41st Daytime Emmy’s – Fashion Review

EMMY FASHION REVIEW
By Lauren Koslow
Special Fashion Contributor On-Air On-Soaps

Hey Onliners!! It’s Emmy Fashion review time again!

The 2014 Daytime Emmy Red Carpet was the site of…um, some controversy this year. Times change, trends rule & rules are made to be broken. And I DO like a blast of spontaneity-why not?! We can even take “serious” down a notch. But let’s keep the style mantra of fashion doyenne Lynn Wyatt in mind: “Class with a dash of sass but never trash.” Just saying…

So, I’m here to talk fashion…and in general, the fashion was pretty fabulous. There appears to be a transition in the style of the ceremony and some of the sartorial choices reflected the less formal atmosphere of the event. Only time will tell if this formally black tie gala will go “Hollywood Cocktail glam” #staytuned

“Style is a very simple way of saying complicated things” Jean Cocteau. There were a lot of different statements being made on Sunday night. Jeweled and beaded gowns evoked eras past — “Old Hollywood” looks that are always crowd pleasers. Short, sophisticated dresses and edgy trouser ensembles were a definite trend and they looked fresh & modern. Overall … most everyone looked camera ready for their close up! (and for those who weren’t …we have some do’s & don’ts…all subject to personal taste, of course!!)
Enjoy!!

XOXO

HITS & MISSES

The “What Were You Thinking” brigade…aka the Do’s & Don’ts!!!!

Okay, it’s the Emmy awards but you still don’t feel like doing full drag.

There are ways to dress less formally and still be in a fashion groove.

Disney store | shopDisney will donate $5 to Toys for Tots, up to $1 million.  The campaign runs through Saturday,  December 15, 2018.

Additionally, beginning now through December 25 in the DisneyNOW app, if a user plays a mini-game on the “25 Days of Christmas” activity page, their gameplay will “unwrap” one gift.  Once 500,000 digital gifts have been “unwrapped,” Disney will make a $25,000 donation to Toys for Tots.

Toys for Tots, a 71-year national charitable program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, provides happiness and hope to disadvantaged children during each Christmas holiday season.  The toys, books and other gifts collected and distributedby the Marines offer these children recognition, confidence and a positive memory for a lifetime.  It is such experiences that help children become responsible citizens and caring members of their community.  Last year the Marine Toys for Tots Program fulfilled the holiday hopes and dreams of 7 million less fortunate children in 800 communities nationwide.  Since 1947 over 251 million children have been assisted. The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is a not for profit organization authorized by the U.S. Marine Corps and the Department of Defense to provide fundraising and other necessary support for the annual Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program.  For more information, visit www.toysfortots.org
