Today at the ABC Summer Press Tour for the Television Critics Association, the All-Stars were revealed of which former competitors from Dancing with the Stars would be back for its All-Star Edition.  And making it onto the ballroom dance series, and representing the soaps and GH is the fantastic Kelly Monaco (Sam), who was the original winner of season one! (And yes, the question was asked if John O’Hurley was asked back, but that seemed to be dodged by the seried EP, during the press conference!)

The All-Star cast and their professional partners will take to the stage for the season premiere of DANCING WITH THE STARS: ALL-STARS, Monday, September  24 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET) followed by the premiere of DANCING WITH THE STARS THE RESULTS SHOW on Tuesday, September 25 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on ABC.

Along with Kelly, here is who made in into this highly competitive special edition! Pamela Sue Anderson, Kirstie Alley, Pamela Anderson, Helio Castroneves, Joey Fatone, Shawn Johnson,  Drew Lachey, Gilles Marini, Apolo Anton Ohno, Bristol Palin, Melissa Rycroft and Emmitt Smith.

As announced three former competitors will compete for the last spot with the “Viewer’s Choice” selection and fans can go to ABC.com as of today and vote for the next four weeks, of who they would like to see get the final spot: Sabrina Bryan, Carson Kressley or Kyle Massey.   The three contestants competing to be the “Viewers’ Choice: All-Star” will kick-off their campaign with their first television interview live in-studio on “Good Morning America,” Monday, July 30.

Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars and Dancing with the Stars: All-Stars the Results Show return this season with new surprises and all the performance elements viewers have come to know and love. “Macy’s Stars of Dance,” featuring some of the best choreographers and performers from the different styles of dance who offer viewers performances that represent the peach of achievement in their genres, will return. The show also welcomes the return of the “AT&T Spotlight Performance,” which features and celebrates people whose lives have been changed forever by dance. AT&T is also helping the search to find these performers by allowing fans to nominate potential dancers.  Hosted by Tom Bergeron (“America’s Funniest Home Videos”) and Brooke Burke-Charvet (“Dancing with the Stars” Season Seven Champion), the celebrities perform choreographed dance routines which will be judged by renowned Ballroom judge Len Goodman and dancer/choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba.

Ok soapers, are you excited about Kelly Monaco getting a well-deserved slot? Now, its up to all of us to keep voting her in the competition!  What do you think about Kelly’s competition and how they might stack up against her?  Let us know!

i think it is great , but I also think that JR Martinez should be among them!

I will start watching dwts just to see kelly

Should have only been runner’s up! Where’s Mario Lopez.

Eye Candy…. and Major Woof!

Joey Fatone
Drew Lachey
Emmitt Smith

Kelly Monaco… 1st season winner… GH STAR!

i’m still waiting… for Sam and her son to reuinte…patiently i wait. you know… as a new 2years running… every day, viewer, Sam has grown on me. as for your love life… the writings still on the wall… be it.. Jason, or McBain. i’d be happy for you… however, for me, it’s that baby… your son… that means more to me.

Bristol Palin? Seriously?? Hope she gets voted off first!!!

Uh…. Hello…… Still boycotting abc – this show included……

Kelly will be great, and we will watch just to see her. She is one half the reason we
watch and like GH…….Her work with Steve Burton make them the most root for couple ever on a soap. Great skill and chemistry………Go Kelly! Never watched
DWTS before, but we will now!

So glad to see Giles Marini. He is an actor, but proofed to be an excellent actor.

I’m glad to see Kelly was asked to be a part of All Stars. I’m also thrilled to see Drew Lachey, who is one of my favorite winners of DWTS will also be competing. I’m rooting for both of them.

I’m very excited to see Kelly dance again!! I voted for her the first time and I’ll be voting for her this time!!!

I didn’t watch last time & I won’t watch this time. I love DWS & would watch if it was on any channel but ABC. I have BOYCOTTED ABC except GH for almost a year & will continue until I see OLTL back on somewhere. ABC sold 2 shows so why can’t they sell the rights to our soaps. Cause they don’t want anyone to make money with them & prove ABC to be the idiots they are. MY opinion! ABC needs to think about their viewers or maybe they really don’t care. Bring back OLTL & viewers will come back.

Its all part of ABC/D’s evil plan to lure soap fans back in. But it will back fire once she goes I will stop watching! Bring back #OLTL/#AMC!

So many mixed emotions! LOVED the very first season and was so happy Kelly won. (Boy was O’Hurley a poor loser) Too bad no JR – maybe he has other obligations (a new baby for instance!). Will be rooting for Kelly all the way!

Wow I’m truly disappointed with the casting. I wont say anymore because I’m sure a lot of people will be offended.

More of the Story on ‘General Hospital’ Star Josh Kelly’s Latest Film Role in ‘The Workout’

We had previously shared that General Hospital’s Josh Kelly was taking three weeks away from his role of Cody Bell to a shoot a role in an upcoming movie entitled The Workout.

Josh originally revealed his role in the film during an episode of GH castmates, Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradford Anderson’s (Spinelli) podcast.

Now Deadline has filled in some of the blanks, and shared some intriguing intel on the premise of the film and its back-story.  The film stars Kelly along with Peter Jae, and UFC Fighter, Ashlee Evans-Smith. Other cast members include The Bay’s Kristos Andrews.

In The Workout, two army rangers set out to create a workout video, but their plans are abruptly halted when a mob hit interrupts their filming. Tragically, one of the rangers loses his wife in the attack, sending him on a relentless mission to take down the mob and anyone who stands in his way.

The film from James Cullen Bressack, almost did not get financed.  Apparently, ten days before his birthday, Bressack made a post on Instagram about the feature and production, casting, and financing came from the post … illustrating the power of social media. After the post gained traction, a producer provided financing and actors expressed interest in joining the project, leading to a quick production.

In a statement, Bressack shared, “As artists a painter paints, a musician makes music, a writer writes, but as filmmakers we have to ask permission to create. It’s time to change that narrative. This film spawned from a necessity to create. We create. We tell stories. We play pretend. I’m excited to take this journey. This is the truest form of collaboration and a community of friends coming together to make something fun. While our industry has had a rough time recently with strikes and a possible strike looming in the future, it’s nice to remind ourselves why we got into film to begin with. To have fun telling stories.”

No word yet on when The Workout will be released.

So, looking forward to seeing this collaborative effort featuring GH’s Josh Kelly? Comment below.
