GH Alum Sebastian Roché Joins The Cast Of CW’s ‘Batwoman’

Photo: JPI

Jerry Jacks and Batwoman on the same screen?  Well, not exactly, but good news for talented actor Sebastian Roché and his fans.  The former evil Jacks of Port Charles has landed a recurring role on the new CW series.

According to Deadline, in Batwoman, Roché, is set to play Dr. Campbell, one of Gotham’s most well-respected plastic surgeons and philanthropists.

Sebastian is no stranger to the CW having previously appeared in both The Vampire Diaries and The Originals for the network.

Roché shared his enthusiasm of his new gig sharing on Twitter: “I’m heading to Gotham”

The DC standalone series starring Ruby Rose and it premieres tomorrow night (Sunday) at 8 PM EST.

The log line for the new series shares: “Based on the DC character, Kate Kane (Rose) soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. In a city desperate for a savior, she must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.”

Will you be checking out Sebastian on Batwoman? Think Jerry Jacks might somehow turn up in Port Charles again someday?  Back in June of 2019, during a chat between Robert and Jax, it was revealed that Jerry had escaped from Steinmauer! So, anything is possible. Comment below.

I have seen him in other things other than GH and he really is fun to watch in anything he does. I am very happy for him and hope this series has a good run.

Well that pretty much rules out any chance of him showing up in Port Charles anytime soon.

Plastic surgeon & philanthropist?? Yeah, that might be his “cover gig”. But when has Sebastian ever NOT been the bad guy?? Hell, in his last gig (Man in the High Castle) he actually poisoned Adolf Hitler, because he didn’t think he was evil enough anymore!!

I am happy for him and his future recurring run in Batwoman but I hope one day he can come back to GH as Jerry Jacks. They did say he escaped from Steinmauer and I want to see Jerry Jacks again. Maybe someday they will bring him back and hopefully he can come back for an extended period of time. Maybe do an extended arc with him in it? I want to see him again.

Agreed! Roche’ is extremely talented and never disappoints, no matter the role he is playing! However, his many continuing non-GH acting triumphs mean that Jerry Jacks will most likely not be visiting Port Charles for the foreseeable future, and that is indeed a crying shame! For me, Helena and he are the “real deals” when speaking of the soap’s top-tier villains…all other recent substitutes are only a pale imitation of the treachery and chaos they embody!!! (Except for Dr. O….but there is only so much evil-doing she can accomplish by her lonesome!) Short of Helena (or perhaps, Victor) Cassadine’s return(s) from the dead, I cannot imagine any other GH antagonist of yore who can compare with the terror a Jerry Jacks sighting in Port Charles brings! Please come back soon, Sebastian!

I hope he does. I even have an idea for a story they could do if he ever returns.

Sebastian’s Jerry Jacks always makes any GH storyline better simply by his mere presence! His gleefully naughty, roguish demeanor just thrills me to no end…I love that no matter how evil his plans, he never fails to have that twinkle in his eye as he merrily implements them!

More of the Story on ‘General Hospital’ Star Josh Kelly’s Latest Film Role in ‘The Workout’

We had previously shared that General Hospital’s Josh Kelly was taking three weeks away from his role of Cody Bell to a shoot a role in an upcoming movie entitled The Workout.

Josh originally revealed his role in the film during an episode of GH castmates, Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradford Anderson’s (Spinelli) podcast.

Now Deadline has filled in some of the blanks, and shared some intriguing intel on the premise of the film and its back-story.  The film stars Kelly along with Peter Jae, and UFC Fighter, Ashlee Evans-Smith. Other cast members include The Bay’s Kristos Andrews.

In The Workout, two army rangers set out to create a workout video, but their plans are abruptly halted when a mob hit interrupts their filming. Tragically, one of the rangers loses his wife in the attack, sending him on a relentless mission to take down the mob and anyone who stands in his way.

The film from James Cullen Bressack, almost did not get financed.  Apparently, ten days before his birthday, Bressack made a post on Instagram about the feature and production, casting, and financing came from the post … illustrating the power of social media. After the post gained traction, a producer provided financing and actors expressed interest in joining the project, leading to a quick production.

In a statement, Bressack shared, “As artists a painter paints, a musician makes music, a writer writes, but as filmmakers we have to ask permission to create. It’s time to change that narrative. This film spawned from a necessity to create. We create. We tell stories. We play pretend. I’m excited to take this journey. This is the truest form of collaboration and a community of friends coming together to make something fun. While our industry has had a rough time recently with strikes and a possible strike looming in the future, it’s nice to remind ourselves why we got into film to begin with. To have fun telling stories.”

No word yet on when The Workout will be released.

So, looking forward to seeing this collaborative effort featuring GH’s Josh Kelly? Comment below.
