For a nice fun silly break from all the sorrow and frustration over OLTL and AMC’s cancellations over the past week, we found this little ditty from none other than Llanview resident, Ted King (Tomas) in this week’s issue of Soap Opera Weekly that One Life to Live fans will get a kick-out of.  It seems during a recent fan club event, King shared his David Letterman-esque countdown of the Top Ten Reasons You Should Be Watching OLTL! So without further adieu here is the countdown below starting with number ten!

10) If someone gets slapped…it’s real.

9)  Characters over 50 are welcome.

8)  Bullying will not be tolerated.

7) It’s the only show where the guys take off their shirts more than the ladies.

6) Storylines won’t be recycled every six months.

5) The Southern Accents are real.

4) The cops get convictions and put people in jail.

3) (It’s) the only show with two Todds.

2) (It’s) the only soap that exists in New York!

1) (It’s) the only soap where you might see a guy paint, use karate, speak French, Spanish  and English, and play the piano in the same scene.

As a OLTL fan, I love it! Such a cute, but true top 10! Thanks for sharing!

Guys w/shirts off is not one of my top reasons to watch, even in top 100 reasons (eww). But OLTL is the best written soap right now, and the *only* one in New York.

He’s a smart, funny, and handsome man. He’s a pleasure to watch onscreen or in person. If ABCD is smart, they will not stand in the way of someone else saving this well written and produced show. I just read a quote in the most recent Hollywood Reporter by David Madden, Fox Television Studios President.

“..and there’s nothing wrong wrong with reality shows – we make a bunch of them. But frequently they have less appeal to advertisers and are not as appealing to the affluent viewers that advertisers are most interested in.”

Fun list! I remember at Jessica Leccia’s fan luncheon when she was talking about doing her scene with John Wesley Shipp where Inez slaps Eddie Ford. She mentioned that he wanted her to actually slap him, so that it was actually a real connect, not just faked to ‘look’ real.

#OLTL best soap on the air.

Thanks MICHAEL I NEEDED THIS.LOL

As a hugh OLTL fan this made me laugh out load and we have not had too much to laugh about lately. Thanks so much.

I am all about #7!!!

WAY TO GO !!!LOVE IT (I LIVE IN FLORIDA) WE DON’T LIE ABOUT ALLIGATORS NOR BUGS ! OLTL THANK YOU FOR SHOWING ME HOW TO DEAL WITH BULLING, I HAVE A 12 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER.WE CAN WATCH AND PRETEND! THANK YOU GUYS BEEN THERE FROM DAY ONE(NO AGE SPOKEN HERE)

OLTL has the best writing and stories of all three- The reason OLTL is doing so well is because Frons left it alone thinking it was going to tank.. But it sored the moment he got his nasty hands away from it and focused on amc with gh. Both of which have crappy writing..
Ted King as they say in the street-YOU are all that and a bag of chips… Sexy hot smart. OLTL is lucky to have you .. I hope Nbc does pick up OLTL and keep current writers.. because I have a feeling OLTL is really going to be a contender .

omg!!! this is so true!!
and i might add that ted king is so damn sexy and an awesome actor – i loved him on gh and so glad he is on oltl

These are all good reasons, but no one seems to mention the overlooked (especially by the Emmys) but exceptional Florencia Lozano.

Oh, Ted, I heart you. i’ve also been watching soaps for 30 years and have never heard oh this Fairman guy.

Thanks Michael & Ted! 🙂

Lisa Rinna Would Be Down to Reprise Her Role of Taylor McBride in ‘Melrose Place’ Reboot

When Lisa Rinna departed her popular role of Billie Reed on Days of our Lives back in 1995, her next major role would be a jump to primetime and the soapy Melrose Place.

In 1996, Lisa was introduced as new character Taylor McBride and stayed with the Fox young adult sudser for three seasons. Now in 2024, with the recent reveal that a Melrose Place revival is the works with Heather Locklear, Daphne Zuniga and Laura Leighton all on board to reprise their signature roles, would Rinna board the project should it come to fruition?

Speaking with PEOPLE, Rinna expressed, “Well, gosh, I’ve heard about it. I haven’t been approached or anything, but I would love to see what Taylor McBride is up to 25 years later. Wouldn’t that be something?”

Photo: FOX

OG Melrose Place fans know that in story, Taylor moved to the Melrose Place apartment building with her husband Kyle played by Rob Estes. However, Taylor had her eye on Dr. Peter Burns played by former GH star Jack Wagner (ex-Frisco). But, by the time she had moved to the apartment complex, Peter had married tough as nails ad executive, Amanda Woodward, played by Heather Locklear.

Recalling her time on Melrose Place, Rinna added that it, “was one of my greatest and most fun acting experiences, playing Taylor and working with Heather and the whole crew.”  Rinna also noted, “So if they need a Taylor McBride appearance, they know who to call. I’m around.”

The new Melrose Place is in development at CBS Studios. In the premise of the reboot, the Melrose Place residents reunite after the death of one of their friends, “but the pressure cooker of a reunion soon uncovers old traumas, rekindles old romances, reignites old resentments, and reveals new secrets… throwing our characters into chaotic drama that’s reminiscent of the past, but with a much more modern perspective.”

So, would you want to see Lisa Rinna reprise her Melrose Place role as Taylor McBride? Comment below.

Sean Kanan’s Stepdaughter, Juliet Vega, to Appear on The Bold and the Beautiful

Coming up on this Friday’s April 26th episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Juliet Vega, the stepdaughter to Sean Kanan will make an appearance on the CBS daytime drama series in the role of Michele.

Keeping it “All in the Family”, the character is named after Juliet’s real-life mother, and Kanan’s wife, writer and producer, Michele Kanan.

Back in 2012, Sean married Michele Vega and thus began their blended family which included his daughter, Simone, and Michelle’s children, Peter, Gigi, and her twins, Annie and Juliet.

According to a B&B show spokesperson, Juliet’s B&B character is intentionally named Michele in honor of her mother and Sean’s wife.

While we don’t know how “Michele” shows up in story, it is the same episode that Clint Howard makes an appearance as well seemingly tied to the case of where in the world is Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown)?

Photo: CBS

We can’t imagine that Juliet wouldn’t get the opportunity to mix it up on-screen with her stepdad, Sean Kanan. Previously, the two acted together in Sean’s streaming series Studio City, where she played the role of Delilah and he played soap actor, Sam Stevens. In it, Delilah is the bio-daughter Sam never knew he had.

So, looking forward to seeing Juliet on B&B and how ‘Michele’ turns up in the story? Comment below.
