Sam almost confides in Alexis but is stopped by an encounter with Heather.  Meanwhile, Sam goes off to open the test results privately – and runs into John McBain.  Jason tells Sonny about Kate’s bizarre behavior.  Sonny confronts Michael about his relationship with Starr.  Starr questions McBain on his personal interest in Sonny.  Another Vaughn’s girl suffers an attack, and Delores realizes Dante, Lulu and Ronnie have their suspicions. Dante and Ronnie return with damning evidence.

Sam runs into McBain on the docks, and she opens the paternity test results in his presence. She crumbles into his arms on the reveal: Franco is the father. The question remains: will Sam tell Jason the truth? Heather Webber comes close to telling Jason the truth herself, but she stops short. Sonny presses Kate on what she wanted to tell him (she was going to tell him about Connie). Meanwhile, Carly once again asks Johnny point blank: did he plant the gun in Kate’s office? Sonny is found not guilty, setting Starr Manning and Johnny Zaccharra off in front of the courtroom. Starr vows to make Sonny pay. Later, Michael finds Starr packing.

Sam comes clean with Jason, telling him the news that Franco is his brother. Jason grapples with the fact that not only is he related to a psychopath, he killed his own twin brother. Later, Jason wonders how this affects the DNA paternity truth … and Sam confirms his worst fears. Before Kate can reveal the truth about Connie to Sonny, Olivia interrupts. Kate finds herself in a losing battle with her alternate personality. After Connie emerges, she plans to give Sonny a memorable birthday. Hurt by Carly’s allegations, Johnny reminds her of his alibi: her. Their feelings for one another renewed, Carly tells Sonny to back off of Johnny. Michael tries to convince Starr to stay in Port Charles, pledging to help her find the real killer of her family. EOD, Starr shows up at Johnny’s door. Under duress from Johnny, Steve gets involved in shady mob business. Meanwhile, Olivia asks Sonny for help with the Johnny/Steve situation. Maggie makes the mistake of calling Heather “crazy.” Later, Heather charms her way through Ewen’s psychoanalysis.

After the bombshell that Franco is Sam’s baby’s father, Jason is reeling. He’s hit harder when he realizes Sam has kept all of this from him, just as she did with Robin’s death. As things settle in, Jason and Sam are in a private hell. Anna talks McBain out of taking revenge on Sonny. Later, McBain agrees to give himself 60 days to incarcerate Sonny according to the law. As Sonny assures Michael that Johnny is no longer a threat, we see Johnny fueling Starr’s hatred of Sonny — and they shake on a deal. Shocked by seeing how Patrick is living these days, Epiphany calls Patrick out on wallowing in his grief. Meanwhile, Spinelli tells Matt he thinks Patrick murdered Lisa, only to reverse his opinion by the end of the episode. Jason looks at the sonogram of his dead brother’s baby. Sam is worried that her baby might be evil. Jason wants to believe this child is his in every way but he makes it clear that he doesn’t want Sam to protect him. Sam thinks they should go to Sonny’s party.  Alexis drops off acquittal papers at Sonny’s as Connie tries to hook up with Johnny. Johnny tells Connie no again. Connie eavesdrops on Alexis and Sonny and later tells Alexis about the party tonight. Connie invites Sam and Jason to the birthday party. Everyone is gathering at the Metro Court for the party: Connie suggests a wardrobe change to Alexis. Michael tells Sonny that Carly is coming to the party san Johnny. Sonny tells Jason that Kate has stopped seeing her shrink. Connie attacks the birthday cake and leaves.

Dante and Ronnie bust a black market organ operation moving through GH. They pay Johnny a visit; tell him how they made this organ bust. Back at the PCPD, Dante comments that he’s isn’t so sure Eddie is the attacker.  Meanwhile, Lulu goes to see Luke. She believes the wrong man was arrested in the stripper attack case and that the real attacker is Ronnie! Luke’s advice is for her to talk to Dante about Ronnie. Lulu heads back to the PCPD and checks the duty rosters for a pattern when Ronnie wanders up.

Michael tells Carly about the birthday party Kate is throwing tonight at the Metro Court. Michael believes his mother is dating the man that tried to frame his father. Carly decides to go to Sonny’s party. Carly goes to see Johnny, who has trashed his penthouse after Dante’s visit. Carly admits she has real feelings for Johnny. She then leaves for Sonny’s party. Johnny calls Sonny and tells him he will get him where it most hurts. Later, Connie shows up at Johnny’s

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Drew and Nina Get Physical; Were You Surprised or Did You Expect it to Happen?

On the Tuesday, April 9th episode of General Hospital, Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) explosive relationship just turned up the heat another notch.

In story, Nina who was responsible (although she doesn’t see it that way) for Drew being sent to prison for insider trading when she tipped off the SEC, let out her feelings to him about how to get back in the good graces of her daughter, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Michael (Chad Duell). In doing so, she asks him for his help with it.

For months, the two have had nothing short of contentious moments, where Drew has not let Nina off the hook for what he did to him, or to his ex Carly (Laura Wright). Fast-forward and when alone in the Crimson office, Nina brings up wanting to stick it to Carly again.

Photo: ABC

As they banter back and forth, Drew can’t figure out why he should help Nina at all with any of her manipulations. Suddenly, as he tried to exit, his shirt rips and exposes his bare chest and abs, and Nina get quite an eyeful. From there, things become physical and before you know it, Drew and Nina are making out and having their version of hate-sex.

Cameron Mathison spoke to Soap Opera Digest on the shocking turn events, sharing, “I didn’t see it coming at all. I really didn’t. I think the audience did. Cynthia did some appearances and I guess the audience was ‘You and Drew, there’s some sexy chemistry there.’ I was like, ‘Wait, what? Really?’ I didn’t even get it. So I love it that it was very unexpected. The writers saw it, too. And, I love that it’s not a typical way for two people to be … physical. I was gonna say intimate, but there’s not a lot of intimacy there. And then as soon as it’s over, it’s back to arguing and giving each other crap again. It was really cute and really well done.”

As the fallout for their office room romp will air on the Wednesday April 10th episode, just how will the two deal with the fact that they had this fiery passionate moment in the weeks and months ahead? Will this be Nina’s new plot to get at Carly to be seen with her ex? Will Drew and Nina never speak of this again? (Well, this is a soap opera, after all, that’s pretty doubtful), or is this part of a major reset for some of the characters on the canvas now that Patrick Mulcahey and Elizabeth Korte are co-head writing the show?

Courtesy/ABC

Speaking on the aftermath of the tryst, Mathison added, “The two of them are both like, all right, let’s forget about that and move on. It’s like a weird kind of aggression attraction. There’s obviously attraction there, but I don’t think either of them expected it, and I think they’re both totally shocked and surprised by it. I think Drew gets a kick out of it whereas Nina is a little embarrassed by it.”

Now let us know, did you see this coming? Did you think Drew and Nina would have sex? What do you think of the story turn? Comment below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jake Is Not Ready to Welcome Back Jason with Open Arms

On the Monday, April 1st episode of General Hospital, Jason (Steve Burton) shows up at Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst) house to thank her for being present at his arraignment. In true Jason fashion, he is sorry he did not come by sooner. Liz indicates that now is actually better timing than previously.

First, Jason acknowledges how Epiphany would be so proud, now that Liz is head nurse of GH. At that point, Jake (Hudson West) comes down the staircase ans is not happy at all to see his father standing there.

Then, the series finally leans into some of the unresolved issues facing this father and son.  Jake asks where Jason he had been; citing he did not bother to send any emails or try to call him or the family. Jason says he had to take a job he didn’t want and he swears to his son that he could not get in contact with him for many reasons. He asks Jake to please believe him.

Jason truly wants to spend time with Jake, but Jake says he can’t trust his father; especially since he has no idea how long he will be in town. At that point, Jake points out that Jason didn’t come back for him, and he is in front of him now and he still won’t explain anything to him. Liz chimes in that she understands Jake’s point of view, but she is very happy to see Jason is alive.

After Jason leaves, Liz sits down with Jake so the young man can air out his feelings about Jason. Jake gets angry with her for not coming down harder on Jason. Jake asks if she knew all along where Jason was and covered it up and lied to him. She swears to Jake she had no idea Jason was alive.

Courtesy/ABC

At the end of the scene, Jake says he feels guilty.  In Jake’s mind, he feels it was better when Jason was believed “dead” than him being alive and committing crimes. To try to build a bridge, Liz swears to Jake that Jason truly cares for him even if he doesn’t say it much.  She promises that in the future Jake will see that Jason will keep showing up for him.

What did you think of the scenes between Hudson West, Rebecca Herbst and Steve Burton? Will Jake come around and find common ground with Jason?

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Valentin’s Running Pikeman and His Plan to Take Down Sonny Revealed; Dante Wakes Up and Clears Jason

The Friday, March 29th episode of General Hospital brought with it revelations, a welcome wake-up, plus several emotional beats that served up a much-needed story shake-up.

In a shocker, Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) is back and is being escorted in a prison transport van from Pentonville. He asks the driver where are they going? The driver pulls over, and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) hops in. It is then the conversation becomes very intriguing. Brennan tells Valentin he thought he had abandoned him. Valentin says Brennan left him with a mess and he has to put out all the fires. Brennan thought maybe he’d let Pikeman burn down around him!

Next, Valentin tells Brennan how was it that no one at Pikeman knew Jason (Steve Burton) was working as an inside informant under the name Alan Jacobs. He continues sharing that Jason worked his way up in the company from the bottom. Someone should have figured this out. Valentin snarls that there are no worries because soon Jason will be joining Brennan at Pentonville for shooting Dante (Dominic Zamprogna). Brennan asks Valentin, does Jason know that Valentin has been running Pikeman since he has been arrested?

Valentin tells Brennan that he got sloppy, coming to Port Charles, and getting involved with Carly (Laura Wright). Brennan says he had no idea she’d turn out to be Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) ex-wife. In his plan, Valentin reveals he’s given crumbs to make Sonny think a man named Stone who has been dead is after him, so he won’t suspect it’s Pikeman. He says if Sonny won’t work with Pikeman in the territory, they must must eliminate him. Brennan says they need his shipping terminal and Sonny is in the way. Valentin says Sonny will take himself down. They won’t have to kill him.

Marking a true villain turn, Valentin reveals to Brennan that Sonny suffers from bipolar disorder, so he has arranged with his pharmacist, to replace part of his medication with placebos. Thus, removing him will be child’s play. Brennan warns him not to underestimate Sonny. Valentin says Sonny has survived being medicated. He has already beaten up an old man. Brennan says that, “It’s official!” Valentin is still diabolical. Next, Valentin hands Brennan a wad of cash to bribe the guards at Pentonville, He tells Brennan he has everything under control with Pikeman from here. When Brennan brings up Anna (Finola Hughes), Valentin warns if Anna ever finds out what he is up to from Brennan, he will never get out of prison.

Brennan is driven back to Pentonville, and talks to the driver about Valentin, and how they rose to the top together. Brennan hopes he didn’t bore the driver. However, when the driver let’s him out, it is revealed that the driver is deaf. So whatever Brennan said can never get back to anyone.

Meanwhile, at General Hospital, Dante is waking up. Sam (Kelly Monaco) calls Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) who is beside herself that her son is coming to after being in a coma.Rocco (Finn Carr), Olivia and company head to GH. Dante tells Sam he is sorry and he loves her. He is in tears waking up and seeing the love of his life. Shortly after that, Olivia, Rocco, and Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) arrive. In a tender moment, Rocco hugs his father.

Dante wants to speak to Anna about the shooting. Sam gets in touch with Anna, who heads to the hospital. Inside Dante’s room he reveals that Jason did not shoot him, but helped him survive and says, “Jason is the reason I’m alive.”  Anna is relieved to hear this news.

At Sonny’s Penthouse, Jason and Carly try to talk to Sonny with Ava in the room. Jason says he can come back another time. Carly says Sonny needs to hear what he has to say. Jason says he didn’t shoot Dante. Sonny assumes he’s out on bail, and Carly confirms that it was Michael who paid it. Carly is stunned that Ava is here for all of this. Sonny says Ava was in that warehouse the night of the shooting too.  Sonny says he knows Jason was on the roof, and Jason says he made sure Sonny didn’t die. Sonny doesn’t know why he should believe a word Jason is saying.

Next, Jason reveals he has been working for the feds since he has been gone for two and half years as he needed to protect himself. Sonny is angered. Carly tells Sonny Jason explained why he did it, and Sonny doesn’t believe him. He says his survival instincts have kicked in, he can’t trust Jason or Carly, they are both traitors and he orders them to leave.

Ava thanks Sonny for backing her up and defending her presence to Carly. Sonny says he knew it would piss off Carly. He says he thought Carly would stick by him no matter what, but it’s always about Jason. Jason is first for Carly. Ava offers to fix a drink for Sonny as she can use one too. He exits the room for a minute and just then Sonny’s phone gets a text, and it’s from Olivia that Dante is awake. Instead of showing it to Sonny, Ava moves the phone from the table to the mantel. When he returns, she tells him that she called the hospital and found out that Dante is awake. Wanting to head over there, Ava says the doctors are probably examining him and he should wait until the morning to go to GH.

Sonny tells Ava that out of everything that has happened to him, that she’s been the only one truly there for him. Ava doubts she’s the only one. Sonny kisses her, then says goodnight and leaves the room. Ava looks shocked. But what is going on here? Is Ava in on a plot to bring down Sonny with Valentin?

Courtesy/ABC

At the end of the episode, Jason and Carly go to Bobbie’s and they share an emotional toast to her. Jason says he’s sorry he wasn’t here for her when Bobbie passed. Carly cannot understand what is happening with Sonny and how he’s behaving. Carly wants to know Jason’s plans.  He doesn’t know how long he can stay in Port Charles, so they figure out the best place for him to stay is in an apartment that Carly recently renovated above Bobbie’s.  The phone rings and it’s Anna. Carly learns Dante is awake and cleared Jason’s name. Anna knows Jason is there with her without saying it. Carly and Jason hug.

So, what did you think of Friday’s GH? Are you shocked … Valentin is running Pikeman? Sonny’s mental illness is being exploited in a cruel way to get him out of the way? What do you think is up with Ava? What were your favorite moments? Rocco and Dante? Jason and Carly scenes? Weigh-in below. But first, check out this moment between Brennan and Valentin.
