GENERAL HOSPITAL: After Learning The Truth About Sasha; Nina Leaves Her Wedding To Valentin … With Jax

Courtesy: ABC

If you caught Tuesday’s episode of ABC’s General Hospital, you witnessed Cynthia Watros (Nina), well, being what she does best, delivering a performance that only Cynthia Watros can do!

Everyone knew the nuptials of Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) and Nina were potentially cursed with all of the secrets looming, especially the major one that Sasha (Sofia Matteson) is not Nina’s biological daughter.  After overhearing as conversation between Liesl (Kathleen Gati) and Sasha in the women’s bathroom, Lulu (Emme Rylan) just had to tell the truth right in the middle of the long-awaited wedding of the  lovebirds.

After dropping the bombshell during the the ceremony, at first, Nina could not believe this at all, especially coming from Lulu; who is still dealing with the fact that her marriage to Dante is over, so why would she want anyone else to be happy? Problem was when Nina asked Sasha to just set the record straight,  she didn’t the way Nina had thought she would.  Sasha goes into the story on how she duped Nina for money, but then became so fond of her, and loved her like a daughter would.

Valentin is freaking out, because he knows he could be implicated in this mess, and while there was no proof on hand of how three DNA tests were all switched to make it look like Sasha was a DNA match for Nina’s bio-daughter, he looked the guilty party as well.  A betrayed and angry Nina feels in her gut that Valentin had something to do with this, and is rocked to her core that he lied to her again.  Nina screams she has to get out of the chapel.

Then, who should just be coming by at the right time outside the nuptials, that knight in shining armor, Jasper Jacks (Ingo Rademacher).   They make a exit together, where Jax takes Nina back to his brand new home that is barely furnished at this point, but there is a couch! And there is some scotch!  When Jax tries to calm Nina down, so she will talk about what has happened, all that she says so far is that Sasha is not her daughter, and that she never had one.

Back at the wedding, Valentin vows revenge on Lulu. Liesl lies to Maxie (Kirsten Storms) that she had no idea that Sasha was not Nina’s daughter, and Valentin makes a call to someone.

When the smoke clears from this one .. we predict these possibilities:  Jax and Nina share more than a kiss … Nina go back to Valentin and this charade of his involvement in bringing Sasha to town remains a cover-up and she gives him yet another chance .. or is it 100% curtains for Valentin?  Stay tuned.

Whatever happens next, Cynthia Watros reminded us all why she is a force to be reckoned with on daytime screens, or any acting medium for that matter.

She was brilliant!

I think Staff and Jax would have had more chemistry than Waltros but I do like her away from Valentin. He is a wimp and a liar! He deserves nothing! Maybe he kills Lulu and Nick resurfaces and kills Valentin!

nope sorry… no offense to Cynthia Watros… but I still prefer Michelle S. in the role of Nina

I like both. Michelle brought a softness & vulnerability to Nina, coupled with crazy!

It’s about time!!

Soapy! Cynthia Watros is growing on me. Please, oh please, get rid of the newly permed Parking Lot Flop. He is the worst actor. Am I the only one who thinks he salivates over every male he encounters. NO chemistry with Kirsten, and she has become just as awkward as The Flop.

@DMRR…Your posts regarding your most favorite “bete noire” never disappoint! When even a character’s mere hairstyle grates upon one, you know that it’s truly time for them to go…asap! I felt the same about “Old Nina,” although “NuNina” doesn’t grab my fancy either. Quite frankly, I’m all for the “NoNina” option!

Not a fan of the actor either and the new hair is really bad, but why do you call him parking lot? Just curious.

I can’t help but wonder what’s happening to Lulu as she deals with her divorce; who’s she becoming. And there’s something about her teacher-boyfriend that makes me wonder if he’s as good as he seems.

How these folks are gonna get out of this mess remains to be seen but I hope it’s messy and takes a while; not a one day show where all is forgiven and forgotten.

Totally boring! I’m sorry but it was totally predictable and the acting was lackluster. NuNina may be a good actress but she is wrong for this role.

Would love for Nina and Jax to become a couple. They look GREAT together!

I know a lot of fans have strong feelings on this subject, but no matter how you feel about this recast or this character, you must admit Cynthia Watros has some acting chops! I have really enjoyed her in the character and I thought she acted the hell out of this episode. It was very soapy and worth the wait!

Yep. It was as if Annie Dutton walked through a painting in Springfield and came out in Port Charles.

@Channing Capwell…How very well put…In fact, that is how most of GH’s endless parade of soap retreads strikes me…they are just playing a continuing version of their previous characters. (Especially the vast majority of those from OLTL and AMC..in those cases, they’re not even “thinly veiled,” but “in your face!”)

HAHAHA!

I can’t wait for Valentin to kill Lulu, and well he should, I insist.
But- that won’t happen, sigh..
He brought this on himself nonetheless Lulu needs to be taken out by Valintine, yup.
Lulu irks the bejeezus outta me so her being taken out would be a good thing.

I knew Nina and Jax would be hooking up that was a given.
So– I hope Valentin will finally become a true Cassadine and do what a revengeful Cassadine would do and give me some spellbinding drama!!

Watros/Nina gave an absolutely stunning performance BRAVA!!

I would love for Valentin to kill Lulu and then Laura to kill Valentin, in very quick order.

Yes! Kill Lulu and shut her up!

Amen Lulu is horrible!

There will be no killing Lulu! She’s the only one of Luke & Laura’s kids currently in Port Charles, and one of two people that actually uses the Spencer name (Bobbie being the other one. I can’t really count the recast “cousin Valerie” since she’s had about 30 total seconds of airtime.

Now on the other horn, if Lulu was to be injured and woke up with Julie Berman’s face again, I wouldn’t have any problem with that at all.

su000/Channing/DMRR…Why do you have to use “killing?” There’s enough of that going on in the “real” world. Just send Lulu on her Haunted Star to somewhere else far away.

GH is beyond dull, it’s empty of drama.
Killing Lulu would blow some life into GH..
A whodunit, and hopefully some intrigue and suspense; like during the ol’days.

putting Lulu on a boat to nowhere has no purpose in creating the desperately needed drama..
GH is Empty of all a soap needs to be a soap of quality.

heh yah– kill Lulu !!
‘sides she irks the H outta me.

Su000…I just refrain from using the words hate and kill. But that’s me. Like you Lulu irks me, too. So to try to put a little “drama” into her story because we still have to have some Spencer’s, let her sail away for a while during which time she discovers Drew on a desert island where he parachuted when his plane crashed. The way things are back home he’s not so sure he wants to come back to Port Charles. But since he is an honorable man of course he will return. Just having some soap fun.

Hi Rose 🙂
GH does not need a Spenser.
That family took a death dive when Luke left..
Soaps lose families, especially when their purpose has gone north.

Lulu has no real purpose, she is filler to irate me lol

The Quartermain’s died off and had a need to bring in Michael to be a predominate Q..
not to mention others
(for one, Oliver)brought in to hold the Q name, and it all failed.

Lulu needs to go. Sorry 🙁

Su000…I guess we just have to adjust to the fact that all legacy families in both soaps and real life pass away. Seems they never have enough kids with the same dreams, guts or smarts to carry on the family traditions the way the originals did. Maybe that’s why many really like Downton Abbey. It’s a time and place frozen in time where even the advent of the telephone was like the equivalent for many of us now with tech and apps. And I’m not so sure I would want to see what the Crawley’s, etc are up to now.

I want the old nina back

Deborah…I like Michelle way better as Phyllis on Y&R. I wasn’t sure about Cynthia at first, but she is starting to grow on me in the role of Nina. And I like her with Jax. Of course this will set up real problem with Valentin. So between Jax, Laura, and maybe Spenser hope to see some real Cassadine drama.

What will it take to open Nina’s eyes? Maybe if she’d take off those rose colored glasses she wears around Valentin. I know she wants to believe him, but the constant lying drives me nuts. Maybe Nicolas returning will force her to face the truth. I have no patience or pity for her

Cynthia’s getting better in the role and making it her own. Would Michelle been better? Of course!

But with the situation that was handed, we got one good actress for another that was equally good.

This should be a turning point for Cynthia as her interactions with key players will finally reveal if she was truly the right choice to takeover the role.

I’m still giving Cynthia a chance as she’s coming into a heavy storyline and so far, she’s working with what she’s got while having to continuously multitask of creating chemistry with key characters within her storyline.

This whole story is getting stupid. How the Hell does Sasha get arrested for “identity theft”?

Fraud, yes. Since she did go along with the scam of pretending to be Nina’s daughter, and gained financially from that lie. Granted, Val the Bastard was behind that fraud, and he should be going to prison for it before she does…. especially as he’s already a convicted international felon.

But – as far as we know – she used her real name, isn’t impersonating any other mortal human being known to actually exist, and thus, isn’t stealing anybody’s identity.

There’s only one person currently committing identity theft in Port Charles, and that would be Drodd. When does he get arrested?

While not a topic I would generally opine on, Cynthia looked absolutely stunning in that dress. However, I regret to inform you that lightning does not strike twice—must have blown the budget with the first dress, as the second go-round was an uninspired choice.

Speaking of choices, while disappointed to see Michelle Stafford leave the role of Nina (thoroughly enjoyed having her on GH), the show hasn’t skipped a beat with Cynthia. Less impressive was their handling of Billy Miller (Drew), but I digress…. Today’s post is about a dress and shoes and Cynthia has filled them admirably!

More of the Story on ‘General Hospital’ Star Josh Kelly’s Latest Film Role in ‘The Workout’

We had previously shared that General Hospital’s Josh Kelly was taking three weeks away from his role of Cody Bell to a shoot a role in an upcoming movie entitled The Workout.

Josh originally revealed his role in the film during an episode of GH castmates, Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradford Anderson’s (Spinelli) podcast.

Now Deadline has filled in some of the blanks, and shared some intriguing intel on the premise of the film and its back-story.  The film stars Kelly along with Peter Jae, and UFC Fighter, Ashlee Evans-Smith. Other cast members include The Bay’s Kristos Andrews.

In The Workout, two army rangers set out to create a workout video, but their plans are abruptly halted when a mob hit interrupts their filming. Tragically, one of the rangers loses his wife in the attack, sending him on a relentless mission to take down the mob and anyone who stands in his way.

The film from James Cullen Bressack, almost did not get financed.  Apparently, ten days before his birthday, Bressack made a post on Instagram about the feature and production, casting, and financing came from the post … illustrating the power of social media. After the post gained traction, a producer provided financing and actors expressed interest in joining the project, leading to a quick production.

Photo: ABC

In a statement, Bressack shared, “As artists a painter paints, a musician makes music, a writer writes, but as filmmakers we have to ask permission to create. It’s time to change that narrative. This film spawned from a necessity to create. We create. We tell stories. We play pretend. I’m excited to take this journey. This is the truest form of collaboration and a community of friends coming together to make something fun. While our industry has had a rough time recently with strikes and a possible strike looming in the future, it’s nice to remind ourselves why we got into film to begin with. To have fun telling stories.”

No word yet on when The Workout will be released.

So, looking forward to seeing this collaborative effort featuring GH’s Josh Kelly? Comment below.
