General Hospital Delivers Super-Sized Promo: The Truth About Wiley To Be Revealed

Courtesy/ABC

This week, General Hospital is going full-tilt set to deliver the moment that fans of the show have been waiting for since back in September 2018, when on one fateful night  …

(Cliff Notes version here) Brad and Lucas’s adopted child dies, Nelle gives birth in the woods with an assist from Liesl. Brad and Nelle comes face to face on the road; the two switch babies and keep the long-held secret that Brad and Lucas are actually raising Nelle and Michael’s bio-son. Meanwhile, Willow thinks she is Wiley’s birth mother, having no idea, that her baby died with Brad.

Julian has been in on the secret, and when Brad finally revealed to Lucas the truth about Wiley, it caused their car to crash (Remember: Kendra who in the other car, who was trying to kill Alexis) which has left Lucas with only fragmented memories of that night.

Realizing everything is getting too close for comfort for the truth to come out; Brad accepts a job in Portland and is moving with Lucas and Wiley, while Nelle is selling her shares of ELQ to Valentin to get out of dodge too, so she can follow them, we think.

But in one of the best promo’s we have ever seen for a daytime drama series, as you see below; will Lucas remember and reveal the truth to Michael?

From the cast credits at the end of the promo, to the setting up of the tale, this is one promo not to be missed.  Check it out below.

Now, let us know, how you think the truth will come to light that Michael will find out he is Wiley (AKA Jonah) biological father and that their was a baby switch? Will it be as teased in the promo, or some other way? Comment below.

Nelle will take the baby and run after the child survives a plane crash that kills Brad and Lucas…Willow has a breakdown and is in an accident..she needs blood and Nina has her type…as does Sasha..Willow and Sasha are revealed as fraternal twins of Nina…Chase gives Chase(LOL) after Nelle with Micheal and Sasha not far behind…Nelle and the baby go over a cliff and their car plunges into the ocean..Chase and Micheal rescues the baby but Nelle is missing and presumed drowned..Lucas and an injured Brad turn up alive…Willow still believes the baby is really hers and makes a play for Micheal….ok, kidding-lol

Oh, Jimh, I couldn’t pull up the real promo, so I’m playing yours out in my head. Nothing is really out of the realm of possibility! But I do like Willow & Chase together and I want Brad & Lucas to survive this reveal, however unlikely. It’s been a long time coming…let’s hope they don’t screw it up.

Sometimes i like to make out a story of my own…and the one on Days came true..that Julie’s son David and Valerie would have a son together and i did send that idea to Corday years ago!!!

WOW, Jimmy!!—–you always read my mind—-how long have I been saying ( actually we both did….since forever) Willow and Sasha were twins?…..albeit, I admit I was soooo far off with Kiki. Not my fault. The writers steered me in that direction. LOL.
Hey, don’t sell yourself short—everything you said has roots and legs, my friend.

we need those stories to come to an end…im not getting any younger-lol

Neither am I, Jimmy–neither am I. My back hurts. LOL.
You”re right—-we all know Nina has a daughter out there—what if it’s a son?
Whoever it is, should be known—been dragging since Nina first made an appearance. Years ago. When plots linger and linger in limbo, the thrill dissipates. The interest wanes. That’s my opinion.
The same with the Wiley drama—or should I say; trauma!! How long? When he’s an adult and ends up marrying a future sibling of whom he will not be aware he has?

as long as it isnt Peter…

Oh, please ..NOT PETER!!!!!!! LOL
Peter should just go out there, into the wild-blue-yonder and pick a peck of……….

That is a fantastic promo!! Cannot wait!!

I agree! I’m pumped!

Awesome promo. This is probably my favorite storyline on GH during the last 1.5 years. Nelle is a great villain.

Ugh.

Another baby switch story wasted with a speedy wrap-up. If a show is going to invest in a baby switch then have the good sense to back burner it and let it simmer for a decade or so. There would be infinitely more drama in Wiley being ripped from the only fathers he’s ever known and forced to live with Michael and his career criminal family if he was actually old enough to realize the raw deal he was getting.

I agree with the last part of your comment.

For some reason, I thought this story started in the summer of 2018? Whatever, it has been a very long story and I wanted it to play like this. FINALLY a story that wasn’t rushed and had us praying for the payoff but not getting it until the writers felt it was going on long enough. The old way of telling stories. All I can say is BRAVO to everyone involved in this from the actors to the writers. I know alot of people wanted this to end some time ago but most stories are told that way nowadays so for me to get a story that would play out in the length of time it used to take to tell a story like this has been a blessing for me. I know this week is going to be the best!!!

It did start on July 31, 2018. I don’t know why they said September 2018. It began on July 31, 2018. I don’t like how GH drug out the baby switch for a year and a half. Thankfully it finally ended on February 19, 2020.

Amazing that they gave the promo so much time and extra props for tagging the actors’ names at the end. Can’t wait to see this play out. It won’t just be one show; it’ll linger with consequences for a really long time (if they’re smart).

Why did they make the Wiley reveal all about Carly? Lucas, Michael (heck, even Bobbie) should have played more prominently as they had more impact.

Nelle vs Willow was a darn good fight.

Good question the answer is she is the pet and when I read about it I deleted it! The show insulted our intelligence Lucas should have been the one crying and expressing his hurt his anger why does every story have to center around Carly and Sonny her screaming gosh I dislike her character and LW overacting just drives me nuts now I guess your token gay couple that they have never truly written for just leaves the canvas while Michael no back bone at all let’s Mommy do his work for him! Ugh

General Hospital insults our intelligence constantly by allowing Carly too much power over other people’s lives. As I tell those with whom I converse , this show would fire me the same day because these overly power hunger characters such as Carly , Jason ,Sonny , Sam ,and whoever else- would avoid me as if I had a serious disease after I tell them some things that they don’t want to hear ! As Carly and the others are written boldly , write the other characters with a backbone , also.

Absolutely, Boop—most to-the-point post yet!! Have you noticed how as soon as Carly “accepted” Sasha, everyone else followed suit? The queen hath spoken; ergo it must be so. The conformity; the kowtowing , the subservience to these “elites” is laughable. I could understand if there were some kind of omnipotent aura—-a specialty ( well, I will concede Laura her skill–albeit exagerated) that would leave my mouth agape—–no star-sruck fan here. Sam? Sonny? Jason? C’est dommage—give me Ava all day…. never a dull moment; the ultimate character with charm, finesse, style, that touch of evil and charisma.

Celia, I agree with what you said about Sasha ; I also thought about how Carly accepted Sasha by saying that she reminded her of herself. I don’t understand why she couldn’t see some of herself in Nell.
After , I saw Michael walk out of that house with the baby, I was done with General Hospital until I see some of my favorites win some battles.( Ava, Valentin, Julian ,etc.)
Now that Taggart is back , hopefully , he won’t become a Sonny worshiper. I didn’t like him when he was at G.H. before ; it wasn’t because he didn’t care about .

Yeah, Boop, hypocrisy abounds in PC.
From what I’ve heard about Carly, I don’t see any parallels between her and Sasha.
Sasha happened to be at the wrong place at the right time for herself and Valentin. I’ve always liked her —-whatever she did was not from malicious intent—she ‘got’ caught up within the imbroglio.
Nelle, on the other hand, as Carly, leaves a lot to be desired. Yet, the PTB ‘forgive’ Carly’s shortcomings, to put it mildly, so similar to Nelle’s, by giving her distorted dominance a pass.
I said earlier that TPTB stir the cauldron—I changed my mind. Carly is doing the stirring. LOL

Exaggerated—sp.
I wonder, was the original Carly put on such a pedestal? I’ve only been watching for five years—–is it because she’s married to Sonny?
——which begs the question—–what is so special about Sonny; the sainted mafioso quasi-warrior.? Poor example of a true malvivente. I guess Bonaparte has his day, too.

Carly is both Michael’s mother and Lucas’s sister, so she had every right to jump down Brad’s throat.

Though I suspect the real motive here was to assemble the future murder suspects when Nelle eventually gets her long overdue relocation to Hell.

We’re looking forward to seeing her!

Well, Satan , she should take Michael , Carly , and Sonny with her. The way that you like Carly and family , I like anyone anti – Carly and family.

I agree with you about Carly’s role. General Hospital gives Carly too much say in other people’s lives. If G.H. doesn’t change doesn’t write for everyone , I’m planning to stop watching.

If G.H. doesn’t attempt to please the other fans of the show, I’m planning to stop watching . Sonny and his group are always winning -while everyone else suffers. I left the show a few years back when Sonny was allowed more power than the Quartermains . In reality , I know that mobsters had/have power ; however, they knew/know not to flaunt it in front of the police , government , and society. Plus, the writers have everyone running scare of Sonny ; real life gangsters exhibit their power : win, lose , or draw. I’ve seen the Godfather and other gangster movies in which one mobster family is as powerful as the other;however , that doesn’t stop the other families from going after them. General Hospital doesn’t do that ; everyone is scare of Sonny and his henchman ,Jason.
Before ,I end , I hope that Nelle is allowed to fight for her child; this show allows the mob to take parental rights from the mother. Plus , Michael should realize how A.J. felt when Carly and Sonny kept him from A.J.
I hope that G.H. writers try to make all of the fans happy and not just some! If not, I’m moving on!

Which “other fans” should they be “trying to please”??

Jason has been a character since 1982, and an ACTUAL speaking character since 1991. Sonny has been around since 1993 & Carly since 1997 or so.

The Steve Hardy/Lee Baldwin OG generation are pretty much all dead & gone. No way to bring them back.

All the interlopers hired by Valentini since 2012 are completely useless, with few exceptions (and none of those exceptions are named Frodd, Ava, Whiny Heiny, or Ohbrect!).

So exactly which other characters should they be writing for? Hell, I think it’s actually a good thing they brought Taggart back after all these years. But I have a feeling you’re gonna hate it when he ends up working with Sonny & Jason to stop Cyrus the Virus. It’s inevitable.

Believe it or not ,there are other fans who aren’t onboard with the mob and family; those are the ones of whom I’m referring .( which you know ) I never cared for Taggert when he was there before; however, it’s hard for me to believe that he will work with Sonny. Some of the characters who you named , I like ; I didn’t say love.
I’ve written this before , I applaud Carly for sticking with Sonny regardless of what the circumstances are; other characters should learn from them about what it means for better – for worse.

Boop
I guess it’s adious to you then, because the things and people you hate are the main thread of GH. It has always been this way. Different times and same type of characters. I have been watching from the beginning, and I thought at first as you and others do, about the Corinthos, but I have since accepted that Sonny and Jason are good people that do bad things. There seem to be some of the same characters on every soap. It’s always been that way and I’ve been watching soaps for over 60 years. Carly for instance is a big mouth pain in the butt, but, she is Michael’s mom, making her Wiley’s grandma. Myself, being one, I would have had my hands around that twerp Brad’s neck for sure, and they would be hauling me off in cuffs, instead of him. Was she supposed to sit there and shut up during all this? Bad enough old Bobbie didn’t say enough for what Brad did to Lucas. I would have been in his face for sure! Sorry for ranting so much, but the things I read that people are so upset with just drives me nuts. It’s easier to stop watching something that makes you crazy. I stopped watching B&B a while back because it upset me so much.

I understand about how you feel , Violet; however, just as Carly forcefully states her opinion , the other characters should be afforded the same privilege . I appreciate that you have been watching for sixty years , I’ve been watching about the same number of years. As a child, I sat with my aunt and watched all of the old Soaps- from Guiding Light , As the World Turns , Love Of Life , Edge of Night , on and on. Yes, each show has a character that wears on the nerves ; however, I still don’t the writers to write the shows in a one – sided manner; I like for my favorites to shine, sometimes.

That’s a direct contradiction, Miss Violet. Good people who do bad things? There is no good in murder. EVER, Nonetheless, I do agree that all soaps are guilty of this good-bad personae. …..oxymoron.
I don’t like Sonny. I don’t like Jason. I don’t like Sam. I can tolerate Carly because Laura is truly talented, albeit overbearing.
Granted, that is my problem. LOL.
General Hospital is an Orwellian Society. Bunch of hypocrites to boot. Do as I say and not as I do mindset.

Hi Celia
Nice hearing from you after so long. Uh oh! Guess you thought the old lady needed a time out huh? Well, sorry we don’t see eye to eye, but I have lived a long life and have learned that there are very few things that can be painted as just black or white. Some people can be shown in the most favorable light, but are actually horrible human beings. Of course I don’t condone murder, but it doesn’t mean they haven’t done some good deeds or acts of kindness in their lives. I also know we can’t see everyone the same. I know how much you love Ava. Well, I can’t stand her, never could and not because she is a murderess. You have said once that Avery would be better off with her mother. OMG, thankfully she was spared from the kind of love she gave Kiki. I too can’t stand Carly, her big mouth and how she thinks everything is about her, case in point, all the stuff Nelle has been doing was” to get back at HER.”I do like Jason, but not his bowing down to Carly and his profession. I am also sick of him and Sam. I also like Franco, as one of the few who has accepted the brain tumor excuse. I know he’s done horrible things in the past but they have turned him into a new character, which to me is just that. Well, I know how precious your time is and I’ve railed on enough. Hope all is well with you.

Hello, Miss V—-nah , didn’t think that, sweet lady. I actually thought you were still having problems getting through.
Agreed….good people do make mistakes ( we’re human—not perfect) but, murder is not a mistake. …unless it’s self defence or protecting another————–Especially when such a crime is someone’s livelihood.
Case in point–Sonny, Julian, Jason etc. without repenting.
Tell you a story— my husband’s family’s good friend’s daughter ( are you confused yet?) was arrested in one of Boston’s many Universities. She’s a good girl but did a bad thing. She had a fight with her boyfriend and threw a glass at him which caused him to get stitches on his cheek. That is the perfect example of a good person losing his/her head—-temporarily, in a moment of anger. I would not do it—-I have never been so angry to do that—not within my personality, as I am sure neither is it in yours or many others.
Committing murder; knowingly walking out the door with that intention does not fit, ” a good person doing a bad thing”.
You’re right!! I’ve never liked Sonny, Jason or Peter—the characters. Yet, I love Ava and I like Franco also—- to a certain point I like Nelle. I can’t explain it. It’s a mystery—however, Nelle DOES deserve to pay. Why do Sonny and Jason ( loved Burton as Dylan on Y&R) continuously get away with murder? The cliche’ is personified in their case.
Who to blame? I understand it’s a soap, but this storyline has a never-ending plot — –different era; some different characters—no end….Same story over and over—stale.
Furthermore, Sonny is the worst mafioso. Cosa nostra intrigue is somewhat passe’.
Then, there’s Sam with that quivering voice—sotto-voce is not indicative to a good, audience-capturing performance. And, of course her childish behavior chasing Jason. It seems that she constantly unloads her kids here, there and everywhere. I try not to grind my teeth, Miss V. LOL.
I must say, I am so glad to chat with you again…..it’s been too long.
Stay well, ❤️

This week was as good as I hoped. I thought Katelyn MacMullen really delivered. The scenes between William DeVry and Maura West were unexpected and of course really good. When Lucas hands Wiley to Michael and both actors look crushed, it really hit the right note.

My only complaint with this storyline is making the gay asian character the bad guy. Such an obvious and stereotypical trope to perpetuate – the one-dimensional, self-absorbed gay bad guy. Very 1980s. BTW, has anyone else noticed that soaps are in the process of writing off the handful of queer characters they had, after it took decades to get here? That’s shameful in 2020. Pandering to fans of the orange menace, I guess.
