GENERAL HOSPITAL: What Is Finn Shooting Up?

Courtesy/ABC

Courtesy/ABC

The new week is set to kick off with all new episodes of General Hospital,  and viewers are left pondering, yet again, just what is Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael  Easton) shooting up?

On last Friday’s episode, Finn’s behavior was quite unusual when he screamed at Tracy (Jane Elliot) to wake up from her urgery that removed the larvae cyst and the infection form her brain.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Munro (Matt Cohen) with an assist from Finn.  When Tracy finally awakes, Finn is for the moment happy, and so too is Tracy who thanks Finn and touches his face.  However, as Finn heads to the elevators at GH, Griffin notices that Finn doesn’t seem to be looking well, and notes to Finn he should get some sleep.  He  has been up for the last 24 hours.   When Finn heads to the doctor’s locker room, he starts to seemingly go into withdrawal looking at himself in the mirror, looking at the bruises and track marks on his arm, and needing a fix of whatever he has been shooting up.   Finn has his paraphenilia in his locker, but as he finally gets to it he is interuppted by Griffin, who notes how off Finn seems to be, but blows it off to a long complicated surgery over Tracy’s case.   Later, a desperate Finn is sitting in the shower shooting up the drug.

Elsewhere in a touching moment, Tracy tells Monica (Leslie Charleson) she loves her and regrets not saying it before she went into surgery.  Nina (Michelle Stafford) gets upsetting news from Dr. Lee after she has sex with Franco (Roger Howarth) in hopes to become pregnant.  With Franco not wanting any biological children, and Nina’s baby obsession, the cracks are there for this relationship to tank!  Meanwhile, Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Anna (Finola Hughes) set things in motion to nab Carlos  (Jeffrey Vincent Parise):  Anna chlorforms Paul (Richard Burgi), Sonny tells Michael (Chad Duell) to look after the family, while Carly (Laura Wright) worries Sonny could end up shot again if he finds Carlos.

So, while Finn’s behavior is starting to emulate someone on heroin, doesn’t that seem too obvious?  Is he taking an experimental drug for research?  Is something medically wrong with him?  Share your theories in the comment section below!

To quote Duran Duran, “a lizard mixture!”

Double, double toil and trouble
Adder’s fork and blind-worm’s sting,
Lizard’s leg and howlet’s wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble, like a hell-broth boil and bubble.

Su…Pretty cool. Did you make this up?

Macbeth. Long believed to be a late add by a hand other than Shakespeare, right?

I bet thats your favorite recipe,,,lol,,,i might try it…lol

Rose, it’s from Shakespeare’s “Macbeth.” Su is quoting from the original soap writer… twins separated at birth, mistaken identities, unhappy marriages and murders galore from Mr. Shakespeare.

Thanks all for letting me know where “Su’s spell” comes from. One day I really must take the Shakespeare course I’ve promised myself.

Macbeth: Act VI, Scene I…..enter the witches around their cauldron.
Hey, su. Do you think Finn is a witch?

Su, this is the second time trying to right a wrong; LOL.
It should be ACT IV, not VI.
Thanks, moderators.

That’s what I think as well. I believe that he contracted some kind of illness in the course of his work (he is, after all, an infectious disease specialist), and that some kind of secretion from Roxy is what keeps the illness at bay – hence, a “service lizard.”

Great minds think alike, Moviegal.LOL. That is exactly what I said from the very first scene we saw Finn shoot up. Roxie’s venom is keeping him in check.

Definitely NOT heroine. He has a weird disease that uses something from that lizard

Then why did he just have Felix help him get into the Closet O Drugapalooza?

Lol….we’re on the same ‘vein’, Shay. His malady has EVERYTHING to do with his strange ‘bedfella’. Unless I’m totally off the mark. Finn is a really sick, lonely guy. No time for relationships, no matter how much we want him to be paired with anyone.
I also believe his work in this particular medical field became a necessity rather than an interest, as there is no cure. Now, it has become a need for survival? An addiction??
Is Tracy following this path?

That’s a huge syringe he’s using – and I find it interesting that he never fills it, just uses what’s inside. That’s too big of a syringe (IMO) for a junkie. Diabetics usually administer into a muscle (like in the belly or in a thigh) – not directly into the vein. We did get a clue, though, when he was having trouble opening the locker – apparently some sort of partial paralysis affects the hand on that arm.

I did notice that, Moviegal. I actually have never seen such a big syringe, except in hospitals/doctors ( he is one, lol). And, I am not familiar with whatever paraphernalia junkies use, either. But, as yourself, I doubt such a huge syringe would be necessary.
He did have difficulty opening the locker, as you observed; plus, I noticed the beads of sweat on his face, AND the frenetic, ‘irky’ behavior. Is that indicative of being in pain or going through withdrawal or both?
I hope this will come to a head sooner than later. This suspension in mid air dissipates the interest if taken too far.

I concur, CeeCeeGirl….This is not the tale of a filthy addict….we have a man with a genuine malady and it would seem his lady-lizard holds the only possibly curative elixir. Finn’s situation is totally gross, just as much as Tracy’s worms on the brain are….their mutual storyline is most definitely not a lunchtime delight!!! It absolutely turns my stomach, but if anyone can make it work, it’s Easton. Having said that, I can only hope he has no time for romance, since the only likely candidate at this point would seem to be the towel-bearing, maneating, one-woman “Welcome Wagon” committee otherwise known as Carly….and as a pair, I simply do not like them.

Hamilton Finn is really a lizard…he was turned into a human by those crazy Cassidines during a bizarre experiment to create a superior race…Hamilton who has super human abilities-extra strength and can catch flies with his tongue with lightening-like speed keeps his powers hidden as he is hiding from the Cassidines and also doesnt want anybody to know what he really is…he had escaped from the Cassidines 20 years ago but got a new face and new identity ect but to stay human he needs blood that is a mix of lizard blood and human blood-Tracys blood type is exactly what he needs and has been using her blood-this is why he was so desperate to become her doctor!!!…lol

Roxy was his lizard wife he hopes to make human too and will be played by Kris Kardashian-lol

Jiml…You out did yourself this time. Did you drink some “kool aid?”

You are on the right path, Jimmy. LOL. I always did maintain Roxie was more than his ‘pet’….in another life.
Thanks, Jimmy……this is the you I know. Love your levity….the hilarious banter between you and 4ever at the Days site ( Abby and Ben) was extraordinarily witty and oh, so enjoyable.

Jimh…lol…love it! Sort of like The Fly where the scientust turns into a hybrid of man and fly. Or, maybe he’s still Caleb and he’s taking an anti vampire concoction to keep him from turning!

Lol…thst’s from me, rebecca1…name keeps posting with extra letters…

PLEASE BE THIS. Can a PASSIONS story line be in the offing?!!! LOL.

It’s not herion that needs to be heated in a spoon
The stuff he shoots up is the color of beer or pee..LOL
It’s lizard juice !!
It cures vampirism or feeds a huge worm inside him !

I think finn is sick I don’t think he want anyone to know that’s why he’s doing what he’s doing…

Love that reference!!!!

Thank you@Molly Gray! Who’d have thought that such an arcane phrase from “New Moon on Monday” could ever make sense…..especially when applied to a totally different situation three decades after the fact! Perhaps Finn—and Roxy!—–are closet Durannies! LOL….

Why can’t they write a decent story for Michael E? Again, they have him coupled with a female lizard.
First there was Nina and now there is Roxy!

Oh, thank you, Harry!!!! Once again, we see eye on to eye on that certain character I regard as “LaNinaPhyllina”….and by the way, I meant to tell you that I loved your reference to Sylvia Plath a few weeks back. Believe you me, there are quite a few females of GH that I should love to stash into a “bell jar!”

Perhaps an experimental drug for some as of yet unknown illness he has. He was recently in Africa so perhaps he caught something there? Hmm.

Exactly, Theodora.

WITH SO MANY YOUNG PEOPLE OVERDOSING ON HEROIN.IT IS VERY DISTURBING TO SEE HIM DO THAT!

I felt the same on having to be so visual about his shooting up, no matter what it was. It wasn’t really necessary and grossed me out. And it’s not just young people if you follow the news, also adults.

Yeah, john. I think once was enough. We got the point. But showing it multiple times is pushing it.

He’s definitely not an addict imo. I think he may have something & this is his treatment. I think the signs that mimic withdrawal is just whatever illness he has taking over & the meds are needed to feel better.
I wanted him to be a cross between House (w/o the addiction) & Dr Hayward (AMC). Looks like I may have gotten it. But really much better. Great work by Michael Easton.

It’s Caleb Morley, shooting up True Blood….

First, Michael Easton is playing the hell out of these scenes. Amazing work! I definitely think he is using himself in research. One, because, like Mr Fairman said, heroin is too obvious. Two, what junkie makes notations in a book each time they shoot up?

Yup, Becca. jimh did say that he was using himself as the subject of an experiment.
What puts these scenes under a negative light is some of the locations….like a sewer rat. On a bathroom floor; locker-room etc. Where next? Under the subway dark stairwell?
it’s just gross. But, I would think he needs to inject whenever the need calls. This need also seems to be sporadic.
As you just stated, Finn makes notations for each injection, which is a tell-tale sign that he is, indeed, timing each interval. Good catch, Becca.

Well, damn, if Finn would stop interrupting him, he wouldn’t’ have to do it on the bathroom floor. Anyone else though maybe Finn would need that shower? hehehe And Carly …. knock!!! And seriously the whole premise of her delivering those cheap a** towels was ridiculous.

This storyline is very interesting. On the one hand, the size of the syringe and amount of drug he is injecting is way too large to be heroin. On the other hand, if it’s medication, why is it unlabeled and hidden in a leather pouch. Either was, Easton is intriguing and is portraying Finn beautifully. Love this story!

I’m thinking Finn, being a bit of a rebel and independent person, was searching the “world’s pharmacy” for an eco-cure and by providence met up with Roxie. And now he’s using himself as a guinea pig. Wonder how Roxie got her name? Speaking of names…remember earlier when some were wondering where Finn’s name originated? It’s also the name of one of the new Star Wars stars…another Disney/ABC “placement” coincidence? Whatever, I like it. Why is he in Port a Charles? Because Monica called him because she remembered him from a med conference? Being a soap there has to be more.

Heroin does seem to be a bit obvious so I reserve judgment about whatever it is he’s shooting up. If it is heroin; I guess TPTB are trying to give Michael Easton some meaty material to work with. A quirky life saving doctor with a drug problem is quite different from his other roles. I’ll stay on board for now. I am a fan of Michael Easton’s so I certainly interested in how this character will be developed. I am also glad to see they are holding to their word so far by focusing on his character and not immediately connecting him with a love interest. I like getting to know the character before forming an attachment to a pairing.

I imagine it has something to do with the reason why Olbrecht was reluctant yo give him hospital privileges. She’s been hinting at knowing something about him. Hope they reveal it soon. Right now Finn is presenting as a bundle of anxieties and eccentricities. While it’s intriguing for now, if we don’t get an explanation soon it’s going to start to get annoying. I think GH has picked up the pace of storytelling in the last few weeks and I hope they continue to do so.

The other thing I am wondering is if Griffin is too good to be true. He’s been presented to us as almost the perfect man in sharp contrast to Finn. Nathan had a little bit of that too until his recent Claudette revelation.

Speaking of pacing, one thing I ask of the writers is that when (and if) Brad and Lucas finally marry, please tell us why Brad was forced to get married to R in the first place and how he extricated himself from the marriage. (It’s been so long since that storyline unfolded I can’t even remember R’s full name. Was it Rosalie?) I know the current writers inherited that story, but I really think they need to give it closure and tell us something — anything — about how it was resolved. Even if we have to go through some terrible exposition to find out!

Melissa…Agree on all of your points.

Vampire?

Lol… I suggested above msybe he’s Caleb taking some anti vampire drug!

Hamilton Finn is Tracys son???

Finn is going to have some odd rare disease and is using the Dragon/Lizzard blood or saliva or something to make some concoction that he needs. I for one am intrigued and looking forward to seeing where this story takes us.

I bet he has what Tracy has and those drugs keep him alive. Maybe that’s why he told her family it isn’t over yet.

There we go, Ces, thinking alike, again……Tracy and her ‘worms’ in the brain have had a link for me as soon as I saw Finn injecting himself, and feeling so strongly about what ailed her was a dead give-away.
And, the emphasis/focus on Roxy says much.

Heyyy CeeCee – lol!! I think lizard juice may be what keeps Finn alive. The antidote is in the juice and now Tracy will need it. I can’t imagine GH would bring ME back to play a druggie – where would that get them? Hopefully we will see much more of Finn & Tracy together! (not that like, haha!)

@Ces.
Hi, Ces?…whatever that juice is goes straight into Finn.
It looks like Tracy is on the mend. Does that mean Roxy’s ‘bad medicine’ got into her as well?….via Finn’s fat syringe.

@Ces.
PS.
Yeah, Ces…why is Finn always interrupted at the most inopportune time? It’s as though TPTB want him to be found out by somebody.

He’s shooting up a “life syrum” . I think he’s a character from the past that has returned to Port Charles. Dr Finn and the past character, with age, could pass for twins. That’s all I’m saying right now.

Hmmmm. Good premise. I like it, Sharon.

I’m agreeing with Ces above. I think at some point he may end up having to inject Tracy with the same serum as he is using on himself.

Think Roxy is keeping him in serum for whatever it is that is ailing the good Dr. Finn!

yes JoanneG – I think so 🙂 Love Roxie!! And she eats organic … must need it for the serum. lol!! can’t shoot bad thing in your veins after all, right?

Lol, Ces. You call it juice; I called it venom extracted from Roxy. I suspected it from the get-go. However, I like your word, ‘juice’ much better than venom. I am assuming Finn has to refine the liquid and sterilize it before injecting it. LOL.
If you recall, Finn knew just from one examination that Tracy’s ‘problem’ showed symptoms in which he was well versed. Thus, the similarities.
I wonder what Griffin has to do with this? He was so emphatic about Tracy not having cancer…..he was almost positive she had been mis-diagnosed. How did he know? He explained something about Mexico, and having seen these symptoms before….brain-matter-eating maggots, contracted by eating fetid food. Does that mean that there is a mysterious link between Finn and Griffin?

haha, lizard juice! 😉
Hmm… I think there is a lot more to Griffin then just being Duke’s son so time will tell if he knows more. I hope GH trims some of the dead weight cast so they can develop Finn & Griffin more; two characters I like and two actors I like. I’m all for seeing more Q time too and anytime Jane Elliot has a story, I’m happy.

I find the storyline disturbing. I don’t watch soaps to be creeped out.

Maybe Michael Easton got food poisoning when he and Frank Valenti were at the supermarket together?

Tracy has ALWAYS loved Monica deep down!

Michele FINALLY found herself and her character Nina should dump that loser Freako!

Sonny+Anna=Sanna!

Lol, Timmmy. I also suspect that as gruff as Tracy is, she loves Monica. How can anyone co-inhabit together, share the same space without developing loving feelings.
Were the Quartermaines the first family in PC?
Please, Timmm….no, no no…. NO SANNA!! We don’t want Anna defiled by being another notch on Sonny’s sullied belt, do we? Besides, think of Carly.

Tracy and Monica were mega enemies when Monica’s husband Alan was alive. It was nasty but Alan is gone, they are each getting older and maybe realize that they dont have many left in their lives so, what the hell!

We have mega GH aficionados on this site that may correct me but without googling, the Q’s were and are PC “First Family!” Now I know that when the show started the Hardys kicked off the show and the Baldwins were featured and there was a lady name Amanda Barrington who was very rich BUT to me, the Q’s were THE first rich, loving and back stabbing family on GH.

Cee, Anna was a double agent back in her day. She is not so innocent. Remember more recently her and Robert threw Faison in a hole and left him for dead. Now, Sonny boy is just a thug with dimples BUT the two of them together, well it never happened so I guess I’m enjoying the freshness of it all but I dont see them as a couple. Carly might be to Sonny what Drinki is to Victor on Y&R!

@Timmm.
Well, my Timmmy….when you put it that way….love it. Thank you.
So, in other words, Sonny and Carly; ‘Drinki-Nikki and Victor are each other’s addiction? You’re right!!

Hey, CeeCeeGIrl!!!….We are so on the same page when it comes to a possible pairing of Anna and Sonny….DO NOT GO THERE! Our Divine Devane has already suffered too many romantic indignities these past few years….first there was the Robin grief affair with that rickety roué, Luke, that was beyond questionable, then the Duke grief sex with the slimy Sloan (recast) which also made my skin crawl. Other than Robert, the only man to whom I could now even envision our Anna baring her soul—and all else—is the dreamy Griffin. I know that the verdict is still out on his real story, but there already is a chemistry and bond drawing these two together, and I shan’t expect that such a promising possible romance would be ignored for a cheap and tawdry hookup with the Latin Lover (Legend in his own mind….) Sonny. Just say no to that notion! As for the “towel-bearing” Carly, and her recent brushes with the mysterious, “have lizard, will travel,” Finn? I’m just as adamant that they not be joined in any sort of physical relationship….the Corinthi richly deserve each other, and now that they’ve made their “marital bed” for the umpteenth time, they should have to lie in it….together!!!!!

@Shay.
Hi, Shay.
The thought of Anna and Sonny falling for each other would cause my stomach to lurch, but, not as much as duplicating the scene in that Equadorian Church, to a scene from a Sicilian, Neopolitan or Calabrian mafia movie. To me, it was more of a satirical flop than anything else.
It was laughable and sad at the same time, given the fact that Italian priests have been massacred so often by ‘La Cosa Nostra’. Meanwhile these souless men attend Mass every Sunday, baptize their children in the Church and ‘follow’ its dictates.
Did you catch the irony, Shay? The ‘Padre’ was used as a patsy in that rustic, hovel of a Church….what gives?
Italy is a world away from the bowels of South America. And, the symbolism did not wash with me. The town of Corleone is in Sicily, not in Equador. Sonny is not Italian. But, he is doggedly represented as one. It would have made a lot more sense if that Church scene had taken place in Sicily, Naples, or Calabria.

As for suggesting that Sonny and Carlos should have taken their deadly games to beautiful “Italia” instead? I’m just as glad they didn’t go there….as of late, that blessed nation has been besieged by more than enough underserved trouble, not only due to the famous homegrown criminal element, but by courtesy of foreign invaders, so even if it’s only two less via GH storytelling, then I will consider it to be a small favor to the inspirational land that has contributed so much to mankind in terms of culture, cuisine, fashion, etc.

Well, CeeCeeGirl, Sonny and Carly certainly do deserve each other…they’ve both done despicable, unspeakable deeds and broken their (oft-repeated) marital vows to one another over and over again, and yet, at the end of the day, all roads lead them back to Casa de Corinthos. As for the “Dimpled Don” himself and the constantly mixed messages on his heritage, I think there should a disclaimer crawl that reads “Sonny is not Italian….” every single time he appears in a GH scene to finally clear up that misconception.

@CeeCee….I meant, “should be a disclaimer crawl across the bottom of the screen that reads “Sonny is not Italian…..”

@Timmm…..Count me in with CeeCee on nixing a proposed Sonny-Anna tryst! To rephrase your clever portmanteau, let’s just say that it would be utter IN-SANNA-TY!

Sorry Shay, sorry Cee, SANNA Claus is coming!!!

Hi, ShayShay,
True, Shay. Because of its vulnerable location; that is, encircled by the Thyrrenean, the Ionian and the Mediterranean, Italy is forced to ‘house’ unwanted visitors….and, invaders. And, lets not forget what is governing to its north….
However, the scenery could have been faked as everything else. Or, continue with the South American theme. Why borrow scenes from what truly happens in many churches dpread throughout the ‘paesetti’ of southern Italy?
I could understand a drug cartel involvement/imbroglio, but Sonny, as he is, does not have the physical, cultural nuances typical of a true member of COSA NOSTRA, which means OUR THING, literally. ITALIAN IS OUR THING. No one else, Shay. Perhaps ‘they’ should have recruited Michael Imperioli as Sonny’s buddy to take care of anything with a semblace of Italian ‘malavita’ for him. That would have worked for me.
So, this is just my feeling….what makes Sonny tick, should be switched-up a bit ….have him take it home another way….Bernard is such a good actor…let him be himself and not a shadow of an Italian bandito. Bad representation because Sonny just does not have the right characteristics. It is not realistic, ….not to me . Later, cara.

Lol, Shay. Let’s leave all Sonny’s portmanteaux (probably filled with weapons), for his clothes…ready to exit. I doubt the morpheme words would go right over Sonny’s head.
I am starting to get used to Sonny and Carly. In their own twisted way, they do love each other….even at an impossible cost. And, I adore Laura Wright. I would not like another split just to repeat the same caca. They’d only end up marrying again, anyway. So let’s leave this couple be. YEAH!!

Sorry, Shay. I meant to the north-east, as in Eastern Europe.

Me thinks not, Timmmbo! Sonny has already had his hand in the knickers of far too many Port Charles females, and Anna—along with Laura—-need to remain off-limits to this Latin Lover with the uncanny knack to impregnate on the first tryst. Maybe instead he and “Rachel Berlin” can give it a spin, eh?????

In a perfect soap world Sonny would reunite with Lilly and Anna would cuddle back up with our favorite kangaroo, Robert! But either seem to be in the horizon. I would LOVE to know how much Tristan gets paid over at CBS to not appear on GH? Or Y&R? He is never on! Hayden is not Sonny’s type. I like HICK! I get screen burns on my TV when those two make love! By the way Shay, I would cast Don Johnson as Raymond Berlin.

Au contraire, Timmbo! I’m one of those who consider the “click boom” moment to be the gift that keeps on giving to Port Charles! No Lilly again….ever! As for Anna being reunited with our favorite Aussie? Oh yes, GH can never have enough Robert Scorpio! In terms of Rachel and Sonny? He has the money, so she’d gladly give the honey…..that’s just how she operates! Don Johnson as Raymond Berlin? Would work for me, but I doubt he’d do daytime….but there are so many debonair males of a certain age who could play the role….jimh mentioned Charles Grant, and I also like Grant Show, and too many others to name now. It really depends upon the age of the guy….is he supposed to be a silver fox of retirement years or younger? I get the impression he is a contemporary of Tracy’s, which means the former.

At least this character is interesting. He’s definitely NOT shooting heroine. I’m looking for him & Carly to get together

ahhh what is in the serigine feeds a huge worm living inside him..

Lol, su. So, Finn doesn’t want to destroy the worm; he wants to harvest it? Maybe his plan is to inject every patient in hospital with a worm? He will then cure everyone and come out the hero.

I don’t know! I think he could actually be using heroin, but only because it’s so timely now. You can’t watch the news anymore without hearing about someone using heroin. I think that Michael Easton might’ve been attracted to the character of Finn because it’s totally different than anything we’ve seen him do — including the shooting up aspect.

On the other hand, and the much safer bet, it probably is some kind of drug that he needs in order to keep him alive. He’s trying to cure something he has. I don’t think the lizard is involved in the cure, though. I just think the lizard is there to make Finn more quirky.

I’m looking forward to learning more about Finn’s family life. Hopefully, he has one! I also want to see who he’ll be romantically linked to. I hope it’s someone good, and someone that I’ll like, and certainly not the same old-same old!

Is Finn shooting up medicine or drugs? Playing a junkie would be a real meaty role for Michael, a story he would certainly deliver. I’m liking the role out of Finn, he seems like a real interesting character.

I can’t wait to see who his romantic interest will be. I hope it’s someone new. I have no interest in seeing any of his ex’s on GH, except for one of his former leading ladies who is currently occupied with Hamilton. About that name Hamilton, I wonder ME had anything to do with picking his character’s first name

Your comment, Olivia, caught my eye. Soooo very meaningful. I remember writing an essay on Alexander Hamilton in High School where it was, much, much later, assumed that he had bipolar disorder.
The disease was so misunderstood; the times did not steer towards such a diagnosis.
Moreover, Hamilton contracted YELLOW FEVER and survived. So, kudos to you. Finn is Hamilton’s re-encarnation. He will survive and develop a cure for Tracy and the world.
The Finn storyline has to be more sophisticated and dramatic, of course; but, there’s the link.
Now, the name ‘Finn’ holds pride and altruism on itself……as in Irish lore, the name Finn is assimilated to Finn Mac Cumhail, a facsimile of Robin Hood……I just love this stuff!!

Michael’s Facebook post he made today says it all. Renee Goldsberry has been nominated foe a Tony, congrats to her. Oh how I wish she could make a guest appearance on GH , as a lover from Finn’s past lover.

There was a line about Finn doing research with Carbonic Snow so if Ron — or anyone else was writing — I would assume that was some foreshadowing to later tie the character to the Cassadines. Since it’s Jean and Shelly I can’t muster much interest since their last “big” reveal — after weeks of build-up — was that Hayden was Rachel Berlin (daughter of Raymond Berlin, master of the off-camera Ponzi scheme). Also, I’m not sure why the show thinks I should invest much concern for a character who has only been on screen for a couple of weeks…

Finn has a rare disease and whatever he is shooting up comes from the lizard. Maybe the same thing as Tracy but worse.

Been off the soap since last June – couldn’t take the writing anymore…. but I check this site on occasion to see if there’s anything worth returning for… so far, there hasn’t been but this sounds kind of interesting and I may look online for old eps and catch up.. Like Michael Easton and this sounds like a very interesting storyline – big thanks to whomever on the writing team named the lizard Roxie. 🙂 I love stuff like that.

Maybe he’s a vampire who needs the drug so he can go out in day light and resist the urge to attack someone. He did react badly to Griffins comment about God. Just throwing that idea out there lol

He obviously has a condition and Roxy or her venom or secretions are helping sustain him. I know Michael does dark well but it’s is hard to watch him like this.

GH needs help. It is the worst of all possible things — boring. 🙁 The only interesting storyline right now is Hayden/Rachel.

Amen Kevin O!

My thoughts lead to the idea again of a past character that’s also a unique “cross breed”.

Nancy Lee Grahn’s Star-Studded ALS Fundraiser Reveals “I’ll Be There” Video Featuring Soap Opera Notables

Talk about your impressive line-up! It’s a soap fans dream and for a great cause. General Hospital’s Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) is prepping her one-night only ALS fundraiser which will feature many of her friends and co-stars.

The benefit is set for May 4th in Glendale, California. Slated to participate are Genie Francis, Jane Elliot, Peter Bergman, Maurice Benard, Eileen Davidson, Thorsten Kaye, Michelle Stafford, Stephen Nichols, Rena Sofer, Jason Thompson, Kelly Monaco, Melissa Claire Egan, Maura West, Kristina Wagner, Gregory Harrison, Trevor St. John, Kate Mansi, Kirsten Storms, Cynthia Watros, and many others.

On Wednesday, Grahn took to her social media and released an “I’ll be there” video shout-out featuring, Monaco, Elliot, Bergman, Bernard, West, Harrison, St. John and more. In a touching and important moment in the new video, Michelle Strogny, who is battling ALS, is featured.

Photo: ABC

Previously, in speaking with Soap Opera Digest on the impetus of the event, Grahn recalled, “I was actually doing Zoom events during Covid and I met this woman that I just fell in love with, Michelle Strojny. At the time, Michelle had been living with ALS for four years. Now, it’s five years. She is a mom of a teenage son, she has the most wonderful husband, and she has been dealing with this [disease] for quite a while. And obviously, there isn’t a cure yet. It’s not survivable yet. But as she says, it’s not incurable. Nothing is; it’s underfunded. But anyway, I just really dug this woman. She is so grounded and filled with grace, and she spends all of her time working to raise money for the cause. We did a fundraiser for her last year and then I thought, ‘You know what? The soaps don’t ever get together to do something for charity.’ Collectively, we have this amazing community and we don’t collectively use it for a good cause, and I think it’s such an easy thing for us to do and we could potentially really make a difference.”

As GH viewers know, Gregory Harrison is playing the character of Gregory Chase, who is also battling ALS in a touching storyline that is currently playing out shedding a light on this disease.

For information on Nancy’s event, including the stars who are s scheduled to participate click here. To purchase tickets to the event click here.

Check out the video featuring Nancy’s friends and co-stars below.  Now let us know, your thought son the line-up for the benefit and helping raise awareness and funds for ALS research via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Writer Shannon Peace Let Go, and Shares on Sprina: “One of My Only Regrets is to Not Have the Opportunity to Develop That ‘Ship’ Further”

As General Hospital’s new head writing team of Elizabeth Korte and Patrick Mulcahy gets off the ground and running, there are still changes a foot on the writing team.

Now comes word via breakdown writer Shannon Peace that she is no longer on contract with the long-running ABC soap heading into its 61st season. Peace shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram, thanking the fans, and the show for the opportunity and the importance of diversity in the writers room.

Peace began, “After almost 3 years on staff and 106 episodes penned, I am no longer on contract with General Hospital. Writing for this country’s longest running television serial drama has been an education of epic proportions; I will forever be grateful that I earned my WGA card on a daytime fixture that holds memories for so many.” (Peace pictured below with GH EP Frank Valentini and script writer, Charlotte Gibson from about ten months ago).

Shannon added “Even more importantly, as the sole Black breakdown writer (and only POC in the writers room) during my tenure, I pushed for vital interactions and discussions that prioritized inclusion, visibility, and representation”

The writer pointed to the example of vital interaction when in story, “Stella and Portia’s frank July 2022 conversation about the role race played in Esme’s framing of Trina is just one example of the impact I’m gratified to have had.”

Acknowledging former GH co-head writers was also part of Peace’s farewell expressing, “Appreciation to my former bosses, Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor – not only taking a chance on me, but for valuing my opinion and championing my voice.”

Many GH fans know that Peace was key to the development of the love story between Trina Robinson and Spencer Cassadine as played by Tabyana Ali and Nicholas Chavez. Shannon gave a special shout-out to ‘Sprina’ fans, “I also want to thank fans who were supportive of my work, especially the recognition of my love for ‘Sprina’. One of my only regrets is not having to develop that ‘ship’ further.”

She concludes her statement with,”In the aftermath of a historic writer’s strike that shed new light on the troubling ways writers are regarded in daytime, my sincere hope is that General Hospital recommits to valuing staff writer efforts and input, with a more intentional focus on diverse viewpoints — and thrives for another 60 years.”

Accompanying her post, Shannon added, “Thank you all for the love and support these last few years. I hope GH fans get all they hope for and more!”

So, what do you think about GH not renewing Shannon’s contract? Will there be more continued changes afoot? What do you think is the future of ‘Sprina’ anyway at this point as viewers wait to see if Nicholas Chavez officially returns to the show?  Comment below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Learns Britt Died and Tells Anna He Has Been Working For Cates Since November 2021

On the Tuesday, March 26th of General Hospital, Anna (Finola Hughes) and the viewers learn about where Jason (Steve Burton) has been for over two and half years. However, Jason gets some news of his own.

Anna is visiting Jason at the PCPD interrogation room. She asks him if he shot Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), which he flatly denies. Anna believes him, but she tells Jason it doesn’t matter, because video footage shows him on the roof at the time of the shooting

When talk turns to Jason not willing to speak without his lawyer present, Anna can’t grasp why Jason would instead spend an hour alone talking with John Cates (Adam J. Harrington).

It is then that Anna brings up that John went by “Jagger” and that the two of them knew each other in high school. Jason doesn’t recall much of his time in high school following his brain injury, but then he gets furious realizing John knew about “Jason’s” past. That is when Jason slams the table and tells Anna, “I’ve been working for John Cates since November 2021.”

Next, Jason explains further that he has been working as an informant for the FBI. Anna wants to know how this came about and he tells her that after the tunnel collapsed, and he couldn’t make it to Britt (Kelly Thiebaud)… all of a sudden he sees Anna’s face drop.  Anna is the first person to tell him that Britt died and was murdered. She tells Jason the killer is in custody, but he continues to be shocked, overwhelmed with tears welling up in his eyes. Realizing he has to pivot to save his life, Jason continues telling Anna how he wound up working with John.

Jason explains that after the tunnel collapse in Greece, FBI agents grabbed him and placed him under arrest and took him to Quantico where he met John. At Quantico, John played a recording of RICO violations and offered Jason a deal if he agreed to be an informant against Pikeman, the illegal arms dealer.

Anna hears from Jason that he thinks Pikeman is selling illegal arms to anyone flagged by the NSA but has ties to the WSB which they needed a civilian to infiltrate their organization as a military soldier, a mercenary.

Jason tells Anna he was a part of the team brought into eliminate Sonny (Maurice Benard). Every time an attempt was made on Sonny’s life over the last two years, a different team was sent to do the job. Anna gets furious when she learns that John told Jason his job was to kill Sonny and she was with John at the warehouse that night. Jason ensured the sniper missed Sonny and left the rifle behind. However, they were supposed to meet an extraction team. Before he was shot, Dante saw it was Jason on the roof and when he turned around with his hands over his head, Dante was shot by the other guy. Jason says if Dante dies, he’ll be charged with capital murder and then will be useless to the FBI.

Meanwhile, John visits Bobbie’s and runs into Carly (Laura Wright). She learns Jason is in custody and is going to head to the PCPD. Before she does, Carly has some words with Cates when she learns not only does John have a vendetta against Sonny, but Jason too.  Carly tells John he should recuse himself from the case.

So, what did you think about the moment when Jason learned Britt died? What do you think of Jason’s return storyline thus far and what we learned about Jagger/Jason and more? Comment below. But first, check out a moment from today’s GH with Jason and Anna.
