42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards – Fashion Review

2015 EMMY FASHION REVIEW
by Lauren Koslow
Special Fashion Contributor On-Air On-Soaps

It’s Daytime Emmy Fashion Review time again, although in full disclosure I must admit the past week has been a bit of a whirlwind for me: My husband and I are smack in the middle of a major move, sorting thru and packing up 20+ years of household— I cut my hand in the process, barely got to the Daytime Emmy red carpet on time and missed getting an up- close and personal view of a lot of the red carpet fashion. However, Michael Fairman and I got together for a late night summit and I was able to pull together some top fashion Hits and Misses.

In general, happy to report that the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmys made an effort to restore the glam factor to the awards. In return, the stars stepped up the style for this year’s ceremonies, in the new venue on the Warner Brothers lot. I have to give props to the men who looked FINE—sleek and Hollywood hip! And as for the women, there were so many fabulous looks we had to lengthen our top ten list! You go girls!!!

Usually, I disqualify my dress (although I have been critical of my choices, at times) but this year I have to say I absolutely loved my Paolo Sebastian gown – the detail and construction was just divine, my only wish is that everyone could have been seen more of it on the red carpet! Clearly, Mr. Sebastian was a very popular choice of designer this year as you will see in my Best Dressed picks.

While style was everywhere at the Emmys, some of it seem less appropriate for a black tie event and more in the flavor of…..well, a different kind of party ! All in good fun, folks…cuz you looked your “own” kind of fabulous too! You’ll see in our “misses” list

So kudos to the daytime stars who took the time to dress and impress us! You gave the Daytime Emmys red carpet a much needed lift this year.

Enjoy!!

XOXO

Pride Month: Memorable LGBT Characters Through the Years – Photo Gallery

June is Pride month around the world and in major cities in the U.S.

For the soaps; daytime and primetime, over the years, we’ve seen an evolution from having no LGBT characters, to more inclusion and representation of the gay community on your favorite shows.  However, there is still far more representation that is clearly needed.

While several daytime and primetime dramas have given us coming out stories, love stories, same-sex weddings, and more, some have anchored their characters into the core drama of their respective shows, but others have tread lightly.

Check out our gallery below of these moving and memorable characters played by actors who made them come to life that have represented the rainbow flag, and  some clunkers that flatlined along the way.

Let us know who your favorite LGBT character has been through the years, and which were the major flops.  Comment below.  (Note: click on any photo to enlarge the gallery slideshow. or watch as in the post with our captions)

GH Nurses’ Ball 2018 Photo Gallery

The GH Nurses Ball 2018 episodes kicked-off on Wednesday. May 16 with the airing of part one. The special event airs through Monday, May 21 and the action and the performances are just about to start.

Walking the red carpet were some of Port Charles’ most notable residents including: Elizabeth and Franco, Maxie, Sonny, Sam, Alexis, Curtis and Jordan, Ava and Griffin, and many more.

Nina Reeves Cassadine was back as the co-host of the red carpet arrivals, with her new other co-anchor, none other than The Bachelor’s Nick Viall.

While guests were arriving, several of the performers were getting ready to take the stage including host with the most, Lucy Coe. Robin Scorpio Drake arrived back in Port Charles, who has always been the center point of why the ball started in the first place, as the annual event is always dedicated to HIV/AIDS awareness and research.

However, danger looms as Anna is closing in on finding her son, Henrik, as well Jason wants to nab the guy. Will they finally learn that Henrik is really Peter August?

Stay tuned for more as the story unfolds. For now, peruse through some images from the first installment below. Then, let us know, who looked the most glam, and what you think of the ball thus far via the comment section below.
