Photo: JPI

He is multi-Daytime Emmy winning actor, who is synonymous with daytime drama, and now he is about to achieve another milestone in his career.  Of course, we are talking about The Young and the Restless’ Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott).

Bergman is set to celebrate his 30th anniversary with the top-rated soap when he was first introduced to viewers in the role back on November 27th, 1989.  In his honor, the series is delivering a special episode to air on Monday, November 25th.

In the episode, Jack takes a walk down memory lane as he reads his sister’s, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), family memoir, that details the triumphs and tragedies of the iconic Abbott family.  Also, viewers will be treated to classic clips and appearances from the Abbott family, including fan favorites Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott) and Maitland.

Bergman shares his sentiments in a statement:  “It’s been a real joy for me, to retrace Jack’s footsteps over the last 30 years. I am struck by the enduring friendships I have made at Y&R, and deeply grateful to our fans, who have stood by Jack, cheered him on, or waited patiently for him to get his act together…for three decades!  I’m happy, amazed and truly thankful…and it sure feels good. Thank you one and all.”

During his 40 years in daytime television, including 10 years as Dr. Cliff Warner on All My Children, Bergman has received 21 Emmy Award nominations for Lead Actor, and won three times.  In addition, Peter took home two Soap Opera Digest awards for Lead Actor, as well as three Soap Opera Update MVP Awards throughout his soap performances, making Peter the most decorated actor in Y&R history.

Bergman got emotional on today’s November 15th episode of The Talk sharing his love for his co-stars and the Abbott family.  Watch the clip below.

Now let us know, if you are excited to see the Jack Abbott episode coming up on Y&R via the comment section for Peter’s 30 years in Genoa City.

WHOA! 30 Years, doing the same thing..
Gotta tip a hat to Perter..
30 years WOW! near a lifetime.

Congrats Peter you have always shown class the one still positive thing Y&R has going for it!

I agree with you Kay. The Abbott’s always, in my opinion, bought class to Geona City. I am looking forward to his stand alone show. It will be nice to see the Abbott’s in their prime. Especially good old John. Thanks for listening and happy viewing

Congratulations! A well-deserved milestone in a wonderful career!

I remember Peter as Cliff on AMC. Cliff and Nina:)

Me, too, DMRR! (Remember Cliff and Nina’s gorgeous wedding?? That, and Bergman’s classic Vicks Formula 44 commercial, “I’m not a doctor, but I play one on tv”…Lol….) Hence for me, Peter will always be Dr. Cliff Warner, just as the late, great Terry Lester will always be the REAL Jack Abbott!!

YES, I remember!!!

Yes Shay Terry’s Jack version was fantastic we lost him because of Bill Bell deciding his daughter had to be in every storyline !

I loved Terry Lester. He was one of the two reasons I started watching the show. The other was all the wonderful cat fights Tracy and Lauren had first over Danny and than Brad. Ah the good old days

Congratulations to an amazing actor! I am a huge Peter Bergman fan – he is my favourite actor and Jack my favourite character on Y&R. I also happen to think he’s the best actor on the show.

‘Tracker’ and Y&R Alum Sofia Pernas Talks on Guest-Starring Opposite Her Husband, Justin Hartley

If you caught tonight’s March 24th episode of the hit freshman drama, Tracker starring Justin Hartley, you were introduced to a new character who shares a past with Colter Shaw and in real-life shares her life.

Sofia Pernas guest-starred as Billie Matalon, who is also in the bounty hunter business and quite self-assured on her own right, but clearly has a connection to Colter. In the episode entitled “Lexington”, Colter reluctantly teams up with his nemesis to track down a missing racehorse.

As daytime soap fans know, Sofia played Marisa on The Young and the Restless from 2015-2017 while Justin played Adam Newman 2014-2016. Now years later, they appear together on the hit CBS primetime series.

Pernas spoke to PEOPLE about how she tackled the role of Billie, expressing, “For me, I played it like (Billie) wanted to see him (Colter) on this job. Every time she goes on one of these jobs, she’s like, ‘Is Colter going to be here?’”

So, how did Sofia feel about working opposite Justin as his newest alter-ego Colter Shaw? She revealed, “He’s so different in this role that it was very disarming at first because I was like, ‘Oh my God, you are a completely different person right now.'” Sofia added, “I think for Justin, and I think it is just so cool seeing him really, really settle into this guy’s skin.”

When she wondered just what the connection on-screen would look like between the two real-life marrieds, Pernas shared, “It was like riding a bike and so different at the same time because of how different he is, which honestly made my job a lot easier.” The actress also related, “It’s a lot easier to play chemistry when you feel like you don’t know the person.”

Just when will Tracker fans get to see Billie again? According to Pernas, they will have to wait for season two: “There’s too much stuff Colter has to address before we go into the Billie of it all, I think.”

So, did you catch Sofia and Justin together on ‘Tracker’? If so, would you be down for a Billie and Colter romance? Comment below.

The Young and the Restless’ Michael Damian On Christine/Danny/Phyllis: “It’s a Fun Triangle Story That They’re Having Us Do, Because It’s Very Retro”

This week on The Young and the Restless, while Danny (Michael Damian) and Christine (Lauralee Bell) hit the sheets, and Phyllis (Michele Stafford) sets off an alarm as payback (literally!), the top-rated CBS soap opera continues to weave the tale of these three characters decades later, finding themselves in very familiar territory with each other.

We know that Christine and Phyllis are basically, mortal enemies, while Danny, who has been the man in the middle, has had a past with both women. However, it is Christine who has been, for all intent and purposes the love of his life.  But, will Phyllis’ machinations make it near to impossible for Danny and Christine to be together? Stay tuned.

Last week, Michael and his real-life wife, Janeen Damian visited the Michael Fairman Channel promoting their #1 streaming film on Netflix, Irish Wish starring Lindsay Lohan. The film was produced by the Damians, while Janeen directed it and co-wrote the romantic story. Michael is featured on the Irish Wish soundtrack performing his track, Wild Irish Heart.

During the conversation, Michael shared what it has been like revisiting the Christine/Danny/Phyllis triangle years later. Damian addressed the fans on the livestream, who inquired. “It’s a fun triangle story that they’re having us do, because it’s very retro. And I think it’s fun to bring that nostalgia, retro thing back.”

Recalling a tender moment between Danny on the piano alone with Christine (during the standalone episode which honored Lauralee Bell’s 40th anniversary with Y&R), Michael expressed, “I think what they’re doing is so smart, and they’re reconnecting a lot of the fans to a lot of the story. I mean, we’re talking years and years of story.”

Photo: JPI

The longtime Y&R fan favorite, added, “I’m really glad they did the thing on the piano because people have been asking, ‘Why are you not doing any music? Why are you not singing? Where’s your band?’ You know what I mean? Janeen is asking the same thing, ‘Why aren’t you singing something on the show?’ The last time I sang on the show was when we thought Phyllis was dead. So, you know, that didn’t count. (Laughs)

One of the funniest moment in the revisiting of the triangle occurred when Phyllis and Christine were arguing over Danny, and he was right there in the room with them. The two women got so engrossed in their fight, they forgot he was there, and thus he walked out of the room.

Michael revealed, he liked that scene too! “They’re fighting. They’re arguing and Danny’s like, ‘Listen, I’m over here. Please stop it.” And then they don’t stop,” Damian recalled. “And so Danny just grabs his coat, picks up his sheet music, because he was working on a song. He goes to the door. In the scene, I even look back to see if they are even noticing me leave, and then I just left. That one was pretty funny. I’ll be honest. I was laughing out in the hallway when I left. I was thinking, ‘Should I slam the door? But then if I slam the door, they still have dialogue.’ They’re still talking and they would’ve turned, and then it would’ve ruined it. So, I just gently closed the door and left.

During the livestream, Damian teased he has some upcoming scenes with longtime Y&R co-star Beth Maitland (Traci), “I just worked with Beth Maitland actually the other day, and that was really fun. I can’t wait for people to see that show.”

Now, let us know, are you rooting for Danny and Christine? Do you think Phyllis will continue to be a disruptor in this relationship and somehow worm her way back into Dannys good graces? The Young and the Restless Recasts the Role of Harrison Abbott

Genoa City’s Harrison Abbott will look different starting with the upcoming Friday, April 12th episode. Y&R has revealed that young actor Redding Munsell is taking over the role.

Prior to Redding, actor Kellen Enriquez had originated the role of Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) son since 2021. In story, viewers first learned that Kyle even had a son (and so did he!) when Tara Locke, and her husband, Ashland Locke arrived on the scene.

Later, Tara went to prison for embezzlement. After that, both Ashland and Kyle shared custody of the little boy until Locke died in 2022. Eventually, Summer became Harrison’s stepmom, but although ‘Skyle’ was on the outs and divorced, she did not waiver in her commitment to help raise the boy.

As for Redding, he has appeared in the film, Red, White, and Blue which was nominated this year for Best Live Action Short Film at the 96th Academy Awards. In addition, he is getting ready to star opposite Sylvia Hoeks in the upcoming feature, Hurricanna.

In fact, Redding will share screen time with two other daytime favorites in Hurricana, since both A Martinez (ex-Cruz, Santa Barbara et al) and Michal Nouri (ex-Steve, Search for Tomorrow, et al) are part of the cast.
