Congrats to GH for 5 awards! That is with Michael McBain!! Star and Todd from OLTL that helped get the 5 awards!! I am very happy for GH and wish them the best. Glad to see our one or two soaps that we have left get awards! What does that tell everyone? Bring back soaps! Bring back OLTL!! Get those actors back to work!! Soaps are still alive and people watch them!! Thank you Michael for always sharing the up to date soap news with us…Thanks for all that you do!! I have you on fb and twitter… I know if you or myself were wealthy you would have a network and bring back OLTL and AMC.. because there are still millions of fans that love the soaps! Congrats to GH and Y & R… Thank you Michael!

these awards are for the 2011 season, sorry judi, but it’s no emmy award for GH current regime, its for the old one. sorry to break your heart, but GH isn’t winning all these awards because of FV and RC, for that we wont know till the 2012 season is over and up for nominations.

I know it was creative arts awards, and casting director for GH won, which means the actors they added from OLTL was a good move!! As for winning the song? well I am happy for GH, but I loved the exciting music, graphics, etc from OLTL… was the best ever… Congrats GH and Y & R at least we have you ….. Will be watching for the pictures from the Creative Arts In Daytime … so I can see the presenters… Your the best Michael Thank you!!

These awards were for things that happened in 2011, so the OLTL actors coming to GH weren’t a part of it.

I just want to say, I turned on the tv, this morning to watch a little SoapNet and catch an old episode of OLTL while I got ready for work and found that Disney Jr has taken over the original programming that was once there. I find it just strange how quietly this was done overnight. I knew that SaopNet wass ending, but thought there was still a little bit more time before this crap took over. ABC sucks!!! I hate how they deal with this. There was no announcement or anything about this.

Torrey your lucky that Soapnet lasted this long for you as here in Sacramento if you had Comcast Cable they took off Soapnet back in mid April.

Torrey, I still have soapnet on direct tv, how were you getting it before, what cable company? A friend of mine lost it they had comcast. I know one evening that’s when I like to watch soap net, It will be gone it’s just a matter of time. I don’t understand why I am getting it then there are so many others who aren’t but it still has the regular programming of soap net and there is disney junior, Wish someone would explain. Abc does suck, you got that right.

I live in the NW portion of Florida, and have Mediacom. I was receiving Soapnet until this morning. I’m really depressed by it. I usually have to be to work early in the morning, and would get up and watch old episodes of OLTL. It was my way of keeping the show alive, for me….

I sent Michael a tweet, but don’t know if he’ll respond or be able to come up with the answer, but I would love to know how the cancellation of AMC & OLTL have truly effected the remaining daytime lineup of ABC. I mean, I know that the Revolution is in the tank, and will soon begone too. But I want to know if The View, GMA and all the other shows have faired in the ratings, since ABC stupidly got rid of AMC & OLTL

I live in florida to, the central part, I heard a few weeks ago that the chew isn’t doing as good as all my children did, Its so sad I miss one life to live and all my children and I would like to know the true ratings of the other abc shows to, I never understood why abc canceled those soaps, I know for sure that the revolution never came close to beating One life to live, All I know is I don’t think abc will ever have the daytime fans like they had when the soaps were on I know I will never go back if they get rid of general hospital that will be the last show I ever watch on their network.

Don’t think Y&R should have won for hairstyling. Don’t think it’s too creative. Days should have won for Sami’s hair alone! Nice to see Days did win for makeup.

Agreed on both counts.

I agree with you both.

IMO… doesn’t Sammi, seem to have come in to her own… ala… grand dame… of DAYS.. she’s a full figured woman… ala queen mum Marlena… when Sammi quaffs her hair bun style… she reels old serial gussied up. it adds mystique and lends herself meaning for acting soap. re-posting this….

I like Allison Sweeney’s and/or days choices in Sammi’s look… she totally embodies her womanhood.

for all the changes that are going on at DAYS – Allison Sweeney, has been the one constant.. who has carried… DAYS… the torch, heroine, handed down… from Ms. Classy Deidre Hall. Kudos to Allison Sweeney and Chandler Massey.

Whenever any of my abc soaps win I will be happy. One life to live got something, I guess you have to keep the lights on. who keeps the emmys? Abc ? still not happy one life to live was left out of the drama and writing series. congrats general hospital I hope our soaps do good next saturday.

yea for the 2 AMC won, and the one OLTL got, seriously would have liked for Paul Glass to win the outstanding original song though 🙁

It was my hope that Y&R would lose in every single category in both creative and acting categories this year. It would be a major indictment on MAB’s disgusting run of a once glorious show.

AMEN!!!

it’s a Hoot that Y&R, still, counts, and advertises, whenever, the actors, plug, the show… it’s the #1 show… FOR YEARS!

use to irritate me… and i say this, cause,,, i’d be watching other shows.. and wanted my show to be #1. ATWT. DAYS. Santa Barbara. AMC. etc… thru the years… and, don’t get me wrong… i’d still keep up with Y&R… and for many of those (suspect) lol… years at #1… can see why it gained a huge following… that being said… i’m not watching y&r… and agree, with most fans… because of MAB. and, for the millionth time,,, letting go of Eileen davidson.

Congrats Y&R on three wins, very well received!
Also a congrats to B&B and DAYS on winning 2!

DAYS! DOOL, WINS 2! Make-Up and Stunt!

Mathew Ashford, Chandler Massey, Molly Burnett…. three gold statues, honoring your stellar conbribution to daytime serials…. DAYS’ – Best Serial.

I hold out hope in the wake of the major upheaval… R.I.P. Bo, Melanie, Carrie, Austin, Jack, Madison, Ian, Lexie.

how could I have forgotten, Stefano…. R.I.P.

perhaps, it’s because he is Mr. DOOL.

He resonates… all that DAYS once was, and could be.

How did Y&R win for hair? Have they seen Sharon and Victoria’s hair?

Wishing a hearty congratulations to all of the Emmy winners. These are the people that make it happen day in and day out, with very little fanfare. So happy for them!! Thank you for all that you do!

Mark Consuelos Celebrates One-Year Anniversary as Co-Host of ‘Live’ Alongside Kelly Ripa

Today, April 17th marks a full-year since Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo, All My Children) took over the co-hosting duties of ‘Live” alongside his wife, and longtime co-host, Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley, All My Children).

Consuelos replaced Ryan Seacrest who are six seasons decided to be back on the west coast full-time. For Consuelos, now having the opportunity to work off of Ripa as co-hosts has been something of adjustment for him, but viewers have been eating it up.

Live with Kelly and Mark has remained the No. 1 entertainment talk show on television over the past year, growing 3% in average total viewers to 2.23M per episode.  It is also the most-watched daytime talk show in the last year in key demos of women 18-49 and women 25-54. All of this, since the real-life marrieds teamed-up.

Photo: ABC

Speaking with Deadline, Kelly Ripa shared why the two are gelling on-screen, “I do think that there is something very possibly relatable about our relationship. We have disagreements like a normal couple, and we’re not afraid to let them unfold on the air and in front of America, and I think people find a lot of themselves in that.”

Mark weighed in how he has progressed as a host, and what he could improve at, sharing, “I’d like to get better at my interviewing skills. I’d like to get better at reading a teleprompter…I think I’m getting better at throwing to commercial. The other day in the middle of the show as we go to commercial, my sign off was ‘See you guys around.’ I mean, the show wasn’t over. The most obvious thing to say would be, ‘We’ll be back right after this.’ But I just said, ‘See you around.’ So we went to commercial and one of the producers (goes) ‘What was that?’ I don’t know… So for the next few sign offs, as a joke, I’d say ‘See you around.’ We got a kick out of it.”

Photo: ABC

Meanwhile, Kelly has given huge props to Mark, “I find Mark utterly compelling, really interesting, super funny, and he’s bold in a way like nobody else. He says what’s on his mind. If he’s thinking it, he says it.  I’ve done this a long time and oftentimes people will adjust their natural personalities to pander to what they think the audience wants to hear, and Mark will tell people what he thinks, and he doesn’t care if it’s not a popular opinion. It gives him an edginess that I think is really missing in the landscape today. Everybody’s so afraid to say anything, and Mark is unafraid to say exactly what he’s thinking.”

In a statement, Debra O’Connell, President News Group and Networks, Disney Entertainment shared, We could not be more thrilled with how Mark has seamlessly joined the show family as permanent co-host. His undeniable charisma and his and Kelly’s natural chemistry are evident as they deliver the laughs and smiles to our viewers each morning. We are incredibly proud of how Live has continued to evolve and that the audience is responding so enthusiastically.”

So, do you think Mark Consuelos is the best co-host his wife Kelly Ripa has ever had on ‘Live’? How would you say he is doing as co-host after one full year on the job? Comment below.
