Will the new season ofThe Real Housewives of Beverly Hills become the best soap opera on TV?

Well, we are about to find out when Daytime Emmy winner, Eileen Davidson of The Young and the Restless and Days of our Lives, and former DAYS star Lisa Rinna make their debut with the cast of the other “Bev Hils” elite gals which include: Yolanda Foster, Brandi Glanville, Kim Richards, Kyle Richards and Lisa Vanderpump! It all begins tonight, November 18th beginning at 9PMET/8PMCST only on Bravo!

And for those who need a catch-up, here is where we are at from the end of last season:  After a sudden and secret departure from Puerto Rico at the end of last season, Lisa Vanderpump is still wary of her formerly close friends, but is beginning to reconnect with Yolanda and Kyle. She has no interest in making amends with Brandi, who is also struggling to move past her own hurt. The ladies all come face-to-face at Kyle’s annual White Party and the over-the-top event is bigger and better than ever now that Mauricio’s real estate agency is selling houses upwards of $50 million. The social event of the season brings original Beverly Hills housewives Adrienne Maloof, Camille Grammer and Taylor Armstrong back together. As unresolved issues come to the surface, Brandi is faced with making amends with both Lisa and Adrienne at the same event.   So just how will Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson figure into all of this?

Watch the trailer from the new season of RHOBH after the jump, and then let us know if you will be watching Eileen and Lisa tonight?

I’ve never watched a “Housewives” show before, but will give this a shot tonite.

Will NOT be watching this immature cess pool.

I will watch whatever Eileen is in. I’ll give it a shot too.

that trailer was very deceiving..
The drunk bitches were not slapping each other or berating their husbands and they were not in their sluttly gear out drinking and fighting and stabbling each other in the back ..
I feel sorry for , Eileen..

Now to keep up she will need a ton of botox, boob and butt job and lots of hair extensions.. lol

I will check it out but I’m afraid it has to dvr sons of anarchy is on 3 left for its final ride going to really miss that show I also watch Chicago fire tonight .

SOA, that made me think of Katey..
Married with Children / Peggy Bundy-
Peggy is the perfect stereotype of a The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fan ..
LOL

I didn’t see Eileen last night but Lisa Rinna was great. She has such moxie, such confidence. Beverly Hills Housewives was the best franchise for several years, last year it was not as good. I think Brandi ruined last year and hope she is moved to the sidelines.
I encourage soap fans to watch, it is easy to get hooked.

I’m watching for Lisa Rinna

Eileen Davidson is a plus

I will never watch a housewives show… except for this one… and thats only for these two

i’m interested in the how will these two co’mingle, cohabitate, spar, mingle, frontline, their gobetween

these two ladies need to shove all else aside and OWN

LOL

it’s a hoot

laugh out loud

brain freeze feast

the bottom line… these ladies need to make a living… and they have the resume to shelve… top of the line… top shelve… bring themselves

LOL

I love Eileen and Lisa

Days perseveres

Well, there’s an hour of my life I’ll never get back. I’ve never seen any of the other Housewives of whatever, and wasn’t sure what to expect, but that will be the first and last time I do. Eileen (who was the only reason I tuned in) was not on the show, and the entire hour was spent on these airhead women talking about each other behind their backs. I couldn’t tell any of them apart, they all had the same superficial look. Lisa Rinna was on for a short time, but she seemed to be hamming it up for the camera the entire time and not the least little bit natural, she was just as phoney as the others. I kept waiting for something to actually happen, but after an hour, nothing did except a party that screamed conspicuous consumption. Not my cup of tea at all.

How was it? I may watch on demand just to see Eileen. I still wonder why she’s doing it. They must be paying her a ton of money (I hope).

Out of all the Housewive’s shows, I like this one the best, however, last evening I really watched it to see Eileen Davidson. I have been an Ashley Abbott fan since the early 80s. I think it stinks that BRAVO did not show Eileen in the premier episode. What’s worse, they neglected to mention this prior to last evening. I was very disappointed! Now I’m hearing that she won’t be on the show until the 3rd show of the season and I had to do some fierce googling to find that out! Why isn’t BRAVO being more forthcoming? It would stand to reason that Eileen is stretched thin between DOOL and Y and R but they should have told us!!! I’m angry and not even sure I am going to watch the rest of the season. Lastly, send that drunken Taylor away for good! UGH!

Maybe I won’t watch then if Eileen isn’t on the premiere. Have never watched any of the housewife shows. It’s all composed.

I have to laugh at some of the comments on here.

I’ve been watching soaps since the mid 70’s and have listened to non soap watchers trash soaps the way a lot of you trash the Housewives shows.

Sorry to tell you all…they really are no better than each other.

It’s entertainment folks. Get off you high horses. Soaps are still making bad names for themselves when they get clips on the Soup. It is what it is.

Dear Pat, Well, I had to laugh when I read your comment.
You say the reality housewife show is no worse than soaps?
Well, the former genre professes to be real but is really staged and yet, there are no writers because, see? It’s a “reality” show. (wink, wink). The latter genre does have writers and makes no pretense to be real–soaps are clearly fiction.
Good soap writing has elements of greatness in it. To this day, you can illicit a tear from an AMC watcher by mentioning Jenny’s death or garner the same reaction from a OLTL by mentioning Megan’s death. GH? That would be BJ’s heart transplant storyline, of course. Romanticism was elevated to great heights with the marriage of Nina and Cliff and of course, Luke and Laura’s wedding. With these aforementioned stories, there were timeless elements of greatness which viewers found inspiring. In five years will anyone remember the insane cat fight between two housewives? No, and moreover, I feel this reality housewife franchise sets women back by showcasing and rewarding abhorrent behavior. It seems the smuttier, the raunchier, the meaner and the most classless prevail and none of these ahem, “ladies,” ever seem to pick a book or much less a newspaper.
At least soaps know they inhabit the land of fiction and at least they have an inherent sense of humility.
I think trashy reality shows such as the housewife franchise signal the end of civility and good manners.

Totally agree. Great post!

I’m a former soap watcher, just one soap off And on but I stopped watching four of five years ago. I was bored to death with the same old stories told in ever increasing drab fashion. Too many scenes shot in hospital corridors, actors wearing drab clothes, any sense of glamour ended with budget cuts. I loved the first few seasons of Housewives of BH , the cast was terrific. Scenes shot in Malibu, Beverly Hills, Paris, Hawaii, no expense was spared. Last season things got old and I felt Brandi ruined the show. I’m hoping for a great season with Lisa Rinna, Eileen and the cast minus Brandi.
I think soap fans know reality shows hastened the death of their soaps and therefore they resent reality TV. I say give this show a chance. You will get hooked and love it.
And the Atlanta housewives are a hoot, they are currently airing a new season as well.

Well I watched, but would like a refund! Eileen was on for less than one minute.

I have never watched any of the REAL WIVES, but I taped it to see Eileen…obviously disappointed as she was not even featured. The show does not interest me at all. As the season opener, I expected more content…. it was worse than I expected. I still cannot believe Eileen even greed to do this awful show??! Very much a he step down….

LIsa Rinna will do anything to get her face on tv and make a few dollars! In fact given the shows she has recently done, it’s a step up…. for her. She is a terrible actress.

Watching the show and comparing it to our daytime shows, merely for entertainment value alone, has reinforced my initial feeling that these shows are just a waste of time. I’ll save my DVR space….sorry Eilleen…I love you but can’t watch this mindless garbage… even for you! See you on Y&R…

Are you sure this show is not fictional? I have never watched any of the Real Housewives franchisee shows, including RHOBH. After reading your “bring you up to date” section of this article I decided to keep my never watched record intact. I get enough drama on Days of Our Lives! But I do see why Eileen and Lisa were brought in. The franchisee wanted veteran soap stars to show the other ladies how it is done! Too much for me, though! Wish Eileen and Lisa well.

Lisa Rinna Would Be Down to Reprise Her Role of Taylor McBride in ‘Melrose Place’ Reboot

When Lisa Rinna departed her popular role of Billie Reed on Days of our Lives back in 1995, her next major role would be a jump to primetime and the soapy Melrose Place.

In 1996, Lisa was introduced as new character Taylor McBride and stayed with the Fox young adult sudser for three seasons. Now in 2024, with the recent reveal that a Melrose Place revival is the works with Heather Locklear, Daphne Zuniga and Laura Leighton all on board to reprise their signature roles, would Rinna board the project should it come to fruition?

Speaking with PEOPLE, Rinna expressed, “Well, gosh, I’ve heard about it. I haven’t been approached or anything, but I would love to see what Taylor McBride is up to 25 years later. Wouldn’t that be something?”

Photo: FOX

OG Melrose Place fans know that in story, Taylor moved to the Melrose Place apartment building with her husband Kyle played by Rob Estes. However, Taylor had her eye on Dr. Peter Burns played by former GH star Jack Wagner (ex-Frisco). But, by the time she had moved to the apartment complex, Peter had married tough as nails ad executive, Amanda Woodward, played by Heather Locklear.

Recalling her time on Melrose Place, Rinna added that it, “was one of my greatest and most fun acting experiences, playing Taylor and working with Heather and the whole crew.”  Rinna also noted, “So if they need a Taylor McBride appearance, they know who to call. I’m around.”

The new Melrose Place is in development at CBS Studios. In the premise of the reboot, the Melrose Place residents reunite after the death of one of their friends, “but the pressure cooker of a reunion soon uncovers old traumas, rekindles old romances, reignites old resentments, and reveals new secrets… throwing our characters into chaotic drama that’s reminiscent of the past, but with a much more modern perspective.”

So, would you want to see Lisa Rinna reprise her Melrose Place role as Taylor McBride? Comment below.

Kristian Alfonso Returns to Days of our Lives for Tribute to The Late Bill Hayes

After a few weeks of Days of our Lives fans being upset that Kristian Alfonso (Hope Williams) was not on the first list of initial returns for Doug Williams’ funeral and episodes honoring his portrayer, the late Bill Hayes, comes word that the popular star is back and taping scenes.

Kristian reported to work on the Peacock streaming soap opera on Monday, April 22nd. She shared how important it is for her to be back for this particular return to the show that made her a household name.

“My return is very bittersweet,” Alfonso told TV Insider,  “because it is the end of an era with Bill gone. So to return to Days is very sad. I am appreciative that they came to me to include me in their series of shows honoring Doug and I’m very happy to see everyone, but I’m entering the studio with a heavy heart.”

Photo: JPI

It was back in 1983 that Kristian first debuted as Doug’s daughter, and now 41 years later looking back at it, and her time with Bill Hayes is very emotional for her.

“I remember my first scenes with him/ He was very loving, very welcoming. That he was very talented and an incredible actor and an icon, that all goes without saying, but my personal relationship and my working relationship with Bill, it was home,” expressed Alfonso. “Doing the scenes with Bill, I felt like I was with my dad because there was so much warmth and reality.”

Photo: JPI

Alfonso did express some deep regret, in that she had wanted to work with Bill Hayes during her last appearance on the soap back in 2023, but according to the iconic actress, there was something in the works but it never materialized.  “I’m sad that I did not get the opportunity to do the storyline that Ron (Carlivati, head writer) had planned/ It was great; we returned to Salem to reunite with our families and I would have had father/daughter scenes with Billy. What Ron had written was beautiful and emotional and it was a fantastic story. I was 100 percent for it and the fans would have loved it.”

Photo: JPI

As for if Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope will be back on-screen together anytime soon, Kristian would only say, “What I will say is don’t give up hope.” Doug’s passing and memorial episodes will stream later this year come late November into December.

So, are you happy to learn that Kristian Alfonso is back taping episodes surrounding Doug’s memorial episodes? Comment below.
