‘Heated Rivalry’ Star Franco LoPresti Opens Up About ‘Days of our Lives’ Debut as Dante Vitali

Next week on Monday, September 14 will mark the first appearance in Salem of Franco LoPresti in his new Days of our Lives role of Dante Vitali.
Heated Rivalry fans now LoPresti very well from his part as hockey player Cliff Marleau in the series first season. (No word yet if Cliff appears in season 2).
Now in a conversation with TV Insider, DAYS fans will learn that LoPresti is on the soap for a limited run. No timetable was given.

When LoPresti does burst onto the scene come Monday, Dante makes quite the impact as Franco LoPresti explains. It seems that viewers will first see him in scenes in Monte Carlo at a poker table with none other than Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) and Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier). However, Dante will come to Salem to talk to the Brady family about his supposed fiancée Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney).
Franco shared, “Dante was born and grew up in Italy and educated at this pretty top-tier English boarding school. He then went on to build his own dynasty in finance, all the while trying to distance himself from the Vitali name (as viewers know Tamara Braun played his cousin Ava Vitali).”
“But at the core of Dante, there’s definitely an old-school quality to him”, continued LoPresti. “He’s super passionate, he’s sincere and incredibly generous, but he’s also someone that you probably shouldn’t underestimate. Loyalty is something that means a lot to him. As Dante enters Salem, I think the audience will get to slowly peel back those layers and discover what’s really driving him. So, I’m excited for Days fans to go on that ride with Dante.”

As it turns out, LoPresti taped his episodes of DAYS starting back in November 2025 which happened to be weeks before Heated Rivalry became a smash hit.
Franco recalled, “It’s so funny because I thought my episodes would air in a month (on Days of our Lives). But I found out it was nine to 10 months and I was like, ‘I gotta wait that long?!’ So, I’ve been biting my nails, trying not to think about it, and I think it’s actually kind of helped because now it’s here and it’s all coming at me from all different angles. I’m nervous. I’m excited, and I just can’t wait to see it all come together. It’s one of the best jobs I’ve ever had for sure.”
In his personal life, Franco just had his first child with wife, actress Emily Alatalo, just a weeks ago on August 23rd when they welcomed their daughter, Stella into the world.
So, looking forward to seeing Franco LoPresti’s debut come Monday? What do you think about the fact that it’s being reported as a limited run? Do you think Dante and Sami have a chance on-screen or off-screen to be a happy couple? What do you really think brings Dante to Salem sans Sami? ‘Days of our Lives’ Reveals ‘Class of Season 62’

In a metaphor for the start of the school year and their upcoming anniversary in November, Days of our Lives revealed its “Class of Season 62,” with a very clever yearbook montage on their social media handles, welcoming new cast members, while paying respect to the veterans and “class”-iying the other characters in Salem.
The official Days of our Lives Instagram account shared on the posting, “The Class of Salem Season 62 has arrived. Familiar faces, new names and plenty of personality. Flip through our yearbook for a peek at this year’s class.”
Let’s take a look at how they broke it all down: The Salem Yearbook starts with saying “another unforgettable season,” with some group pics, and then we dovetail into Salem’s new class which features: Sydney Malakeh (Sydney DiMera), Brandon Butler (Mason Whitfield), Angelica Nero (Victoria Kiriakis), Cole Gersmeyer (Thomas DiMera) and Lorelei Olivia Mote (Rachel Black).

Following the ‘Recess” section with some group snaps, comes “Homeroom Highlights” with: Abigail Klein (Stephanie Johnson), Eric Martsolf (Brady Black), Rob Scott Wilson (Alex Kiriakis), Lamon Archey (Eli Grant) and Sal Stowers (Lani Price Grant).
The “Salem Spectator” section features: Conner Floyd (Chad DiMera), Greg Rikaart (Leo Stark), Stowers again, and Ashely Puzemis (Holly Jonas). In the “Afternoon Sweets” section look for: Paul Telfer (Xander Kiriakis) and Linsey Godfey (Sarah Horton), Emily O’ Brien (Gwen Rizchech), Stacy Haiduk (Kristen DiMera/Susan Banks), Brandon Beemer (Shawn Brady), plus Jackée Harry (Paulina Price).
Towards the end of the yearbook, veteran performers such as: Mary Beth Evans (Kayla Johnson), Stephen Nichols (Steve Johnson), Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts) and Josh Taylor (Roman Brady) are featured, plus Deidre Hall (Marlena Evans), James Reynolds (Abe Carver) and Matthew Ashford (Jack Deveraux), Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Williams) and Suzanne Rogers (Maggie Kiraikis) with her on-screen daughter, Linsey Godfrey.
The Salem Yearbook comes to a conclusion noting “Big things happening in Salem” and to tune-in on Peacock, where we also find Jacob Martinez (Javi Hernandez), Maggie Carney (Rita Lesley), and a host of other favorites previewing what’s to come this fall.

‘Days of our Lives’ Head Writers Give Fall 2026 Preview: Marlena and Stefano’s Chess Mystery, The Arrivals of Dante and Sydney, Romance Drama for Sarah and Others

As summer comes to a close with Labor Day weekend, the former Days of our Lives co-head writing duo of Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford have given their annual fall season preview in episodes taped some 10-11 months ago.
As previously reported this past July, Ryan Quan returned to Days of our Lives and is now co-head writing the show with Ford, while Cwikly is now a consultant. The new co-head writing teams stories will not be seen till late spring/early summer 2027.
So for now, the stories pick up from where we left off with Cwikly and Ford promising via TV Insider, “Fall in Salem is full of twists and turns and secrets and surprises. Dots connect in unexpected ways as seemingly unrelated threads converge.”

Photo: JPI
CHECKMATE?
In one of the top mystery’s, Marlena is still having troubling memories and she will have another one on the Monday, September 7 episode. Meanwhile, her daughter Belle (Martha Madison) has gotten very close to Chad DiMera (Conner Floyd) and as pictured here, the two smooch while in Italy searching for answers to the chess set that Stefano DiMera gifted th the late John Black and Marlena (Deidre Hall) that has some significance.
The head scribes share, “The (chess board) mystery and its fallout are central to the fall stories. Chad and Belle follow the clues to a discovery that changes both of their families, and Salem, forever. Marlena worries that their investigation/the chess set may be a Pandora’s box that has been opened. And she is right…”
Newcomers are also the order of the day for Cwikly and Ford, this fall. We have already seen the debut as Brandon Butler as Mason Whitfield, and next week you can add as previously reported Sydney Malakeh on the Thursday September 1o episode as Sydney DiMera, followed by the the Monday, September 14 arrival of Franco LoPresti as Dante Vitali.

Photo: Corday Productions
Paula and Jeanne Marie expressed on the incoming Dante, “The arrival of a stranger who will set the whole town on its ear. The character has several strong ties to the current canvas and impacts many storylines.” What will Dante be up to? We know Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) had mentioned in 2025 she got engaged to the man, but that was off-screen.
LOVE THE ONE YOU’RE WITH OR THE ONE YOU WANT?
In the romance department, the triangle between Brady/Sarah/Xander heats up with a very conflicted Sarah (Linsey Godfrey). The head writers reveal, “When Sarah faces attacks personally and professionally, Xander (Paul Telfer) and Brady (Eric Martsolf) work together to help and protect her. Sarah’s new love for Brady is challenged by her lingering love for Xander. Xander risks everything for Sarah.”
In addition look for, “Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) and Philip (John-Paul Lavoiser) to draw closer as he tries to save the family company and home.”
Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) will also be returning at some point this fall and she won’t be alone. Who might she bring with her? And from the looks of the Peacock promo for next week’s DAYS, someone is wearing Stefano’s ring around their finger, but who … and how does it all tie in this fall?
So, what do you think about some of the highlights coming up this fall on Days of our Lives per the series head writers? Does anything float your boat or pique your interest? If so, what? Let us know via the comment section. But first, check out the action next week on DAYS in the promo entitled “Bag of Tricks” below.

IMO Billy Miller has the best reel am’s should win. He shows amazing range and captures my very favorite emotion – laughter through tears perfectly at the end.
I’m not sure if James Reynolds is on Days enough anymore to qualify as a “lead”, but he definitely deserves the Emmy for the Theo shooting storyline. Probably the most material he’s had to work with in years, and he knocked it out of the park.
Yes…he was really good there…
Hi, Jimmy,
Yes, James excelled in the scene ( Theo’s shooting and aftermath), but, I agree with Satan when he states that James has not been ‘around’ so much …..I do not think, though, that one reel , or one instance constitutes an Emmy.
James has not engaged enough for me.
Casey did it for me . But, everyone is so good; Peter B, Billy F, Billy M etc…. it becomes a challenge picking the best. They are all the best !!
I am really loving Dool….but, I find the dark turn Abigail’s storyline is taking more than a little disturbing.
Will she fall into bed with Stefan?…a true criminal he….taking advantage of an alter is a crime, as far as I am concerned.
The PTB should tread lightly on this delicate terrain—-it is NOT Abigal giving consent, but an alter. In the real world this would be rape, wouldn’t it? What message are ‘they’ sending?
I don’t like it……too melodramatic, Machiavellian and Sadistic for me.
I liked the idea of pursuing the storyline, Jimmy, but not at the risk of exploiting a personality with
DID.
James Reynolds is my favorite.
James and only James. I mean really!
I love Billy Miller, any one that knows me, knows I LOVE that guy. However this storyline killed the power of his skill for me. Billy can make lemonade out of lemons for sure but right now my vote goes to Peter Bergman as Jack Abbott. That man is really an excellent actor who can convey so much emotion on many levels. The rest of the nominees were good. In fact very good but most of the scenes they submitted were overacting. And that makes me uptight. Be sincere in your skill. Peter Bergman is an amazing actor who has had 2 years of solid excellence even when the stories were a little tilted. He deserves some serious recognition for it. If Peter does not win, then Billy Miller deserves it. Like I said, Billy has massive ability. He has won the Emmy 2 times previously and deserved it for those submissions but this time, the story made me forget his strength as an actor. Applause to all the nominees. Kudos to Billy Miller for remaining excellent even in a bad story. Kudos to Peter Bergman for your greatness. I hope you take that well deserved prize home.
Nicely stated. I agree.
I would like for it to be Peter Bergman, but my gut tells me that James Reynolds from Days will get it.
I am pulling for Peter Bergman, he is great as Jack Abbott and has done some very good work through this career.
I vote for Billy-a great actor and asset to GH!
The one and only—–
Billy Miller !
1st– He was Jake Doe
2nd– He was Jake/Jason
3rd– He was Jason
4th– He is now Drew
(5th to come- who is Drew)
Billy Miller, he slid from one to the other smooth as silk.
ALL his performances have been above all the others.
BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO !!! – BILLY MIller ..
Oh, su000, how right you are. A few months back, I’d never have imagined that SB’s return would be the best thing to happen to our Billy. But for me, it has. He’s got a brand new man to create and has done it with class, generosity, and brilliance. I still remember those wounded eyes when Sonny, Carly, Robin, et al, turned their backs on him. He’s taken this chance and soared with it while, sadly, SB and Jason languish in dullsville and stand around waiting for Sonny’s latest dirty job to be done or Carly’s newest drama. Second choice is the great Peter Bergman’s brilliant work as the flawed, guilt-ridden Jack. No surprise that Mr. Bergman spotted Billy Miller’s talent early on and helped him find the role of Billy Abbott. These two are a perfect match of talent, creativity, and dedication.
Agreed. Billy Miller or Peter Bergman are my picks. Also, agreed, regarding Steve Burton-such a shame, so much talent and he is forced to be Sonny’s mob dog or Carly’s therapist.
Peter Bergman
Billy Miller! Still wish Maurice Bernard and Billy Flynn were in this category!
Billy Miller
Billy Miller
James Reynolds. Like Camryn Grimes, he broke my heart.
James Reynolds started with this soap in 1981 he took two small breaks in 1991 & 2003 I think this man has earned his stripes I would like for him to get the Emmy and I do not watch the soap anymore. I think it’s way past time to pay respect for this very fine man and actor.
I believe the last time a black actor won for daytime lead actor was 1985 Darnell Williams and since Hollywood tells the rest of us out here in the real world that we are racist etc then put your money where your so vocal mouths are and prove us wrong that you are not what you accuse of us being and give the Emmy to a man of color since you are so hung up on skin color and a good actor he deserves it. Yes I get on my soap box but if you are going to preach to me in your tweets then I am going to get in your face
That’s a great point and really sad it has been that long. I find it sad that the 80s were a more open minded time on our soap screens. James’ story and reel is perfect. Give it to him!
Don’t worry it is all a popular juggling act JR deserves it if PB gets it I won’t be that upset because he is good all the time and respected but I will scream if JR gets it he is a lovely man
“… I will scream if JR gets it he is a lovely man ”
absolutely – the man of the hour… James Reynolds continues to stun and shine
I had to “wiki” this : it seems like EON .. yet Renee Jones only left the show in June 2012. ??? with all due respect… I JUST LOVED this supercouple.
so… Abe and son… where present and didn’t languish
BAM – Theo was SORAS … along comes Lani, Valerie, and Eli.
this is truly a first rate family… who meld so well of off one another. this is why it pains me that TPTB went and fired Kyler… as Theo. nevertheless
James Reynolds as ABe Carver and Son took to the airwaves… and have NOT looked back… with all the SORAS of Joey, Theo, Claire, Ciera , Chase…. around October/November 2015.
since that time… I certainly have seen much more airtime for James Reynolds. he’s nothing short of a revelation. and I will put forth again… he may be @DAYS token person of color… respectfully… James Reynolds is certainly a key vet… whom I LOVE TO BITS. so it’s with warm heart and just wanting to cheer him on.. and someone new to the arena of emmy.
I have loved Abe and his newfound family from the start.
Abe / Valerie / Lani / Theo / Eli. the best work is REELING from this family.
I WANT that James Reynolds takes home gold… his bump up from his emmy nom last year in supporting… is just that… two deserved nominations
I DO NOT watch B&B – never did… I have tons of respect for John McCook @B&B. does he deserve this for his body of work. absolutely. which is why I say he deserved to win this last year. Clifton Scott ? what disrespect.
@GH : Billy Miller and Michael Easton do not belong on this list. I will jump to the top of the heap and say… everybody LOVES Billy Miller… he should have been nominated when he was John Doe. I look for him to be nominated every year from here on out. who wants to be tied in to the Corinthos clan and Steve burton Jason. ??? i’m so glad “Drew” is MOVING on and out of the Sonny and Carly show. PLUS moving along without Sam.
Michael Easton : disgraceful… who wouldn’t have wanted to see a REAL STORY about addiction… that syringe was HUGE. his one night detox with Hayden . MIRACULOUS. to this day… to see him floundering betwixt Anna and Alexis. he’s just not producing any thing of note.
Jack Abbott : who isn’t torn up about any mother and son relationship. it’s that BIG and wrenching of the heart. I’m not watching the show.. and truthfully… acknowledge his STAR @Y&R. but, it’s always going to be … his AMC character Dr. Cliff Warner and Nina Cortlandt where all the magic played.
if he wins… ecstatic
FOR THIS YEARS yield and recognize, Mr. James Reynolds, Days of OUR Lives
John McCook and Billy Miller. As for the other 3…nope. Sorry…but no dice.
Later.
There is a lot of very good material being written for men it seems in this women’s genre, which isn’t so bad if the women’s material would’ve been good as well. Peter Bergman is best in emotional range and skill followed closely by James Reynolds and they both had strong stories, it seems. And John McCook’s was good too.
Michael Easton was in a supporting role in his story with Hayden so while he is fine in it especially paired with her, I’m not sure why he’s in the lead category especially when GH is extremely clear about who they put on contract as lead players. And if they aren’t impressed enough with any of their leads, besides Billy, to put them forth as nominees (or the voters aren’t) then they should shift around who is lead on the show so the audience and voters aren’t bored to tears watching the same repetitive stories.
I think Michael Easton had the strongest scene with his cold turkey addiction……but I think that John McCook had the best chosen reel.
@moviegal…..Even though I abhorred the whole Finn drug thing, Easton did deliver great acting in his portrayal of addiction. As I’ve always enjoyed this man of multi-GH roles, I would be quite pleased to see him take home Emmy….she would certainly be a step up from Alexis!!!! (Hey, just for Finn maintaining a modicum of dignity and a straight face with that cringeworthy romantic farce alone, I have to say give that guy a trophy! He truly deserves it…with Billy Miller a close second….I also adore this actor, but was not at all taken with the copious character revisions that he was forced to undergo in the “Q a Deux” scenario!)
As much as I want Billy Miller to win because he is the most awesome actor, I really feel that James Reynolds, on my fav soap DOOL, deserves to win this year for his much deserved screen time with Theo’s shooting. He was just excellent! Sometimes I wanted to hate him, but as a parent you sympathized and cried along with him❤️
BILLY MILLER!!!!!!!
Peter Bergman-(Jack Abbott) should win this one. He just pulls at the heart strings.
The incredible MICHAEL EASTON!
Billy Miller!!!
The amazingly talented Michael Easton!
They’re all amazing actors! But Michael Easton’s scenes are fantastic, and he is long overdue for this win!
Michael Easton for sure
He has worked hard and delivers always.
His fans love and adore him. And fight to make
Sure he stays around!!
He is an excellent performer and deserves
This award!!!
I can not imagine watching without him!
Michael Easton .
The amazing multi-talented Michael Easton !!!
Michael Easton!! Just love him! He’s had some fantastic material this past year and his talents never cease to amaze me.
It’s been a long time coming for Michael Easton!
I am hoping that Michael Easton wins.
Michael Easton for sure – the man is an incredible actor!
Michael Easton is stunning I think he should win.
