The Bold and the Beautiful Turns 33 Today; Thanks Fans For Tuning In Each and Every Day

Photo: JPI

It was first back on this date in 1987 that we became familiar with the Forrester and the Logans, and from there all the other enduring familial connections that have remained, or come and gone.   Throughout it all, one thing is for sure. The Bold and the Beautiful remains the #2 soap in America and the most-watched soap opera in the world, with its huge worldwide reach and popularity.

B&B still has two original series stars attached to the show who are still as vibrant and as important as ever.  Of course, we are talking about Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) and John McCook (Eric).

Today the show tweeted a special thank you to its enduring fans for 33 years of being able to remain on the air, stating: “Today marks 33 years of #BoldandBeautiful, and it’s all because of you! We wanted to thank all of the loyal B&B fans for tuning in each and every weekday. And a special shoutout to @JohnMcCook44 and @KatherineKellyL  who have been on our cast since DAY ONE!”

John McCook shared: “It’s sobering time in the USA today, but in spite of that, we take great pride and happiness to celebrate (even without a gleeful get-together) our B&B 33rd birthday today!! Our success as a show is your success as our fabulous fan base…So grateful to you all!!”

After Susan left the show did a nose dive it’s never come back ! Brad has no respect for his actors and he shows that with how he treats them he has had hundreds of good actors and he just dumps them like a small child who gets tired of a toy no explanation what so ever they just poof disappear from the screen !

Since I started watching Bold and Beautiful long after Susan left I will take your for it.

Happy Happy Birthday The Bold and the Beautiful! I was a sophomore in high school when you premiered. Thank you for the loves, laugh, fashion, and inspiration. I wrote a character and plot for Sally. After Bradley Bell sent me a script for encouragement (which I still have) I ended up doing internships at both Soap Opera Weekly in 2001 and Soap Opera Digest 2002. I’m a writer, today. Moved away from soaps and more into slice-of-life recently. Now, home quarantined…I’m watching the Fantastic Four soaps again for comfort and familiarity. Yes, I’m hyper critical, however, only want to be challenged. More than ever we need our soaps and characters on screen that we immediately relate and have an affinity and bond. With production halted. Perfect opportunity to reset, reboot, fine tune future scripts, storylines and direction. Above all, keep the opening credits, theme, and vibe. San Franciscan living in Palm Springs….LA is a hop skip and a jump!
I’m available to write.

Congratulations!!!!!!

I really miss B&B. I had watched from the beginning, but with the “new Thomas” SL, I just had to stop. It was too disturbing and sickening to watch. If he ever leaves the show,I will certainly start watching again.

yes…..ditto

I liked the episodes with the new Thomas except his obsession with Dope!!! The way Ridge stuck up for him instead of listening to Broke like he always does & letting her lead him around by the nose!! Ridge needs to dump Broke for good!!!

Happy Birthday B&B!! Congrats on 33 years!! My favorite characters of all time are Steffy, Stephanie & Taylor!! I am one B&B fan who won’t be watching this week’s repeat epusodes!!! Brooke all week? I’d rather have root canal!!! A week of all Steffy Inc some Stephanie, Phoebe & Taylor, now that I would watch!!

Isn’t that funny? I couldn’t stand Stephanie, and more recently Taylor, who turned out to be as nutty as her patients.
