GENERAL HOSPITAL: Michelle Stafford Delivers Riveting Performance As Nina Confronts A Captive Henrik!

On Monday’s episode of General Hospital, viewers learned that it was Nina (Michelle Stafford) who gave an assist to none other than Liesl (Kathleen Gati), who are the responsible parties for kidnapping Peter aka Henrik (Wes Ramsey).
It all happens in a cabin in the woods when Peter wakes up screaming, strapped to a bed. When Nina comes through the door, he is shocked. Nina launches into an emotional tirade of a grieving sister who lost the brother who meant the world to her, and who she always looked up to, and saw as her protector. She rails on Peter that she wants her brother, Nathan back, and accuses Peter of using her beloved sibling as a human shield. A desperate Peter tries to tell her, that he is nothing like his nefarious father, Cesar Faison, and he really fought hard against that. Nina doesn’t believe him for a second, and doesn’t like how he tried to insinuate himself into Maxie’s life when she was most vulnerable … pregnant, and grieving the loss of her husband. After not really wanting to hear another word out of Peter’s mouth, Nina reveals that it’s actually someone else that is keeping him hostage there.
In wanders Dr. Obrecht with a hatchet. (Memories of Misery?) Now, it looks like Dr. O is going to smash the hatchet into Peter’s head, but she smashes it into the wall behind him instead. Nina tells her aunt that while Liesl has kidnapped Peter and taking matters into her own hands, it’s only a matter of time before the WSB tracks Peter down. Nina vows she wants payback as well, but thinks the police should handle it. However, Obrecht disagrees, and decides she should keep Peter locked up, until he confesses to whatever will put him away permanently. They shake on it. Next, Peter begs Nina not to leave him alone with the “maniac.” However, Nina leaves anyway, as Obrecht gags him.
What touched us most in these scenes, was Michelle Stafford’s portrayal of Nina’s pain, betrayal, and need for retribution for the death of her brother. Stafford illustrated why she continues to be one of the most noted actresses on the soap with her ability to weave levels and depth of emotion into a performance.

Love Michelle – as usual delivers a fantastic performance.
I was a little surprised to see her at the cabin – at least so soon,I figured it would be Liesl and she would bring Nina into the fold eventually.
Michelle Stafford is a very powerful actress.
She doesn’t often get the credit she deserves.
Michelle is indeed one of the best of the best actors and she never fails to bring it home.
When she is given good material she is outstanding.
Michelle has been continuing to turn out powerful performances. First, with James Patrick Stuart and now Wes Ramsey? They’re clearly trying to use her for her strengths, which is nice to finally see happen!
Michelle has been, finally, given the chance to exhibit the talent few can claim.
The lioness is out….a’roar; claws sharpened in the name of her family/brother/cousin.
I hope she runs him though a skewer.
Seems only the praiseworthy posts made it on this thread! With all the serious scenery-chomping that went on by this character, Peter is lucky to still have a roof over his head! #NotImpressed….
I adore Michelle… her portrayal of Nina
floors me…time and again.
Adore Michelle. I know that Michelle/Nina do not have a very popular fan base with the viewers; but, I think she is great. Michelle steals scenes. As much as I hate this storyline and I can’t stand the parking lot hire, I loved Michelle in these scenes.

51st Daytime Emmys: Outstanding Daytime Drama Series Nominations
On Thursday, the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards revealed nominations in several key categories via four entertainment news programs: Access Hollywood, E! News, Extra and Access Hollywood.
Three of the four announcements were major categories in the field of Daytime Dramas.
The nominees in the Outstanding Daytime Drama Series category are: The Bay, The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, Neighbours and The Young and the Restless.

General Hospital won this category last year, and has the most all-time wins for a series in this category. For the first time, the beloved Australian-based soap opera, Neighbours is now eligible for competition due to its reboot which streams on Amazon Freevee.

The 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be handed out in ceremonies in Los Angeles and broadcast live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ on Friday night, June 7th.
Previous categories announced tonight via the entertainment news outlet included: Lead Actor and Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

51st Daytime Emmys: Tamara Braun, Finola Hughes, Katherine Kelly Lang, Annika Noelle, Michelle Stafford, Cynthia Watros Score Lead Actress Nominations
The nominations were revealed for the 51st annual Daytime Emmys. in the prestigious Lead Actress in a Drama Series category by Entertainment Tonight.
This comes ahead of tomorrow’s full list that is set to be unveiled at 12noon/9am PST on Friday.
In the running for this year’s Outstanding Lead Actress are Tamara Braun (Ava, Days of our Lives), Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke, The Bold and the Beautiful), Annika Noelle (Hope, The Bold and the Beautiful), Finola Hughes (Anna, General Hospital), Cynthia Watros (Nina, General Hospital) and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis, The Young and the Restless).

Previous winners in this category include GH’s Finola Hughes, Cynthia Watros and Y&R’s Michelle Stafford. Days of our Lives nominee had won in the Supporting Actress category twice in her career.

More of the Story on ‘General Hospital’ Star Josh Kelly’s Latest Film Role in ‘The Workout’
We had previously shared that General Hospital’s Josh Kelly was taking three weeks away from his role of Cody Bell to a shoot a role in an upcoming movie entitled The Workout.
Josh originally revealed his role in the film during an episode of GH castmates, Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradford Anderson’s (Spinelli) podcast.
Now Deadline has filled in some of the blanks, and shared some intriguing intel on the premise of the film and its back-story. The film stars Kelly along with Peter Jae, and UFC Fighter, Ashlee Evans-Smith. Other cast members include The Bay’s Kristos Andrews.

In The Workout, two army rangers set out to create a workout video, but their plans are abruptly halted when a mob hit interrupts their filming. Tragically, one of the rangers loses his wife in the attack, sending him on a relentless mission to take down the mob and anyone who stands in his way.
The film from James Cullen Bressack, almost did not get financed. Apparently, ten days before his birthday, Bressack made a post on Instagram about the feature and production, casting, and financing came from the post … illustrating the power of social media. After the post gained traction, a producer provided financing and actors expressed interest in joining the project, leading to a quick production.

In a statement, Bressack shared, “As artists a painter paints, a musician makes music, a writer writes, but as filmmakers we have to ask permission to create. It’s time to change that narrative. This film spawned from a necessity to create. We create. We tell stories. We play pretend. I’m excited to take this journey. This is the truest form of collaboration and a community of friends coming together to make something fun. While our industry has had a rough time recently with strikes and a possible strike looming in the future, it’s nice to remind ourselves why we got into film to begin with. To have fun telling stories.”
No word yet on when The Workout will be released.
