Wow they said Merry Christmas. The best part No Sabrina. I was happy to see each and every one of them. Same to you Merry Christmas and happy New Year. All the characters I actually like.

And….no one said they shouldn’t say Merry Christmas. Just nice to include both holidays in the holiday season.

Word Janet!

Amen to that sentiment, Janet! Only wish it were foreshadowing the future of GH….

Nice. Good to see Sean Kanan…hoping that means he’s “here” to stay.

LOL! That is exactly what I thought too… Long live AJ and Elizabeth!!!!

Fire sean kanan again, rehire billy warlock. sean your acting is painful too watch.

Yeah, been missing AJ and the other Quartermaines.

Although…now that I think of it they should have left it at Happy Holidays…or said Happy Hanukkah AND Merry Christmas. Funny, they have Sean, who’s Jewish…add the Christmas greeting at the end. Sigh. Okay…I’ll add it. Hope you had a Happy Hanukkah too!

Thank you for saying that Rebecca . By the way I didn’t know that Sean Kanan was Jewish. Interesting. And I also think that each soap should have at least one Jewish family or at least character. That said I enjoyed the good wishes. They should’ve done one last month around Thanksgiving to wish us everyone a happy Thanksgiving and for those who celebrate happy Hanukkah

Yes Lin…it’s funny how when issues of diversity come up it’s always about race but not religion. There are many soap actors who are Jewish…but don’t play Jewish characters. “Starr”/”Kiki” is half Jewish, Alexis is half Jewish, Sean is 100% Jewish, Brandon Barash aka Johnny is Jewish, etc…so Happy Belated Chanukah, Hanukkah…;)

I had no idea either, that Kiristen Alderson or Nancy Grahn were 1/2 or Brandon Barash was Jewish. Well, I guess they could make the excuse that Chanukah /Hanukkah/ Chanukkah etc was over. But they really should make an effort to wish a Happy Chanukah when it’s timely.
Belated Happy Chanukah to you!

So true, Rebecca1 and Lin. I made mention of this fact some posts ago when discussing the fact that the Latinos have been (quietly) represented on GH by Sonny’s presence all along, so I don’t know why there was such a clamoring about that issue and suddenly having to cater to that particular crowd. Furthermore, given that PC is located in New York, it beggars belief that there are no Jewish characters, particularly with a hospital setting to boot. As if there would not be at least a few doctors of the faith on staff? Give me a break! It all comes down to the fact that a lot of “groups” of people are not fairly or proportionately represented on this soap or many other shows. The difference is, many of them are far too dignified and classy to gripe about it and make demands to be seen and heard, unlike certain other more “pc” populations!!!! That being said, a very “Merry Christmas,” “Happy Hanukkah” and “Happy New Year” to all…. ; )

This is neat and cute and stuff. But how about trying to spread a bit of holiday and Christmas cheer on the show? Instead of sons butchering their mother and dumping her body in an open grave…instead of greasy mobsters threatening people…instead of law abiding officers contemplating murder….how about some Christmas cheer?

Wow some people will just look for anything to compalin about.

In great news to spread Christmas chair about GH was the press release ABC just released

As the citizens of Port Charles reel from learning Robin is alive and AJ’s murder trial continues, “General Hospital” ranked as the #1 program in Daytime for the first time in over 6 years in Women 25-54 (1.18 million/1.9 rating), and also ranked #1 in Women 18-34 (289,000/0.9 rating) and Women 18-49 (880,000/1.4 rating), marking the series’ first sweep across the key women demos in over six years – both since week of 7/16/07.

Moreover, this week stood as the series’ most-watched week in nearly six years in Total Viewers (3.31 million), in over two-and-a-half years in Women 18-49 and close to 3 years in Women 25-54 – since weeks of 1/21/08, 3/21/11 and 12/27/10, respectively.

Friday’s telecast surged to a near 6-year high in Total Viewers (3.45 million) and near 3 year high in Women 25-54 (1.24 million/2.0 rating) – since 1/21/08 and 2/21/11, respectively.

Further, “General Hospital” is pacing for its best season in 7 years in Total Viewers – since the 2006/07 season.

“General Hospital” posted the biggest year-to-year gains of any broadcast daytime drama in Total Viewers (+30% – 3.31 million vs. 2.54 million), Women 18-49 (+44% – 880,000 vs. 609,000) and Women 25-54 (+55% – 1.18 million vs. 760,000).

They were leaving a Christmas greeting. If they had wanted to leave a Hanukkah greeting they could have and would have. The day has been called Christmas since itcame into existence. What is the issue? I don’t celebrate Hanukkah or Quanzaa but I am all for people who so celebrate those days to do so. If you don’t wish to celebrate CHRISTMAS, you don’t have to. No one is forcing you to.

Thank you Johnny so much for that comment!

Did they leave a Hanukkah greeting a few weeks ago? That’s the point. There are many viewers…who celebrate different holidays. ALL should be acknowledged…if they only said Happy Hanukkah but never mentioned Christmas perhaps you’d think it odd…or be pissed. Whatever. The “day” is not here yet…you’re referring to Christmas. So, in that vein, since it’s the HOLIDAY season, all of the holidays should me mentioned…or none at all.

Don’t like that suggestion? Lemme think…tough shite.

“If they wanted to leave a Hanukkah greeting they would have.” And how would you feel if they had left a Hanukkah greeting a few weeks ago, Johnny, and that was it. If they had left a Hanukkah greeting and left no Christmas greeting now or at all this year. Think about how you would feel. I doubt very seriously, from your insensitive comment that you can.
Rebecca and I are not talking about Christmas here. We are not saying to call Christmas something else. I certainly think it’s charming that they are giving Christmas greetings. Chanukah is not on Christmas, by the way. We are saying it would have been nice for the actors, when it was timely , to have left a Chanukah greeting. And for that matter, when it is timely , to leave a Kwanzaa greeting. though Kwanzaa most people in America who celebrate Kwanzaa also celebrate Christmas, as Kwanzaa is not a religious holiday.

It is quite obvious you have no idea what it is like to be a minority. “I don’t celebrate Chanukah or Kwanzaa.” No kidding. that was quite obvious. You either are prejudiced against those who do, or could give a flip about anyone who is different than you.

Actually…before you judge someone without knowing them…I am a minority. But besides that…are you saying that these actors are now obligated to post messages for every ethnic and different holiday?? That is absurd. The majority of the world still celebrates Christmas. These actors obviously celebrate Christmas…that is the message they left. Do you honestly feel slighted or left out because they didn’t mention a particular day you celebrate? I don’t celebrate Sadie Hawkins day…should I pitch a hissy fit if the actors left a Happy sadie Hawkins message??? These actors would sound very insincere if they got on video and said “id like to wish some of you a Merry Christmas…some of you a Happy Hanukaah….some of you a Joyous Kwanzaa….and well for those of you who get offended by the idea of Christmas…here’s a shout out to you too!”. Do you hear how stupid that would sound?? If you hate Christmas…be a scrooge and hate it…but don’t take the joy and the special meaning of it from others.

annnnnd…so nicely put Lin!

Johnny…you really are ignorant. I thought I explained it well…I thought Lin explained it better. Let’s try again. F o l l o w the w o r d s….

A) It’s the HOLIDAY season.

B) There is more than ONE holiday.

C) There are Jewish actors in soaps…and a Jewish audience. It is not our holiday. Thus, when a cast wishes holiday greetings, it’s nice to include all in this holiday season…which is usually Christmas and Hanukkah. That’s a given. Sometimes they fall in the same week, sometimes weeks apart…but we all know those two holidays are celebrated around the same time.

Now, as for your “these actors obviously celebrate Christmas,” perhaps you didn’t read my post. Sean Kanan, AJ, who is the one who actually says, “Merry Christmas” at the end of the clip, is actually JEWISH. Kristen Alderson (kiki), Brandon Barash (Johnny) Nancy Graham (Alexis), James Franco (original Franco), Sarah Joy Brown (Carly), Tamara Braun…all are Jewish in “real” life…(Kristen half)…

They have joined in many a Christmas greeting…and while we’re at it you do know that White Christmas was written by Irving Berlin, a Jewish composer?

But I digress. Don’t assume that everyone who says or sings Merry Christmas celebrates the holiday…or is he/she does it’s strictly a seasonal, commercial one as its become.

The point is during the holiday season…the one where BOTH holidays occur…BOTH should be mentioned.

No one is against Christmas…don’t put words in my or Lin’s mouth. We simply stated the holiday message should have included both…or maybe sent during Hanukkah to wish a Happy Hanukkah….a Merry Christmas….

Stop being a hater. Cause that’s what you’re sounding like. And those slapping you on the back for support…they’d be complaining if the “greeting” was the other way around.

Johnny? Happy Belated Hanukkah!

And an even Happier New Year…once i hear the show is renewed!

Loved the Merry Christmas video from the GH cast members! My faves were Brooklyn and Jason Thompson and Chad Duell and Kristen Alderson.

All the soaps used to do this. Usually the last episode before Christmas. Loved that. Miss it.

wow!
there are a lot of ornery fans during this joyful season of Holidays .. 🙂

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY HOLIDAYS 🙂 !

U know I love Kelly and Michael together….don’t care what their names are…they just sizzle together.

To Kelly Monaco and Michael Easton they are gorgeous

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year!!!!!

And today on GH, Sam was holding baby Georgie, she look so ‘motherly’……

Ron give Sam a baby with Silas

Today was a good start for them

KM was adorable with “Baby Girl Spinelli.” (Don’t like either name she is known by….hope her papa picks something truly original and deserving for his daughter!) Sam definitely needs a little “Clayette” of her own…while she has been a fab and convincing mother to her son, Danny, she looked far more natural with the little miss.

do you think she can have another baby??????

I hope Ron Carvalti and Frank Valenti give her a baby girl

She look so good holding that baby…the casting for that baby was good!!

It could have been Sam and Silas baby (I know GH fans will disagree with me)

Just give her baby girl name Sage

OK, I said my peace………

@kaffe…Hard to say if they will go there again with Sam (aka, the pregnancy route) given her difficult maternal history, but I’m all for her becoming a wife and mother again with Silas. I like her with him as a couple….they have an emerging lightness and fun about them that never happened during the “Stone Cold Era.” As for custom ordering a baby girl named Sage for Mr. and Mrs. Clay from the team of “Cartini,” good luck with that….LOL.

Im for it too!!!!!

No he may not use the name Sage because GH had a character named Sage on
The show before!!!!!

I just want a name that begin with”S”

The reason I want a baby for Sam:

!! To erase what Franco did to her in @ @
To make Silas a father the second time around
Plus Danny need a little sister…..

But the won’t name the baby Sage……

Can you think of a name?

Let’s see….there’s “Sasha,” “Sierra, “Sienna,” although the last one may sound a bit “too earthy” when combined with the surname “Clay!” Hah!

I say the/ name should be Sierra Clay!!!

Sienna (the color brown)

But Ron should give the another baby!!!!!

Loved all of it, should have been the SCORPIO DRAKE FAMILY, ROBIN, PATRICK AND EMMA 2GETHER AGAIN!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL GENERAL HOSPITAL ACTORS & ALL STAFF

wow…lotta seemingly, maybe? anti-semitic folks in soap land! Instead of agreeing that it would have been nice to include BOTH holidays in an earlier message, instead of just singling out Christmas….they can’t understand why that would be bothersome to some Hanukkah celebrating fans.

I seem to recall a whole lotta people upset when stores took down their Merry Christmas signs and ONLY put up Happy Holidays. They were whining all over the place about how anti-Christian that was. How ’bout spreading your one-sided minds to incorporate ALL holidays….or see how it might bother some when one holiday is very often left out.

Oh? Not your problem….LOL. And THAT’S why the world is such a brotherly state of affairs.

So, just for good measure…Happy Belated Hanukkah my peeps!
