and that other writer that is now out,
Lucas and Sami forever,,,
EJ and Nicole are meant to be together,
and YES BRD/Lucas and Allie Horton are on the way back in Augest :))

yep Lucas&Sami always and forever
EJ&Nicole forever and ever
