It has been a devastating several hours for fans of TNT’s Dallas as the news spread that the cable network has decided not to pick it up for a fourth season!  Several of the core cast members have taken to social media to express their sadness and convey their thoughts upon hearing the news!

Linda Gray, who played Sue Ellen Ewing, one of the legacy character of Dallas, tweeted, “Thank all of you wonderful fans for your love and support for these past 3 seasons. We were just canceled.  So sad!”

Josh Henderson, who was the driving character of all things Ewing in the Dallas reboot as John Ross, and who is attending the Los Angeles Dodgers National League baseball playoff game took to Intstagram, “When it rains it pours. But GOD is good. I have a message coming to you all very soon. But for now I’m gettin my mind off my recent loss and at the #Dodger game. Love you all. I really do. Thank you all for your amazing love and support. #youguysaremyrock #loveyall #letsgoblue”

Judith Light, who won raves for her stunning portrayal of  the evil Judith Ryland also tweeted her sadness:  “My dear Dallas family u r extraordinary, all of u.  The honor of being & working with all of u has brought great joy 2 my life.  I luv u all”

Julie Gonzalo who played Pamela, the vindictive wife of John Ross tweeted, “Sad day. Thank you for 3 incredible seasons.”  And Jordana Brewster who played Elena, and who also really stirred the pot in season three said, “Very sad day today. I will miss our awesome cast and crew most of all!  Thank you for playing with and watching us for three years!”

So, what do you think about the message from the Dallas cast members ? Touched as much as we were? Which character and performer will you miss the most knowing that TNT’s version of the series is no more? Let us know!

Very sad day.So glad i got to visit the set.The ewings are like family.I hope someone can pick up the series.Love Maiya Cunningham (actress)

ok-
TNT killed Dallas!!
TNT is mostly a rerun network it reruns Law and Order 12 hrs a day..
IF Dallas were on a popular network as ABC. CBS, NBC etc it would never would have been canceled..
Dalas did not belong on a mostly rerun network..

TNT did kill Dallas. I’m really going to miss it. Who’s the baby daddy??????

Whose the babies daddy, does Cliff ever leave prison if Pammy lets him? Who is John Ross` sister, and does Bobby react good or bad to Christophers death are all good cliffhangers we will never determine now !

TNT killed Dallas, but not for the reasons su0000 says. They have several successful non repeat shows (Major Crimes, Rizzoli & Isles…). Their failure was putting it up during the regular TV season. It should have been on in the summer. However, had the show been on a network, it would have failed there even quicker. Sucks that it was canceled, but make a more logical argument.

I TOTALLY AGREE-TNT NEVER APPRECIATED WHAT IT HAD WITH DALLAS! CBS DID. THERE ARE TOO MANY OF THE SAME RERUNS OF THE SAME SHOWS ON TNT. TNT IS USELESS.

I think TNT is a coward for not wanting to do one last season and showing us whatever happened to Christopher Ewing after a wonderful cliff-hanger.
The only hope is if another network would pick Dallas up. Truly, I don’t understand why CBS would not be interested.

Only 1.7 million viewers watching the finale is why CBS would not be interested.

The wrong day of the week competing against some mega ratings winners is what killed it . Monday night football, WWE, and the geek show on CBS are just some of the reasons why ? TNT should have placed it on another nite and it would have survived rather than cancelling it !

Yeah 1.7 but over 4 million after DVR views and it would be much higher on a regular network. TNT is cable everyone forgets. Not everyone has cable.

TNT put the Dallas Finale up against the season premiers of Dancing with the Stars and The Voice – two of the most popular shows on TV. The show did extremely well on Wednesdays, but the decline in viewers happened when it was moved to Monday.

The Orginal Dallas Was On CBS And They Canceled It So No Way They Would Have Had Dallas 2 On

I agree with you all! TNT killed Dallas. It was such a great show! Very sad indeed!

I agree with you, TNT killed Dallas I am not surprised by the cancellation at all. I saw this coming. Please netflix or fox, pick up dallas. This season was great, I loved the show so much.

Sad day!! Definitely will miss John Ross he was a reincarnation of JR!!

For me, the last 15 minutes of the finale turned the show from a very good reboot/continuation to a free-standing show of its own – with new alliances and balances of power. It deserves another season to grow on that theme. But then, it also deserved a better time slot – TNT did little to support the show. I hope the country channel or Netflix or something picks it up. (And I am really going to miss Brenda Strong and Judith Light – two excellent new characters)

I really never cared for Brenda Strong on the show. She just didn’t fit into the character of annie [ Bobby`s wife ] .

If there is a future for DALLAS, I agree it will be on the channels/outlets experimenting with their own programming – like Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and Yahoo (which is making new episodes of COMMUNITY). Remember that DAMAGES also got a couple of extra seasons courtesy of DirecTV.

Judith Light was excellent in her role!!!!!!!!!!!! Loved her!

Judith light is so fantastic I just love her and she is all I will miss about Dallas !

I liked her drawn out wording or language as she spoke !

B.G….YEP!!!!! Most of all, I LOVED how the character of Judith Ryland would T-R-Y to keep BOTH her son (that dastardly Harris) and her granddaughter (that TOTAL TRAIN-WRECK Emma) in line. And, sometimes, Judith EVEN SUCCEEDED…LOL!!!!!

Take care. Peace.

Oh, she is always fantastic! Don’t worry. She’s everywhere. We’ll see her again soon. But, Judith Ryland – yeah, that character was a hoot.

I think one of the reasons the ratings were down is because of the schedule. Why split the season? It should not be broken up. I loved the show and I’m very sorry it won’t be back. TNT should at least bring it back for one more season to wrap everything up! Bad move TNT!

The split season was created for network shows that do not have enough episodes to go from September to May, the traditional television season. So to stretch out the shows, the split season was invented. During November sweeps a drama series will have a mini cliff hanger to be resolved usually during Feb. sweeps. Then the remaining episodes are shown to May with a season cliffhanger for May sweeps.

But these are for shows that have about 20 to 22 episodes–Dallas only had about ten or eleven in a season– not enough to warrant a split season— it should have stayed a summer series, three months equals 12 weeks — perfect for a show that only has that many episodes to begin with.

I don’t know if they would go for a whole season, but at the very least a tv movie to wrap up loose ends would be nice.

Come on! Do a movie to finish out the reboot!

I enjoyed the show immensely ! I watched it when It began from the start back in the early 80`s. I was happy that it was brought back to life or rebirthed as its said. But TNT killed it with the schedule it was placed on. Against some of the other ratings champs that the show competed against should have warranted TNT to move it to a more suitable nite for better viewership. Hopefully another network will pick it up quickly before next season arrives !!!

I watched the entire season until the finale. I had it on my DVR and deleted it after about 20 minutes. I really don’t like all the violence …. Mob stuff. It does not surprise me that it was cancelled. It had great actors but the story line was not of interest to me. I wasn’t going to watch next season anyway.

I will miss all of them equally. Absolutely loved the series. I just wish that I could get to see just how mean John Ross can really become.

It is a sad report that no other television listing will pick up the seasons of Dallas and continue with the seasons, cause I find Dallas to be a great soap. I watched the original one and now the new one and they were both good. I hope that one of the television listing pick up Dallas for it is a great show.

I feel that the cancellation of Dallas is a mistake and that TNT should not have switched the show to Monday nights knowing that the show would be competing with top rated long running shows that already exists and are rated number one. TNT should first try and move Dallas to a day where there is less competition for viewers before they cancel the show entirely. TNT has caused an outrage from loyal Dallas fans and I don’t believe that the outrage is going to stop anytime soon big mistake.
Regina Spann

I agree please bring back fallas

It’s such a travesty !
The Dallas reboot was an excellent show !
I just don’t get TNT’S decision to cancel ????
I’m really hoping it can be picked up by another network.
Other shows in the past have been canceled by one network and been picked up by another.
PLEASE HANG TOUGH !

I wish the cast well. Loved this show. Very disappointed.

BOOOO to TNT!

I thank you for showing that the show like Dallas can be remade, as a fan of Dallas 1 I was alittle skeptical about the show but was hooked after the very first show. My hat off to all of you I will be waiting to see what else you can do. And Judith I remember when you could cry on the spot. Dallas gave everyone to see what a great actress you are. I wish the best for all of you. There is to many shows on the tube that are junk and TNT has made a very big mistake on this cancelation.

I am so sad to see Dallas go. I loved Bobby and Sue Ellen because they were the original characters. I am going to miss the show and I still do not understand why they canceled it. So many supporters that fought to keep it on and it meant nothing to the network. I wish you all well in your new endeavors.

Sad day indeed… Like hearing about the cancellation wasn’t bad enough–reading these messages from the cast is like a dagger in the heart! Sure did love seeing Judith Light in this series…and Josh H was a perfect cast. Can’t wait to see what he does next.

First, White Collar, Longmire and now Dallas! All of the the idiots who make decisions at TNT need to be kicked to the curb!

lol
Not many watch TNT.. it is mostly a rerun station…
I see it as the Law and Order channel LOL
I came across Longmire on Netflix and am watching it there, its very good.
.I never heard of White Collar, Longmire because I never go to TNT..
I’m waiting for Netflix to get all of Dallas will watch it there..

I am very saddened with all of this I really enjoyed watching my favorite show. It was the best drama series of all times.

I cannot believe that Dallas has been canceled! The only show on TV that I watched! It was an amazing, edge of seat, drama that I would not miss from week to week. When this last new season started in August I had it scheduled on my calendar for, I know, what must have been months. Josh Henderson, what an amazing character you were on the show! Loved your acting. If Dallas isn’t coming back I can’t wait to see you in the next of whatever it is you decide to do! So as a Dallas fan, and I watched the Dallas series many years ago, I’m left hanging with questions as to what happened next. Couldn’t wait from one Monday to the next to watch this series. TNT, you should be ashamed of yourselves. I am a very disappointed fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What sweet people the cast of Dallas are to thank the fans, cast & crew for standing with them these past three seasons, and for expressing their own sadness at losing the show we’ve all grown to love with such fierceness.

Takes a lot of class to be in a show that is cancelled (especially one as beloved by fans as Dallas) and still be gracious. Kudos to them all.

And believe me, even though she’s basically the same age as Mitch Pileggi (who played her son!), I’m going to miss Judith Light and her very wicked, amazing character. After all, “Mama like…” 🙂
wolfy

I think Netflix picking it up would be an excellent idea especially if they could include the original series in their line up — what fun that would be- binge watching on old and new Dallas on rainy Saturday afternoon–

Breaking this season in half the way TNT did was a huge mistake. I will miss DALLAS!

I am shocked this show was cancelled. This show was on a lousy night on TNT and should of been moved to another night!! The fan’s are LIVID this show has been cancelled and we want another network to pick it up!! Dallas is adored all over the world. When Jock Ewing died they didn’t think it would last back in the 80des and it did…now that JR has died…this show can and will continue through John Ross…Millions of fans love this show and we want it to continue…..

Yes TNT & CHANNEL 5 (UK) KILLED ‘DALLAS’
Do not despair Josh, Patrick, Linda, Ken and Cast, we are all behind you for it’s return for season 4 under a new and decent network.

Hardly any publicity, day and timing issues also killed it.

Was a faithful Dallas watcher in the 80’s and called my grandma after each show. Wish she was here to have seen the amazing new Dallas. I love the way they keep Jr ‘s legend going and John Ross is his son from tip to tail as he said! I hope a network picks them up instead of another sitcom or dang reality crap. Most of us work hard and enjoy sitting down & watching someting exciting& drama to escape all the reality. TNT u tore our escape away from us. Please someone pick Dallas back up! To all the cast & crew you all did an amazing Dallas come back. Be proud of yourselves & for Larry Hagman!!!! Oil is thicker ghan blood!

I think the CW is the most likely spot for it.

We could start our own petition and send it to all the stations.

Hope they try to find a new home for Dallas and continue elsewhere!

So sad to hear about the cancellation….I really hope another network picks it up! Please!

Loved these past three seasons – really great work on handling the death of JR, the new characters, playing old history, the writing, the pacing… all very good entertainment. I trusted this show even when at times it felt like it didn’t know where it was going – it always did. If it’s not going be picked up, wish they could do a ‘final ep’ to resolve things esp the death of
Christopher Ewing… hate for that to hang in the air….

DEVASTATING! BEST SHOW!!

Yes it is a sad day to fine out that my favorite show Dallas is cancel. They always cancel the best shows and bring the stupid sit com on that is not funny at all. Dallas was great and John Ross was just like his father JR and the rest of the cast was great, so why in the world would they cancel such a great show as this was. I will not be watching TNT anymore if they continue to put such stupid shows on and cancel the good ones.

Loved Dallas. TNT killed Dallas by splitting the season and airing it so late in August when everyone is too busy to watch TV. Linda Gray is amazing and I hope a series picks her up quick!

I am outraged! that Dallas has been cancelled. Guess what TNT, I am DONE !! watching anything on your network. I only hope millions of people will follow suit. Without even trying to schedule Dallas on another evening, you simply decided to cancel it. All for greed ! because you can’t sell your commercials for as much as you think you should. Your programming should be diversified to all age groups. I’m thinking you just offended a whole lot of baby boomers and sooner or later, these advertisers are going to realize that baby boomers still have plenty of purchasing power!

I watch the first Dallas 20 years ago and it was incredibleat that time JR made the show. I’ve always been a huge Larry Hagman fanhe made that show. when JR died in my opinion Josh henderson pretty much took over where he left off which is an incredible undertaking. he’s fantastic playing John Ross he is so good I don’t even miss Jr which is saying a lot for a fan like myself.II think you are all correct in saying that TNT wasn’t worthy of the show also regarding the time slot monday just wasn’t a good day. personally I thought the new writer is incredible. I sure hope another network picks up the show and shows TNT what are you doing mistake they made. the cast is incredible the writers are incredible.I think they can obtain many new viewers if she was familiar with the old show.a newbie Dallas watcher just doesn’t know the concept nor the history which kind of makes it hard to follow. May dallas live on… please! its my favorite show ever there will never be one like it. Sorry TNT you lost another viewer….

We can’t lose our Dallas! The show has been great with good story lines. Someone please pick up the show!

To those clowns at TNT, it’s too bad you didn’t have anyone “capable” in your programming department to be skilled enough to know where a well written, well acted show like Dallas should be placed. If ABC can figure out and keep that mindless “Dancing with the Stars”, you should have been thrilled to have a show like
Dallas. Here’s hoping another network will have the brains you didn’t! Adios !! TNT, I’m outta here – and won’t ever tune your channel in again.

I want TNT to change thier mind and please bring us a season 4 asap or bring it on some other station thanks.

As far as I am concerned, it was Cynthia Cidre, or whoever scripted Christopher’s demise that killed Dallas!

If Jesse wanted out of the show, they should have re-casted the role. Dallas without a Ewing sibling constant one-upsmanship is definitely NOT Dallas!

Shame on the writers and the PTB at TNT for building up the hopes of all the Dallas fans and then pulling the rug out from under us. They OWE us a proper ending. Too many unanswered questions were left for us to ponder.

Come on TNT or any other network, make this right! We at least deserve a proper closure.

I’m glad to see that Josh Henderson has good taste in Baseball teams.

A major network needs to pick the show up!!! This reboot is as good as the original, if not better!!!

just found out Dallas cancelled, that is what happens to all good shows, the writing and acting were super and continued the original Dallas which I watched for years. These days only reality shows make it for some warped reason. This was the only reason I even tuned into TNT and now a good reason to tune it out since the best they had is now cancelled.

I just found out that Dallas has been cancelled and I am devastated. I was so looking forward to the next season to find out the answers to the questions that the final show left us with. I believe that it was a bad time slot for it. Maybe there would have been more viewers had it been on another night. At least, try another time slot!!!!! This show was excellent with some wonderful actors. Please, please bring it back!!!!!!!!

SAVE dallas. My friends and family can not do without the show. I’m watching old episodes this week getting ready for the new season, and just found out that TNT dropped it. Another network NEEDS to pick up the show!!!!!!!!!!!

SAVE dallas. My favorite show!!!!! TNT PLEASE change your mind!!!!!!

I had no Idea… I just watched the final episode of Season 3 the other night & learned of the cancellation. I have sent an email to the CEO of CBS. Let’s face it, Dallas was never given a chance on TNT… I only hope CBS or the CW will pick it up. If not, at least a 4 Hour TV Movie to bring closure to the Ewings.

On another note, I feel exceptionally sad for the original cast member (Linda Gray, Patrick Duffy and Special Guest Star Ken Kercheval) as they have devoted their lives to playing these characters and the networks just turn a blind eye to their hard work and devotion. As Larry Hagman once said, “Dallas is Iconic” and I couldn’t agree any more.

It was ironic for me as an adult to be watching the Show that I loved and watched while I was a Kid.

Thanks Larry Hagman (R.I.P), Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy.

Lifetime’s ‘Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas’ Brings Epic Food Fight and “Slapfest Coup de Grâce”

Get ready for the feuding soap opera divas, when five actresses known for their signature primetime and daytime roles are brought together in Lifetime’s new holiday film, Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas.

Saturday night, December 2nd on Lifetime (8pm ET/7PM CT) marks the highly-anticipated holiday movie premiere featuring: Donna Mills (ex-Knots Landing), Nicolette Sheridan (ex-Knots Landing), Morgan Fairchild (ex-Falcon Crest et al), Linda Gray (ex-Dallas) and Loni Anderson (ex-WKRP in Cincinnati).

Here’s what we do know! In story, five alums from the long-running soap, The Great Lakes reunite for a live Christmas finale. Uh-oh!  Now take a look at the backstory of the colorful cast of characters (pay special attention to the clever twists on the actresses names!)

Photo: Lifetime

LAUREN EWING (Linda Gray) “Everyone thinks I’m so damn good all the time,” confesses the junk food-loving Lauren of her second act as a lifestyle guru. “I don’t know how Gwenyth Paltrow does it!”

DANA CUNNINGHAM (Donna Mills) Now a sitcom mom, she’s yet to make amends to ex-bestie Juliette after abruptly leaving the soap back in the day. Not that she hasn’t tried: “When I thought the world was going to end in Y2K,” Dana says, “I reached out to her, and she never called me back.”

LILY MARLOWE (Loni Anderson) After replacing Dana on ‘Great Lakes’, Lily never again found a role to win her acclaim. “What do I have to show for (my career)? An arc on  For the People – Shonda Rhimes’ only flop!”

JULIETTE MATHESON (Nicollette Sheridan) “She left me for L.A.,” the party girl turned fashion mogul recalls of Dana’s betrayal. Will their feud derail the entire event?

MARGEAUX ROBERTS (Morgan Fairchild) “Fasten your face-lifts, ladies, it’s gonna be a bumpy weekend!” The sassy grande dame of ‘Great Lakes’ sees the Juliette-Dana beef as the perfect escape from her own domestic drama.

Photo: Lifetime

Now, making this all the more hysterical is the director of The Great Lakes reunion special, which makes the five women live under the same roof, is its former child star Alex, who has gotten his ex-girlfriend, Nell to direct the finale. Meanwhile, in the subplot. the ‘Ladies of the ’80s’ come up with a plan to get Alex and Nell back together.

As with any good soap opera, there is a major food fight. Linda Gray shared with USA Today ,”The food fight was one take. And it was fabulous.” And of course, their is a bitch-fest slap-fest. Morgan Fairchild revealed, “Oh honey, we all got ours in. Mine was a simple, ‘How dare you?’ with a slap. But I was hoping for a punch.”

Photo: Lauren Dukoff/Lifetime

The movie’s EP, Larry Thompson, who is a Hollywood manager and has Donna Mills as a client, said that the entire scene peaks with the”slapfest coup de grâce.” What is that exactly? That is when Donna Mills pushes Nicollette Sheridan into a pool in a nod to Dynasty’s Lily bond battle between Dynasty’s Alexis (Joan Collins) and Krystle (Linda Evans).

In case you missed it previously, check out the trailer for Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas below, also starring Patrika Darbo, Alec Mapa, Mills real-life daughter, Chloe Mills, and Christopher Atkins with theme song by Tiffany.
