Days Of Our Lives

The EJami Episode Airs Today On DAYS! The Can't-Miss Scenes!

Courtesy/NBC

Courtesy/NBC

It’s a very big day for long time fans of EJami on NBC’s Days of our Lives!  When the stage is set for fireworks to explode, and their relationship possibly to implode on today’s episode!

The set-up has the incriminating photos of EJ (James Scott) and Abigail (Kate Mansi) in the throes of passion in an envelope that Sami (Alison Sweeney) got her hands on when it was slipped under the door at the DiMera mansion!

As Alison Sweeney has previewed in the current issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, this is one of her all-time favorite episodes that she has been a part of in her over 20 years with the soap.

Sweeney also revealed: “The whole first half of the show is just the two of us in these really long scenes together dealing with Sami finding out what EJ had done.  It’s incredible.”

Alison later added, “I feel there was not-one stone left unturned in the conflict between the two as the two of then have it out over his unfaithfulness.”

So just how do you think this episode will in the end play itself out?  Will Sami forgive EJ? Will it be splittsville?  Look for Deidre Hall (Marlena), Kate Mansi (Abigail) and Melissa Reeves (Jennifer) to also appear later in the show.  We will have more coverage on this special episode this evening.

Well…he raped her, and she shot him in the head….I dont see how a little boink with some chick with daddy issues is worse than either of those things. I am sure they can get past it.

Boink? How crass. Abbi is pregnant, how bourgeois , …as I said, typically male.

I hope it does happen that way, …Abni pregnant and loses the baby…..Sami leaves EJ…..Abbi completely disappears…is this entire episode imaginary?

Crass?? EJ’s 85 year old father called it “banging”! It was not making love because they are not in love. It was what it was…boinking, banging, bumping uglies…whatever word or term applies.

You’re right. I prefer the term “hump” myself,
Not so bourgeois.

I am laughing so hard; no kidding!

Lol. Glad you liked!

LOL…. well said!!!

I was just not familiar with that word used in that sense….I had to ask my mother….wrong generation, maybe?

I am looking forward to the episode, most specifically, the portrayal from James Scott as EJ Dimera. James brings his all to each and every scene, has chemistry with everyone on the show. I’ve always thought that Sami was too immature for EJ. For someone who is head of a successful company, has 4 children, etc., she acts like a child most of the time. For example, when she pouted about Will and Sonny having a nicer wedding than her and EJ. I just have never cared for the character. I think Kelly Sullivan (ex Connie/Kate from GH) would be an incredible recast.

Gotta hand it to Ali Sweeney, just went home for lunch and watched today’s episode. AMAZING! Way to go to everyone who was featured on today’s show!

Sami and E.J. deserve each other…didnt he rape her…didnt she shoot him…and yet they still wuv each other…so little Abigail is what it takes to break them up for good? Well, if they arent leaving town together…maybe on the run after Nick is found murdered, then i guess they will split up!!!…lol

I’d love for someone to “off” Nick; that would be a great mystery-so many suspects!

You don’t kill Hortons. You put them on islands.

You are right, jimh. You always are . You always make sense. EJ’s and Sami’s horrific crimes are indisputable. Neither of them is a favorite to me personally. However, they have become accepted fixtures in our homes….it took a while. The majority of viewers like them, as I like you, jimh…lol…really!!! You are also right in what you are implying…that it takes Abigil to break them up? I get it….nothing could shake them loose….if a relationship is strong, then that love should be able to surmount everything. But, in my limited experience in the ways of love and relationships; deceit, betrayal, and all things pertaining to infidelity does a number on someone, no? I suppose we must all experience these hurts before we finally find the one…..but a cheater will always be a cheater . Thus, considering their reciprocated betrayals, EJ and Sami should not be too surprised if either of them deceives the other.

I hope Sami does not cause Abby to miscarry!

OMG EJami is breaking my heart, they belong together!!!!

Late to DAYS as I watched other now-cancelled soaps in the day, but since I have come to Salem, I have not been disappointed in how DAYS builds suspense and delivers these special episodes. Knowing the histories, I do understand infidelity may seem unlikely to break the camel’s back for EJ and Sami, but at least this is a very human real conflict… not about surprise resurrections, mistaken identities, or endless back-and-forth flirtations. I am looking forward to this.

As I stated last week, I don’t think this is Stefano’s doing. I may be wrong but Percy slipped the pictures under the door.

I cannot believe a show would hype a dream sequence this much. It feels as if the show has lost all creative direction. I love soaps and it’s sad to see Days reduced to this.

I was disappointed it was a dream sequence, too. Wonder when the true reveal will take place, the wedding in May, probably. May sweeps.

The dream is just a fraction of what will really happen!

Im sure Jamison will live up to the hype <3

Who or what is Jamison?

I thing it’s James and Allison?

I believe it is a reference to the actors James and Allison

I hate that they even have to have these scenes. That said, I will be watching! I hope they aren’t done.

Perhaps they are preparing us…pave the way, per se, to rough waters? But isn’t mayhem the writers’s scope? ….or the imagery was devised to keep us in suspense and keep watching. Just my opinion …..

Did I miss something…because this episode did not air!?

What a rip off– hate when they pull that stunt– was royally ticked off– the actors will have footage for next year Emmy reel and that’s the only good thing to come of it. But for me two thumbs down, boo hiss– loved it until the twist then hated it.

It was real good til they faked it…i hated it too!!!

Please….writers…..do NOT channel James E Reilly again and use his stupid extended dream sequences ever again! He almost ruined this show twice in the past and the damage he did to some characters and stories is still being repaired!!

Yeah ! Copy that !

That’s exactly what my mother said…almost verbatim. Lol

Verbatim of what you said Mary…you and she almost always say the same thing…lol

It was a fake out. At about the 35 minute mark, we all find out that EJ is imagining this. I get that Alison Sweeney is proud of her work, and James Scott’s, but at the end of the day, Sami is still clueless, EJ is still frightened, and the secret has yet to be revealed. I didn’t realize it was all in EJ’s imagination until he went over to Abby’s, and their dialogue didn’t ring true at all. Up till then, I thought JS and AS were good, though I thought AS needed some tears streaming down her face, or something to make it look like Sami was distraught because hearing her yell at him without tears didn’t work for me. Another thing I didn’t like was how speedy everything was, from Sami figuring it out, to EJ admitting he’d had an affair, to even Marlena criticizing EJ when she’d only seen the photo for about 2 seconds. I wish that the hype for this episode would have led to some forward motion for this story and for DOOL overall. They’re stuck in slo mo, or focusing on couples no one cares about like Jennifer and Daniel, for much too long. And they don’t know how to use Drake Hogestyn now that he’s back. TPTB are making all the wrong choices and IMO, making today’s heavily hyped episode all in EJ’s mind was yet another one.

You hit the nail on the head about Daniel and Jennifer-snooze fest.

I agree about the crying/yelling. I’ve never been a fan of Ali’s; but, I do think this episode was one of her best. James Scott always delivers. I think he could carry anyone through a scene.

I couldn’t agree more about the TPTB making all the wrong choices. To hype a dream sequence the way they did was ridiculous. The show was a total waste of time — though I immensely enjoyed seeing Abs thrown over the staircase. If only that could happen every day.

I cannot WAIT for this! The show, as much as I love it, sometimes moves a bit slowly. But when the “stuff” hits the fan, it’s great. And this promises to be mindblowing.
Abigail better not have her hair in a bun next time she sees Sami. Sami is likely to pull it right off her head. And I’m so looking forward to listening to Jenn blather about it all. I don’t like Abigail, but I sorta feel sorry her since she has that smug, self-congratulatory harridan as a mother. And without a doubt, Jenn will make it all about her.

Ha Ha!

Oh, man…I love the way you think …you wrote my thoughts exactly. But, I feel no pity for her or her bun. As for Jen? What about her ?? Blah, blah, blah.

Used up cow??? Wow…I sense some jealousy towards the fresh faced Ms. Mansi. While I hate the direction the show often takes Abigail, sympathy for Sami is a bit much. She was fairly “used up” by the time she was 18…..sleeping with Lucas, rapingAustin, being raped by Alan, etc.

The show is just a dream! I was so irritated that I wasted my time.

Exactly, not only did it waste our time it ruin the eventually true reveal because honestly those scenes before Marlena came in were brilliant and so beautifully acted and heart wrenching– nothing they will do when it is the real reveal will move me– so they ruined these scenes by making them fake, and ruined future scenes because nothing would top the fake ones— why or why do this writers do this stunt writing when they know how it ticks viewers off. I’m mad enough that I am considering boycotting DAYS because I don’t want to reward stunt writing that ruins my enjoyment of the show.

I loved the fake out!

What was so great about it was the fact that we know that EJ feels that Abby is pregnant.

You do realize none of those scenes really happened and it was only what EJ imagine what would happen if Sami saw the picture? Sami is still in the dark about the affair, but I am sure the truth will come out eventually, but just not today.

Yes, I do now. But, Mary SF I was typing and posting while watching…lol…then I realized and asked if it was imaginary…they got me hook, line and sinker…Ha Ha

My mother was watching with me. She realized it before I did…we were going at it back and forth…lol…Moms are always right. And, you are right, Mary, the truth is bound to come out. I believe that Abbi is over her wanton urges for EJ, or so she says(unless she is kidding herself), so a pairing there might not be feasible when Sweeney leaves. A Sami recast, perhaps?

Well THAT was a disappointment, although I’m also glad that this isn’t the way it will play out. But still, essentially a waste of time and talent.

I will say, though, that I can never get enough of anyone, anytime, anywhere, pushing Abigail off any staircase. The higher, the better. After all, if she lands on her head there will be no permanent damage. Of course, the best would be if Jenn broke her fall and Abigail landed squarely in her big mouth.
Now THAT is a dream!

I am just wondering….Jen found the drugs in Daniel’s apartment and is in painful disbelief?!?!?! Lol …..what are the chance she will also find the planted, hidden bug (camera)? I hope she realizes that the same person who has framed Daniel also planted the pills. But, knowing Jen, she will assume the worst about Daniel, as is her wont.

Jen has become such an annoying holier than thou harpie. I’m rooting for Liam.

Well, we now know that it is about Liam’s first love interest, wife etc…an obsession which manifests itself with women who bear a resemblance to his first love. However, I object…Jen is too old, for one…secondly Jen cannot hold a candle to Dorothy.(is that her name?)… This is a very young woman in comparison to Jen…at least 20 years. But, considering Lism’s delusional personality and mental issues, any blonde will do, I guess. The brain is a complex network… So, now, The perils of Jennifer continue…so scary!! What a dumb storyline….Watch out, a Jen …the -Boogie -Man-a-comin’
I would like to say that Sami should stay out of her son’s private life. She was never “into” Gabi…let’s face it, she is a busy-body. …reminds me of my older sister’s mother-in-law…lol.

I do believe someone will kill Nick…but, who? He has amassed quite a few enemies, so it could be anyone.
And, the hunt is on !!!!…. New storyline in the process.

EJAMI FOREVER! I know it will never happen but I don’t want Sami to find out! Why can’t Sami and EJ just be together? Why is someone always tearing them apart? Why can’t Abigail move to Switzerland and leave Ejami in peace? We only have a year left with Allison, can the writers just please let them be together for that entire time? We Ejami die hards have waited long enough! Australia loves Ejami!

Days Of Our Lives

Stephen Schnetzer Talks On His Return to Days of our Lives and Working with Susan Seaforth Hayes In Emotional Episodes

Who says you can’t go home again? In the case of Another World favorite, Stephen Schnetzer (ex-Cass Winthrop), he has proven that it is true, and you can go back to your soap roots and where it all started for you.

Last week on April 11th, Schnetzer, along with several other key returns were on set at Days of our Lives taping all-new episodes of the Peacock streaming soap opera, centering on the funeral of Doug Williams (the late Bill Hayes), and as part of the iconic soap opera’s 15,000th episode.

Stephen is reprising his first daytime role as Steve Olson, the brother of Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes). The last time Schnetzer appeared on a DAYS set was during his one and only run on the show from 1978 to 1980. Clearly, viewers will be in for some very emotional scenes when Steve returns to Salem to be there for his sister, Julie in her time of need. In real-life, Susan has been going through her own grief, having just lost Bill back on January 12th at the age of 98.

Photo: NBC

Michael Fairman TV caught up with Stephen during the 15K episode celebration ceremony, and during a break from taping the gut-wrenching funeral scenes, to get his thoughts on being part of these highly-anticipated moments that will air later this year in December. Here’s what he shared with us below.

What has this been like for you to work with Susan Seaforth Hayes after all of these years?

STEPHEN: She’s a dream and she’s so bright. We ran lines yesterday and we ended up just visiting for about 45 minutes and just catching up and telling tales about each other’s career. She even dropped off the autobiography that she and Bill did. And being back here at DAYS, every time I turn a corner, there’s another familiar face. When I was on the show 40 more years ago, a bunch of the guys, played softball on a team together. This is really a trip down memory lane as I knew it would be.

Photo: JPI

Taping Doug’s funeral must be a hard day for Susan. Are you checking in with her to help hold her up through this?

STEPHEN: I am and I’m checking in with Amy Shaughnessy (Susan’s assistant), and she’s holding her up more than anybody. We’re there for each other.

There will obviously be some major hankie-inducing moments when Steve comes back to Salem to console his sister.

STEPHEN: Oh, wait till you see it in December. It’s going to be great.

Were you surprised you got this call to come back to the show decades later?

STEPHEN: It was out of the blue! I was completely surprised. They should have called me decades ago! That’s what surprised me. When Another World went down, I thought I’d land somewhere else and it never happened. That was more of a surprise.

Photo: JPI

Cass is such an identifiable character for you. As well, you and Linda Dano (ex-Felicia Gallant) are so synonymous together as best friends Cass and Felicia from Another World. When fans heard you were reprising your role as Steve Olson on DAYS, they are now hoping there will be more of you on the show to come.

STEPHEN: Steven Olson is a real “Cassian “character. I cut my teeth on Steve Olson and that’s how Cass was introduced. He was kind of a roguish charmer. And then when the character stuck for Another World, they rehabilitated me, and turned me into one of the shows heroes. And that’s what would’ve happened if I stayed as Steve Olson probably. So, Steve is the ‘pre-Cass’, Cass.

Photo: JPI

As the story goes, you originally decided to leave Days of our Lives?

STEPHEN: I was never on contract. I was doing a day and a half a week and I got a Broadway play directed by Franco Zeffirelli starring Joan Plowright and Frank Finlay. I was able to it as I didn’t have to break a contract or anything. I cut loose and went back to New York for that.

How well did you get to know Bill Hayes during your first time around on DAYS?

STEPHEN: My first episode was with Bill and Susan, as her long lost brother coming into Salem. They were so good to me. They were so kind. I had been doing eight years of classical repertory theater, never been in front of a camera. I tell everybody, it took me longer than any other actor I’ve ever seen to get comfortable in front of a camera. And they were very supportive at that time in my career. Coming back to honor Bill now in 2024, and to be see Susan, I am just so happy to be here.

Looking forward to seeing the scenes between Stephen and Susan Seaforth Hayes come December and Doug’s funeral and surrounding episodes? Do you hope that DAYS might bring the character of Steve Olson back for a longer stay? Comment below.
