OLTL's Florencia Lozano named "Power Performance of the Week"!

Courtesy/ABC

We have to say that On-Air On-Soaps has had a very difficult time all week long shaking the image of quite frankly, perhaps daytime’s finest actor, Trevor St. John, lying in a pool of blood, after his character of Victor Jr. has been shot on compelling and dark episodes of One Life to Live.  And even though we knew it was coming, and could tell by the set-up that many in the town of Llanview wanted the guy dead, we all watched Victor Jr.’s final breath! And as for St. John, even is his death scenes, without uttering as much as two words, he was breaking our hearts!

However that being said, who was not blown away once again by that spitfire of an actress, Florencia Lozano (Tea)?  When Tea found her husband shot to death, bleeding with a bullet wound to the chest, it ushered in yet another tour de force performance!  And that is why On-Air On-Soaps is naming Florencia Lozano this week’s Power Performance of the Week. Think about her scenes: Tea tries to save her husband’s life, calls for the Paramedics, and tries to stop the vast bleeding as Victor Jr. is now bleeding out all over the floor! But what made Lozano all the more sensational was how she handled the dialog trying to implore Victor Jr. to stay with her, and to not die on her!  The love and the bond between these two characters was right there for all of us to see … up till the very end. But now, Victor Jr. was gone. And as a woman stricken with grief and in shock over what she just encountered, seeing her beloved husband dead and then put into a body bag, it was just too much for Tea to witness! Lozano delivered in spades!

And although, we can’t fathom One Life without Trevor St. John, it gives way to a huge umbrella story that will probably play out for months to come.  We know many are hoping that Trevor will be back when the show moves online, and you just never know these days… does one?  For now, we just wanted to give kudos to Lozano for giving us a heart-stopping and gut-wrenching performance, as only she can, in one of the most controversial plots in Llanview’s history.

In a time where daytime is getting a raw deal, this week also saw tremendous performances by many others including: All My Children’s, Darnell Williams and Debbi Morgan as Angie learned the truth about her baby girl, and Jesse’s part in the cover-up.  This and many other daytime performances continue to illustrate that you can’t tell us, that some of the finest acting does not go on in the soap genre!

For now, you can watch Lozano in action in the Power Performance of the Week by clicking here and here!

Florencia was wonderful ! and I was bawling ,all could hear was Georges song HE STOPPED LOVING HER TODAY,AND I CAN FATHOM OLTL WITHOUT THEM .THEY ARE THE MOST AMAZING COUPLE ON DAYTIME, HE BETTER COME BACK HE IS NEEDED ! DO YOU HEAR THAT PP AND TREVOR . HAPPY BIRTHDAY TREVOR

I CAN NOT FATHOM NOT FATHOM OLTL WITHOUT THEM

It’s enormous error on “One Life to Live’s” part not to let Trevor St. John return before the show departs network television. His rivalry story with Roger Howarth has so much potential to be soap opera gold and now it has deteriorated into yet another lame and tired whodunit arc. But at least we’re guaranteed some great performances from folks like Florencia Lozano, who’s beyond excellent, and Kassie DePaiva for the duration of the show’s run on ABC.

Truly an awesome performance by both Florenzia and Trevor! They are so great together and I wait for those scenes… but no more. My favorite on OLtL s gone. They could have done so much great drama with the two Todds and their family. Great pick Michael! I have to say though that Bradford Anderson’s performance in Steve Burton’s hospital room was jaw droppingly good stuff. He is really talented and is playing whatever it is he is going through brilliantly. Tears came to my eyes because of his pain and confusion. Trevor will be missed terribly but there are great actors there to take up the slack.

Fantasitc choice… Florencia Lozano was phenomenal… I honestly thought her preformance was emmy worthy, as well as Kelly Missal who has to be mentioned as well! It is true that daytime is gettign a raw deal but there is no denying this woman’s talent as well as TSJ’s… soap actors really are amazing & the scenes of Todd/Victor’s death & the aftermath certainly proved that. Again, great, great choice!

Let’s start hoping that the cast of OLTL gives her the pre-nom this year instead of throwing away the show’s chances of getting an Emmy. Florencia has been the reason to watch OLTL since her return. She is so captivating and believable. She makes all of Tea’s bad decisions seem plausible and makes us sympathetic to all of her characters bad actions. So far the show needs to push for
Roger Howarth — lead actor and Trevor St John
Florencia Lozano — lead actress and Erika Slezak (all VIki episode/ Charlie caught in the act episode)
JP Lavoisier — supporting actor (roof scenes, school scenes)
Farah Fath — supporting actress (roof scenes), Bree Williamson (the wedding aftermath/fight with Natalie)
Austin Williams — younger actor (roof scenes)
Kristen Alderson — Roger Howarth scenes where she quizzes him
writing — rooftop scenes from bullying story
directing — Viki’s 40th anniversary alters episode
Show — episode where Todd, TM, and VIki learn the truth….Victor Jr plans on taking family to Hawaii.

OLTL Pre Noms Possibles with Tapes

Lead Actor 5 Possiblities

Trevor Saint John (Victor Admitss to his family he not Todd.)
Roger Howarth (Talk with Blair about the time he lost, wanting reveage)
Robert S Wood (Bo confronts Clint in the Buchann Barn)
Jerry Ver Dorgan (Clint Tv Confession or Begging Rex for Gigi Heart)
Michael Emerson (Nat tells John Liam is not his)

Lead Actress

Florenica Lozano (Tea confronts Tomas after he returns, Tea tells Victor she still loves him, Tea and Dani deal with Victor killing.)

Younger Actor

Series (Fallout of Double wedding (Jess confronts Nat), Shawn on the roof, Vikerman Premire/Todd reveals himself, Victor is shot, Viki 40th, clint heartattack/Nikki comes out, People Realize Gigi is a match for Clint)

I think Shenell Edmonds/Destiny needs to be thrown in the Younger Actress Category too. Although I think her material with her finding out about her true parentage is a little old, since it was at the end of 2010….but the whole family was phenomenal. Also, Melissa Archer/Natalie should be nominated for all of her material dealing with both Marty and Jessica. I definitely think Buddy/Cole should have won something by now. Hell, the whole cast is so damn talented it’s hard not to choose from the long list.

This is the reason why I have turned away from the Daytime Emmy’s because so many actors that should at Least be nominated, aren’t. And the same people…same shows win every year. No one can convince me that B&B has deserved to win two or three years in a row. OLTL should be stomping out all the competition. Writing, Directing, Acting, Show…..OLTL should be top dog at the next award show. Let’s just sit back and see if it happens.

To be honest OLTL shoots it stuff in the foot with want they usally summit. Last year it was not the screwing up series with the Musical but Eddie Alderson, Kassie, ect summited bad (why would Eddie or the Show summited a comecial episode opposite Tuc for him is just dumbfounding)…..

I totally agree. She was magnificent!

I agree that Florencia was put on a tour de force on Tuesday trying to save Victor’s life (Trevor). She has never done better; the love, angst, and sadness was all there on display. I cried like a baby when she begged him to stay and don’t leave and how he kept opening his eyes for her and the final I love you from Victor to Tea was gut wrenching. One life to live is hands down the best soap on tv now and I also hope and pray they get Trevor back and keep Florencia for the Online editon. God knows she did a absolutely wonderful job this week! I think its time for another interview with Florencia don’t you Micheal ?

Even though I knew this day was coming, I was still in shock by the events……and then the performances by Florencia and Trevor, not to mention Daniella. I was just in tears. The OLTL cast is just so damn awesome!!! This show could easily survive in prime time. OLTL outshines so many others…..and I still can’t believe that ABC was stupid enough to give it the axe. This week was rough to watch, but I must say, I can’t wait to see what happens next, and I’m sure we have more stellar performances ahead.

I do love this man! We shall miss you always the hunk of daytime!

They both were fab. Florencia is great with every co-star. Trevor if you read this know you will be soooo missed. There was so much more story to tell. I have not enjoyed OLTL as much as those great scenes in a long time.

Oh I forgot to say Happy Birthday Trevor St John, so its happy Belated now.

OLTL has such a talented cast. They should sweep in all categories at next years emmys, especially Best Daytime Drama EVER!

Just wanted to stop by and thank Michael for acknowledging the phenomenal work done between Florencia and Trevor. Florencia was brilliant and Trevor was equally brilliant in acting without being given a single line. Per usual, these two have put on an acting clinic and I knew I could count on Michael to tell it!

It is a bit bittersweet for me. I don’t like how everything went down. I can not for the life of me understand why OLTL would willingly choose to let one of the THE best actors and pairings in daytime go, but they have. Regardless, I will always remember the gift these two actors have given me as a fan for these past three years. It doesn’t get any better than Flor/Trevor and Tea/Todd (Victor)

We Love Miss Florencia, Mr. Trevor, & OLTL In NW Illinois! 🙂

FL blew out the speakers on my flat screen, I think. I don’t get your pick this week at all.

What do you mean? Because she screamed? You don’t think that was scripted, blocked, and directed?

I think FL is a scenery-chewer, always. The show let’s her go. What is this? FL’s fan page?

::rolls eyes::

Really? I asked why you said she blew out your speakers and what you meant by “scenery-chewer,” because it is so subjective and means something different to each individual. I know I’m wasting my time, but I was interested in discussion and to understand your perspective. I guess that was my mistake.

Wow. I was asking to clarify.
What does that mean, anyway?
Oh, there should be no apostrophe in your usage of “lets.”

So it is the FL defense league, complete with typo correctors.

Wow. Ha!

Are you 12? Seriously, I offered my opinion and you took it very personallyand jumped on spelling. I don’t get it. To clarify further- I think FL must be a good stage actress, and she’s mentoring young Kelley in similar emoting.

No, actually. I asked a question, then you started making accusations. I really was curious about your opinion, and you attacked me.

It what possible way did I attack you?

In no way.

She was amazing in those scenes, truly blew me away. Very realistic and upsetting to see. I think the girl who plays her daughter Dani did amazing in her scenes when she found out he was dead, when she was in denial about it. I always thought she was so-so, but she did amazing work that day also! Give that girl more scenes like that!
But I am glad FL was named Performer of the Week. I actually wondered if the media would name her that for those scenes, nice to see they have!!!

Excellent choice for power performers. TSJ has carried this show for the past eight years with his powerful perfomances and then throw FL into the mix and they are Simply The Best of Daytime TV for me. Their scenes are what Supercouples are made of, epecially 8/22 & 8/31. Congratualtions to both FL & TSJ.

Really do not care about the umbrella stories that Victor’s death unleashed because when Victor was gunned down then the most fascinating character and the most captivating supercouple was gunned down in the process and that is sad and mind boggling.

Thank you for recognizing this Golden Duo because I will forever remember, thank and cherish the three years of Must See TV provided by the incomparable Trevor St John & Florencia Lozano.

Anne

Today Tea used that great “non-rapist” Victor’s sexual prowess to try to make Todd jealous.
So romantic.

Ms. Margie,

That is your opinion and I respect that and I also respect the fact that you are talking about this. You know the ole saying, if someone is talking about something, then the one who is being talked about must be doing something right and people are noticing them, whether good, bad, or indifferent.

So, please keep talking and since you keep talking about Tea/non-rapist (FL & TSJ) then they are doing something right and that is why they are the Best in Daytime TV and this week power performer(s). Again, my opinion is that this was an excellent choice because TSJ&FL are Simply The Best on Daytime TV.

Take care
Anne

Thank you Ms. Anne. Yes, everything I write IS my opinion.
And no, not everything talked about means that something right is going on. If we mention Mr. Frons does that mean he’s doing something right? No, it doesn’t.

Ms. Margie,

Touche. We were talking about this week’s power performer(s) and not Mr. Frons. Mr. Frons is an imbecile and I refuse to give inane individuals my oxygen. However, to answer your question, I have and am doing just that.

Mr. Frons needs publicity to make his replacement shows work, whether it be good, bad, or indifferent and I will not give it to him. He is an idiot who realize that he is on borrowed time at the network and if these shows failed, then he fail and his karma is going to be a B. This is my opinion and I sign off with it.

Take Care and Good Luck
Anne

Marcie, eeewww, you’re so lonely you need to denigrate a phemomenal actress? Scenery chewing, really? Learn a thing or two…maybe if you knew what you were talking about instead of making yourself feel important to strangers on soap sites.by dropping mentions of your flatscreen we’d take you more seriously. Is the flat screen paid for?

Jessica, seriously that was a ridiculous slam.
Mentioning a flat screen tv is hardly boasting, and my life is quite full of people and fun things to do. Like you I like OLTL and talking about the show.
Michael, is this the kind of site you’re running that having a difference of opinion gets taken to this level?

Michael, you are so right about both Florencia Lozano and Trevor St. John. They have been providing incredible performances for years. What’s only more amazing is that neither has won an Emmy. I would rather watch them together than anything on primetime. If OLTL is to be made whole again, Lozano and St. John must be included.

Tea love victor but she’s in love with todd.
