Is Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong Coming To The Young and the Restless?
Looks like daytime dramas may have found its next celebrity superfan, or aspiring soap actor. The lead singer of the iconic rock/alternative band Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong, has posted three different times on his Instagram account – one a video and two photos – that indicate that he may be coming to Genoa City and The Young and the Restless, or perhaps, already taped a guest appearance … or is lobbying to do so?
A few days ago, Armstrong shared a clip from a scene featuring Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Summer (Hunter King) while watching it from a TV. As fans watch the clip, Armstrong’s voice plays over it saying: “I want to be on a soap opera so bad.”
Then, yesterday, Billie Joe has a pic of the iconic Y&R logo from the soundstages of the series at CBS Television City in Hollywood, and if you look even a bit further back on his IG, there is a photo remake with him in the classic DAYS’ Bill and Susan Seaforth Hayes (Doug and Julie Williams) cover of TIME Magazine!
Y&R’s Camryn Grimes (Mariah Copeland) responded to the video post and related to Armstrong: “This is my show. I am on it please come back and visit for the love of God *deep inhaling but not in a creepy way*.
So, could it be that Armstrong got one of his dream gigs as an actor on Y&R? Check out all his IG posts below. Then, weigh in via the comment section below.

Might be better than Tanner.
Right, Momo? Those airplane scenes? What drivel. Bring on Billie Joe Armstrong. Oh, and please dump nuChance and Theo and Amanda’s ex. NOW!
The airplane scenes are ridiculous.
Has Ripley left? I thought he would be gone longer. Not liking the actor playing Chance.
I meant “on” longer. 🙂
Would love to see a REAL musician on the show. Billie Joe is an amazing talent. Besides the brilliance of Green Day, he made that achingly beautiful Everly Brothers tribute album with Norah Jones, FOREVERLY. He’s got real sex appeal…beautiful eyes, great hair, and an intelligence and sensitivity one doesn’t always associate with rock stars. Stunt casting? WHO cares? It beats the roster of losers we’ve had lately. Theo, nuChance, Amanda’s men, Tanner, Tessa, Mariah’s new bartender friend…need I go on?
