Much respect put the health and safety of your cast, crew and their families first, that’s the way it should be! Always a fan.

This is starting to suck dragon ass. I mean I’m immortal and I live in an environment where viral diseases aren’t a conncern. But with all the sports canceled and now the possibility of GH disappearing for a while…..

Well, you know the old saying “idle hands are the Devil’s playground”. So what about when the Devil has idle hands. I might have to start doing possessions again just to keep myself from being bored senseless.

On the other horn… this might be one of the few occasions where Days of Our Lives having 8 months of episodes in the can turns out to be a good thing.

this is getting really scary I hope it ends soon, I am going to miss Gh if this goes on for a long time.

Hey, Aria,
TPTB of government and Medical experts are estimating July/August. I look at it this way—-perhaps GH will be fast-forwarded as DOOL. was. We would be missing so much useless scenes with useless characters—eg: Peter, the misanthrope, Maxie, even Anna, at this point….etc.

Awwww–
It’s gonna be OK..
The soaps have filmed a month ahead..
So- there are episodes to come..

It’s a good thing- to shut it down..
Hopefully, there will be detection kits by
the time they return..
((don’t hold your breath..
ooohh yeah.. a Chinese billionaire
just sent to USA a million kits and masks!))

i asked about this on another site about soap productions halted-a lot events and schools shut down until April…Meanwhile i know it will turn out that Curtis is really Trina’s father…she blamed him for her father’s death and he knows her mother-1+1=predictable…getting back to the virus-it pays to be cautious and all but people are a bit too panicky…and this buying up all the toilet toilet paper…after going into a public stall i thought many dont even use it-the toilet looked like Willy Wonka’s Chocolate factory had exploded…

I think Trina is Nikolas’ child with Gia. And Gia gave him to Taggert to save her from Helena. Now Ava will get to have her as a stepdaughter.

i wasnt watching when there was this Gia…but it would make a neat feud between her mother and Ava…however im still betting on Curtis…

While that might be interesting, it’s highly unlikely since Brook Kerr is on contract as Portia. Doubt they’d bring her on, just to take away her connection to the canvas.

Colin
Very good thought. I thought she might be Curtis’s daughter, but I like your idea better, and her mother dislikes Ava already, wow!

it’s a good idea to put people’s safety first. Though GH will be missed we wish them well – and hope to see them mid-April – I am sure they wish us well alsoll!! It is unchartered waters for all of us – be safe world!

While its all becoming a bit panicky and OTT with this Coronavirus….better safe than sorry. An idiot NBA player was infected, joking around, touched all the mic’s after an interview and his teammate became infected. And Trump is shaking hands like a boxing champion and refusing to be treated even though he was exposed. So yeah. Better to be cautious I guess. And I suppose people expect to have diarrhea since they’re madly buying up all available toilet paper. WTF? LMAO. oh yeah. That’ll help….one hundred rolls of toilet paper. LOL

Hey, dev,
While I do agree that the Prez should have not shaken anyone’s hand; he did undergo the necessary testing, which proved negative. He has stopped all physical contact with the public.
Be safe!!

You too. One guy was like uhUh and offered his elbow LOL. Self Isolating myself. It’s all the rage dahling. I’m having martini parties with rotating mannequins on spinning bases and strobe lights. #YASSSS LOL

HaHaHaHaHa—–I can actually picture it—wish I could join you!! We’d have so much fun —you made my day!! I’ll copy that!! —I do love my Baileys—pretty stocked!!. I just need to hide it from the PRIGS!!
Rock on!!❤️

Tipsy me to a maanequin…. “Daaaahling, I haven’t seen you since New York fashion week. Do hold still so we can bump elbows. LOL

At this point, due to preemptions during the impeachment hearings, GH likely has 6 (maybe 7) weeks of episodes shot. If they’re not back in studio by mid April, they might sprinkle in some reruns.

Nurses Ball (which usually shoots mid-April) might be delayed.

Be interesting to see if they work corona into a storyline, but that might be a little too close to reality.

the safety of the entire GH team is of utmost importance – I am glad they are taking this precaution

I applaud their move and wish everyone well. Even if this goes on longer than there are shows already in the can, I’d rather deal with reruns than jeopardize someone’s health.

A very wise decision

Both sad about what is happening to our familiar world. Glad about GH, and I’m sure the other soaps will follow, putting health for everyone ahead of everything else. Even the morning talk shows don’t have audiences anymore, and this spreading in one way or another to other entertainment programs.

Now it’s up to us to keep as well as possible for ourselves and towards others. I’m going to try to stay busy…start reading the pile of books I’ve accumulated, do some “art” in the Bob Ross colouring book and puzzles I got for Christmas, keep in contact with friends and family on email (one good reason for tech), start prepping my garden even though it’s still too cool where I live…but still good to be out. And as property manager at my condo introduce more disinfecting throughout the building. A tip…if you are unable to find disinfecting wipes at your stores I did improvise…baby wipes, which were still on the shelves, dipped into PineSol which is supposed to knock out 99% of the bad stuff.

And anxiously wait for GH to be back to normal…again, what ever that is. :))

Better safe than sorry–
The issue is with schoolchildren around the country—-how does one entertain them for a prolongued period of time—-there is so much teaching one can do out of a classroom setting, especially for those who get distracted easily. Kids get bored—-my son is one of those children who feeds on challenge. I get antsy myself, albeit playing Barbies with my daughter is kind of fun.
Back to GH—-I heard that Willow discovers she was adopted?
Hey, Jimmy—-did we not say she is probably Nina’s?——Nelle’s or Sasha’s twin? —possible ramifications here.

Yep….one of those about Willow….rent movies for the kids, get out the board games, or vidoe games, make them help with housework…get some art supplies ect…there are possibilities!!!!

They’ve been home four days, and we’ve almost exhausted everything—-
We don’t allow Video games—-
You’re right, Jimmy….must use the imagination to its full potential.

i dont blame you on the videos…one we had was so gory i tossed it but we did have family friendly ones the whole family enjoyed!!!…i will go cray cray if my state goes total lock down…so much is closed and stores so empty…but i didnt hoard and had enough before all the panic started!!!

Everything is closed here, Jimmy—–but, it needs to be done—we’ll see where it takes us. I’m an optomist—-no “hugging” or kissing your wife/girlfriend—
I hear it’s tough for guys—what can I say??????LOL.

Oops—optimist—autocorrect is wrong! LOL.
PS—-I hope, not, Jimmy. The extreme consequence of lockdown will only make us feel caged and our psyche will not be too happy—I would go as stir-crazy, as you—-
I’m fine with businesses shutting down, or semi-closed ( food is still bring delivered—if you trust the people eho cooked your food). But, not people—that cannot happen.

I’m glad GH is coming down on the side of caution, I would hope the other soaps and other TV shows in general follow suit. No reason to put the actors and production people at unnecessary risk.

If they haven’t returned to production by April and run out of first run shows, I would suggest that ABC start airing classic GH episodes from the past. They certainly have no shortage to choose from over 57 years. Let the fans vote on what shows they would like to see, make it engaging and fun. Anything to take people’s minds off what’s happening in real life.

These are scary times. I never thought I would go to the grocery store and see people literally fighting in the aisles over toilet paper like I witnessed today. It’s like Lord of the Flies come to life. I’m trying to go about my daily life as normally as possible, but that’s becoming harder by the day.

Everyone be well, stay safe, and take care of yourself and your families!

So many things are secondary now. There is so much content out there available now that I wouldnt panic if GH was off the air for a couple months! The world will be forever changed. I hope that GH will use their platform as a hospital driven show to tell stories about the dangers that will forever be a part of society from this day forward. And I hope everyone stays out of the hospitals. BUT if you have to go, be nice, those men and women are and always have been overworked and underappreciated! Let them know how much you appreciate their commitment to your health and well being.

Our hospitals has visitors limits…i have a scheduled test i cant miss but i will be screened at the door…we still need hospital but when uou dont it is best to stay out of them for now

Timmm…well said, especially about health care workers.

This is getting really crazy! I really think Trump has something to do with this bullshit and virus just to make him look good and get more people to vote for his ass! It’s important that GH people health comes first but there’s another way they can still keep making episodes, that they all goes day at the studio that’s one way they can keep filming, it just now getting really good and now you guys going to leave us hanging dry Until April 10.

If anyone runs out of disinfectants—-an aloe and rubbing alcohol concoction works great.
Bleach works the best for the “commodes”. If I could, I would bathe in bleach—-best invention for humankind’s hygiene. .
Change from your street clothes into your house clothes—spray your coats with Lysol between cleanings .
We keep disinfectant in mud/foot room, as we walk in from garage, so we do not forget to disinfect.
All of the above, and then some, is no different from what my mother has been doing since forever, and passed down to her children.
We will get through this. WE ARE AMERICAN!!

Celia, “Keeping America Clean!”

Hiyah, T—you bet—if we all do our part, no matter how small, we will overcome!!!!! We are one America—-greatest country in the world. Buying food for the elderly, and distributing it, goes a long way. I need to do something—-as Satan said: idle hands and all that jazz—
Yet, we still see and hear the partisan attacks, Timmmy!! This is not the time to criticize or offer nothing but insults by some of the media—-not the time to be a “jackass”—pardon my tongue.
Be safe, my friend.❤️

I’ve been watching General Hospital since 1972 with my mother. I would hate to see it go away. Because every time I watch I feel like with my mom again.

George Cheeks, CBS President & CEO, on Timeline to Launch New Daytime Drama, ‘The Gates’: “We’re So Focused on Getting it Right”

March 2024 will be remembered in the TV and soap world when the news broke that CBS is prepping a brand new daytime drama. Many had thought a major network would never bring a new daytime soap into the world, given that the last time it was attempted was 25 years ago when the now defunct Passions bowed on NBC.

However, The Gates is definitely in development and moving forward with some major players associated with it including: Michele Val Jean as The Gates writer, showrunner and one of its executive producers, and Sheila Ducksworth from NAACP Venture

Now, for the first time since its announcement, George Cheeks, the president and CEO of CBS and chief content officer for news and sports at Paramount+, spoke on the project that will feature a Black family as its central focus who live in a wealthy gated community.

Speaking with Vulture, and when asked if The Gates is really something that truly has a chance of getting on the air, Cheeks clarified, “It’s super real. And just to give you a little bit of the backstory,  when we hired Sheila Ducksworth to run the NAACP Venture, she and I had multiple meetings talking about what different genres she was going to lean into, and we talked a lot about daytime.”

Cheeks added, “One of the things that the data made very clear to both of us is that daytime soap operas over index with Black women, and yet when you look at soap operas, it’s usually sort of a white-led family with supporting characters that reflect more of our society. So we just thought, wouldn’t it be interesting to flip that and make the core anchor family a Black family, and then make the other characters reflect more the broader scope of society?”

The CEO gave props to Michele Val Jean,  and how Ducksworth came to the table with the former B&B and GH writer. “She found this great writer, Michele Val Jean, who’s been in the soap opera space for 30 years. She came up with a pitch, and we loved it,” shares Cheeks. “We brought Procter & Gamble into it as well, because if there were going to be (product) integrations, we could do it more holistically and organically. All of that is to say, we did a lot of work on the front end to put this together. So while yes, it’s development, it’s accelerated development.”

When prodded on the timeline of when The Gates could come to full fruition, Gates related, “The actual timeline and when we’re going to do it is still uncertain, because we want to get this right. I mean, there hasn’t been a new soap opera launch since I can’t even begin to tell you when. But we have great success with Bold and the Beautiful and Young and the Restless, and so we think we’re the right folks to be launching a new soap. I wish I could tell you more about exact timing, but we’re so focused on getting it right, and that will dictate when we’re ready to launch it.”

The CBS exec also shared that whether The Gates will wind up an hour soap or half-hour is not yet determined, but that it is being developed as an hour show.

So, after reading what George Cheeks, the CBS President & CEO had to say about ‘The Gates’, are you even more excited for what looks to the first new network soap in 25 years? Comment below.

Robyn Bernard, ‘General Hospital’s’ Terry Brock, Dead at 64

Former General Hospital star, Robyn Bernard, who played aspiring singer Terry Brock has died. She was 64-years-old.

Bernard’s body was found Tuesday in San Jacinto, California. A Riverside County Coroner told TMZ they identified the actress’ body using her fingerprints after deputies responded to a death investigation call on Tuesday March 12th.

Sources told the outlet that Bernard’s body was found in the wee hours of the morning. The cause of death has yet to be determined.

Bernard joined General Hospital back in 1984 as Terry Brock, the daughter of the abusive D.L. Brock (played by David Groh). Robyn remained on the ABC soap opera for six years before making her exit in 1990. At one point, Terry’s stepmother would become Bobbie Spencer (the late Jackie Zeman) when the nurse married her father.

Terry was involved in the Laurelton Murders storyline and after first setting her sights on Frisco Jones, wound up with killer Kevin O’Connor. Later, Terry was blamed for several murders and in the end killed Kevin in self-defense. In addition, Terry had a relationship with Dusty Walker played by none other than Shaun Cassidy.  She eventually left Port Charles after landing her own recording contract.

The last time GH Fans may have seen Bernard was in 2014, when she appeared at the GH Fan Club Weekend Past Cast event. Robyn is pictured below with the late Susan Brown (ex-Gail) at the fan gathering. She has been out of the limelight for several years.
