Courtesy/DaytimeEmmys.net
With fans all around the globe now having the ability to watch the 41st Annual Daytime Emmys stream live for the first time via the Internet, when the ceremonies kick-off with the red carpet arrivals, today the Daytime Emmys social media team has announced their “Social Media Hosts”!
These women will be conducting interviews and chatting one-on-one with the nominees, presenters and stars on Sunday June 22nd beginning at 3PMPST/6PMEST!
Hosts: Brittany Furlan, Lauren Elizabeth, Jessica Harlow and Meghan Rosette have been given the nod to bring you up close and personal to all the action on Emmy night.
We have linked to their Twitter accounts above! Furlan is a comedian, Rosette is host/personality, and Elizabeth and Harlow also are hosts with a slant on fashion. So check the gals out and their Emmy coverage on Sunday night.
So, what do you think of the new Social Media Hosts for #DaytimeEmmys 2014? Let us know!
Why these ladies? Lilly Melgar & Martha Madison would be perfect for this.
I agree Louisa, these ladies are has beens lol. I love Martha Madison and Lilly Melgar, they are wonderful ladies and former soap actors.
Blech!
Pass.
Who, who, who and who?
Never heard of them. Hope they have knowledge of daytime !
NOT A FAN of ANY OF THIS!!!
SUCKSthey get a great host like Kathy & it’s online. Certainly hope she is pure filth and fun since it’s online here nothing should be censored as it’s the internet Hope it is online to watch for a fee days because if I decide to watch it won’t happen live as I will be at the red carpet
First time ive even heard of them…still wish E carried the emmys!!! But ill be reading the winners!!! Seems ok to make it global but some countries dont get most of the daytime shows unless they get and see it on utube!!!…lol
WTH!!!!! 😡 😡
It is the ”Daytime Emmy’s”
IF it were the Soap Opera Emmy’s, then I might be excited, but it is not.
I really really do not want to watch all the game, talk, and cooking shows from all the networks get awards..
I will watch all the soap winner clips after, to see just the soap winners and losers..
What about people who are familiar to us from daytime past and present? Just is so odd the Daytime Emmys are not about the day part’s programming or people. Maybe the online ceremony will allow for more clips and extensive presentations. Will the nominees be there to participate?
Open Letter to The Social Media Hosts who will host Red Carpet at Daytime emmys
To: @BrittanyFurlan @JessicaHarlow @Love_Lauren_E & @meghanrosette
I am a long time daytime soap fan and I love @DaytimeEmmys. I was good with the streaming on lone but I have to be honest I was hurt that the majority of the soap journalists and bloggers were not given red carpet access to the awards. These people have been in the daytime game and they arent allowed on the carpet. These journalists & bloggers know the shows, the actors, producers, writers and directors. This daytime community is one big fmily although somettimes disfuctional.
So after stewing on this for the last day, I have decided I am gonna be open minded about this just as I am when a new actor takes over a role I love or shows get new writers and producers. The one thing that I ask of you four for th whole daytime community is that please do your research so you all will be aware of who is who & want shows they are from.
If your gonna take on this job and want to do it justice, know the genre and the people in it.
Good luck
#DaytimeEmmys
Amen!! Well said!!
That might happen IF it were Soap Opera awards..
However;
It is for ALL the daytime TV, and the soaps are only but 4 of the many daytime shows up for awards..
Sad, but true..
The soaps may get lost among the many daytimes shows..
Well, it’s obvious these bitches didn’t listen to your kind words! They were the absolute WORST I’ve ever seen on a Red Carpet show, and I’ve watched them all.
It was disgusting how they didn’t know who anyone was, what award they were up for, if they had ever won before, who was “with” whom (as a couple)…and talking about raping, stalking and “black people” like they were new to the soap opera genre.
These idiots were in this for themselves alone, for the publicity, and boy are they getting the publicity! All negative, for sure, but they are too dense to realize that THAT’S A BAD THING!

I have never heard of any of them!
Who are these women? I would have loved Kelly Thiebaud, Ashlyn Pearce, Camryn Grimes, and/or Kelli Goss. Missed opportunity for sure 🙁
Yuck
How can I watch the 2014 Emmy awards online? Is there a link, and if so, what is it?

You can watch the Daytime Emmy Awards this Sunday at daytimeemmys.net/ on the internet!
I personally never like the red carpet part of award shows, but I know for many this is one of the highlight, so I guess it is good thing it is being steamed on line for those who enjoy that kind of thing. Never heard of any of these ladies, not sure if too many of those attending the awards will know who they are, so I predict many awkward moments and uncomfortable banter between them. Is there any way of knowing how many people are watching? I would be curious to find out if the number watching on line was more, less or equal to the number than would have watched on convention television.
Agree … who the :$O@) are these gals? This is going to create REALLY awkward moments when our favs show up and these nobodies stick a mic in their face! I mean really the one gal is identified as “host/personality” and NO ONE HAS EVER heard of her!?!?!? Doing it on the cheap as always!
lol perhaps we never heard of any of these ladies because they are from the TV commercials.. they could be commercial stars aha !
REALLY HATE THIS! I am NOT Thrilled about being hunched over my laptop for 2+ hours! CBS keeps running commercials Bragging about their 60 nominiations and they couldn’t opt to AIR the Daytime Emmy’s???????? SMH Who is running the programming department at the network????? Their head should roll!
Have mercy! I feel like they are really scraping the bottom to do this. (No offense meant to the ladies; just the idea of not getting a “name” talent for this.) And Tweeting about it? Why not streaming it like the show? This is just insulting to the very talented people in Daytime. Shame to TPTB at the networks for not caring enough to give the people who bring as much, if not more, to their coffers as their primetime counter-parts. UGH!
I see they again give me a reason not to watch. Loads of soap actors can walk and talk at the same time. They could have gone to some who are now out of jobs because of the so called View, talk , etc, etc, etc. Sure its daytime and what do I watch on daytime the soaps. I will definitely pass on the red carpet. Maybe even the show. I don’t care about it anymore. The networks ant top do away with soaps ,so do it. I can watch TCM.
Who are these people, and what have they got to do with Daytime viewing, period? Would love to see fans of daytime who are in the news/media works actually get a chance to do this, especially ones with knowledge of the various soaps. That’s something to think about, Daytime Emmy people, for next year. Hold a contest for REAL announcers from among the fan-masses, ones who are DJs, news, radio, tv announcers, have them try out for the red carpet and see who can REALLY do a good job. I’m betting these girls will fall flat on their plastic, look-alike faces and folks will be going, “WTHeck???”
So far they’re “AWFUL”!!! They’re not holding the mike close enough to the actors & they’re not having them face the cameras! Their voices are so grating! If we have to live stream The Emmy’s the least they could have done was give us good interviewers on the Red Carpet! Hopefully it will be televised next year with better interviewers!!!
These imbeciles are absolutely unbelievable — how in the world did they get this job???? They’re loud, offensive (rape jokes – yay!), and creepily coming onto actors who are still in high school. They are actually too stupid to work in Hollywood, and that’s saying something. It’s the end of the world.
These 4 hosts are terrible! I have it on mute…..go away
Maybe the Daytime Emmy’s should consider hiring people who know ANYTHING about soaps?
I am watching the life internet feed for the red carpet and I don’t like it. I like recording shows like this and watching them when I want to! I don’t like having to sit in front of a computer for hours!! For the red carpet or the Emmys!! Please find a network for it next year!
THESE GIRLS SUCK!! They r ruining the pre show. Boobies rape seriously r they saying this shit
THEY ARE AWFUL HOSTS. HORRIBLE!!
They’re horrible why didn’t they hire people who know about the soaps, actors and actresses that work on them. These woman are totally clueless. Such an embarrassment. So sad!
These hosts did a terrible job. They had no clue who they were interviewing and were rude with their questions/comments.
Not happy with the choices for the Red Carpet hosts. I never heard of these women? One was especially loud, obnoxious, her partner host couldn’t get a word in edge wise and was disrespectful to some of the stars she interviewed, with lewd remarks. I didn’t tune in to listen to that stuff. I’m sure it won’t be hard to figure out witch one I’m referring to. She was a Big Big Mistake!! I really wasn’t happy with this Internet thing. Hopefully, next year, this show will be back to normal with the “In The Know” Red Carpet hosts they usually have. Why were they not there this year? Hard to figure. This Emmy Show keeps getting deeper in the hole each year.
This was embarrassing, unprofessional and outright pathetic. Hope an apology will follow for everyone that head to deal with these so called “hosts”. Worst I’ve ever seen.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Favorites Making Returns: Alison Sweeney, Christie Clark, Chandler Massey and Bryan Dattilo

Great news for Days of Our Lives fans, now that Ryan Quan is co-head writer of the long-running soap opera. Coming in June of 2027 (since DAYS tapes ten or so months ahead), you can look forward to the returns of Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady), Christie Clark (Carrie Brady), Chandler Massey (Will Horton) and Bryan Dattilo (Lucas Horton).
The foursome is back on set and began last week to tape their upcoming story arc, according to TV Insider. As to what exactly is going on that brings sister Sami and Carrie’s history back up, as well as Will and Lucas’ is only being teased at this time, but suffice to say, it should be intriguing.
Alison Sweeney explained on being back on set, “It was a lot of dialogue and emotion, but with all the best actors to work opposite, we fell into it as if no time had passed. It was really wonderful.”

As to working with the longstanding rivalry of Sami and Carrie, Alison added on working with Clark, “So, it really does feel like we’re sisters. It’s so fun, and she’s such a good actor that she makes everything so natural that you can really disappear into those stories.”
JUST LIKE OLD TIMES
It also seems like the deep-history, which often had the sister fighting for the love of Austin Reed, but that might not figure into the equation this time, or will it?
Alison indicated what she thought of the scripts she was given. “I felt like when I read it, it was a page-turner. I was very excited. There’s a lot of history here, and a lot of things that haven’t been said. So, it’s really not like, ‘Oh, rehashing stuff.’ And now having played some of the scenes, I’m psyched.” Sweeney added, as for the men, working again with her on-screen son, Chandler Massey and Will’s on-screen father Bryan Dattilo, was also extra special.
The last time DAYS viewers saw Sami on the canvas was back in November of 2025, when she revealed she has gotten engaged to never-before-seen Dante Vitali. As for Clark, she last visited Salem for the episodes surrounding John Black’s memorial in June of 2025.
Chandler Massey’s Will Horton last made a visit to Salem in November of 2025 when he attended the gala for the Tom Horton Free Clinic as part of the soap opera’s 60th anniversary celebration. Bryan Dattilo was last seen in December of 2025. So, by the time we see all four again it will be close to two years since they were on new episodes of the series. Time to look forward to June of 2027.
So, excited by the news of Alison, Christie, Chandler and Lucas making a return to Days of Our Lives? What do you think the story will be involving, Sami, Carrie, Lucas and Will? Let us know via the comment section.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Alum Al Calderon Talks On His Daytime Emmy-Nominated Scenes as Javi Hernandez (Exclusive)

Last Tuesday, Al Calderon scored the first Emmy nomination of his career for his role as Javi Hernandez on Days of Our Lives.
Calderon name was announced as one of the performers competing for gold in the Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series category at the upcoming 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards on October 30.
This week, Calderon chatted live on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel for a one-on-one conversation where he discussed: his nominated scenes and time on the Peacock streaming soap opera, his decision to leave DAYS, his role of Nico Silva on Brilliant Minds and its sad cancellation, plus his passing the torch of Javi to Jacob Martinez, who took over the role on-screen on the June 30, 2026 episode of Days of Our Lives.

JAVI REVEALS TO LEO THAT HE HAD A DAUGHTER WHO DIED
Al revealed the scenes that comprise his now Emmy-nominated reel have at its epicenter the heartbreaking moments from the September 12, 2025 episode. In it, Javi shares for the first time to Leo (Greg Rikaart) that he had a daughter named Solana, with a woman he was seeing named Sylvia. One fateful day, Sylvia left their child in a car when she went to work and the little girl died. Javi had blamed himself for not being the parent to take his daughter to school that day since he was hungover the night before, therefore it opened up the opportunity for something to happen to the his child, and it did.
The multi-talented actor/singer explained his reel: “It was the scene where he is talking about his daughter to Leo. I also included the scene where Javi goes to talk to Melinda (Tina Huang) and to see if it would be a viable option to adopt, because I wanted to introduce the subtlety and nuance of why Javi kind of has this whole connection to Tesoro, in a way.”
It is true that Al can bring the tears and make us cry right along with him during his run as Javi. To that, Calderon added, “I’ve read the comments that I’m a little bit of a crybaby, so I didn’t want the entire reel to be of me crying, but I wanted it to show a little bit of an emotional range of the restraint that Javi was feeling so I included that scene
In addition Calderon shared, “I also included a really beautiful scene with Cherie Jimenez (Gabi Hernandez, DAYS) where I’m looking at photos of Tesoro, and of course, Javi is crying. I just wanted to show the relationship between Javi and his family as well, and as I mentioned the reveal of the child that he lost.”

ALUMS AL CALDERON AND ALICE HALSEY REPRESENT DAYS OF OUR LIVES IN EMERGING TALENT CATEGORY
In a twist of fate, Calderon is also nominated in the Emerging Talent category with Alice Halsey who played Rachel Black. Halsey is currently starring in the reboot of Little House on the Prairie in the lead role of Laura Ingalls on Netflix.
As to his hope on Emmy night, Al expressed, “Of course, I want to win, but Alice Halsey is going to give me a run for the money. And if’s not me (who wins the award), it better be her!”
You can check out the full interview with Al below.
Now let us know, do you remember Al’s emotional scenes when he explained to Leo he had a daughter who died, which made it all the more heartbreaking to not end up with permanent custody of Tesoro? What do you think of Al’s chances to win the gold based on his Emmy scene selection? Do you miss him as Javi? Weigh-in via the comment section.

Emily O’Brien Talks On Her Y&R Past as Jana Hawkes and Working with Peter Porte on ‘Days of Our Lives’

On the latest edition of Soapy Hosted by Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart which dropped on Tuesday, July 21, Emily O’Brien is the featured guest. As soap fans know, Emily has worked with Rikaart both in her first soap role on The Young and the Restless as Jana Hawkes and now on Days of Our Lives in her current role of Gwen Rizczech.
While Emily continues on DAYS, she has very impressive list of credits in the other part of her career as a voice-over actress and one in motion-capture in some of the most popular video games in the world.
O’Brien was first seen on The Young and the Restless back in 2006. She recalled her landing the role which eventually paired her for her five year run with Greg Rikaart.

Photo: JPI
BEING CAST ON THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
“The role was just a few days and she wasn’t even supposed to be English,” Emily recalled. “The role was originally called Jade. Karen Rae, the casting director of The Young and the Restless at the time said to me “Oh, you’re from England. Try it with the dialect.” I put it on and she said, ‘I’m going to bring you back at like 3 for s callback.’ So then they changed the role to Jana and they said she’s going to be a Brit. I was only supposed to be on for like five episodes and it turned into 5 years.”
In explaining why she loved crazy Jana, Emily shared, “Jana was sort of like the misanthrope. She was just was the odd one out and I loved it. I felt so comfortable playing that because she was just eclectic and weird and she loved playing with Ouija boards and she rode a motorbike. There was just so much color to bring to her. It was just such a great match to play with Greg (Kevin), and Christian LeBlanc (Michael) and Tracey Bregman (Lauren).

GWEN, DIMITRI AND LEO ON DAYS OF OUR LIVES
On Days of Our Lives, the Leo, Gwen, Dimitri dynamic is quite unique and been through many schemes and entanglements. Often Emily finds herself in repartee with her ex-lover, Dimitri, who turned out to be gay and then had a thing for her bestie, Leo (Greg Rikaart)!
During the conversation, Greg and Emily sang, Peter Porte’s praised with O’Brien expressing, “Peter is just ready to play. He comes on set prepared. I’ve never seen him with his script. From blocking and rehearsals, he doesn’t have it. He’s prepared. He’s a physical actor and he always trying to come up with something. I think he let me slap him. He let me kiss him. He let me throw a cheeseburger in his lap. He’s ready for anything for anything.”
You can catch the full episode of ‘Soapy; featuring Emily O’Brien below where the actress also talks about replacing Jen Lilley as Theresa Donovan after being let go as Gwen; and being paired again with Greg Rikaart on the Peacock streaming soap opera this time as best friends and more.
So, were you a big Jana Hawkes and Kevin Fisher fan on Y&R? Did you like them as a couple? Do you like the dynamic between Emily and Peter Porte and Greg Rikaart on DAYS? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
