Sunday night during Fox’s presentation of the Emmy Awards, How To Get Away With Murder star Viola Davis took home the gold for her performance in the Lead Actress in a Drama Series category.  The win was historic.  It was the first time an African-America woman has won in this category in this the 67th time the Television Academy have been handed out.  The awards honor the best in the previous primetime television season.

Davis’ speech has been heralded as the best of the night.  It paid tribute to other African-American actresses and how far TV has come when Viola delivered these words:  “In my mind, I see a line. And over that line, I see green fields and lovely flowers and beautiful white women with their arms stretched out to me over that line. But I can’t seem to get there no how.  I can’t seem to get over that line.’  That was Harriet Tubman in the 1800s. And let me tell you something:  The only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity. You cannot win an Emmy for roles that are simply not there. So, here’s to all the writers, the awesome people that are Ben Sherwood, Paul Lee, Peter Nowalk, Shonda Rhimes.  People who have redefined what it means to be beautiful, to be sexy, to be a leading woman, to be black. A nd to the Taraji P. Hensons and Kerry Washingtons, the Halle Berrys, the Nicole Beharies, the Meagan Goodes, to Gabrielle Union. Thank you for taking us over that line. Thank you for the Television Academy. Thank you. ”

However, immediately following the speech, General Hospital’s Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis), who is very active and political on Twitter, took issue with the words related in Viola’s acceptance speech that was clearly resounding as an emotional moment to viewers around the world watching the live ceremonies.

Grahn began sending out tweets which included: “I wish I loved Viola Davis speech, but I thought she should have let Shonda Rimes write it.”  She responded to a follower adding:  “Try being any woman on TV.  Wish she’s brought every woman into the picture.  I wish I’d get the opportunity to play the roles she gets.”  Grahn also tweeted:  “Viola Davis winning lead actress Emmy’s historic. My upset is acting awards don’t fix racial injustice. As an actor I see how irrelevant we r.”  Following with:  “I never mean to diminish her accomplishment. I wish I could get her roles. She is a goddess. I want equality 4 ALL women, not just actors.”   In response to another follower, Grahn added:  “I do 2. I think shes the bees knees but she’s elite of TV performers. Brilliant as she is, she’s never been discriminated against.”   In addition, there was one tweet that was deleted by Grahn, but captured by Buzz Feed: “I’m a f–king actress for 40 yrs. None of us get respect or opportunity we deserve. Emmys not venue 4 racial opportunity. ALL women belittled.”

After receiving a thrashing on Twitter, Grahn began to make efforts to apologize tweeting:  “I apologize 2 anyone who I offended. I’m women advocate since I became one. After reading responses, I hear u and my tweet was badly phrased.” She then added:  “Schooled. As surrogate 2 last democratic presidents I thought I needed no lesson in equality. I was wrong. Please accept my apology.”   Nancy followed with: “I apologize for my earlier tweets and now realize I need to check my own privilege. My intention was not to take this historic and important moment from Viola Davis or other women of color but I realize that my intention doesn’t matter here because that is what I ended up doing. I learned a lot tonight and I admit that there are still some things I don’t understand but I am trying to and will let this be a learning experience for me.”

As the vitriol continued on Grahn, the Daytime Emmy-winning actress was up very late into the wee hours of Monday morning trying to rectify the matter.  Nancy then tweeted: “I’ve taking a whoopin 2night and as u can see will rightfully stay up all night to talk to you.”  Next Nancy tweeted:  “3am.Tried 2 respond 2 u with love as I should, Gotten mostly condescension & vitriol.  Tomorrow, new day. Wont begin it with anything but love.”   Finally:  “30 yrs an advocate 4 human rights & now I’m a racist. Color me heartbroken. Twitter can bring out the best & sadly tonight the worst of us.”

Even Oscar and Emmy winner Patricia Arquette jumped on the Grahn backlash adding: “Stop that right now.  It is a venue for whatever the WINNER wants to say.  It is her win.  She is saying something that is proven.”    This morning many mainstream media outlets from USA Today, The Wrap, TV Guide, and US Weekly are all reporting this Twitter firestorm from last night. Nancy was even trending on Twitter after Viola’s victory for her comments and the ensuing backlash late Sunday, and on into Monday morning.

So, is this another case in the dangers of Twitter: the good, the bad, the ugly?  Were you offended by Nancy’s tweets pertaining to Viola’s historic Emmy win and the #HTGAWM star’s speech?   Were you touched by Viola’s acceptance speech?  Do you think now that Nancy has served up apologizes on Twitter; it’s time to move on from this?  Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

Nancy is VERY opinionated. When you mix in race, politics and religion AND your tweeting, its a recipe for disaster! Those three subjects will ALWAYS offend someone. If I were her I would stick to her life and her family and STOP TWEETING!

@Timmm…BRAVO!!! No Twitter, No Facebook, No social media of any kind!!!
Most would say Nancy is privileged in her own right, being gainfully employed
for decades on “Soaps” and yet she came across as being envious. Shame
on her, she should walk in gratitude everyday.

Hi, Fanny.
Yes, Nancy does sound envious, and chanting, ‘oh, woe be me’. It certainly appears that way. But, I actually read what she said three times. I really don’t think she intentionally tried to put anyone down. It seems more as if she has had a tougher time, as a woman, getting a desired role. You know, that ole double standard. I do agree with you, that she should not practice the old adage of ‘sour grapes’ considering her steady job. I still think she was speaking for all women who have yet to be en par with their male counterpart….on any field.

@CeeCee… Hi you…
I’ve been a great supporter of Nancy since her fist day on the
long gone soap Santa Barbara… Like you I do believe she
wanted to be the VOICE of women everywhere, However
for someone who does know better… Her words Spiraled.

I see that, now, Fanny. Her words did spiral and resonate, according to all the negative remarks. If she truly believes what she preaches, then she has a right to have her voice heard. But, as Harry indicated, not only was there a possibility for Nancy to be inebriated, but she is also in the habit of firing such harmful verbal missiles. I am so torn. I feel sorry for her in one way; digging such a hole for herself, but, at the same time, she should have known better. I don’t follow any celebrity, or their lifestyle or anything….I just watch my soaps and a few shows.

Sorry, it is taking me forever to type this, mon amie. I hurt my shoulder hanging from the monkey bars with my son, today….HURTS!!!!! LOL.

@CeeCee… Hi Sweetie, Hope your shoulder heals quickly.
Sending gentle hugs your way…

Im always checking out Nancy’s twitters…they are fine to me…lol

I’m rarely on Twitter and I dont follow her. Its nothing personal but I really dont care much whats going on with actors outside of these shows. If you watch the Emmy coverage the other night the “Stars” perception on reality is rather twisted! Every other word out of their mouth is AMAZING, WONDERFUL or BRILLIANT!

Well said Timmm and JimH! They get awards every year for their work. I think it is silly. If they win, they carry on like they saved the world or invented the cure for polio. 🙂 I think Cher said something like that? LOL

Well said Timmm!

Thanks Ces.

@Timmm…So true and accurate.

Sorry Timmm, you did not get the joke about me checking out NGs twitters? It jokingly meant something else…lol

Sorry Jim, I was on a roll! You meant her “Grahn” Canyons!

@jimh…..You (and Timmm….) are naughty, naughty boys! Don’t stop…..LOL.

yep, thats what i meant…and that was funny Grahn Canyons…lol

You bet it’s funny, jimh. That’s our Timmm.

I don’t see what she said was so bad at all. This whole firestorm is ridiculous! And I’m black!

30 year Nancy Lee Grahn fan here and I, too, am disappointed.

I’m a NANCY LEE GRAHN FAN ALMOST THIRTY YRS,since age 11 sorry.imo i m not as ANGRY AS MOST …NANCY GRAHN VOICE HER OWN OPINE. i love her and i support NANCY LEE GRAHN OPINE even if i do not agree.
GH will be stupid to let an incredible ACTRESS like her go. NANCY LEE GRAHN, is needed on GH and she did not say the N word or something like that.I love her advocacy and i accept her apology and love her brilliant acting.. I am happy her co-stars are standing up for her as i just validate on FB and on twitter et.al.,
LOVE YOU NANCY…But like SHERRI SHEPARD a huge fan of gh said some things, should not be said publicly so maybe she was a lil tipsy, but i accept her apology.

Lets move on.
LOVE YOU NANCY LEE!

Thank you Patricia. This is a mixture of people coming off the wrong way and taking things the wrong way. I hope you don’t take this the wrong way since it is hard in just print, on the internet, to come off the way one wants to, but Black America and America itself has come a LONG way since the days of Harriet Tubman! Viola is young, I don’t know how old she is, but maybe she’s a couple of generations beyond when OVERT prejudice existed in America, like when the famous Woolworth counter four broke ground. I agree there is still prejudice by some people but at least it’s not so OVERT. Nancy was trying to say that ALL WOMEN were being prejudiced against in their industry, and she was upset that Viola appeared to only focus on the black women.

This all women mantra is perplexing to me because all women are eligible for the Emmy, yet this is the 1st time in the history of the Emmys that a BLACK woman has won the award! So no not ALL women are treated equally. Not all roles are created equally either. Not all women are regulated to roles of the maid, happy sidekick, crazy ethnic pal, etc. Hollywood is making progress but still, it seems like the world of Hollywood revolves around only one culture. And to say that Blacks have come a long way and shouldn’t complain? Myopic and condescending. Nancy proclaims herself a liberal, but in that moment, she wasn’t. She was envious, petty and insulting to her peers. I hope she learns what it means to be a true ally, actually learn about Viola’s acting journey and get a clue. Twitter has some real tough characters when they are angry, but nothing compared to the real life hurt of being African American in this country and just trying to achieve equity.

Oh, by the way…in case someone does misunderstand what I am trying to say, I know what prejudice is and it hasn’t always and isn’t always against only blacks…there are Asians, Native Americans, Latinos…and I myself who am half Dane, a quarter German, and a quarter French have experienced prejudice…it’s just at the time when the prejudicial acts occurred, I was in Kindergarten and did not know that’s what was happening. My dad was an American WW2 GI who married a German woman, took him over five years to get her properly immigrated, and when I was in Kindergarten I was sent to mandatory speech therapy. It was only when I became an adult that my mother told me it was because I had a German accent!

I agree Patricia.

This is the price of being opinionated and rushing to share your opinions on social media. The reaction is symptomatic of the contentious new society we live in. While the situation is unfortunate for everyone affected, the whole thing will blow over soon enough.

Unfortunately, we live in a time when we need to think about what we write on social media, especially if the person is a celebrity. I appreciate the fact that NLG acknowledged her mistake and immediately offered a heartfelt apology. There is not a book written telling people that almost EVERYTHING can be misconstrued in the public eye. Look no further at Comments under each story on Facebook and other social media outlets as proof.

As a white female in the acting community, I am sure Nancy was speaking for WOMEN having prejudices against them in a male-dominated industry. Most likely, she was addressing the disparity in paychecks in Hollywood for men versus women.

Viola Davis is an amazing actress and has had great success since “The Butler.” It is unfair for anyone to say she has not seen prejudice in Holllywood because no one has walked in her shoes. She is middle-aged, so I can only assume that she has had her share of rejection through the years, whether it be because she is a woman, black, “too dark,” “too skinny” or simply because someone might have wanted a Halle Barry look.

I have presented two sides of the story. NLG has as much right to voice her opinion as anyone else. Viola has the right to tell people about her struggles. People have the right to be judgmental, which seems to be so common nowadays. But worse, the media outlets continue to create “feuds” among every celebrity.

I wish we lived in a time where everyone didn’t have such an overwhelmong desire to be judgmental against everyone who has a differing opinion. If anything good comes out of this story, maybe she should think about the negative storm that can result of being too opinionated about our prejudices, religion and politics.

Heads up Nancy and Viola. You both are amazing in your own right.

I agree, Ray. After reading every word and phrase carefully, Nancy was not pinpointing race. She was speaking for all women; ergo, there should be no separation between black and white, or any other color. Again, people just like to be melodramatic about this…..it’s almost a NEED to cause dissension. Gimme a break, people. Nancy said nothing so drastically offensive as she is an advocate of ALL women’s rights.
Everyone should just give it a rest. We just went through this on THE VIEW site.
However, Timmm does have a point. Get off the Twitter addiction.

@CeeCee. Exactly get off Twitter…some people act as if Twitter is
their only link or lifeline too civilization.

I thought the reaction to the nurse in the Miss America contest was way over the top and much ado about nothing. Nurses are hardly a maligned minority–everyone loves, respects and appreciates nurses.
But this is different. Nancy was typing her comments, therefore, some kind of thought was being put into it. It was not a case of her simply mis speaking. Worse yet, the more Nancy tried to get herself out of it, the more she stepped in it. Why not just Tweet “Congratulations, Viola!” Why Tweet that Viola, unlike her, has never encountered discrimination? How dare she make such a presumption? With the Black Lives campaign going on, Nancy’s comments were not only stupid, they were badly timed. I know she is not a racist but she is the worst kind of passive aggressive liberal. And her copious use of the F word does strongly suggest she was intoxicated.

I see nothing wrong with Nancy’s twitters…lol

@Harry.
Hi, Harry.
I thank you for enlightening me. I just reacted to what I read. I did not think it was so bad. By the same token, Harry, I do not follow anyone on Twitter or Facebook. I think it is an invasion of privacy, inane and a waste of time. I leave it to my teen-aged sister. She will grow out of it, I’m sure.LOL.
So, I can only base my thoughts and opinions on what I just read. I certainly did not realize there is much more behind her words, or that she uses her advocacy for any feminist movement as an excuse to regurgitate this anger and disdain.
I did not watch the Emmys, but, yes, she could have just given Viola a congratulatory remark instead of a quasi-snicker.
I do trust your judgment that her words were badly timed, rather than orchestrated? We do agree on that. It was a stupid thing to say, at the wrong time but without malice. Will this mark the end of her career? I still feel badly for her.

@jimh.
Hello, jimh.
By your ‘lol’ at the end of your comment, I know there’s something naughty brewing in that brain of yours. Twitters? Now, pray tell, jimh……is that a euphemism for anything? Around the chest area, perhaps? Double LOL.

And therein lies the problem, CeeCee….NLG arrogantly assumes she is speaking for ALL women, but she is not, and never does. Nor could any other singular entity—male, female, whatever….yet whilst most of us have the good sense to realize such is the case, this D-list celeb fails to grasp that concept. She seems to regard herself as a self-appointed, all-knowing authority on the subject. Talk about hubris.

Obviously Helena Cassadine has her hand in Nancy’s Twitter account.

This is the funniest thing I have read all week! 🙂

Right? How low will we go!!!!. Everything passing our lips needs investigating? BIG BRITHER IS WATCHING YOU !!!! “1984”.

She slept with Shawn so I wouldn’t think she’s racist. But then he got fired… and sent to prison! Plus all her daughters are from different men of questionable character. A tramp and a drunken tweeting strumpet! Harlot!
Who is running the diner that he owned Kelly’s-? Is that the same diner Ruby had years ago? I waited on Ruby at the Westin in Seattle in the 80’s and she had a couple glasses of wine then walked on her check– seriously. I told my manager but only knew her as Aunt Ruby. Is there any chance Heather could be allowed work-release at the diner to make BLTs? I miss her.

That is so funny

I want Heather Webber, to make me a blt sandwich. Lol.

Beth; Alexis slept with Shawn; not Nancy…LOL.

HA! Beth, you are hilarious.

Nobody seems to care that Batgirl was snubbed in the “In Memorium” list on the Emmys. Yvonne Craig. I loved Batgirl, her motorcycle, the costume and she was fierce. However, according to Shirley Jones, Yvonne allowed Jack Cassidy- aka “horse” – into the batcave while still married to Shirley. Not a very batgirl move–way more Eartha Kitt, Julie Newmar or Lee Merriweather. Meow.

Beth, Yvonne Craig died?
I didn’t know–very sad. I loved Batgirl and all of her high kicks.

I loved her kicks too!! When the show comes on now if I don’t see the cartoon of her zipping by on her bat motorcycle at end of opening credits, I pass. She was on a star trek episode as well. RIP Batgirl.

She has jumped on that list of “celebrities” who do not belong on social media. Neil Patrick Harris and Ashton Kutcher are welcoming YOU with open arms, Nancy Lee Grahn.

Sad to hear this. I always liked Nancy Lee.

She needs to be denied access to twitter while she’s drinking; she seems drunk every time she gets into twitter hot water

That was the first thing I thought. This PC mess cannot be good for GH or that GH/ABC internet talk show that NLG did.

I thought the same thing, she was downing wine while she tweeted and it just got worse at time went on.

Yes, I think, first of all, once something is said it cannot be taken back. Nancy Grahn would do better to think before she “tweets” or” twitters,” as should everyone else.
That said, time spent on twitter or tweeting could better be used to do something constructive and put one’s time where one’s mouth is. Of course, Viola Davis’s speech was pitch perfect–and eloquent–and the anger behind it barely contained–but it was contained.
She was civil and nonjudgmental; she simply stated what is blatantly obvious.
I am surprised that NG went off half-cocked since her “problem” is along the same lines as the problem Viola spoke about; it’s about ALL women being discriminated against, but Nancy G. has NOT been discriminated against because she is a woman AND because she is BLACK like Viola. What’s that old adage? “Discretion is the better part of valor”–YES!.
PS Nancy G. could show her disdain by organizing a protest against the way she–and all the other women characters–are written on GH. She could start at “home” and object to the way her character Alexis had been “butchered” by the writers and TPTB, or–horrors!–she could refuse to play Alexis as she is written and ask TPTB to write Alexis as a strong woman, but, alas, that would take courage–and facing up to the stark fact that Alwxis could be “killed off” or her contract terminated. Is her belief that strong.? Think about it, Nancy!

PERFECTLY SAID.

Wonderful post. But I fear Alexis could be killed off given this public relations disaster for a show in ratings trouble, given threats of a protest boycott!

@Tristan…I thought the same thing…Luckily for her the scenes
where Morgan holds a gun on both her and Jules were shot weeks
ago, otherwise…….

Good point. They should just write her off for a bit.

Nancy….what Ms Grahn sounds as if it came from a deep resentment and anger. However I still feel she spoke out of turn and did not mean it to come out the way it did. I am not a fan of the Alexis character, but I do admire the actress’s spirit in helping the lot of women and their cause.
But, I cannot deny or debate your last paragraph. Perfectly said, ‘everywhichway’ most importantly, I appreciate how you have chosen your words carefully and to the point.

Yes. I did read her tweets and all the hateful ones she has received and I don’t think she meant to hurt anyone -it was rude but she apologized over and over and over and she I am sure is regretting. If she would come clean my apartment- and thoroughly- windows and all-I am totally willing to put this behind us.

P.S.
Sorry for commenting again, Nancy, but I have been saying those same words almost as a litany. I, too, have questioned why Nancy G would accept such a demeaning role, acting the floozy with the raging hormones of a teen-ager, where her most important job is to bed Julian……especially for someone her age. I have practically said what you said, verbatim. But, as you know, I get peppered with buckshot each time I mention age.
I clearly misjudged you. By your last comment, I see you in a completely different light. I did not realize you felt the same way about the Alexis character. What a waste, right?

Ah, Beth. You are a breath of fresh air. Love your comments.

@CeeCee I agree – I still feel she spoke out of turn and did not mean it to come out the way it did. However, I AM a fan of the Alexis character. Love her and Julian together!

Well said, Nancy. (the other Nancy)

Re: your comment about “Molly”.
Nancy seriously posted that? Well then, she should follow her own advice about parading her own less-than-appealing wares, no?

Last time I checked – we still have freedom of speech. Anyone have a problem with that.

I don’t think anyone has a problem with it, that’s obvious from the reciprocation. People can say whatever they want, just remember, other people have opinions too.

She’s always had a big mouth.

SHE HAS THE RIGHT TO VOICE HER OPINION IF ANYONE CARES ,AND SHE HAS THE RIGHT TO COME OFF LOOKING LIKE SHE DID!!!!! WHY DOESNT SHE LEARN TO TURN OFF A PROGRAM IF SHE DOESNT LIKE WHAT SHE IS SEEING? THIS IS WHAT I DO WHEN SHE COMES ON G.H. …..I THINK SHE LOVES THIS ATTENTION????????

Yes Joel, she has a big mouth and needs to shut the hell up. I hope GH, dont renew her contract. Also she seems to like her booze and go online. Watch what you say Nancy.

Does anyone remember when she posted a picture of the girl who plays her daughter Molly on her Facebook in a bikini? She wrote something very embarrassing to the girl like,”Where’s your mother when you are parading around half naked?”
The poor girl was perfectly decent and the picture was American girl wholesome but NLG completely mortified her. She was just 13 or 14 at the time.

I understand where Nancy was coming from, but she really should have thought about what she was tweeting and how it was likely to be misconstrued before she hit send. She’s often guilty of that, as many users of social media are. The whole thing was completely blown out of proportion by the social media lynch mob though. When someone makes a dumbass comment, the best thing to do is pay them no mind, especially if they’re a celebrity.

I have been a fan of NLG for over 20 years. I am also black, and I am still a fan of NLG. NLG has one of the largest heart of almost anyone I know.
Nancy only need to filter her comments in social media more. Nancy is a fan of the actress and have made positive comments about her many times. Therefore, I know Nancy did not mean any harm in her comments.

Thank you Jacqyilyn. Yours is a fair response. I agree with everything you said

I knew Beautiful, MEGA talented, Intelligent, well read…. Viola Davis would win that
coveted statuette, well deserved. Very disappointed in Nancy’s distasteful choice of
words on Twitter. No less…what was most offensive in my opinion is assuming Viola
has never been discriminated against, that is so incredibly foolish. Discrimination is a
DISEASE that has touched all of our lives at one time or another, for various reasons.
Unless you’ve lived life through their eyes….get off your SOAP box.

Fanny, that part bothered me as well. How on earth does Miss Nancy know that Viola has never been discriminated against? How dare she make such an assumption about an actress she has never met.
Which reminds me, do you think Viola Davis even knows who NLG is?

@Harry aka Omar… I hope Viola doesn’t know the NLG of last
night’s Twitter….she may feel doubly insulted considering both
shows R on the same network. I can only wonder what ABC may
have to say… Time will tell.

NLG seemed to be complaining about not getting the respect that Vilola Davis got last night because she is in daytime, but the fact that nobody cares about Soaps anymore is the only reason that NLG will probably get to keep her job over this – double edged sword.

They need to fire Nancy, and replace her with Kassie Depaiva.

Pissed Kassie got canned at Days — never watched it until she came on.

Ciao, Sandro.
What a fantastic idea. I would love that!

I love Kassie!

I agree Luke that her only chance to keep her job is that soaps are considered irrelevant. I am shocked at all the excuses posters on The s site give Nancy. What she did was pretty bad and as an employee of ABC, she will get something. ABC wasn’t very Emmy heavy this time and Viola’s was the biggest of their stars to get one. GH can’t go on like this, people should want to watch with good publicity from their stars, all these actors do is complicate a bad situation.

Oh please. Halle Berry once got on Jay Leno, showed a picture of herself and said it was her Jewish cousin…or something to that effect. She then retraced her steps and said, “my publicist and good friend is Jewish. I can only imagine the repercussions if someone had made a similar remark about another race or religious group. Presidential candidate Ben Carson made a stAtement about Muslims, Spike Lee and others Go on and on about the “Jew-run” media, Prince Harry wore A Zanzibar uniform to a costume party, the writer of Empire just defended his star Terence Howard who has a reputation of violence by stating “white actors do too” making it a race issue…but let’s hang “fire” Nancy for insulting Viola Davis ( who IS a great actress) and feeling that ALL women need better opportunities…and for stating, which is true, that Viola has had very good roles in film and TV. To call her a racist is absurd. You vp an not agree, you can think she expressed herself in a less than diplomatic manner…but compared to way too many REALLY offensive comments hers was benign in comparison.

Let me try to correct this again since it didn’t make the first round.

Halle Berry saw a picture of herself with an EXAGGERATED
NOSE and said it was her Jewush cousin.

Prince Harry went in a Nazi uniform to a party

Last sentence that spdidnt make sense…shoulspd read…”you might not agree with her…”

NLG apparently has not learned that lesson, as her response tweets included this gem, re: blacks, “I feel betrayed by people I would’ve marched for.” Oy! Where is GH’s publicity department? NLG has the rights of free speech, but as the cast member of a show in ratings trouble, why continue to bait a section of the audience you need to stay on the air? Fairly or not, some African Americans are calling for a boycott of GH until NLG is “dealt with.” GH cannot afford a boycott! NLG’s impolitic comments place her co-workers and show in jeopardy if a boycott is seriously mounted and is in any way successful. Miss Davis is also on ABC, therefore I suspect the network will intervene if it seems necessary in terms of public relations. Yes, public relations!!!!! Ratings!!! This is no longer about free speech but about COMMON SENSE when you are on a show in ratings trouble! So, again: where is GH’s publicity department? Why didn’t NLG’s bosses put a stop to this last night, or this morning when she went off on round two, bemoaning her betrayal by “people she would’ve marched for”? I like NLG, as well. I do not think her a racist. But I do think her foolish.

The whole thing’s ridiculous. We’ve got Trump running for President who insults everybody. He has made fun of women whom he deems fat, old, ugly,,,one or all of
the above…we have racist “humor” from all sides, and anti semitisn is alive and well…yet NLG is in the hot seat. After reading many of her comments it is apparent she is an advocate for many good causes and supports women, she’s open minded and educated. She’s against persecution of all types.

Perhaps she was frustrated that many of the wonderful roles Viola has had isn’t offered her or other female soap actors. Perhaps she thought Viola has had a great career and has had many wonderful parts which is true…and How To Get Get Away With Murder is a fantastic show (Viola is outstanding in it…just amazing) and is an amazing vehicle that ANY actress would be lucky to star in.

Personally, I don’t want to hear a speech about race each time a performer wins. It would have been nice to accept the award and acknowledge that it was the first time a black actress has won it…and then get on with thanking whomever. I just thought…where are the Asian, Indian, roles. Everything is no longer black abd white…literally and figuratively.

Well said rebecca1! I agree!

BULLSHIT! Nancy is not racist! She said something about someone who just happened to be black. Nancy is a long time feminist and spoke out against this particular actress but she meant ALL colors! Foolish Yes, racist NO!

Timmm, I hope this was not directed at me, as I explicitly stated I do not believe NLG is a racist. Unfortunately, after she apologized she started answering hostile tweets and these response tweets were, in my opinion, far more problematic because she was unwilling to make a graceful exit when she had the chance. The comments about Harriet Tubman and the tunnel, and being betrayed “by people I would’ve marched for,” are just stupid comments, race aside. After her apology that night, I think the story was effectively dead…until she revived it the next morning with really unbecoming behavior. As I said above: not racist, but very foolish!

No, no,no, not you Nancy. What I am frustrated at is Tristan’s news that “Some” blacks are boycotting GH until she is “Dealt” with. Is this truly the mob? And Tristan, nothing against you, you are just repeating what you heard. Nancy G. should explain herself to Viola and apologize to her if she took it out of context. Nancy G. doesnt owe an apology to Afro Americans! She is not racist and did nothing to THEM! DEALT WITH! We need to deal with those evil ISIS members and quit measuring ever got damn word people say here in AMERICA!

Thank you Abruzzfan.

While I don’t agree with what NLG said, she has as much right to voice her opinion as anyone else. Please stop with the ‘Nancy is opinionated’ crap. We ALL have opinions, NLG just shares her opinions more freely than most people on social media.

Is it time to move on, YES! However, that unfortunately won’t happen because the media will continue to make a ‘story’ out of it.

My grandmother told me;
Never voice your opinion about race, religion or politics unless you are ready for a fight.
I was warned to never to talk about politics, religion or race. Those are the three inexcusables.
In a social gathering when you are asked about a political opinion simply say; ”I am not fully informed to offer an opinion at this time, perhaps we could disquss it at a latter time” And excuse yourself to the powder room.

When speaking of politics or religion outside of family and very close friends someone will be highly offended.

(( the site is really bad mouthing Nancy, worse yet way below the article there are comments, sigh…))
y’all know how to get to the toofab site for a look-see..

Lol, Su. I didn’t watch the Emmys. I never do. I do watch the Daytime Emmys, though….when offered. And, of course, the Academy Awards, and the music awards.
Now, I said this on THE VIEW site. Are our mouths behaving any better than of what Nancy is being accused? Everyone is here, there, and everywhere flagellating her….just as many are doing right now. Peace out.

Suoo, your grandmother was right.
Also, because Twitter affords a built in brevity of speech, one should not tackle such profound issues as race and one really shouldn’t tackle the subject when one is intoxicated. This is not the first time NLG has Tweeted some really obtuse, narcissistic and obnoxious Tweets.
I also thought NLG sounded quite jealous and as Kermit the Frog once sang,”It’s not easy being green.”
Honestly, due to her Tweets I have not cared for NLG in a long time. She needs to deactivate her account before her soap career is deactivated.

Good one, Harry…what a good one!!!! Envy is a mortal sin……I have seen a few green faces in my short life. Must be a horrible feeling.

Su…Your Grandmother was wise.

Never cared for nancy lee grahn always seens to put her foot in her mouth to bad she doesn’t spend as much time on her acting instead of being on twitter accont making a ass of her self

Nancy made a distasteful mistake but when it was brought to her attention she dug her heels in and continued to spew more distasteful vitriol.
She vacillated from posting bigoted comments to posting jealousy that she hasn’t reached Viola’s level of status. This firestorm has hit 10 major news sites and not a single word from ABC.
Viewers are rightfully pissed and outraged by the latest antics from Nancy and Bryan Craig yet ABC is radio silent. No major corporation should sweep these public disasters under the rug.

How does NLG know what Viola has experienced! Appears she just wanted to rain on somebody elses parade.

Wow…we just had Bryan Craig/Morgan & family overreacting with their tweets, followed by The View in the spotlight for some inappropriate things said, in many people’s opinion, about the Miss America contestant. And now Nancy Lee Grahmn on twitter, again, saying things in the heat of the moment you should take time and three deep breaths before saying, if at all…especially after Viola won her award. The timing was definitely not right, and whatever merit there was in Nancy’s concerns got lost, and sounded like sour grapes.

Loved Nancy on SB. She is very opinionated. She speaks for herself, not for me. She can post what she wants, but she should be more careful it she doesn’t want backlash. I don’t think this is the first time this has happened to her and I doubt it will be the last. Sometimes it’s best not to comment.

Maybe Nancy should have had Shonda write her tweets for her.

I hear Ron Carlivati is available too.

Take a bow.

It would be hypocritical of GH to get rid of NLG,considering that they’re not exactly overflowing with Black characters,at last count there were 2 full time African American characters on the show,Jordan and TJ.

One has nothing to do with the other.

I saw Tony Geary on a Mod Squad episode with Tyne Daly and Sam Elliott. Also on an episode of Streets of San Francisco. Had it not been for the character created and written for GH and pairing with Genie Francis he would have been doing dinner theater and his own ego and narcissism could not stand to share any spotlight with Genie. Glad he is gone.
I have adored Nancy Lee Grahn on GH but her tweet was kinda snarky and rude and now she has been thrown under a bus. Unless somehow the Paragon Project has infected her computer. I understand CSI- Cyber is investigating but should have “forseen” this and told Nannylee to shut her well-fed pie-hole before she stuck her hoof in it.
There is a youtube video with Jane Elliott in a Police Woman episode where she smacks Angie Dickinson over the head after breaking into her hotel room. Love Jane.
Hate hearing soaps don’t matter and negative GH comments. Diversity is great. Let’s have more of it.

This society has too much time on their hands making such a big deal over NOTHING. I think Nancy spoke her mind and it should be respected for that alone. She spoke her mind. Why is it that when someone disagrees with an A Lister celebrity and it isn’t licking their butts they are automatically called racist? NLG is no more a racist than I am a hamburger because I eat them. I respect Nancy for speaking her mind and for standing up for what she BELIEVES in. Her beliefs are not anyone’s but hers and she is entitled to express them HOWEVER she chooses without being called to the carpet for it. Whether any one agrees with them or not is on them. Stop all the backbiting, judging and hating and celebrate the fact that we STILL live in a country when the minority can speak their piece and live to tell about it. I support Nancy’s view actually. She shouldn’t have apologized. She should stand proud. She didn’t say Viola didn’t deserve the recognition, she simply said that Viola should have spoken on behalf of ALL women not just women of color. I don’t think Viola’s speech was all that relevant. The tides are turning for women in general. We are so happy to separate ourselves instead of becoming that group of people who celebrate each other regardless of race, creed, orientation or color. I think Viola Davis is an amazing actress and woman. I don’t say she is an amazing black woman. I say she is an amazing woman. Period. Nancy Lee Grahn is also amazing. I celebrate her as a proud American woman who is showing what it means to use your freedom of speech rights as they were intended. Those aforementioned rights were never meant to be politically correct. They were meant for everyone. I hate how we strive for togetherness but we consistently strive to separate ourselves into groups. Sad. I pray for an America that celebrates the diversities of each citizen in a way that promotes unity, peace love and understanding. Congratulations Viola — GREAT JOB and Nancy Lee Grahn – keep up the fight, you are a lady with something to say and contribute.

EXCELLENT post, Mateo! Agree with your very well written, impassioned words.

As I said! Mateo; this society has reached a point where every word needs to be measured. That is a direct infringement on our civil rights.I also said that she has a voice and should be able to say what’s on her mind. However, if what I am reading is true; that she is in the habit of going off, speaking without thinking, then she should put a cork in it if she does not like the repercussions. Some of us can’t even discuss fictitious personalities on soaps in fear of hurting their feelings.
Obviously Nancy is thick skinned, and likes the attention, negative or otherwise. Who are we to dictate to her. She’s an adult with a cause. I only hope this ’cause’ is sincere and close to her heart. At the risk of sounding repetitious, I really think she wanted to make a good point, the delivery was flawed…it came out wrong. As Harry pointed out; bad timing.

The fact that NLG speaks in an unfiltered fashion does not make her points any less valid. I can’t judge her motives or her sincerity level but from I do know about NLG I can say that she speaks from the hip in a fashion that direct and out front. I LOVE HER for that. I am sick of people dictating how people should say their truths. She can say it at any time, in any way she chooses, that is her right and her God given gift. Maybe she does like attention, who doesn’t? Her delivery style was true to who NLG is and I, for one, LOVE it. Her timing was right on point. Should she have voiced her dissent months after the event to save face? Screw that. She spoke in perfect timing, it’s not her fault that society is so politically correct that she can’t speak truth. It appears to me that in an effort to appease everyone we can please no one. No word, feeling or opinion should ever be “measured”. Speak your truth. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Quite simple and a pathway to leading a happy life. It’s not my fault when society can’t process my opinions simply because they are not easy to digest. I stand with NLG and her ability to convey her emotions and feelings as they come out. Honesty unfiltered is a gift from God.

Issues have always been controversy. Thin skinned people have always existed. People have always been offended about an opinion or a specific word. However, back in the old days, UNLESS someone got a hold of a letter and made it public via a small window of media available because of the lack of technology, most of us never knew what people felt from thousands of miles away! Nowadays EVERYONE knows how EVERYONE feels and EVERYONE is offended!

You are so right, Mateo. I bow to you for having the visceral and moral strength to speak your heart out. I assume this is what Nancy has done. I think most of us would like to do the same but do not have the chutzpah, for the reasons you enumerate….mainly; political correctness. I am reacting to what I hear, and I see many here are up in arms….. Who among us has never put his/her foot in it?…..yet, we all react sanctimoniously, some time or other. We all judge. We are all imperfect beings.
However, being in the public eye should make one just a tad more wary and on guard, albeit I find her words not the least offensive. I think one poster made the point of bringing attention to the fact that Viola should have addressed ALL women of all races; not just women of color. That observation outshines them all. Straight to the crux of the matter. Wasn’t that Nancy’s point? But, because everyone jumped on her to feed, her intention was lost in the fray.

Mateo, “Voice of Reason!”

Thank you Mateo! Well said!

NLG has put her foot in her mouth!

Oh I love nlg but talk bout stepping on shit, this is what happens when your on Twitter, and political correctness gone amock. Some people will use this just to cause trouble, these people on Twitter who protest for injustice yet have no trouble asking for boycotts and for someone to get fired, it’s all one big joke.

Why NLG felt the need to tinkle all over a fellow actress on her own network boggles the mind! Is it sour grapes because she’s still on daytime 40 years later?!

That is Exactly what she did and I think being an unpaid spokesperson for Depends Undergarments- she can donate the proceeds to charity– and also wear them on GH in her love scenes. Mea Culpa and stay dry!
She has a job and fame- has worked steadily for decades and money in the bank. Monica is probably on foodstamps now but she isn’t slamming others. Why not congratulate her or say nothing. Then the hole just dug deeper.
Also, the BLTs on GH are made with Romaine lettuce from what I have seen and this seems not good to me, prefer iceberg and would like avocado on mine.

MissySnow..
did you read the actual tweets, all of them?
if you have you either missed what was actually said, or are just going along with other people’s opinions that may not have read the the line of tweets and just rolling with chatter.. lol

Yes, I read NLG’s tweets and still think she just felt the need to tinkle all over Viola’s Emmy win instead of saying,”congrats” or saying nothing at all which would have not gotten her into what will probably be a huge smack down from her ABC/D employer,,,,JMO. I don’t think NLG is a racist, she opened up her mouth and spent all night trying to remove her backside!

I’m sorry to say I was really irritated by Violas speech. I am so sick and tired of actors, whether black, gay or whatever using award shows to promote their cause, how do you ever expect people to get along when speeches like this just keep the pot stirred up. Everyone, every race, every gender has something to complain about. Why oh why can’t we all just get along and live our lives. No more award show for me

I agree. Viola took advantage of the platform regaled to her . A thank you, for the honor, would have sufficed. Where was the poise; the grace? As you say, we all have a gripe about something….air the issue within the appropriate forum.

I dont watch award shows except for daytime or Country. Seems these are the only groups who are somewhat connected to reality! I saw clips of the Emmys and MOST of the people in Hollywood are so out of touch with the common man or women! I mean, the E Network has a freakin FOOT CAM!

I agree Rcraig – It is a dumb and meaningless award show. I am so sick and tired of actors, whether black, gay or whatever using award shows to promote their cause. Sigh!

Fight, fight!!!! Nancy needs to get a whip and a chair and fight off that GREEN-EYED Monster – jealousy! Fight him, Nancy! Fight him off! You can do it! SNAP, SNAP! (Popping of the whip!) (giggle, giggle)

Now that I’ve had a little fun with this situation…I don’t think Nancy is a racist. I think she wants a Primetime Emmy win, as I am sure other actresses – white or black or other ethnicity – do too!

I don’t keep up with actors from soaps other than Days, so I do not know whether or not Nancy has won a Daytime Emmy. I am also not familiar with her work on Primetime if she has any. If she has won a Daytime Emmy, she should be proud. Not to say she should not strive for an Primetime Emmy or an Oscar. I just mean enjoy what you get where you are and not stress over what you don’t have. Such stressing can lead to behavior such as Nancy’s tweets after Viola’s Primetime Emmy win.

Sounds like Nancy’s frustration got the best of her on Sunday night. That frustration is not necessarily racism (although I understand why some believe it is). Viola, because of her race and experiences in the Entertainment Industry has a perspective that white actresses do not have. But each individual has their own journey and perspective shaped by their own experiences.

Many white women may not be able to relate to some of Viola’s experiences. That’s okay too. Sometimes you just have to be happy for someone else’s good fortune and keep working on achieving your own goals, enjoying the journey while you do. Your time will come.

As an African-American, I take no offense at Nancy, because she is human and by her own admission has been “schooled”. Her own frustration about what she doesn’t have got the best of her for a moment. Let her recover. She’ll be alright.

I wish Nancy the best in her career.

By the way, I have the impression that a Daytime Emmy is not as prestigious as a Primetime Emmy. If that is true, that is silly. Work is work. Actors from both Daytime and Primetime work hard at their craft. An Emmy is an Emmy is an Emmy and should be regarded as such. Failure to do so can breed the type of frustration that Nancy stumbled over. Such stumbling blocks need to be removed.

As a black woman I didn’t see any offence to what she said. I felt what she tweeted she should have worded differently to make her point, which was the speech should have meant for all woman in the industry. I follow her and as a fan of hers and I have NEVER seen her come of as racist. She is an outspoken person who have very strong views on different things but the backlash and nasty tweets to her was un call for. She apologize, she new she was wrong and will most likely regret it for the rest of her life, but she’s also a human being. Viola has her win and made history and that comment will take nothing of that.

an emmy win is not like an oscar which even that is forgotten by next week. awards mean very little and a pleasant thank you is sufficient. these people are just actors. i dont know what everyone gets so riled up about.

Thank goodness world hunger, unemployment, and all the rest of the world’s problems have apparently been solved so that we can focus on Nancy Lee Grahn’s tweets.

*sigh*

If people spent half as much time working to achieve equality instead of complaining about a Twitter account of all things, the world would be a much better place.

While Nancy is checking her own privilege she might also give a little reality check to her own show and the soap industry in general. Lead roles for actors of color are few and far between. Every soap has their share of white female leads. Are those women treated as well as the male leads? No, often not but at least they have far more opportunity than women of color. And that was the crux of Viola Davis’s Emmy speech. As she said, you can’t win an Emmy for roles that are simple not there. Her win was historic and Nancy Lee Grahn tried to make it about herself and the sort of roles she wished were getting instead of acknowledging this one woman who did manage to break into the top echelon because of her talent and do it in spite of the barriers placed in path way along the journey.

Ms. Grahn repeatedly tweets insensitive comments about a myriad of topics, coming across as a self absorbing hypocrite with little tolerance of opposing viewpoints. I am not surprised at this backlash as her comments were clearly insulting to Viola and diminished her Emmy win!! Her mea culpa is somewhat hollow but at least she acknowledged her missteps!! She she show more kindness and tolerance in future tweets!!

Grahn also attempted to explain where her comments were coming from in another post.

“I apologize for my earlier tweets and now realize I need to check my own privilege,” she wrote. “My intention was not to take this historic and important moment from Viola Davis or other women of color but I realize that my intention doesn’t matter here because that is what I ended up doing.”

“I learned a lot tonight and I admit that there are still some things I don’t understand but I am trying to and will let this be a learning experience for me”

NLG sounds like a racists. Her apologies were hollow, ABC should fire her.

Wrong, wrong and…wrong.

when a person calls another a racists they are a racists themselves..
ummm whites are also called racists names by blacks along with other racist comments about white people but they are not allowed to call it racism LOL 🙂
It is political correctness gone wild that is in itself destructive..

Your wrong!

OMG. Beth. How funny are you? Let’s have lunch.

I am so so hungry and have no bacon. I blame Nancy for that as well. I would never tweet for fear of being bashed and hesitate to comment on here as well as it does seem pretty brutal and I am too fat and old to fight. I grew up with soaps and to hear all the slams about soaps being over or not relevant makes me fear the same. But it also seems new versions in different formats, etc., are being well-received. I used to love the Daytime Emmys but now they are what – broadcast on AM radio from an adult bookstore in West Hollywood- depressing. RIP Jackie Collins and the classic line from one of her books- “poor poor bitch” has remained in my vocabulary since first read. Also Angela Channing from Falcon Crest “This is nothing less than rape!” -though of course it was. A buffet, Thai, or BLTs?

LOL giddily !

“…broadcast on AM radio from an adult bookstore in West Hollywood “

BACON! Just dont bring Heather Webber with you!

If anyone deserves an emmy– give another one to Debbi Morgan and hello- why is she not on GH? Why are there no blacks, whites or asians on all the telenovellas on Univision and other Spanish networks that I occasionally watch and wish I could speak Spanish- and these shows seem to thrive. The rules were changed with this year’s emmys so the entire membership voted and not just elite panels.

Over Nancy though, bigtime and want to know is Donna Mills over at GH? Is Heather over? Can we vote on who to bring back to life or freed–say 3 picks per person. Alan and Monica and Heather for me. And Donna, and Joan Van Ark but with her old face not the Faison Mask

3 picks per person

can’t pick with certainty…

it’d be from someone from Another World, Guiding Light, or As The World Turns

Beth Chamberlain, ex-Lorelei / Beth, GL
Stephen Schnetzer, Cass Winthrop, AW
Jon Hensely, Holden Snyder, ATWT

runner-up… Crystal Chappell, Robin Christopher, Robert Newman (LOVE THEM)

This too shall pass 😉

I love seeing liberals go at each other and their PC bull comes back to bite them in the ass.

I feel the same way about conservatives, *cough* donald trump.

That’s Uuuuuge!!!!

I liked NLG on SB but not so much as Alexis. Once she got on social media in which she not only gives her opinions which she is entitled to, she also is insulting to those she does not like and I don’t mean just in response. She just sounds off and doesn’t care about how it sounds to others. She doesn’t show any respect for anyone that does not fit into her self righteous opines .
This has made me dislike her as a person which affects how I feel about her character This may be wrong, but I am 60 yrs old and that is just how I am won’t change. I don’t think I am the only one and that is not good for her or GH. it is bad enough when big stars with a lot of clot dive into politics which imho polarizes us even more. Like I just want to watch a show. Entertainment for the most part should be an avenue to bring us together.
What she said, right or wrong? who knows. But every thought one penetrates one’s consciousness does not need to be spoken or written aloud.
I do think NLG is privledged to be working steadily with good money for so many years. She has also been allowed to vent her thoughts for the most part without much push back. unlike a lot of people. . Like TG they both appear put out that the career wasn’t more than it was. But is was so much more, in so many ways than the average person or actor. .,
Want to know a truth ? there are a lot of people who don’t have anyone to listen or really help even when they say they are. who cares about my twitter account or opinions. wish someone did.. My husband is a vet, trying to use the VA system due to cost of on our own. Nothing has changed and for all the blabbing no one cares so I may be mean but the problems of ‘good roles’ for any actor is not high on my list of concerns.

I hear you, Donna. I feel the same way sometimes about an actors, sports figures, etc, and their personal lives and opinions. They have a right to voice them, but they have to be prepared to take the fallout, if any. I’m just trying to keep away from pop-culture expose’ stuff so they don’t cloud my enjoyment of their performances. Easier said than done.

Also, I hope the VA system works for your husband. It hasn’t been so easy to hide from the stories on this subject for someone who follows the news. 🙂

Sometimes it’s better to have some mystery.

I loved Viola Davis’ speech and got quite emotional (I am caucasian). Nancy Grahn made a mistake. She apologized. Only if one has never made a mistake, can one fault this wonderful woman. I have and I will always be a fan.

I am not reading any other posts on here, so I hope I don’t duplicate what anyone else said. I have a lot of opinions on this, hopefully I have something fresh and new for people to read and think about. Upon first reading the headline, not even the article, my first thought was “Why is Nancy Grahn saying ANYTHING about this at all?! Other than maybe CONGRATULATIONS TO A FELLOW EMMY WINNER.” Next, I was flabbergasted when Nancy said she wished she got Viola’s roles. Um, Nancy…you’re white! You’re not going to get her roles! Nancy Grahn had one of the best female roles ever written (daytime or primetime) in Julia Wainwright Capwell on the late great Santa Barbara, and although Alexis has suffered mightily at the hands of misogynistic male writers, she has definitely been a good role and gainful employment for almost 20 years. Being an activist of any kind is dangerous! Activists are nothing more than pigheaded, judgmental people who believe their way is the right way, the ONLY way, and anyone else can’t have an opinion, or share it, or voice it. Activists, of any kind, are just bullies on an adult playground! What the hell is anyone being an activist for? Four little words are so much nicer…Live and Let Live!

I do not use twitter. I don’t get it. I don’t want millions of strangers misinterpreting what I say in broken English and half punctuated with numbers. I must refer to Ron Carlivati here. He was hostile and petty and childish and malicious on twitter and other forms of social Media. And for what? Because people disagreed with him. It didn’t matter….no one was off limits…actors, colleagues, fans…he would insult ANYONE. And he kept his job for an amazingly long time after starting that crap. Any employee in a non show business job would have been canned instantly. Let’s put this in perspective. I am a Server in a restaurant. Nowadays, ANYONE can go on Trip Advisor, or ANY restaurant review site, and say anything they want about the food, or the service, even personally attacking the server. As the server, if I read the review, I cannot hit REPLY, and go on to bash or attack that customer! I may want to, but I know, if my bosses saw that, I would be fired instantly! We live in a dangerous scary world, where any of us have the capability to ruin someone’s career, reputation, or life just by logging online and typing 140 characters!

I think these celebrities need to a) Get over themselves and their inflated sense of importance. Nancy knew her words would make waves. b) Lay off the booze! I am sure many of these messages originate as these celebrities are indulging in their mind altering substance of choice. c) Don’t say stupid, controversial things (hi Joy Behar), and then realize that you were wrong, and backpedal and apologize. Shut up and worry about your own life. d) Go to work, be glad you’re gainfully employed, and realize that an Emmy is nothing more than a popularity contest like winning a Student Council election in school. The entertainment industry is littered with emmy winners, even MULTIPLE Emmy winners, who aren’t working. Very often, an emmy and a quarter, a person could make a call at a payphone. An Emmy is a nice personal night for the winner, and always a fond memory, but it’s just that, like winning any award. The moment is fleeting, and means not too much in the long run! e) Grow up!!

Nancy herself was part of a historic Emmy win back in 1989, where she tied with an African Actress, Debbi Morgan. No one took anything away from either of them. It was a wonderful moment, and way before ties ever became as ridiculously commonplace as they were in the past few years. Social media didn’t even exist then. There were soap magazines published every two weeks, or every month, readers could write in, a month later a few opinions would appear, and that was that. Nancy has since won a second Emmy, and been nominated several times, and to my knowledge, no one has said a disparaging word.

I have a hard time following Twitter language, because my mind is not conditioned to think that way. I type before, not b4. I type great, not gr8. I am a writer. I love the English language in all its complexity, and I cannot stand internet abbreviated speak. For me, it is the domain of 10-12 year olds. Hearing adults do it is just embarrassing to me, and maybe why Twitter never caught my attention. With that said, I had a very hard time even deciphering what Nancy’s rant was about! (Hence why I mention the booze…) Was she jealous? Does she want to be in Primetime? Is she saying that Viola was wrong to focus on the struggles of black women, and not mention white women? Her post was erratic, confusing, and unnecessary. Now she has to stay up into the wee hours trying to do damage control.

Had Nancy simply typed CONGRATULATIONS ON A VERY DESERVING WIN!! all of this ridiculous drama and b.s. could have been avoided! People are free to think whatever they want, and feel whatever they want. But when they take to Social Media, they need to be damn careful with what they write. Momma’s advice is SO often the best…THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK…TREAT OTHERS AS YOU WOULD WISH TO BE TREATED…WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND…All those old chestnuts and nuggets of wisdom still apply…white, black, celebrity, non-celebrity…we are all human and subject to the same feelings, and emotions.

Do I think Nancy should be tarred and feathered? No! I would have to have understood the point she was trying to make in order to understand what the outcome might be. Do I think she will learn from this? Heck yes!! If it is her desire to work in primetime, she probably just burned hundreds of bridges that won’t be rebuilt. I don’t think Nancy, pushing 60, should be viewing her career in upward terms anymore. It’s not realistic. The Betty White phenomenon rarely happens, that actresses get more popular as they get older.

Nancy has carved out a 35 year career in daytime drama. She has won accolades and Emmys and Soap Opera Digest Awards, and other awards, and been able to raise her daughter comfortably. I think she may need to realize that just because she is on a Soap Opera, doesn’t give her the right to turn that into a Soap Box. We know she is a feminist, and avidly Pro-Abortion, and we know those things because of media. It would be so nice to return to the era where soap characters were just that…characters. Where we didn’t know the actors’ names, or their personal lives, or their beliefs, or their causes, or their Twitter handle. Alas, those days are gone forever.

Nancy is a phenomenal actress. When she is given the right material, she can make you laugh, make you think, and can positively break your heart! Her current story kind of makes her look like a moron, and has been doing so for the past two years of Carlivati’s mob-heavy writing. Hopefully now, with two women headwriters, they will restore Alexis to someone with intelligence, not a weak fool driven by her lust for a mobster in too tight underwear.

This is an unfortunate incident that could EASILY have been avoided!!

Dylan, please allow me to co-sign your articulate, thoughtful, and especially well-argued post! I’ve read the posts on this site, yours is indeed a different “reading,” based upon your own life experience and your understanding of working-life realities. Thank you.

Dylan…I think you made some very good points. But I am curious what your definition of an activist is because I don’t think all activists who lobby for human/animal rights, fair pay, climate, etc. are all the negatives you listed.

Hi, Dylan,
You have illustrated both the pros and the cons surrounding this idiotic thread. We all fall into the abyss….human nature. My Gran is wont to say, “The more you stir the caca pot, the more it stinks”. ( pardon the vulgarity).
Nonetheless, I appreciate the fact that we share something…..that is, the love of the English language and its proper grammatical usage; among many other languages. I have a few short stories and poetry tucked away….very personal, never to be publicly aired. I also appreciate the fact that you do not put a comma after the word ‘hence’, LOL…..grammatically incorrect to do that……or the fact that ‘none’, ‘neither, either’ need a singular verb, not plural…….just to name a few. I sound like a broken record. But, allow me to say, it beats talking about Nancy Grahn and her continuous faux pas.

I like the way you express yourself Dylan and have agreed either passively or have posted so. However, here, I only agree with your point partially. The point I DON’T agree with is this sentence…

“I don’t think Nancy, pushing 60, should be viewing her career in upward terms anymore. It’s not realistic. The Betty White phenomenon rarely happens, that actresses get more popular as they get older.” This very sentence was Nancy’s point! She acknowledged and congratulated Viola…but felt that the emphasis should have been on better roles for ALL women…including actresses who are no longer in their 20s. The point she was trying to make is that women in general have had problems getting roles that didn’t focus on sex and youth..and perhaps an acknolwedgment that the tide is hopefully changing, again, for ALL women would have been nice to b the focus. Or at least included. I’m thinking she doesn’t think sparse good roles are solely a black women’s plight.

Though I beileve she could have worded it better, her words, unfortunately snowballed. It’s difficult to get people on THIS board to agree or not argue at times…imagine the amount of people reading her words…and then the news media jumping on the bandwagon.

Reminds me of when Adam Levine (Maroon FIve) said JOKINGLY when his contestant on THE VOICE lost to Blake Shelton’s country artist…”I hate country” and people thought he meant he hates the United States and he should just get out!!!1 LOL. It was so ridiculous as well…Adam had to explain what he meant over and over again until he was just, “F it..” Think what you want…

Communication is key. Interpretation, misinterpretation, subjective feelings on whichever subject..can all change the original intent.

I feel bad for Nancy. What she thought was a powerful statement for ALL women (albeit there were certain things she shouldn’t have said as well)…much have caused her immense concern for her to be up trying to make herself understood.

Sigh. There are so many more important things in life than endless warring…Sickening really….

Dylan, I do want to clarify that my agreement is with your discussion of working life realities and Twitter. I think you are somewhat naïve on the importance of activism: without activism America would still be ruled by Great Britain, slavery would not have been undermined, women wouldn’t have gotten the vote, blacks and women wouldn’t have gained equal protection via Title VII, gay marriage would still be illegal…I am sure you get my point. Without activism society’s real wrongs would not be “righted.”

Three cheers for you, Tristan. Ruled by the Brits? Lordy, Lord deliver us from ______.

While we all talk of diversity, there is a lack of understanding of why Viola’s speech was so important and NLG’s comments were so hurtful. One cannot speak to the question of ALL women when subgroups of women are not well represented. There has been 67 emmy awards and Viola is THE FIRST African-American female winner. I’m pretty sure that number is in the single digits for other minorities as well. One has only to historically look at any discussion of ALL women and those discussions have generally only meant white women. It’s disheartening that whenever there is an opportunity to address the lack of opportunity for minorities, ANY minority group, that the focus must move to a discussion of the collective all.

What NLG’s comments failed to recognize is that ON ANY GIVEN DAY she’ll have opportunities unavailable to minority actresses because the roles are not intended for them. Viola has ALWAYS been very vocal about the opportunities not afforded to her because she’s been told that she was not viewed because of her race and color as a leading lady. While we have made some advancements, one only need to remember the ratio, 67:1, to recognize how much further we need to go. Couching that issue in the collective “all”-almost guarantees that it will not be addressed.

One has only to know American history to recognize the importance of the award forum. The entertainment industry has used this platform for decades to bring major issues to the everyday masses. It is because of the entertainment industry’s willingness to do this on a myriad of topics and to also economically support those topics which has “humanized” various issues. The usage has allowed many people who had no knowledge of or interaction with different groups to recognize that acknowledging diversity isn’t divisive, but exemplifies the American theme of being a melting pot. A melting pot is not homogeneous, but is made of various ingredients, all of which are as important as the next. I’m glad Viola chose this historic forum. I’ve had friends researching today who were surprised to find that Viola was correct on the dearth of opportunities for women of color in leading roles. They wouldn’t have keyed into this topic, but for her speech, just as they did after Ms Arquette’s speech. Where else would she reach this size population who are STILL discussing her speech days later? Kudos Viola!

“wallah”

1. “…A melting pot is not homogeneous, but is made of various ingredients, all of which are as important as the next.”

one couldn’t do with out the other

2. “… The usage has allowed many people who had no knowledge of or interaction with different groups ”

this platform… like any awards show… was her’s. she eloquently, carried herself… and intelligently spoke … and if it makes for conversation… I saluted her and teared up

3. “…They wouldn’t have keyed into this topic, but for her speech, just as they did after Ms Arquette’s speech ”

it’s always been my contention that equal pay… for both men and women… would bring together … eye to eye contact

as for NLG : hang it up for awhile… your woman’ advocacy steer… just turned off kilt… I’m still pondering your ???? last tweet :

“I learned a lot tonight and I admit that there are still some things I don’t understand but I am trying to and will let this be a learning experience for me”

the key to me… was this an easy let out?

“I admit that there are still some things I don’t understand ”

you had the opportunity to not send your words
you stayed up all night to address, redress, apologize,

with clarity? exemplify ? personalize ? extend ?

so be it

Alexis Davis on the other hand… snore

Louise Schaffer Rae Woodard RH/Goldie Kane AMC– OH– and she was Serena/Josie on Edge of night and her courtroom scene on youtube is excellent.
who else?

1976. Serena/Josie (LOUISE SHAFFER) is unraveled when Adam (DONALD MAY) questions the cutting of Serena’s hair a few days ago when Serena’s hair isn’t any shorter…

And Debbi Morgan and Julia Barr

ok so maybe we get 6 women and 6 men–?? I need to add Meredith Betty Broderick Baxter/ Maureen on Y&R

ok 12 men 12 women and we start a new soap and write it on here. Add Dorothy Lyman/Opal AMC and Marcy Walker/Liza Colby/Eden Capwell

Ok Patrick what do you think if we add a Reverse SORAS once in awhile?

@Beth.
Reverse SORAS? Now, that’s hysterical and something I’d love to see.

I don’t know…

imagine

when an ingredient is left out… by omission or for something better

is that possible

when it comes to complementing one another

As long as I can remember I’ve been a fan of NLG and her characters. I’d be lying if I said that last night wasn’t a disappointing display of foot-in-mouth disease. Just months ago she applauded Patricia Arquette for doing the *exact* same thing Viola Davis did: use her win as a platform to shine a light on inequality. I believe, however, that Nancy learned a very hard and real lesson Sunday night and I honestly feel for her.

Yes, we are all entitled to our own opinions. Yes, we have First Amendments rights in this great country. However, we (as NLG has learned) do not speak into a bubble, nor a vacuum, where whatever comes out of our mouth – right or wrong – has no consequences and are not met, sometimes great fervor, with other varying and equally protected opinions. In today’s social media, we continue to learn that our intentions mean next to nothing and our words mean everything. I am not a fan of Donald Trump, but I witness how easy it is for some to praise/berate him for his opinions while doing the exactly opposite to Grahn. What makes one distasteful comment better or worse than the other beyond our own preferential feelings for these individuals? When one person gets a pass b/c “I like them” and the other gets tossed to the wolves b/c “they’re a(n) ______”; when our standards are subjective to our own agendas, we’re all taking a whiz in the reservoir. Our words have meaning. Period.

The most important part, though, is that NLG apologized. Just as I did not question the intention of her original tweets, I will also not question the sincerity of her apology. She is human, just as we all are, and humans make mistakes. She, herself, has acknowledged this and I do believe she has learned from it and should absolutely 100% be forgiven. Of all the people I wish not to be in this world, she’s probably in the top ten thousand. Perhaps it is she who should’ve had her material written by Shonda Rhimes, lol.

Notorioustori…I agree our words have meaning…what we think we have said, or the intent, may not be the way they are heard. A lesson for all of us I suspect.

It would seem that the only tenuous thread which binds these two women is the surname of “Davis.” Viola is the actual article, whilst NLG only plays one on tv.

Viola should step out and either defend Nancy or questioned her BUT talk about what happened and move forward. Remember when people talked? Viola is a women. Nancy is a women. Discuss the issues and share their experiences and move on. Nancy should not be fired. She is not racist. Whoopi has said things on the “View” I disagree with and sometimes offended me. I dont watch the show. I dont expect Whoopi to be fired. If Nancy upset you, dont watch her! Both women work for ABC, owned by Disney. Neither should be fired. Tune out and let the chips fall where they fall. Quit pointing fingers UNLESS you walk on water! BTW, I find it odd that a 57 year old women is obsessed with Twitter! Just the same, Alec Baldwin looks like a fool, to!

I was watching Extra last night and then Mario Lopez came on not in the show but in a commercial for Jublia and he was on the red carpet spotting Toenail Fungus. I thought it was hysterical. Why can’t we bring Heather?

Heather? Only if she brings Luke. I miss him!

I have seen no offical real interview with Nancy and is it possible she- just like Julian, is being set-up by Paul Hornsby?

Lol. Yeah! This Paul Hornsby thing was such a last minute twist. He shot Sonny? What am I missing?

Remember Heather’s long-suffering mother? And Diana Taylor and I forget her son’s- no Stephan Lars the doctor who is in prison but what did he do? She can bring Luke and when she returned this last time she was rather nasty and killed immediately and chowed down BLTs. When she was on 300 years ago and I can still see her dressing in the nurse’s uniform I think and sneaking out of the mental hospital ?? But she was just kinda disturbed and clever and it built up with suspense and intrigue but did not take 9 months –or 2 years. It was great.

Neither Viola or Shonda will say one word and by that they are throwing shade on NLG. And what I love about this whole fetid affair is how life imitated art or true method acting as Patricia Arquette went CSI on NLG. Stop that right now!! I wish she would have seized NLGs tweeter and arrested her-but I digress-and often.
I put myself in NLGs shoes–and they were way too small- but imagine working next to Grey’s Anatomy daily and putting in 3x the hours for 10x less pay. Then soap actors forced to pony up more for medical/dental than their nightime/movie counterparts and receive less in benefits. I would get pissy about that too and want more too, I am sure despite all the money and fame soap stars have- being paid less, working more and being thought of as lesser- would bug the sh*t out of me, too.
There are hierarchies in every field regardless taxi/limo driver maid at motel 6 or 4 seasons sales at Nordstroms or Kmart.
You can not say anything as a white person about people of color without the racist machine going into overdrive as it did instantly. But never, it seems, in reverse. NLG was cooking- which from what I understand is a huge challenge for her and not a slam-and probably a couple of glasses of wine and in and out of the kitchen- and tweeting and tweeting when she heard Viola’s speech her claws came out but I don’t think race ever entered her mind. I can see doing and have put my foot or feet in my mouth often and regret it and she did and does I think and I still like her. I think.

I have really spent a lot of time thinking about this and I can see why NLG is getting so much shit when I did not before. Huge huge moment of victory not only for Viola but for black people in her win and very emotional. NLG crapped on it. She is not a racist but crapping when and where she did was hurtful to a lot of people and interpreted as racism and I see that now too.

Life isnt fair. Daytime works harder than Primetime and gets less money. In football, the linemen do all the dirty work and the quarterback gets ALL the money and endorsements. Race is a hot button issue that will never die. Sadly, we as Americans of all color need to look out for our fellow neighbors and worry about each other and look outside of this country for the enemy. We see it everyday. People from other countries want to ruin what we are blessed with as citizens of the USA. Do we appreciate that privileged? Quit pointing fingers because you dont look like the person standing next to you!

Remember when people talked? Discuss the issues, share your experiences and move on. Those were your words in the start of the post. Now I need to quit pointing my fingers at those that don’t look like me and look outside the country for the enemy. Alrightee then, thanks, Timm.

I used to follow Nancy on twitter. Had to stop because all of her mean spirited remarks against anyone who was not just like her. I can barely stand to watch her on GH anymore

See? I just don’t know what to think anymore, Jen. You are saying she’s mean and a downright she-devil with her tweets. I trust that’s true. She should be given a set-to. I hope she reads these comments and perhaps, some of our opinions/ observations will know some sense into her.
While I am trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, I read another negative post such as yours.
I do not like the character either. Could the actress live vicariously through her personification of Alexis? But, even Alexis is up there in years, acting as young as her youngest daughters.
It certainly can’t be a phase or change of life ….way passed that. As Timmm said, what is a 57-year woman doing on Twitter? I am so on the fence about this. I would not make a good juror with my vacillating like this…LOL.

CeeCee galpal, loving you and I don’t tweet and you can go online to twitter and read people’s tweets without twitering yourself–albeit a good deal of the ones involved in this fiasco have been deleted by NLG and others—but sister I am in that same age group and if I did get my fat self on twitter I have as much right as a 20 year old. Many in their 40’s 50’s 60’s and beyond tweet and often have interesting things to say. xox

I’m sorry Beth. I don’t tweet. So, I spoke out of turn. Of course, you’re right. But, see where tweeting gets people? My bad, though. Nancy has a right to tweet and say what she pleases. ….and suffer the consequences when her tweets are misconstrued. I still think she meant well and people jumped all over her…peace out.

Fifty-seven, 67, 107…Trying to garner support for one’s projects or opinions has nothing to do with age (or sex, but, that’s another topic). People of ALL walks of life….and that includes different ages, are on Twitter. Disclaimer Lest this be cause for another battle round…this post is to no one on particular. It’s a statement of fact.

The only thing that happened Sunday night was NLG had too much to drink and got on twitter I am sure now that she is sober she is mortified. When ever we start this topic of race in this country I always think of the movie Guess Who’s coming to Dinner when Sidney Poitier is fighting with his father about him wanting to marry a white girl and he tells his father Dad you look in the mirror and see yourself as a black man I look in the mirror and see myself as a man. Race will never cease to exit as long as we have people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton etc feeding the flames and I might add profiting off of it. As my husband would say nothing more to see here Let’s Move On!

Nancy Lee Grahn’s Star-Studded ALS Fundraiser Reveals “I’ll Be There” Video Featuring Soap Opera Notables

Talk about your impressive line-up! It’s a soap fans dream and for a great cause. General Hospital’s Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) is prepping her one-night only ALS fundraiser which will feature many of her friends and co-stars.

The benefit is set for May 4th in Glendale, California. Slated to participate are Genie Francis, Jane Elliot, Peter Bergman, Maurice Benard, Eileen Davidson, Thorsten Kaye, Michelle Stafford, Stephen Nichols, Rena Sofer, Jason Thompson, Kelly Monaco, Melissa Claire Egan, Maura West, Kristina Wagner, Gregory Harrison, Trevor St. John, Kate Mansi, Kirsten Storms, Cynthia Watros, and many others.

On Wednesday, Grahn took to her social media and released an “I’ll be there” video shout-out featuring, Monaco, Elliot, Bergman, Bernard, West, Harrison, St. John and more. In a touching and important moment in the new video, Michelle Strogny, who is battling ALS, is featured.

Photo: ABC

Previously, in speaking with Soap Opera Digest on the impetus of the event, Grahn recalled, “I was actually doing Zoom events during Covid and I met this woman that I just fell in love with, Michelle Strojny. At the time, Michelle had been living with ALS for four years. Now, it’s five years. She is a mom of a teenage son, she has the most wonderful husband, and she has been dealing with this [disease] for quite a while. And obviously, there isn’t a cure yet. It’s not survivable yet. But as she says, it’s not incurable. Nothing is; it’s underfunded. But anyway, I just really dug this woman. She is so grounded and filled with grace, and she spends all of her time working to raise money for the cause. We did a fundraiser for her last year and then I thought, ‘You know what? The soaps don’t ever get together to do something for charity.’ Collectively, we have this amazing community and we don’t collectively use it for a good cause, and I think it’s such an easy thing for us to do and we could potentially really make a difference.”

As GH viewers know, Gregory Harrison is playing the character of Gregory Chase, who is also battling ALS in a touching storyline that is currently playing out shedding a light on this disease.

‘General Hospital’ Writer Shannon Peace Let Go, and Shares on Sprina: “One of My Only Regrets is to Not Have the Opportunity to Develop That ‘Ship’ Further”

As General Hospital’s new head writing team of Elizabeth Korte and Patrick Mulcahy gets off the ground and running, there are still changes a foot on the writing team.

Now comes word via breakdown writer Shannon Peace that she is no longer on contract with the long-running ABC soap heading into its 61st season. Peace shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram, thanking the fans, and the show for the opportunity and the importance of diversity in the writers room.

Peace began, “After almost 3 years on staff and 106 episodes penned, I am no longer on contract with General Hospital. Writing for this country’s longest running television serial drama has been an education of epic proportions; I will forever be grateful that I earned my WGA card on a daytime fixture that holds memories for so many.” (Peace pictured below with GH EP Frank Valentini and script writer, Charlotte Gibson from about ten months ago).

Shannon added “Even more importantly, as the sole Black breakdown writer (and only POC in the writers room) during my tenure, I pushed for vital interactions and discussions that prioritized inclusion, visibility, and representation”

The writer pointed to the example of vital interaction when in story, “Stella and Portia’s frank July 2022 conversation about the role race played in Esme’s framing of Trina is just one example of the impact I’m gratified to have had.”

Acknowledging former GH co-head writers was also part of Peace’s farewell expressing, “Appreciation to my former bosses, Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor – not only taking a chance on me, but for valuing my opinion and championing my voice.”

Many GH fans know that Peace was key to the development of the love story between Trina Robinson and Spencer Cassadine as played by Tabyana Ali and Nicholas Chavez. Shannon gave a special shout-out to ‘Sprina’ fans, “I also want to thank fans who were supportive of my work, especially the recognition of my love for ‘Sprina’. One of my only regrets is not having to develop that ‘ship’ further.”

She concludes her statement with,”In the aftermath of a historic writer’s strike that shed new light on the troubling ways writers are regarded in daytime, my sincere hope is that General Hospital recommits to valuing staff writer efforts and input, with a more intentional focus on diverse viewpoints — and thrives for another 60 years.”

Accompanying her post, Shannon added, “Thank you all for the love and support these last few years. I hope GH fans get all they hope for and more!”

So, what do you think about GH not renewing Shannon’s contract? Will there be more continued changes afoot? What do you think is the future of ‘Sprina’ anyway at this point as viewers wait to see if Nicholas Chavez officially returns to the show?  Comment below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Learns Britt Died and Tells Anna He Has Been Working For Cates Since November 2021

On the Tuesday, March 26th of General Hospital, Anna (Finola Hughes) and the viewers learn about where Jason (Steve Burton) has been for over two and half years. However, Jason gets some news of his own.

Anna is visiting Jason at the PCPD interrogation room. She asks him if he shot Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), which he flatly denies. Anna believes him, but she tells Jason it doesn’t matter, because video footage shows him on the roof at the time of the shooting

When talk turns to Jason not willing to speak without his lawyer present, Anna can’t grasp why Jason would instead spend an hour alone talking with John Cates (Adam J. Harrington).

Photo: ABC

It is then that Anna brings up that John went by “Jagger” and that the two of them knew each other in high school. Jason doesn’t recall much of his time in high school following his brain injury, but then he gets furious realizing John knew about “Jason’s” past. That is when Jason slams the table and tells Anna, “I’ve been working for John Cates since November 2021.”

Next, Jason explains further that he has been working as an informant for the FBI. Anna wants to know how this came about and he tells her that after the tunnel collapsed, and he couldn’t make it to Britt (Kelly Thiebaud)… all of a sudden he sees Anna’s face drop.  Anna is the first person to tell him that Britt died and was murdered. She tells Jason the killer is in custody, but he continues to be shocked, overwhelmed with tears welling up in his eyes. Realizing he has to pivot to save his life, Jason continues telling Anna how he wound up working with John.

Jason explains that after the tunnel collapse in Greece, FBI agents grabbed him and placed him under arrest and took him to Quantico where he met John. At Quantico, John played a recording of RICO violations and offered Jason a deal if he agreed to be an informant against Pikeman, the illegal arms dealer.

Anna hears from Jason that he thinks Pikeman is selling illegal arms to anyone flagged by the NSA but has ties to the WSB which they needed a civilian to infiltrate their organization as a military soldier, a mercenary.

Jason tells Anna he was a part of the team brought into eliminate Sonny (Maurice Benard). Every time an attempt was made on Sonny’s life over the last two years, a different team was sent to do the job. Anna gets furious when she learns that John told Jason his job was to kill Sonny and she was with John at the warehouse that night. Jason ensured the sniper missed Sonny and left the rifle behind. However, they were supposed to meet an extraction team. Before he was shot, Dante saw it was Jason on the roof and when he turned around with his hands over his head, Dante was shot by the other guy. Jason says if Dante dies, he’ll be charged with capital murder and then will be useless to the FBI.

Photo: ABC

Meanwhile, John visits Bobbie’s and runs into Carly (Laura Wright). She learns Jason is in custody and is going to head to the PCPD. Before she does, Carly has some words with Cates when she learns not only does John have a vendetta against Sonny, but Jason too.  Carly tells John he should recuse himself from the case.

So, what did you think about the moment when Jason learned Britt died? What do you think of Jason’s return storyline thus far and what we learned about Jagger/Jason and more? Comment below. But first, check out a moment from today’s GH with Jason and Anna.
