Grab the hankies as Days of our Lives pays tribute to the late Peggy McCay and her beloved character of Caroline Brady next week on the long-running NBC daytime drama series.

As viewers know, McCay passe away over six months ago in October of 2018, and now fans will see how the show will deal with the loss of the matriarch of the Brady clan.  Back for special episodes include Christie Clark (Carrie) who came back to Los Angeles to film the memorial from her home in England, while Alison Sweeney (Sami) also makes another emotional return to the series, as does Brandon Beemer (Shawn-Douglas).

Look for Caroline’s family and dearest friends to all come together at the Brady Pub via an Irish-Catholic wake,

As previewed in this week’s Soap Opera Digest, Sweeney related on coming back for this special moment in DAYS history to honor McCay:  “I think the script was written so beautifully with everyone having a chance to honor her and say nice things about Caroline that reminded us all of the things about Peggy, things we had done with her, or moments we had with her.”

Check out the latest promo featuring the death of Caroline below, then let us know, if you will be watching this emotional episode featuring many Days of our Lives favorites in the comment section, and if you will miss Caroline Brady on-screen, and what she meant to the Brady’s and the town of Salem.

Sometimes it is confusing why some characters are at a funeral, while other aren’t. With Caroline’s funeral, I hope Hope is there. She was her mother-in-law for years. It seemed she had a great connection to Julie and Maggie too. I wish Theresa and Kimberly could have come back too.

Patsy Pease had surgery and was unavailable. Yes, it’s a shame she can’t be there.

I hope Patsy is feeling better

Also her adopted son Max, played by B&Bs Darin Brooks. they were very close during his time on the show. He should have been allowed to come back for the memorial. I do hope Hope, Maggie and Victor are there even though they aren’t in the photo above.

I am sure this show will be very poignant and sad. I loved Caroline and the way she interacted with the other characters. I also loved Peggy McCay, the great actress that made Caroline come to life. I remember her movies from way back, she was so beautiful, and it was certainly to our advantage to have this bright star on Days. Her hair and the way she was so beautifully made up and dressed put a lot of the other women to shame, with their crazy clothes, blue hair, etc. R.I.P Ms.McCay, you will never be forgotten.

c

This is a nice thing that Days is doing. She is missed.God bless Peggy and her family,Days as well.

Soaps lack a good patriarch and matriarch with a moral compass…actually all of tv lacks a moral compass with so much gloom and doom,,,bathroom humor and lame sex jokes being the norm…tv has gone down the toilet-i keep flushing but all that crap comes back up!!!…i rarely watch anymore!!!

I agree with you 100% Jimh…people might laugh but I miss the days of The Walton’s and Little House on the Prairie.

I still watch those…

I’m glad Sami and Carrie could come back. It will be sad. Hopefully lots of memories and flashbacks.

This is why I continue to watch, respect, revere, this art form we know a soap opera. Like life, sometimes you can’t be there to pay respects – due to surgery, logistics, work, or because you already said your goodbyes. These shows when done property, honestly and with heart & love…bring us together. Like a comfortable hug makes me forget for o moment & feel and remember when…reflect on growing up & takes me back instantly. Not a daily viewer of the 4 currently shows, happen to be on sabbatical & will tune in absolutely. Arcs like this are the best, especially when actors come back, like family, and cross our paths in life again. Days…make us laugh, make us cry, make us care! No fan like a soap fan. Smiles.

^^^^ GOD

Christie Clark is not only beautiful, but a STANDOUT … whose grown up adult maturity would be so refreshing… that Horton/Brady beacon of having that one – heroine – to carry the torch.

can you imagine Carrie running in to Rafe with Danny !!!!! ????? how the love at first sight LIGHTS UP ALL OUR WORLD?

I have been agonizing for Lani… just LOVING < this story. Galen Gerring gets to act on his OWN. he is not being propped or needs to prop. this is HIS OWN STUFF. and he's magnet

this is savor

whet ALL our engine

OH GOD the material potential is all lying in wait. @Ron Carlivati get it NOW. HUGE windfall; payout; DREAM comes ALIVE

Christie Clark NEEDS TO BE

I got to watch about a half hour of the show ,as usual NBC had to interrupt my show.I cried when I saw this.I lost my mom last June she was 91 but I know the feeling of losing someone you really love.Peggy was class act.Nice job by Days.

an outstanding episode with the highlight being victor and hope allison sweeney rules and can visit anytime for a long time viewer the episode was gold
