Daisy tells Sharon she went to Fairview under a fake name to escape from Ricky. Daisy is surprised when Sharon tells her that Ricky is dead. Sharon tells a suspicious Daisy that she is only staying at Fairview temporarily. Daisy tries to tell the doctors that she checked in to escape from Ricky, while Sharon pretends to have no idea who Daisy is. Tucker tries to visit Sharon but learns that he can’t see her until she is released. Sharon lies about her stealing to Dr. Laurents and claims she is just trying to prove that Victor’s family is wrong about her. Sharon tries to sleep in the ward to escape her stress and has a nightmare about the night of Faith’s birth. Later, Daisy pleads with Dr. Laurents to release her.

Paul and Heather are puzzled by why Ricky would’ve bought something as sentimental as the snow globe. Avery arrives and informs Paul that his trial date is fast approaching and that finding Ricky’s video is their first priority. Paul discovers Ricky’s flash drive hidden in the snow globe. Heather calls Michael so he can see the evidence. Michael tells them that they should have waited for him to get there before breaking the globe as they all sit down to watch the video. Everyone is stunned to find that the only video is of Ricky claiming that if something happens to him the authorities should look to Paul.

Tucker and Billy toast to the mutual benefits they’re enjoying because of Victor’s absence. In Los Angeles, Genevieve is able to cover for her lack of medical expertise when Victor asks her to help a dockworker with a broken arm. Victor promises that he’ll help the dockworker get his job back. Blaukowski, the bartender, dismisses Genevieve’s attempts to get a job and Sister Celeste suggests that Genevieve leave town. Victor rally’s the dockworkers to fight for their rights and to stand up for Norm who got hurt on the job. Victor takes Norm to the hospital while one of the other dock workers plots against him.

Victoria is excited to be running Newman Enterprises again, while Nick reminds her that Sharon is only temporarily out. Victoria rehires Nick and prepares a document that protects both of them from being fired without approval from the Board. Tucker is forced to sign the document so as not to blow his cover. Later, Nick tells Victoria that Newman stock is already on the rise. Billy returns and Victoria shares her worries about Victor’s absence. Billy prepares to tell her what he knows about Victor.

Paul, Heather, Avery, and Michael continue to watch the video of Ricky as he says that Paul was trying to make it look like he was crazy. Everyone regrets showing Michael the video as Ricky tells his audience that he just wanted to get to know Paul and that he hopes this video will show people the truth. Avery and Heather try to suggest that the video can’t be used in court but Michael tells them he can’t ignore it. Paul is devastated that Ricky would go to such lengths to ruin his life. Heather apologizes for calling Michael before they knew what was on the tape. Avery and Heather agree that if the video gets to a jury, it will mean bad news for Paul.

Lauren is confident that she has to come forward about her giving Paul the gun he used to kill Ricky. Michael is opposed to the idea and he tries to convince Lauren not to throw herself under the bus for Paul, knowing it may not be enough to save him. Jack senses that something is bothering Sarge. Sarge tells Jack he lost a friend in the World Trade Center eleven years earlier. Jack takes Sarge’s words to heart and invites his family over for dinner.

Billy starts to tell Victoria what he knows about Victor’s whereabouts, but she interrupts before he can share what he knows. Billy believes she may be better off without Victor in her life but Victoria says she would rather have her father back than her dream job at Newman. Later at the Abbott mansion, everyone is overjoyed when they see Jack only needing a cane to walk. Jack toasts his family as the Abbott clan celebrates Jack’s improvement. Victoria shares that she believes Victor will be back any day. Abby states that the Abbotts are a tough breed and Kyle tells Jack that he is very proud to be his son. Billy and Victoria head home and make love. Lauren and Gloria accuse Jeffrey of only wanting a relationship with Chelsea because of her money. Chelsea and Adam agree to keep her pregnancy a secret until the first trimester is over. Kevin and Chloe arrive and toast the success of their business with Adam and Chelsea. When Chelsea gets a wave of nausea and opts not to drink the champagne, Chloe’s suspicions about Chelsea being pregnant are confirmed. Later at Crimson Lights, Chloe spills the beans about Chelsea’s pregnancy. Jeffrey and Gloria decide to pay Chelsea a visit. Adam dismisses a call from a reporter who is looking for a comment about Sharon. Adam tells Chelsea he is glad that Nick and Victoria are dealing with Newman Enterprises as he just wants to focus on her. Gloria and Jeffrey drop by for a visit. Adam and Chelsea are surprised to see a tiny flicker of sincerity in Jeffrey. Back at their house, Kevin finds a note from Chloe saying she has a surprise for him. Chloe returns with a pizza and a new puppy.

Neil and Harmony joke about all the mishaps they keep having on their dates together. They invite Sarge to join them for their dinner. Harmony and Neil learn that Sarge does not have any kids and notice his somber attitude. Neil and Harmony discuss their history and when Harmony says something about where she is from, Sarge seems effected by it. As everyone is preparing to leave, Sarge confuses Harmony when he asks about Pittsburgh. He abruptly leaves as she sits wondering what he meant.

Summer notices an awkward moment between Phyllis and Nick as she leaves to meet Fenmore at Crimson Lights. Nick questions Phyllis about Ronan’s intentions. Kevin arrives and Nick apologizes that Kevin had to get dragged into the mess with Tim. Nick leaves to bring Summer her phone, while Phyllis tells Kevin about her fake affair with Ronan. They both are concerned that Michael is close to discovering the truth.

Michael doesn’t buy Ronan’s story about the affair and reiterates that all the evidence points towards Phyllis and Kevin. Michael updates Avery on the affair story as Fen arrives to borrow cash from Michael. Michael tells Avery that Ronan has never been the type of person to fall in love. Meanwhile, Beth is thrilled as she receives a package from Tim, while Ronan is on a call confirming that Beth got the package. Later, Michael meets with Kevin and pleads with him to tell him the truth for his and Chloe’s sake but Kevin keeps his secrets.  Ronan goes to see Phyllis and tells her that he sent Beth a plane ticket and money that she believes is from Tim. Phyllis is puzzled by why Ronan is going to such great lengths to protect her. She asks Ronan what his motives are for helping her but he dances around the real answer. Avery arrives and tells Phyllis she is doing terrible things to her marriage and Phyllis is bothered by her accusations. When Avery pushes the issue, Phyllis kicks her out.

At Crimson Lights, Nick offers to buy Fenmore and Summer concert tickets but Fen is nervous since Michael and Phyllis are at odds. Nick reminds them both that it is important to keep the people you care about close to you regardless of the circumstances. Fen tells Summer that she can talk to him about anything. Summer assumes something and demands to know what Fen is referring to. Fen confesses that he heard that Phyllis is having an affair with Ronan. Phyllis is stunned when Summer comes home and asks if she is cheating on Nick.

Nick remains closed off when Michael asks him about the affair. Michael says that he is only trying to help and that everyone is making things worse for themselves. Michael hears about Beth’s disappearance and is furious. Michael tells Ronan he is going to put a gag order on Beth before she does another interview. Avery arrives to discuss Paul but Michael is too focused on the mess with Phyllis. Nick questions Ronan as to why he is being so helpful if Phyllis and him are lying about the affair. Ronan tells Nick he is helping Phyllis because he wants to be with her.  Eden and Kyle catch up while Kevin and Chloe show them pictures of their new dog. Chloe asks Nick about Kevin’s partnership with Phyllis, while Nick is bothered that he has to keep up with Phyllis’ lies. At the Abbott mansion, Eden and Kyle open up with one another about their complicated history with their parents. Things heat up and Kyle takes Eden upstairs to his room. Later, Kevin tells Chloe he helped move Tim’s body. Chloe is upset that she also has to keep the secret and angrily walks out.

Summer is devastated when Phyllis tells her about the “affair”. Phyllis is mad that Michael allowed Fenmore to overhear his conversation. Summer is stunned to find out that Nick knows too. At Crimson Lights, Ronan confesses his feelings about Phyllis to a furious Nick. Ronan blocks Nick from punching him, as Nick warns him to stay away from Phyllis. Nick heads home as Summer storms out and they run into each other in the hallway. While Nick tries to stay calm about the situation, Summer runs out. Nick is livid that Phyllis put their daughter in this position. Phyllis explains that telling Summer the truth about Tim would be far worse than the lie she is telling. Nick tells Phyllis about Ronan’s confession and then says he is leaving to go and stay at the ranch.

At Crimson Lights, Fen tries to be supportive of Summer, but she wants to lash out and the two go running out on mission. Phyllis looks for Summer and runs into Billy. He tries to get a story out of her and she throws a drink into his face. Phyllis threatens to come after Billy if he mentions her or Summer on Restless Style TV. Later, Summer tries to spike her and Fen’s coffees with vodka but Ronan catches them. Ronan takes Summer back to the penthouse and tells Phyllis she should be grateful that he didn’t have Summer arrested.

In Los Angeles, Victor is wary of Genevieve but begins to let his guard down. He confesses that he feels like he has left people behind but cannot remember who. Genevieve calls Tucker and tells him that she thinks Victor may need help and is suffering from memory loss. Tucker tells her to continue what she is doing. Genevieve forgets her phone on the table in front of Victor.  At the Athletic Club, Nikki is thankful to see Jack out of his wheelchair. Jack tells Katherine and Nikki he thinks Victor may be with Genevieve who is also out of town. Nikki sees Ronan arrive and questions why he hasn’t had any leads on Victor. A distracted Ronan tells her to make an appointment. Katherine finds Genevieve’s phone number and gives it to Nikki. Nikki calls Genevieve’s phone but no one answers.

Victor questions Genevieve about the “Nikki Newman” that he saw on her caller ID, but she says she’s just a friend of hers. Later, Victor tries to rally the dock workers and one of them pulls Victor aside and tells him to stop causing trouble or someone will get hurt. Jack tells Tucker and Sofia about his purchasing Newman stock and his filing with the SEC. Sofia worries that Tucker will get in trouble for buying up too much stock. Nikki shares her concerns about Victor’s absence with Katherine. They leave as Katherine bumps into Tucker. She confesses that she wishes there was someway to know if Victor was alright, while Tucker continues to keep his secret about Victor’s whereabouts.

Victoria tells Billy that Jack is buying up Newman stock and wonders what his plans could be. Jack visits Victoria at Victor’s office and he tells her to watch out for Tucker. She thanks him for the heads up and informs him that she’ll be keeping an eye on him as well. Nick stops by and informs Victoria that he’ll be staying at the tack house. Later, Jack tells Billy about his conversation with Victoria and how he is confident that Victor will come back.

At the institution, Sharon has another bad dream about Faith and worries that her nightmares will cause Dr. Laurents to question her sanity. Dr. Laurents assures Sharon that he doesn’t intend to jump to any conclusions. Sharon tells him that there is no one more paranoid than Nick and Victoria and that she believes they’ve set her up. Dr. Laurents believes Sharon has a firm grasp on reality and Sharon asks him to release her so she can go run her company.

Ronan tells Phyllis about Summer’s attempts to drink. Phyllis tries to reprimand her, but Summer storms off. An angry Phyllis questions Ronan about what he told Nick. Ronan is honest about his feelings as Phyllis apologizes for freaking out. Phyllis calls Nick to tell him about Summer’s incident and that any other cop other than Ronan would’ve had her arrested. Phyllis apologizes to Ronan for lashing out at him as Daniel walks in. Daniel confronts Phyllis and lets her know that Summer told him what’s happening. He asks Phyllis if she plans on destroying her entire family.  Nick goes to work out at the club and runs into Nikki. She senses he is bothered and he tells her he is moving back to the ranch. Nikki confesses her worries about Victor’s absence, but Nick tries to reassure her that Victor will come home when he is ready. Later, Nikki asks Billy to help her find Victor.

Victoria puts the stockholders at ease as Billy texts Genevieve to check in on Victor. Billy heads out while Nick tells Victoria how Phyllis continually refuses to fully trust him and that he doesn’t know if he can continue to put up with it. Summer arrives and tries to blame her bad behavior on Phyllis. Nick reminds her of the trouble that Cassie got into with underage drinking. Summer is angry that she is the only one being punished as Nick takes her back to Phyllis’s penthouse.  Nick and Summer head back to the penthouse as Daniel leaves in frustration. Summer runs upstairs as Phyllis tries to reach out to an angry Nick. Nick tells Phyllis all of his frustrations about her lack of trust in him and tells her that he still plans on moving out. Summer tells Phyllis that if Nick moves out, she will never forgive her. Heather comforts Daniel about his frustrations with his family. Later, Daniel and Heather make love and he tells her that together they can get through anything.

Victor warns Moran, the dockworker not to threaten him. Sister Celeste tells Victor not to get his hopes up about changing things at the docks. Victor’s instinctive knowledge of business affairs startles him. Sister Celeste warns against taking action but Victor is fired up by the cause. Moran overhears their conversation and plots against Victor. Later, Victor is found beaten up. He tells Genevieve and Sister Celeste that he doesn’t want to go to the hospital in fear that his past will come pack to haunt him. Sister Celeste watches as Genevieve helps Victor with his hand. Genevieve and Sister Celeste try to get Victor to leave town for his own safety but he refuses.

Sharon tells Dr. Laurents she has a child that needs her and a company to run. He tells Sharon that he needs to follow protocol before he can release her. He exits as Daisy begs Sharon to tell the doctor who she really is. Sharon reluctantly admits that Daisy is telling the truth about who she really is. Dr. Laurents leaves as he tells a frustrated Daisy that he’ll speak to her during their session. Daisy tells Sharon that the doctors are trying to give her meds but she hasn’t been taking them. Daisy gets her fingerprints taken to confirm her identity and begs Sharon to tell Daniel that she is alive once Sharon is released. Daisy takes a bunch of pills with the hope of being sent to the hospital to escape.

Nick goes back to the office to see Victoria and updates her on the situation with Summer. They are both stunned when Sharon arrives and declares that she is back.  Ronan receives news that Daisy is alive!

Y&R’s Eileen Davidson Delivers the ‘Power Performance of the Week’

Taking on a DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) storyline on the soaps can be extraordinarily challenging for the performer who is tasked with making a clear distinction and delineation between the various alters of their character.

However, the other trick to playing this kind of story, is often having the various alters trying to hide the fact from those they know and love of what is truly going on with them, so as not to tip them off, as to what is happening to them as they battle for control of a person’s psyche.

The gold standard is One Life to Live icon Erika Slezak’s (ex-Viki) Emmy-winning and gut-wrenching and riveting DID storyline where we met Tori, Niki (although we met her earlier in the life of the show), Tommy, Princess, Jean and even her father, Victor.

Photo: JPI

Now in 2024, The Young and the Restless’ Eileen Davidson is playing out a new DID storyline for the first time as Ashley Abbott. We knew decades ago that Ashley had a breakdown and has suffered psychological issues, but this has taken it to a new level. And, let’s be real, if you are going to give someone currently on a soap a DID story, who better than Davidson, who is used to playing multiple characters at one time as she did on Days of our Lives. Although on DAYS, each of the characters were their own distinct person, while now on Y&R, Ashley’s alters are fighting for control of her being,

Last week, on the Thursday, April 12th episode of the CBS soap opera, Davidson truly got to shine, as in front of the Abbott family and through what was supposed to be an intervention (they hadn’t figure out what the hell was happening to her), Ashley was flipping from alter to alter. We know there is Ms. Abbott, and Ash thus far, but there is said to be one more alter a-coming.

Photo: JPI

In the key scenes, Davidson’s internal struggle was played pretty masterfully in a scene where she literally is in a tug of war with her alters and flings herself on the couch, while Jack (Peter Bergman), Diane (Susan Walters), Billy (Jason Thompson) and Traci (Beth Maitland) look on. Of course, there are the soap trope scenes of alters in handcuffs while the other is on the loose. And leave it to Billy to figure out Ashley is suffering from DID from his past experience.

Photo: JPI

While this all seemed to spring from Ashley’s messy relationship with Tucker (Trevor St. John) and a throw back to an old car accident where she lost her unborn baby, is there some other underlying issue in Ashley’s past that was even more traumatizing that will be revealed as another trigger for this massive personality split? We shall see.

Photo: JPI

In the meantime, Michael Fairman TV names Eileen Davidson’s work the Power Performance of the Week, and rest assured, come 2025, Davidson will find herself going for the third Daytime Emmy win as Lead Actress for this storyline.

So, let us know, what did you think of Eileen’s performance? Are you enjoying Ashley’s DID storyline? What do you think will happen to her next? Comment below.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL: “Sugar Sugar! Oh, Honey Honey”

The Bold and the Beautiful revealed at the end of the Friday April 13th episode what many viewers had guessed, that it wasn’t Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) who died when Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) stabbed her, but it had to her doppelgänger, Sugar, or at least it seems that way.

Deacon (Sean Kanan) has been beside himself since seeing what was supposed to be Sheila’s body being cremated, but revealing the body had ten toes and not nine, and we all know Sheila had cut off her toe, so she only had nine.

While explaining his thoughts that she is alive to Finn (Tanner Novlan) and then trying later to explain to Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), Deacon is more convinced that something is wrong here. Meanwhile, Finn went to talk to Steffy about Deacon’s theory, which stuns her, as she believed she killed Sheila in self-defense.

Courtesy/CBS

At Il Giardino, Deacon looks at his phone then slams it down. He flashes back to the body going into the crematorium oven saying to himself, “Maybe I’m not going crazy. Maybe that wasn’t you. And if that wasn’t you, maybe you’re out there. Maybe you need my help.”

Deacon gets on Sheila’s laptop and tries to find something that might help him figure out where Sheila has gone. He looks at her text message communications and sees a section from an unknown number. He opens the messages, and Deacon reads that they’re from someone named “Sugar.”  That person said she was going to find Sheila. In the messages, Sheila made it clear she wanted no part of her. But it could be that Sheila met up with Sugar, or was forced too?

Courtesy/CBS

In a quick history lesson about the character of Sugar: she was originally played by Robin Mattson on B&B, and was a former prison warden who helped Sheila escape and then joined her in kidnapping Ridge Forrester to hold him for ransom. A twisted plot ensued, where flames engulfed the foundry they were at and Ridge was presumed dead. Meanwhile, Sheila and Sugar disappeared with Massimo and Sheila’s baby, Diana.

Photo: JPI

Fast forward to 2006, Sheila returned to Genoa City to go after Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman) again and was arrested for attacking Scott Grainger (Peter Barton). In a shocker, when Lauren went to visit Sheila in the slammer, she learned that the woman behind bars was actually Sugar, who had been given plastic surgery and now looks exactly like Sheila.

Now the questions become, did Sheila know that Sugar was going to attack Steffy? Did they have a plan and it went awry, or was Sheila hoping she could get rid of both Sugar and Steffy, by having her daughter-in-law sent to prison for her “murder”? Or, is Sheila out there somewhere in trouble?

Share your theories via the comment section below, and if you knew all along that it would be revealed that Sugar is the person who actually died and not Sheila. But first, check out next week on B&B where Deacon gets a visit from Lauren.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Drew and Nina Get Physical; Were You Surprised or Did You Expect it to Happen?

On the Tuesday, April 9th episode of General Hospital, Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) explosive relationship just turned up the heat another notch.

In story, Nina who was responsible (although she doesn’t see it that way) for Drew being sent to prison for insider trading when she tipped off the SEC, let out her feelings to him about how to get back in the good graces of her daughter, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Michael (Chad Duell). In doing so, she asks him for his help with it.

For months, the two have had nothing short of contentious moments, where Drew has not let Nina off the hook for what he did to him, or to his ex Carly (Laura Wright). Fast-forward and when alone in the Crimson office, Nina brings up wanting to stick it to Carly again.

Photo: ABC

As they banter back and forth, Drew can’t figure out why he should help Nina at all with any of her manipulations. Suddenly, as he tried to exit, his shirt rips and exposes his bare chest and abs, and Nina get quite an eyeful. From there, things become physical and before you know it, Drew and Nina are making out and having their version of hate-sex.

Courtesy/ABC

Cameron Mathison spoke to Soap Opera Digest on the shocking turn events, sharing, “I didn’t see it coming at all. I really didn’t. I think the audience did. Cynthia did some appearances and I guess the audience was ‘You and Drew, there’s some sexy chemistry there.’ I was like, ‘Wait, what? Really?’ I didn’t even get it. So I love it that it was very unexpected. The writers saw it, too. And, I love that it’s not a typical way for two people to be … physical. I was gonna say intimate, but there’s not a lot of intimacy there. And then as soon as it’s over, it’s back to arguing and giving each other crap again. It was really cute and really well done.”

As the fallout for their office room romp will air on the Wednesday April 10th episode, just how will the two deal with the fact that they had this fiery passionate moment in the weeks and months ahead? Will this be Nina’s new plot to get at Carly to be seen with her ex? Will Drew and Nina never speak of this again? (Well, this is a soap opera, after all, that’s pretty doubtful), or is this part of a major reset for some of the characters on the canvas now that Patrick Mulcahey and Elizabeth Korte are co-head writing the show?

Courtesy/ABC

Speaking on the aftermath of the tryst, Mathison added, “The two of them are both like, all right, let’s forget about that and move on. It’s like a weird kind of aggression attraction. There’s obviously attraction there, but I don’t think either of them expected it, and I think they’re both totally shocked and surprised by it. I think Drew gets a kick out of it whereas Nina is a little embarrassed by it.”

Now let us know, did you see this coming? Did you think Drew and Nina would have sex? What do you think of the story turn? Comment below.
