TNT's DALLAS Cancelled After Third Season!

Why is it that all the great soaps end up in heaven?  That is the question we are asking ourselves today following the heartbreaking news that TNT has decided to cancel Dallas after three seasons!

The Dallas reboot and its recently aired third season finale left so many exciting questions to be answered with its numerous cliffhangers including” the fallout from Christopher’s  (Jesse Metcalfe) death and the reveal of Ewing sister, but it looks like fans will never know the answer at least through TNT’s production entity.

TNT issued this statement today on the cancellation:  “We are extremely proud of Dallas, which defied expectations by standing as a worthy continuation of the Ewing saga. We want to thank everyone involved with the show, from the extraordinary cast to the impeccable production team, led by the show’s creative forces, Cynthia Cidre and Mike Robin. We especially want to thank the people of Dallas for their warm and generous hospitality during the production of the series.”

The contemporary and amped version of the Ewing saga, which was a revitalized version of CBS’ original series that starred Larry Hagman (J.R.), Linda Gray (Sue Ellen) and Patrick Duffy (Bobby) from 1978 to 1991, had trouble bringing in audience numbers in its third season, which split its seasons airing the second half in early fall.

This season began in February with 2.7 million viewers , matching the series’ season 2 average.  The second half of season 3 dipped to 2.0 million viewers in its August launch.  The ratings had stayed stable heading into Dallas’  mind-bending two-hour season finale.  However, the finale brought in  only 1.7 million viewers.  When the Dallas reboot began it brought in close to 7 million viewers in 2012, but that has been in a decline over the three seasons.

So what are your thoughts on the sad news that Dallas has bit the dust?  Do you think it deserved to be cancelled? Were you enjoying the third season of Dallas which was like a “soap on steroids” with all its fast and furious twist and turns as much as we were?  Weigh-in below!

I think it is canceled because it aired on TNT instead of one the bigger networks as FOX, or ABC etc..
It’s all about location location location, Dallas had bad location that killed Dallas..

I don’t think it is about location. The cable channels are the go channels for drama now:

Breaking Bad
Mad Men
Game of Thrones
Fargo
The Last Ship
Walking Dead

All air on cable and do well some do better than networks.

I just think it’s time has come.

If i was on network TV instead of cable, this show would have been cancelled a long time ago.

I looked forward to every season and hated to see them end.
I will never start to watch any series on TNT again. This was s big let down.

This is just dreadful. The writing and acting on Dallas are superb. I watch some shows in primetime, on network TV, and shake my head at how unbelievable thin the plots are and how mediocre the acting is. Dallas was just so well done.

It’s demo numbers were very similar to Y&R. Of course Y&R is a daytime drama, but it must be a hell of a lot more expensive to produce than Dallas and Dallas isn’t vying for a network slot. With so many networks looking for content, this show has an audience and should be valuable to someone. Maybe there is a chance it can find another home.

But hats off to the writers, producers and actors for putting together a wonderful show that was smart, top quality and worthy of its predecessor.

I think the show shouldve been a summer series with a few extra episodes then repeated in the winter months following Christmas season…TNT shouldve tried a different time slot…but IMHO…no matter how many great actors there were on this show, it just wasnt the same without Larry Hagmans J.R.!!!

It has been hard for them to find their way w/o JR…. it was so stupid and sad when they undid his whole master plan, it was like not just spitting on JR’s grave, it felt like they disrespected Larry as well. :/

I agree, season 3 was strange NOT due to the lack of Larry Hagman but due to the lack of leaving his final act as JR intact. I also felt season 3 failed because they literally turned every internal Ewing (or in the case of Elena extended family) against their counterpart…..Bobby and Ann / John Ross and Pam and Sue Ellen / Christopher against Elena…..I loved John Ross & Pamela and they should have focused on them being a super-couple. I loved when the Ewings were united against a common enemy outsider like Cliff or Harris and his psycho mother. Imagine bringing Catherine back?

There was always a certain amount of infighting within the Ewings but also lines that weren’t crossed. I could accept Christopher being killed off because without JR the family struggle now was between John Ross and Bobby with Christopher kind of out there with no real power other than to echo his father’s.

Cynthia Cidre did well but really lost site of what makes Dallas in season 3 and strayed too far from the ranch. Those drifting’s often cost the original series viewers and, while a certain dynamic there was lost when Jock died, Bobby leveling against John Ross, Pamela and Sue Ellen internally would have been wonderful.

Everything that was concluded in season 2 should have remained sacred and not undone as I feel Dallas 2012 had many more scenarios and life left…and still could. I equate season 3 of the reboot with the season of Dallas where Bobby died and was erased as Pam’s dream! While a cheesy return at least we got rid of silly characters and plots and got back on course. I wish a season 4 with the addition of perhaps one of the original head writers could exist…at least to undo the damage of season 3, put John Ross and Pamela together, Let them as a whole take on the Cliff’s and Ryland’s…..maybe bring in Gary as a regular.

This absolutely STINKS!!!

I guess I have no more reason to watch TNT now. I thought Josh Henderson had really started to fill the shoes of the show’s villain.

We can only hold out hope that another channel like TVGuide picks the show up, they’ve already got Y&R. Then there is a chance that perhaps netflix or hulu would take it on. It’s geared towards 20-55, taking it online could be the logical step.

I am crying all over the place about this announcement.

I missed being able to see the original series because I had to work nights, and now that I’m completely hooked on the reboot, TNT has to go and cancel it.

Only the good die young…
wolfy

I loved Dallas. It had a great cast, and I will miss it a lot. Josh Henderson was phenomenal as John Ross!

I thought the last batch of shows (hardly a “season”) was so boring I simply tuned out.

I will admit that I didn’t watch the 3rd season. Without JR, it just wasn’t Dallas. I know that was, by no means, the show’s fault- may Larry Hagman rest in peace- but it was just very hard to watch without him. Also, I wasn’t a fan of Judith Light’s character, nor her son or granddaughter, to be honest.

I agree. I was a huge fan of the original series, and tuned in to this with great excitement. I loved it. I watched until after JR/Hagman’s death, finished out that season, and then I gave the second season a try. I made it through most of it but I found it boring. I didn’t think the two actors playing Christopher and John Ross were very strong, and even with the divine Linda Gray and the hardworking Patrick Duffy, it just wasn’t compelling enough. I found the younger female actresses all appallingly bad. I wanted to love it with all my heart, but it just lost its way without JR.

You hit the nail on the head.

TNT waited too long to bring back DALLAS, and then when they did, poor Larry Hagman passed away. DALLAS is not DALLAS unless there is J.R. Ewing.

SAD…………ONE OF THE BEST NITE TIME TV SHOWS….LOVED THE CAST AND THE STORIES EACH WEEK….SURE OUT WEIGHS SOME OF THE PURE JUNK ON THE MAIN NETWORKS…GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE CAST, THEY WERE TERRIFIC!!!! MAYBE SOME OTHER NETWORK CAN PICK UP THE SHOW AND NOT SPLIT THE SEASON!!! WE CAN ALWAYS HOPE…

I finally watched the finale on my day off yesterday.
I was so excited to look forward to the next installment.
I certainly didn’t see a cancellation coming.
Perhaps the show could be shopped around – maybe FOX could pick it up ?
I think it is definitely worth carrying forward.

The only show on TV that is decently written. If you would have shown more than a few shows at a time your audience would be greater. I will never watch TNT again.

I am truly shocked!!! Didn’t expected to hear this!

What? Is the Network stoned? Is the kiddy demographic not correct. the writing was great. the actors were great the ratings were great. Was it a cost/benefit analysis? I remember the first Dallas in 1977 when i was 20 years old and the writing in this version 30 years later was just as good. maybe that was the problem. maybe the masses want more reality low budget TV with lousy writers and crappy actors. THIS SHOW HAD PLENTY OF LIFE. It NEEDED 3 more seasons to develop Please be picked up by another network and thrive. The demographics are there. We GEN X’ers may be small in number but we remember the 1970’s and can certainly appreciate great writing and production.

I said this before, those early numbers were based on the fact this show debut in the summer without any major competition — there are viewers in the summer, but all the sweeps weeks that determine ad rates are not– so TNT foolishly believed if they took this popular show for them and put it on Monday nights, going against live shows like Dancing with the Stars, the Voice etc– during a sweeps period– it stood a chance. I think not.

But what really killed it this year was the split season– showing four or five episodes stopping for like 5 months, and then showing another four/five?? shows was the dumbest thing they did. I am certain if they just ran the whole season all at once the numbers would have been better. But it is over now, all I can hope is perhaps TNT will green light a made for tv movie to finish the series properly– or that the producers of this show find a new home for the show.

Totally agree!!!!! They messed up a good thing.

I agree, too. That, and lack of advertising. I didn’t even know the second half of the season had started until the two-hour finale. I hope someone picks it up. The cast and writing were great.

Totally agree….TNT is to blame. Don’t balme the fans TNT! Blame yourselves for splitting a season like that! No one even knew it was back on in August.

Im so upset!!!!! This is one of the only shows I look forward to watching. The acting is awesome! I hope another network picks it up!!!

This is very sad! I hoe that they can find a new home for the show!

I really love dallas and think its a shame that they would cancel it. Hopefully another network will pock it up. How can TNT just leave us hanging like this ? Very big mistake

This is why I almost never give new shows or any reboot a chance view. I hope it finds a home else where, I really did enjoy this show. It was my new Melrose Place and that reboot didn’t make it beyond 1 season. Happy Trails, Southfork… you will be missed.

Honestly, is anyone upset by this? Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray gave it there all but the show really suffered from poor execution.

It seemed to me that the producer and writers made a LOT of mistakes. They failed to use the history of the show properly. While they did focus on the Ewing/Barnes feud and teased us with the idea that Pam might be alive, they completely ignored other traits of the Ewing family history or gave them too little treatment. Why were Lucy and Ray brought onto the show only for barbeques and weddings?? Poor Charlene Tilton seemed to have only one line every time she appeared, “This reminds me of the old days!” Couldn’t the writers find something more relevant for them to do than these inane cameos. Heck, Lucy didn’t even interact with her parents, Gary and Val, when they appeared. I didn’t expect them to be major characters appearing in every episode but the poor treatment of these significant characters from the original show was glaring.

While I understand the need to introduce young characters to the show to keep it going, why did we get Elena and a lot of random new characters with no real connection to the Ewings. Where was James Beaumont, the oldest child of JR? He never appeared — not even for his father’s funeral —- and no one even mentioned the poor guy. Another completely missed opportunity: Lucas Krebbs, the biological son of Bobby and Jenna Wade who was raised in Europe by Jenna and Ray Krebbs. Lucas would be in his mid 20’s by this point and the prime age to be a key young character. Meanwhile, he easily could have built in resentment towards Bobby for basically ignoring him with the other Ewing ‘black sheep” Ray and Bobby’s “second best love” Jenna understanding his plight and supporting him.

Also, did anyone else think it was strange that Sue Ellen, Bobby, Christopher, or John Ross NEVER even mentioned that Sue Ellen was Christopher’s biological aunt? Christopher may have been a Ewing via adoption but, biologically, his only relatives on the show were Sue Ellen and John Ross. It didn’t need to be a major plot point but the total failure to have any mention of this was beyond strange.

To top all of that off, the writing —- particularly during this last season — was horrific. This last season was nothing more than a telenovela that should have been on Univision with a few minor plots involving the Ewings. It was DREADFUL. The writing at the end was so lousy that I strongly suspect that the producer and writers knew the show was done and simply was going through the steps to finish the season.

The ONLY new character of any note was the very strange Judith Ryland — cast with the talented but completely age-inappropriate Judith Light. Her relationship with her son (played by an actor who was probably 5 years younger than Light!) appeared to be wildly inappropriate with the mother on the verge of seducing him in very scene. Also, did anyone else catch the scene where Judith Ryland took a hefty snort of cocaine and uttered the line, “Mama like”?? There was also the humorous efforts to make Light appear to be older than she obviously was, including giving her a walking cane as a prop.

I couldn’t decide if the writing for Judith Ryland was brillant or a trainwreck. The one thing that I can say about her — She was the ONLY new character on the show who could generate my interest.

This likely is the end of the Ewing saga on television and I am sorry about that. However, I’m more sorry that this clan was wasted in this poorly written show. It really is a shame that Larry Hagman’s last turn as JR Ewing was in this vehicle.

One thousand percent yes. Yes. Yes. You nailed it.

I agree with many of the opinions so why be redundant here. I think the 3rd season was trying to change the show. Got away from Ewings driving story and more into the Mexican intrigue. What was the point?

I agree 100%!!

What a shame! I really enjoyed the show, although it definitely wasn’t the same after Larry Hagman passed away. He was Dallas. But still, they did a great job keeping with the tradition of the show, but also modernizing it for today’s audience.

Unfortunately, it was pretty obvious TNT had no intention of keeping it around. They split up the 3rd season, which I thought was a terrible idea. And then they did almost no advertising whatsoever to announce the show was coming back at the end of August. I had no idea it was coming back until I happened to be scrolling through the TV listings on the day it returned. Not to mention Monday nights are an incredibly tough night to compete for ratings.

Rather than cancel it like this, leaving so many unresolved stories up in the air, I don’t know why they couldn’t have brought it back, even just for 6 episodes or something, just to give the writers a chance to tie up the loose ends, and give the show a proper goodbye. Very poor job by TNT.

TNT has officially canceled Dallas, what a shame! I will admit that I tuned in every week to see the trials, tribulations, backstabbing and scheming that went on at Southfork and Ewing Global. But, in my personal opinion, there is a mix bag of reasons why the juggernaut cable network didn’t renew the series. Firstly, in my eyes, the date/time the series debuts, is a big reason as to why the show wasn’t picked up. Secondly, the ratings have obviously declined. And while fans of the Primetime Sudser continue to bash TNT for the cancellation, they should look more closely at the Team behind the actual show. These past couple of months on the show have been less than exciting. An exhausting and constant fight for land, a Mexican drug cartel taking over Texas and a kidnapping of two of the most expendable (in my opinion) characters on the show, created for little drama. An important reason for any show’s continuation is the passion for telling a story. The writers for this series seem to just throw in any plot they can, including cheap stunts, for ratings. It’s clear to (me, at least) that there wasn’t much passion for storytelling towards the end.

TNT.What the hell are you thinking?
This season was the best.and you guys are a bunch of buffoons for cancelling it.
so what now.another stupid reality show like Honey Boo Bitch
I for one are super pissed of your shortsightedness.
i truly hope another network or even Netflix is pick this fine acted show up.
one more thing you really suck TNT

WHAT IN THE HELL?!?!? TNT…how dare you cancel DALLAS?!?!? As of right now, I am D-O-N-E with TNT…and that includes TNT OnDemand!!!!! Bottom Line Here: TNT…shame on ya’ll!!!!!!!

Damn, I always missed it yet caught a marathon in early Aug before the latest new stuff began and I LOVED it…what a shame.

I’m very disappointed. I wish TNT would give it one more season to wrap things up…or even a 2-hour time slot to do so. It was wonderful to revisit Southfork again and I will miss all those creative souls who brought DALLAS back to life for us. I wish them well.

I watched but, truth to tell, this show was never much fun. Too many confusing double crossing business deals, and way too dark. No meals around the Ewing dining room table, no Oil Barron’s Ball ….

Oh come on now….you can’t just leave us hanging!!!!!! Please provide a way for us to know how all of the drama ends. Maybe just a 3 more episodes will do, or better yet, one more season….PLEASE!!!!!

When I recently saw the ratings for season 3, I had a feeling we wouldn’t see a season 4. This series was far from perfect but I sure enjoyed the heck out of it. It was one of 4 or 5 series that I considered must-see. Sad day IMO…

Dallas without Larry/JR , it was never the same..
I thought after JR was no longer- that Dallas would struggle..
And being on TNT is a coffin nail ..

You want a show to fail, start it on one night, during one time of the year, move it to another night, another Time of the year, and again, then split the season half, then another night, move it around turn it upside down,of course it’s gonna lose viewers. TNT you fucked us. I won’t watch your shows anymore.

I guess people like stupid “reality” shows like “Storage Wars” better. I’m extremely disappointed at this news.

I hate this, but at least we had three good seasons. DALLAS on TNT was my favorite drama on tv.

I am truly disappointed!!! Although I would love for Dallas to return for a 4th…. season, I don’t understand how a network can produce a show that had a true following and not tie up loose ends with at least a 2 hour movie. They left us with so many unanswered questions with the Season 3 finale and now we are all left up in the air on the outcome. I was very upset with the passing of Larry “JR” Hagman but I felt the cast gave exceptional performances especially by Josh Henderson (John Ross), Bobby & Sue Ellen. I will truly miss this show!!!!

Please Please tell me that this is just a JOKE!!!! I watched this show as a teenager love it and was very happy of bringing it back and love this series. Please reconsider your decision.

DALLAS is great and I’m sorry to see it get cancelled. Maybe if TNT (and all the other cable channels) didn’t split their season’s in 1/2 they would be able to hold onto an audience. Who ever came up with that idea wasn’t thinking straight. That is a sure fire way to lose your audience. Keep them guessing as to when it returns.

I really hope that TNT (&Other cable stations) gets a clue and stops splitting the season’s in 1/2. That TNT will change their mind and decide to bring back DALLAS..

So sad, I’m a fan from episode 1, living in Belgium and downloading the show every week because the third season wasn’t on television here. And every week I enjoyed and when the ratings came in disapointed, it was down every week. I loved the old cast and Josh Henderson was a perfect new JR, and Julia Gonzalez was great bud the show had to go about oildeals, family twist and business and not about some mexican drugs cartel. I hope the show finds a new network, if not I hope Dallas gets a final movie to give the series a proper ending.

TNT sorry to say are really really really stupid

Tnt, really bad decision. I hope another network will pick up dallas. I have watched dallas since 1978.this last 2hr episode was the best ever.cbs would do a better job in either keeping this show, or at least have it end with a proper ending.dallas needs to continue.

Please someone pick this show back up. Ever espisode kept me on my feet.

maybe some other channel will pick it up. three years is good for a restart, but i hate it when they have so many unanswered questions and then you don’t get any conclusions.

I am truly sadden by this because the writing was superb. In spite of there being a lot of successful cable shows, there are just as many successful network show too, and I think Friday nights on CBS is where this show belongs. I also think if there is one area where it failed miserably, it was in not bringing back a lot of the vets as regulars because unknowns like Elena, Drew, Ann and Emma are people the show’s fans were not and did not want to invest in. We wanted to see what Lucy and Mitch have been up to over the years. If Donna and Ray were still together….And what about their daughter Margaret? Where’s JR’s sneaky secretary Sly? And then there were the Ewing Oil enemies like Jeremy Wendell. What happened to Clayton Farlow? I understand the some of the actors/actresses from the original series may not have wanted to return on a regular basis, but anyone should be willing to come in for a few episodes to let us see what happened to them. They needed their vets.

I really enjoyed all three seasons of the show, but they did much more advertising for
the first season. It was on TV, in magazines and on the internet but not so much for
season 2 and 3. TNT killed it with moving it and the split season. I would have missed
the first few shows if I didn’t have it set in my DVR. The season was to short, just as you were getting into the show it was over and it took to long to return. The rating will never be like in the day when everyone watched to see who shot JR. There were not
as many TV stations or no internet. When Cheers first came on it had low rating but it became a big hit over time. It would not have had a chance today because shows are
cancel after only a few episodes if the rating are not they feel they should be. Sorry to
see a great show, a great cast and great acting be cancel.

I agree with all of the positive comments about Dallas; (1.) the writing was superb; (2.)TNT is blind, (3.) the way the show was split during the summer and winter was poor planning, (4.) some other channel needs to pick it up, soon ; I was anticipating the outstanding new season , (5.) I felt as one of the commenters, since Hagman died, the show wouldn’t be good ; Hagman’s death was a huge dynamic ; (nothing could be done about that) ; however, the writers did an excellent job, anyway.

I am extremely disappointed that TNT decided to cancel Dallas. Viewers like myself have put in 3 seasons of watching the reboot of Dallas and have enjoyed the series. By what I have read there are alot of fans who are just as upset as I am and have signed a petition to try to keep Dallas on the air. I watched the old series from start to finish and loved all the characters. This reboot of Dallas not only had some of the fan favorites from the past but added some real talented actors. I can only hope that TNT will reconsider their decision after seeing more than 70,000 signatures on a petition and so many people up in arms over this cancellation. Thank you for listening.

You know TNT cancelled the The Client List too. Seems like anything that’s any good gets canned. I loved Dallas! I was a big fan of the original Dallas. I mean stupid shows like those big butt Kardashians stay on the air, or all those stupid reality shows stay on. I don’t know who decides these things but they are talking to the wrong people. It’s just a shame that Dallas was cancelled with all the un-answered questions. I hope another network picks it up!! TNT, you guys screwed up!!!

To bad I will miss it. I”m a huge fan. I think they should at list give us a “finale”. If they would put it in a different night it would do better.

I only just discovered the show had been cancelled. I kept waiting and waiting for it to come back on, doing searches on my cable, for “Dallas.” I am disgusted beyond belief. I would not have watched it at all if I’d known that I’d be left hanging with all this stuff going on. Non cable channels have done this over the years with series shows. They should have done just a few episodes then to wrap it all up. Gee, what would have even been wrong with a happy ending? Maybe JRs ghost walking up and talking to family at one of those BBQs, after they’ve won their battles at long last? Maybe when Christopher’s car blew up, it was because some car jacker just jumped in and tried to take off and Christopher wasn’t in there? If you didn’t have such massive gaps between seasons, maybe more would watch. I won’t be making the mistake of getting involved in a TNT series again. Stop spoon feeding us garbage and killing of the greatest programs like Dallas. Years ago, I was re-watching the entire original Dallas in the middle of the night, months before it would have ended, they just stopped one night, no notice. I literally sat down and cried. I had missed a lot of episodes the first time around. Someone, please take this up again. I am SO leery of series shows any more. I will wait until they are all properly ended and binge watch somewhere else, online, or Netflix (with NO ads, thank you!)

Just give us an ending! It’s really lousy of you to get us hooked on a good show, and then not give us ending. Come up with a closure show. No one likes to be left hanging. Mahalo & a Aloha.

Lifetime’s ‘Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas’ Brings Epic Food Fight and “Slapfest Coup de Grâce”

Get ready for the feuding soap opera divas, when five actresses known for their signature primetime and daytime roles are brought together in Lifetime’s new holiday film, Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas.

Saturday night, December 2nd on Lifetime (8pm ET/7PM CT) marks the highly-anticipated holiday movie premiere featuring: Donna Mills (ex-Knots Landing), Nicolette Sheridan (ex-Knots Landing), Morgan Fairchild (ex-Falcon Crest et al), Linda Gray (ex-Dallas) and Loni Anderson (ex-WKRP in Cincinnati).

Here’s what we do know! In story, five alums from the long-running soap, The Great Lakes reunite for a live Christmas finale. Uh-oh!  Now take a look at the backstory of the colorful cast of characters (pay special attention to the clever twists on the actresses names!)

Photo: Lifetime

LAUREN EWING (Linda Gray) “Everyone thinks I’m so damn good all the time,” confesses the junk food-loving Lauren of her second act as a lifestyle guru. “I don’t know how Gwenyth Paltrow does it!”

DANA CUNNINGHAM (Donna Mills) Now a sitcom mom, she’s yet to make amends to ex-bestie Juliette after abruptly leaving the soap back in the day. Not that she hasn’t tried: “When I thought the world was going to end in Y2K,” Dana says, “I reached out to her, and she never called me back.”

LILY MARLOWE (Loni Anderson) After replacing Dana on ‘Great Lakes’, Lily never again found a role to win her acclaim. “What do I have to show for (my career)? An arc on  For the People – Shonda Rhimes’ only flop!”

JULIETTE MATHESON (Nicollette Sheridan) “She left me for L.A.,” the party girl turned fashion mogul recalls of Dana’s betrayal. Will their feud derail the entire event?

MARGEAUX ROBERTS (Morgan Fairchild) “Fasten your face-lifts, ladies, it’s gonna be a bumpy weekend!” The sassy grande dame of ‘Great Lakes’ sees the Juliette-Dana beef as the perfect escape from her own domestic drama.

Now, making this all the more hysterical is the director of The Great Lakes reunion special, which makes the five women live under the same roof, is its former child star Alex, who has gotten his ex-girlfriend, Nell to direct the finale. Meanwhile, in the subplot. the ‘Ladies of the ’80s’ come up with a plan to get Alex and Nell back together.

As with any good soap opera, there is a major food fight. Linda Gray shared with USA Today ,”The food fight was one take. And it was fabulous.” And of course, their is a bitch-fest slap-fest. Morgan Fairchild revealed, “Oh honey, we all got ours in. Mine was a simple, ‘How dare you?’ with a slap. But I was hoping for a punch.”

The movie’s EP, Larry Thompson, who is a Hollywood manager and has Donna Mills as a client, said that the entire scene peaks with the”slapfest coup de grâce.” What is that exactly? That is when Donna Mills pushes Nicollette Sheridan into a pool in a nod to Dynasty’s Lily bond battle between Dynasty’s Alexis (Joan Collins) and Krystle (Linda Evans).

In case you missed it previously, check out the trailer for Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas below, also starring Patrika Darbo, Alec Mapa, Mills real-life daughter, Chloe Mills, and Christopher Atkins with theme song by Tiffany.

In story, the producer, Alex (Travis Burns) and director Nell (Taylor Ann Thompson), who happen to be old college friends, do their best to keep things on the rails but as the ladies come together, old rivalries resurface that threaten to tear the production apart. With the show nearly canceled before it even begins due to the ladies’ famous diva behavior, they reluctantly agree to set aside their differences and past secrets to “act” as if they all still love each other.  When old sparks reignite between Alex and Nell, the ladies become eager to play cupid and conspire to bring the couple together.

But wait, there’s more! In addition to the five leading ladies, the cast also includes: Days of our Lives favorite Patrika Darbo (ex-Nancy), Alec Mapa, and Donna Mills’ real-life daughter, Chloe Mills, plus 80s heartthrob, Christopher Atkins.

There is even a Ladies of the 80’s theme song, performed by none other than 80’s pop star, Tiffany!

In a statement on the project, the movie’s EP Larry A. Thompson shared: “The opportunity to bring together Donna, Morgan, Loni, Linda and Nicollette, five powerhouse women into one holiday movie, has been like finding the perfect gift under the Christmas tree.”

The official airdate of the holiday movie will be revealed shortly in the networks’s A Wonderful Lifetime Holiday movie schedule. Deadline first shared the news.
