Nathan Parsons leaving General Hospital!

Courtesy/ABC

After all the speculation over the past few months of the status of Nathan Parsons (Ethan Lovett) status with General Hospital, it appears now that the actor is definitely leaving and out of Port Charles.  Of course, in Nathan’s case it was the case of too little too late, as just as the woman in white/Wyndemere story is beginning to unravel, Parsons is setting sail.

Julie Marie Berman ( Lulu, GH) during an online Twitter chat yesterday, “I am sad about Nathan, but he wasn’t used right. His talent was wasted.”

Parsons joined the show in 2009 as Luke and Holly’s  son that nobody knew even existed! So how do you feel about Parsons departure from the soap?

I agree with Berman here. This actor and character were never used well and that’s a shame. It could have really fostered some new attention to GH’s rich history, sibling rivalry and bonding, rethinking on choices made. I wonder if this exit may be the first of many to come as GH prepares for a new and potentially lifesaving chapter in its history as a daytime drama.

Here is to another offensive rewriting of history that led to absolutely nothing.

I enjoyed his scenes with Constance Towers and Jane Elliot but overall, no big deal to me.

So sorry to see you go, Nathan Parsons… I thoroughly enjoyed Ethan’s time in Port Charles. You were the ‘fun’ in the dysfunctional Spencer family!

Wish they would find a better storyline for Ethan…I will miss him….

Love, love Nathan, but have to agree, terrible story lines. I mean how many times did we all need to watch Cristina swooning over poor Ethan. He is too handsome and mysterious to be wasted on babysitting scenes. Would have loved to see a sex scene or too. he he!

He leaving on his own or was he given a pink slip?

come on nathan don’t go, this sucks!

I think this stinks !!
Nathan is an exemplary actor and was not used to full advantage.
Sad,sad,sad.
Someone will snap him up I’m sure.

I like Ethan and NP. But, I didn’t like that they made his Luke and Holly’s son. That would mean that Luke cheated on Laura. We all know that would never happen. I would have liked it better had he been Luke and Laura’s son. Maybe do a story where at first they had trouble conceiving and her eggs were frozen and he was the son from the frozen eggs.

I like that they made him Luke and Holly’s son. What I dont like was how they toyed with us introducing us as his son, playing like he was some young stud of Holly’s. I liked that he was Like and Holly’s son, bc it leveled the playing field of BOTH Luke and Laura having a son, outside of their relationship. BC, when they make Nickolos Laura’s son, I didn’ t like it, bc Laura would never cheat on Luke,, and WORST, she didn’t remember having him. I liked Lucky having two brother’s to go to., and I would of loved scenes with ALL the brother’s BC they are so different. Adventurous BUT safe, Lucky. Dark and Mysterious Nickolas, and Daring and Adventurous Ethan. There was so much material that could have been done with this, but with Lucky leaving too, ALL the brother’s will be off campus, but wining Lulu, including the nuclear of the family Laura. When in fact Genie Frances is a free agent on Young and the Reckless now. Horrible.
PS. And I hated the Christina scenes he had. I was like, OMG please dont let this result in a situation where she comes of age, and bc of it, he gets involved with her bc he was WORNED down. After all, Christina is no ugly duckling, she would be of age, AND most impt, (most often) a woman choses the man.

Laura didn’t cheat on Luke, she had Nikolas when she was away from Luke and trapped on an island belonging to the Cassadines. In contrast, Luke and Holly was about Luke making a conscious decision to cheat on his wife, while Laura was raped by Stavaros. Also, Holly was married to Robert and in a coma at the time that she supposedly met Luke.

As for Kristina, I think Lexi was wasted in some really asinine dialogue, having the same repetitive conversation with Ethan.

I’m sad about him leaving – but I wanted them to explore the relationship with Kristina – and when they blew that possibility, I lost interest – they’re disappointing me on a daily basis now, I’m beginning to feel like it’s just a matter of time. I didn’t want to believe that..but GH is looking more and more like the Titanic every week………..

And the mess they made with Venessa Marcil, even giving her a child, OMG, horrible. And she made her own mess too, not dressing up, not making up for the camera or the fans, and not wearing sexy. Venessa contributed to the mess., and that voice, and that LAUGH OMG…, like the Octamom.

AGREED

GH jumped the shark when the made Ethan Luke and Holly’s son. Ethan should have been a Scorpio: the son of Robert and Holly. During that time, Luke never would have cheated on Laura. These types of retcons are the reason why soaps are a dying genre. It’s sad.

Gee, you know what, that wpuld of made since, really that’s a GREAT idea. It would of given Robin a brother.

Such a shame..good actor & had great chemistry with Lexi

I agree Chris!

I wanted a sweet young romance between Ethan and Kristina but no, the former regime didn’t have the balls to try something different. I’m so god-damned sick of Sonny, Jason, Carly, Sam, Lulu and Dante.

Now Ethan is going to be paired with the cross-eyed mute who hasn’t spoken a word yet is in love with! Give me a f**king break, GH!

I’m officially done with GH — At this point I’m also down with Nathan Parsons if he would rather be involved in this ridiculous “gothic” romance than be paired with Lexi Ainsworth.

EPIC FAIL, GH!

He had awesome chemistry with Lexi and their friendship should have been written better and a possible romance should have been explored.

What a waste of time his character was. Had the writers had a brain he could’ve been extremely popular but they gave him the wrong father. If they would’ve stuck with the original plan of him being a Scorpio, the man’s ratings could’ve been off the charts. I hope a lesson was learned by TIIC.

It’s a shame that he is leaving. I was hoping for a new young romance like gh like they use to do 10 15 years ago. Right now , its all so old. I am so tired of Dante and Lulu and Maxie and Matt. GH needs a real love story and Nathan Parsons would have been a perfect person for that story line. There is just something sexy about him.

I like Nathan/Ethan. Once again GH messed up! It was too late. They didn’t give Nathan any good storylines. He is a talented actor & GH wasted him! Once again disappointed in GH! Nathan will be somebody else’s gain & GH’s loss!

Please don’t get rid of Nathan/Ethan too! The scenes when he and Luke first met were hilarious! They acted the same, drank the same, thought the same, etc. It was funny! I love the character Ethan, and I think Nathan is right on as an actor. He is cool. Please keep him on the show; just give him a story line! Since Tony Geary comes and goes, GH needs someone like “Luke” to keep the show alive! Nathan is an asset, and I liked him the minute I saw him on the show!

agree. He is a great Luke type. They need him.

I think that’s terrible…first Jonathan Jackson and now Nathan, whats up with GH..This soap is gonna go down hill real quick before they know it…damn shame!!

I just heard that Nathan is leaving GH. He was one of my favorite actors on the show along with Jonathan Jackson. Talent like Nathan’s is hard to find and this is slowly becoming the end of GH. Here comes more disgusting reality shows.

Don’t let the door hit ya where the dear lord split ya.

I hope GH continues to lose more viewers. Nobody wants the bullsh!t you are forcing down their throats.

Thank god Cassuckya isn’t petite or there would have been an uproar over the kiss (disgusting) with Ethan.

Noooooooooooooooo………..

Sigh…Rats!!

i wish they would keep Nathan Parsons. i love him, it goes Johnathan Jackson then Nathan Parsons and then Steve Burton. WHY do you always take the good people off. you need to get rid of Michael i don’t like him since he grew up

He’s gorgeous and talented. GH F—– up once again. He should have been Holly and Robert’s son from the beginning. No, the powers that be decided to let Tony Geary have his way, once again, at the expense of the show and the viwing audience.

I love Nathan/Ethan but I agree they didn’t give him any good storylines. I was really interested in Ethan/Kristina and when that was done with his character became even more useless. It would be better if they just give him some good stories. The writing on GH has become atrocious and it’s really hard to watch. I keep watching hoping it gets better but that doesn’t seem to be happening.
I also agree it would have been so much better if he was a Scorpio…

Too bad, he was just getting interesting!

I’m sad about his leaving. I was always hoping he and Kristina would eventually get together.I also loved the scenes between Ethan and his siblings and Luke. I wanted him and LuLu to make something col out of the Haunted Star too.

I am very sad that Nathan Parsons is leaving the show. I loved him as Ethan and thought he had a great senso of humor and added so much to GH! I will miss him and hope he lands on his feet in another show or series, He is a talented man who deserves a great show that will appreciate his terrific talent and acting abilitites.

Huge Mistake!! He is one of my very favorite characters on GH

One of the best they ever had. So stupid they never utilized him correctly. Wish he could stay and others leave!

Ethan is one of the newer additions/characters to GH that the majority of the fans actually LIKE. What lttle material he was given, he always did a fine job with it. I think the writers could of explored and played the jealousy card with the brother’: Ethan, Lucky and Nickolas with Lucky being teh pawn. The writer’s could of then gave them a storyline together that would of brought them together, making Nickolas and Ethan accept one another and be ” brother like ” to each other. That would of been nice. I will miss Ethan. The whole Spencer clan is gone, Lucky, Nickolas (by measure of Laura) and Laura herself. Then Luck takes off every Summer. No wonder they had to marry Lulu-the poor YOUNG woman would be in crazy Port Charles, all by herself w/ no foundation of family.

I will miss Ethan. Hope for his return one day. I also hoped that he was a Scorpio, otherwise, this story was a complete waste!

I really like Nathan Parsons, and the character Ethan had so much potential. I’m sad to see him go, but I understand why Nathan would want to move on.

Ethan was the first character in a VERY long time to really bring some excitement. He was the guy you rooted for. So handsome and an unforgettable smile. I really hope he finds a better role somewhere. He just has “it”. Hope he is a big star one day.

Please bring this talented actor back.

Please bring Nathan back to General Hospital, he is such a talented actor.

I love Nathan Parsons as Ethan Lovett, he is, and always will be my favorite character, along with , his portrayer, Ever since I heard about his depart from the show I always wonder if he was going to come back,,,I hope he does Please for what ever reason that he left, please bring him back, not just temporally but permently, if not that, keep him as a person that comes in once in a while but please viewers like him, I know I LOVE him, I even have all his pictures for the soap in depth books, please BRING HIM BACK,, PLEASE HAVE A HEART & BRING HIM BACK TO STAY,,,don’t have Nathan Parsons’s character be like Maya.PLEASE BRING BACK NATHAN PARSON AND HIS CHARACTER ETHAN LOVETT….
