In a delightful interview with General Hospital favorite Kimberly McCullough (Robin), the actress-turned-director visited Good Day LA Monday morning.

During Kimberly’s segment, co-hosts Steve Edwards and Maria Sansone discussed her Pretty Little Liars directorial debut which airs Tuesday night at 8PMEST/PST on Freeform.  In addition, Steve and Maria asked Kimberly her thoughts on how Patrick (Jason Thompson) and Robin were recently written off of General Hospital.

Kimberly responded:  “I think this was good for the fans, because Robin and Patrick really deserved their happy ending, and they did literally ride off into the sunset arm and arm.  It felt like closure.  But I have to say, I’m really sad that I don’t get to see Brooklyn Rae Silzer (Emma) on my television set anymore, because I am a pyschofan and I watch the show.  But I am very sad I won’t be able to see my little girl, but I’ll see her in real life!”

As for her experience working with the cast of Pretty Little Liars, McCullough expressed:  “I just love all of the actors so much.  All of the ladies, and the gentlemen, were just so professional and so lovely to work with that I felt really lucky to be apart of that show.”  When asked what people that she knew thought when they found out that Kimberly wanted to be a director, she added: “I had many people roll their eyes at me, now I’m showing them!”

During the conversation, the co-hosts also talked openly about Kimberly’s recent blog post where she detailed moments from her difficult and heartbreaking 2015, which included her miscarriage after 22 weeks, and her brain tumor scare. But Maria mentioned that she admired that through the heartbreak conveyed in her writing that Kimberly also did it with humor.

She is such a doll! And speaking of dolls, I can see the seven year old in her as I watch the interview and think back to the Asian Quarter story where the black pearls were hidden in her doll as eyes. Crazy stuff! I wish her nothing but the best and hope she has a better 2016!

Congratulations to Kimberly. I remember that darling 7 year old. She has grown into an amazing woman. Onward and upward Kimberly.

I doubt I will watch as I have never seen the show and have no interest. I am happy for KM in her quest to be a director and wish her the best.

More of the Story on ‘General Hospital’ Star Josh Kelly’s Latest Film Role in ‘The Workout’

We had previously shared that General Hospital’s Josh Kelly was taking three weeks away from his role of Cody Bell to a shoot a role in an upcoming movie entitled The Workout.

Josh originally revealed his role in the film during an episode of GH castmates, Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradford Anderson’s (Spinelli) podcast.

Now Deadline has filled in some of the blanks, and shared some intriguing intel on the premise of the film and its back-story.  The film stars Kelly along with Peter Jae, and UFC Fighter, Ashlee Evans-Smith. Other cast members include The Bay’s Kristos Andrews.

In The Workout, two army rangers set out to create a workout video, but their plans are abruptly halted when a mob hit interrupts their filming. Tragically, one of the rangers loses his wife in the attack, sending him on a relentless mission to take down the mob and anyone who stands in his way.

The film from James Cullen Bressack, almost did not get financed.  Apparently, ten days before his birthday, Bressack made a post on Instagram about the feature and production, casting, and financing came from the post … illustrating the power of social media. After the post gained traction, a producer provided financing and actors expressed interest in joining the project, leading to a quick production.

In a statement, Bressack shared, “As artists a painter paints, a musician makes music, a writer writes, but as filmmakers we have to ask permission to create. It’s time to change that narrative. This film spawned from a necessity to create. We create. We tell stories. We play pretend. I’m excited to take this journey. This is the truest form of collaboration and a community of friends coming together to make something fun. While our industry has had a rough time recently with strikes and a possible strike looming in the future, it’s nice to remind ourselves why we got into film to begin with. To have fun telling stories.”

No word yet on when The Workout will be released.

So, looking forward to seeing this collaborative effort featuring GH’s Josh Kelly? Comment below.
