Heather Locklear Sent To Hospital For Psych Evaluation After Threatening To Harm Herself
Former Dynasty and Melrose Place star, Heather Locklear is back in the news Monday morning with another troubling report from TMZ.com.
Reportedly, Locklear was hospitalized in Thousand Oaks, California on Sunday. Her mother called 911 claiming the actress was threatening to kill herself, and acting erratically.
In the dispatch audio call that was made public by TMZ, it seemed that her mother claimed that Locklear was “agitated and violent.” She also added that Heather was, “trying to hurt herself and looking for a gun to shoot herself, even though she does not have access to any weapons.”
Both the Ventura Country Fire and Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to Locklear’s home.
A source close to Heather reportedly said that the actress was agitated during the day, so her parents went over to her home to check on her. According to the report, that’s when Locklear got violent, choking her mother and hitting her father.
Locklear was arrested months ago on a felony charge for domestic violence and three counts of misdemeanor battery on a police officer following a domestic dispute with her boyfriend. The domestic abuse charges were dropped in March. Locklear was in rehab in April, while her attorneys pleaded not guilty to battery on her behalf.
Back in 2008, there was a report that Locklear was also suicidal. The Melrose Place and Dynasty star has had a history of substance abuse.
So, what do you think of the latest troubles for Heather? Comment below.
Very sad. I seems to be the older actors are in the news for this type of problem lately (Windsor Harmon). I hope she gets the help she needs.
What’s to think? Heather needs to figure out how to maintain sobriety from whatever substance(s) she takes. Getting sober is easy, staying sober will stop all of this nonsense. I hope she finds the courage to do so.
Figured she had lost her mind a couple years back when she was shilling for the Orange Imbecile. What a damned shame…. Heather was a great poster girl for sin back in the day. All of us down here in Hell appreciated her past efforts.
i love the color orange…isnt that the color in Hell!!!-lol
Nah, Hell is red! Though the yellow sulfur in the air might make it appear orange in a few locations.
With the number of suicides lately, I hope she gets the help she needs.
Self worth has to be based on more important things than looks, in both cases looks are fading as is self esteem.
I’ve always been a fan of Heather Locklear’s and I hope that she finds the help that she needs. Depression, substance abuse, mental illness, are all very serious issues and cannot just be swept under the rug. She has a beautiful daughter who must be absolutely heartbroken for her mother. From articles that I have read, it sounds as though Heather has not been surrounding herself with the healthiest individuals. I just don’t understand it.
I thought about her daughter also.
@dmr…I always liked Heather, too…Despite her early rise to fame, she seemed to have a mind of her own and an independent spirit instead of simply parroting the same old, same old cliche’ tripe, which is such a rare thing in Hollywood!!! So refreshing! That probably didn’t help her career, especially in later years, but still what a sad state to which she has now sunk….when it gets to the point that one is even attacking their own parents, then help is indeed needed ASAP. Like you, I never really got her odd taste in men, save for Jack Wagner, who, by the way, just sent his love and prayers to her, which I thought was a truly decent, gentlemanly gesture given their stormy history. Hope she can finally find some inner peace and work her way out of the monumental mess her life has become.
It’s so sad, and she was just arrested, again, after she was released from the required medical “hold.” I have always been such a fan of hers. I always thought that she was beautiful and talented-still do. Hollywood/Los Angeles must really play with people’s minds. I often think, why not up and leave after making it big, and live a nice, secluded life somewhere and enjoy your wealth? I know it’s easier said than done, and coming from someone who hasn’t experienced the Hollywood lifestyle/microscope. I know that I would not be able to live under that scrutiny. As a fan of Heather’s, I hope that she gets the help that she needs. It’s so sad-most of all for her daughter and family.
Yes, I just read the same, dmr….very tragic! This Is so much more than simple substance abuse gone to the extreme…to continually attack loved ones indicates a serious, underlying psychoses that drugs and alcohol only further fuel…I really do pray that Heather will finally get some much needed, comprehensive medical attention for not just her addictive behaviors, but her control issues, as well, because it seems as though time is running out for her to get it together. Either she or someone else will be bodily harmed if this keeps up….perhaps irreparably. Once that happens, may she find the strength to abandon Hollywood and its dangers that have become life-threatening for her in hopes that she can lead a healthy, more balanced lifestyle.
I’m sure her being an aging starlet/sex symbol has only aggravated whatever else she deals with mentally. It’s hard to see yourself fade from the limelight. Sorry for her.
This is really sad. Attacked her parents that were trying to help her, after she’s already been arrested for domestic violence. I hope she can get the help she needs.
I’ve noticed after she stopped getting work all of the substance abuse and violence started.
Heather VIOLENTLY going after her own parents is BEYOND SICKENING!!!!!
Believe me I know what depression feels like so I do hope she gets the help she needs .This illness is not easy to live with,
It’s excruciating. Unless someone experiences it, they do not understand the magnitude of it.
You are so right.I just lost my mom and my depression and anxieties have been just plan awful. I do take meds but it can be so hard, Sorry you have to deal with this,
Carol, sorry to hear about your mom, and that you are going through such a hard time. I have dealt with this my entire life. A few things that have helped me are exercise, music, and cooking-anything positive and healthy that I can do to keep my body and mind active. I always need to feel productive, and those activities have helped me immensely. Loss and grief can feel unbearable at times. Anxiety, like depression, is something most people do not understand unless they’ve experienced it. It’s not a feeling of being excited or nervous. It’s a constant state of agitation and worry that is so unsettling, and it “works” in-tandem with depression. It feels so unbearable. Best of luck to you.
Thank you so much .I agree most people who dont have depression and anxieties dont understand it ,but yet at the same time they dont have to be rude and make fun of us because we have a mental illness either.I also have get his bipolar and a mood disorder to which sometimes makes me yell and believe me I have gotten into trouble where I live plenty of times because of my yelling,I keep telling them it is part of my illness they just say I need to learn now to control it,I have tried it isnt easy to control it my doctor just put me on meds new ones I hope they work.Feel free to talk to me anytime .This is awful illness,Oh for me I do sit outside sometimes it helps I do a lot of knitting and crocheting I make things for Xmas I give them to churches and now I am making stuff for cancer patients this year,Doesnt make you feel good when you can do something nice for other people?
It’s wonderful that you have found hobbies that have helped you, and that you are helping others. I think that is GREAT!
ive struggled with depression since my childhood…
Me too, and it comes back in waves. It’s a very difficult issue to understand, and to have to deal with-the pain and suffering that comes with it. My best to you, Jimh.
Sorry you have this rotten illness to.I know with me my moods go up and down because with it I also am bipolar and have a mood disorder.I just wish we could all catch a break.I was on an anxiety forum what a joke they deleted my post all I was doing was asking for a little bit of compassion and support because of my moms passing they were very rude to that they said my comment was inappropriate that is bull I was there for over a year and a half I have never been abusive threatend or offensive to anyone I got so mad yes I had every right to they didn t like it so they banned me from the forum come on who in there right mind goes and deletes some ones comment about grieving about a family members death,I said nothing wrong, they delete everything I saw oh the woman who kicked me out she was suppose to be my friend some friend so she is no loner my friend I will tell you that, that is just plain rude what they did I was feeling depressed and they pulled this crap sorry I am so upset about this but then again if they are going to act this way then I dont need them I will not ever join a forum again to be honest people on there can be so rude I know,i only tried to help and I get kicked out sometimes it just doesnt pay to be niceIf yo want to talk to me you can.
I am so sorry to hear this, this illness just stinks. If you want to talk I will listen.
Thank you maybe they should change this into a depression forum.I know it stinks.People dont care how we feel I get tired of people making fun of people with mental illness it is cruel and rude.Let them try to live like this everyday and see how bad it can get.Same here If you want to talk I will be here to for you or anybody else
