45th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards Drama Performer Pre-Nominations Announced!

We are off to the races for the 45th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards with the announcement today of the Daytime Drama Performer Pre-Nominations from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). “We are excited to officially launch the 45th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards with this list of extremely talented actors and actresses. Our 45th Anniversary show promises to be a star-studded gala filled with lots of surprises,” said David Michaels, Senior Vice President of the Daytime Emmy Awards and Executive Producer.

Here’s how the Pre-Noms were determined:  An online judging ballot containing all entrants in each of four performer categories (Lead Actor and Actress and Supporting Actor and Actress) was sent to all registered, eligible peer judges. The ballot contained a randomized order of performers in each category, regardless of their show affiliation. Judges were required to view clips online containing the work of each performer entry before selecting their top 10 performer choices in each category.  Please note that there are 11 Lead Actresses due to exact ties in the voting.   Ballots were submitted directly to Lutz & Carr, Inc., an independent accounting firm, who tabulated the results. The candidates below who received the highest number of votes now advance to the blue ribbon screening round, scheduled to begin on February 22, 2018, which will determine both nominees and recipients. Please note that this release also contains the names of the entrants for the Younger Actor and Actress categories, who will proceed directly to the Blue Ribbon Round.

Look for the final nominations to be announced on Wednesday, March 21, 2017, live on CBS’s The Talk.   The Daytime Emmys will be held on Sunday, April 29th.

Congratulations to all the Lead and Supporting Actors moving on to the next round, and best of luck to all and the Younger Actors in the competition as well.   After the jump, check out the Pre-Noms going for gold in the 45th Annual competition.

Now if only the awards were televised…….

Judith you said it all right there!!!

I agree!

Did someone say Kelly Monaco? Speak louder! Did I misunderstand?

Why oh Why R sssssooooooo many bad actors and actresses being
nominated ❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓Poor acting doesn’t warrant an EMMY.
That’s the problem w/ no longer having a dozen soap operas on the air,
The academy will nominate just about anybody… Hopefully they’ll triple
check the reels before making final decisions.

Haha…Nancy. I thought Kelly was fantastic this year!

Great lists this year, love seeing Eileen on both Lead Actress(YR) SActress(days)

How cool it she won both!

Not only would that be awesome, but both would be well deserved!!!

GH needs more supporting actresses!!!
Also hayley Erin should be in that category not the kids one. Ugh

Haley Erin qualifies as Younger Actress since she’s 25 or under.

Her acting has greatly improved in her time on GH. Her role was greatly diminished when Robert Palmer Watkins was let go.

Eden McCoy and Chloe Lanier should take two spots. Both drove story and are good actresses. Whether you like Nelle or not, CL plays her well.

I love them all! I didn’t know that 25 was the magic number. Thanks for clarifying!

Wow Michael, not even a “Pre-Nom” for Genie Francis in the Supporting category…
Guess I will have to go put on my “shocked” look…

Laura wasn’t given a lot to do last year. She went to Turkey with Tracy, struggled with Spencer and finally at the end of the year married Kevin and started a mayoral campaign. Genie’s a great actress, but the material wasn’t there for the Supporting category.

That LiLo got the only GH nom in Supporting Actress says a lot. Nancy Grahn probably should’ve submitted in supporting. Rebecca Budig could’ve filled a spot as well.

Genie Francis gave one of the best performances in daytime when Spencer was “kidnapped”..Most of performers in the pre-nominations are submitted with just one or two scene reels! There is just no respect to this great actress by TPTB!!

Buddy Lee, you are so right!! No respect for this legend by her own show, smh!!!

Is one of the surprises that the show will be televised???

Why isn’t Rena Sofer nominated????

Why is Paige Searcy nominated? It’s been ages since she was last on Days.

I’m so torn between Eileen and Marla for supporting, but I think I have to go with Eileen. Just loved her as Susan.

Definitely Eileen (Susan)!

Will this award show be televised? All this ore emmy is great but come on televise it.

We sure hope so!

Ok I’m going to be the first to vote. #1 Best lead actress–Sharon Case as Sharon Newman Y & R. Best lead actor #2 Scott Clifton as Liam Spencer B & B—Outstanding supporting actress Marla Adams as Dina Mergeron Y & R—Outstanding supporting actor Steve Burton as Jason Morgan G.H.—Outstanding younger actress Hayley Erin as Kiki Jerome as Outstanding younger actor Tristan Leabu as Reed Hellstrom Y & R.

I second thst, Nikki….except for B&B…don’t watch it…
I must say, though, that Casey Moss brought me to my knees ( I was so moved, I cried) with his “suicide” performance.
Not too many appreciate Reed, but he is acting the perfect teen who has been ‘bound’ by his mother …..can’t really blame Victoria…considering she was trying her best without Reed’s father as backup.
Wow!!! Kelly Monaco’s dress looks so much better in black. I have a similar number in cranberry red….I like the black better. She looks beautiful.

My final nomination predictions,

Lead actress: Wright, West, Grahn, Egan, Evans

Lead actor: Bergman, McCook, Clifton, Easton, Miller

Supporting actress: Adams, Hendrickson, Grimes, Davidson, Zucker

Supporting actor: Burton, Stuart, Montgomery, Rikaart, Massey

Younger actress: Lanier, Erin, McCoy, Edwards

Younger actor: Moss, West, Fode, Flynn

Oh, I’d love to see Greg Rikaart win again, just so they can slap themselves over letting him go! He’s my favorite daytime actor, along with Billy Miller, and deserves the recognition.

Since when is he Kevin Baldwin???? What happened to Fisher?

Are you predicting Judi Evans or Mary Beth Evans, Watcher?

Casey Moss has been great as JJ…

So right, Jimh. Casey’s time has come. Imagine being that good and that HOT at the same time….he’s a perfect daytime actor.

He really is, such a hot guy. I’m surprised he’s under 25 years old, he’s been on the show for many years now. But he definitely deserves it for his scenes at Christmas.

And so much more, Soaphound—Casey CAN act !! Hot and talented….what else can we ask for!? LOL.

Yes, he has, Jimmy, Casey was unbelievable…..that makes sense….Billy Flynn makes sense, Peter Bergman makes sense….but Eric Martsolf, Galen Gering do not, to me.
I do not like Jack, but Peter is outstanding…….Love Rafe, but the character is too sedate and the acting not desrving of an …with Hope? Even worse.
Brady? I have no words….I am sick of this character…..never changing. He snaps out of his stupor with drugs and alcohol for a NY minute, then climbs back into his playpen, like the baby he is. The same thing, over and over again, for years…..can’t the PTB find something to do other thsn constantly scheming to best his grandfather, Sonny etc.
He is a good-for-nothing wastrel. He truly is the definition of one-dimensional cry-baby, wah, wah, wah….

Really hope John McCook wins itthis year . He was spectacular

My favorites are Eileen Davidson (either role, well-deserved), Nancy Lee Grahn, and Maura West. I also love, love, love, James Patrick Stuart as Valentin Cassadine. Of course I love Gina Tognoni and Wally Kurth, and a few others, just not sure what their “big story” or scene was this past year.. Melissa Claire Egan, seriously? I cringe every time that Chelsea and Nick are forced together. They have zero chemistry and Chelsea is as annoying as insipid Lulu (GH) and annoying Abby (YR), IMO. The same goes for Haley Erin as Kiki Jerome. #fastforward
I wish that the event was broadcast. I miss watching it and seeing all of my favorites dressed up, presenting awards, and of course, winning!

Dmr, I agree about Melissa Claire. A talented actress trapped in a dullsville storyline. Plus, how much dramatic story did she have this year? I hardly think that ooohing and aaahing over a half-naked Nick takes much acting. Just saying. Eileen had a great year, and Maura West should just be redubbed Maura “Best”.

Great description, Soaphound. Love Melissa, not Chelsea—add ‘dollsville’ to ‘dullsville’.
That’s how I see her represented : a doll. Melissa, as seen on AMC, has so much more to offer other than being Nick’s playmate.

Hi Soaphound! I hope all is well!

Over the years, I have visited this site and commented only on occasion, although lately I have been more active, given my disdain regarding the Genie Francis decision.

I have saved links to several threads in which I participate. I was just going through them and noticed a very nice reply you gave to me in 2016 in a thread about GH Sonny (I am no fan of that character, to say the least…). You stated in part: “I’ve been watching GH on & off since the 70s. This current stint of 10 years has probably been my longest, mostly because of Laura Wright joining the cast; I loved her talent and fire on GL also…. But I was curious, James, what are some of your favorite stories or eras from GH?”

There was no “Reply” button to your post, so I wasn’t alerted to your reply, and I never noticed it until now. If you will indulge me, I will give you a reply: I began watching GH in 1969 and instantly became enamoured with Valerie Starrett as Diana Maynard Taylor. Imagine how crushed I was when this beautiful, popular leading lady was fired from the show by a producer — Hmmm, sound familiar? — She will always be my favorite actress… And her storyline with Dr. Peter Taylor will always be my favorite storyline. It’s almost scary how I can remember so many of their scenes from the 1970s, even some lines in particular! I certainly enjoyed Leslie Weber, the love story of Steve and Audrey, and, of course, Jessie Brewer. But that’s ancient history. Somehow, I managed to continue to watch the show. The Luke & Laura heyday were certainly engrossing, and I always enjoyed the Quartermaines, particularly Monica. So glad that she is still with the show. I never warmed up to the Mob-centric storylines, which continue to this day. To me, the focus began with a hospital and should have stayed there. I stopped watching in 2004, then would tune in on occasion if I heard of something interesting happening, such as the 50th anniversary and the return of Genie Francis.

I am also curious to learn of your favorite characters and storylines. So, when you get time, please give me your input on that. I am most curious! I am sure I am missing many great posts (by you and others) by not checking in everyday. I apologize again for not getting back to you sooner! 🙂

Soaphound, thank you for your most gracious and thoughtful reply to me below. I value your insight. I wholeheartedly agree with you about Billy Miller. Your assessment of his contributions to GH the last 2 years are correct. He is undoubtedly a great actor who flexibly rode this roller-coaster nobly. I also saw his great work on Y&R. The choices of characters with whom you are tired are clearly warranted. I echo you on all. And I do understand your interest in Julian.

Glad you feel the same way about Genie Francis. I think it’s clear that GH is losing many viewers with this move. They are jeopardizing the allegiance of even long-term viewers, such as yourself, who, like so many others, feel disenfranchised with so much of the content of the show. Fast-forward buttons are getting quite the workout!

I know you really like Laura Wright as well as Billy Miller. When you get a moment, please clue me in on other favorite characters and storylines of yours throughout the years. I would look forward to that!

You’re too kind in your remarks to me. Sometimes I feel I am a one-trick pony here, constantly criticizing Sonny and the Mob and that long-term focus of the show. I am a sporadic viewer now, as I am a sporadic contributor here. Maybe I am just a “recurring” poster… 🙂

For me, I nostalgically miss the glory days of GH, just as I miss the glory days of Jamesj75. Even if the current state of affairs disappoints, looking back makes me smile… 🙂

Awwwww, Jamesj75. I just read your “note” to Soaphound” above and your last line …”…just as I miss the glory days of Jamesj75.”

In the words of William Wordsworth…

“Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind…”

And…I’m baaaaaaack! No warning, probably a good thing…
Soaphoud, thanks so much for your reply!

I appreciate your sentiments on nostalgia, which we share. I also appreciate our friend, @rebecca1, for, among other things, her injection of that great quote by Wordsworth!
I think you’ve listed a few remarkable movies and music talent. I like them as well. And to this day, for me, my favorite singer of all time is the late Karen Carpenter. Carpenters’ music, for me, was incredible, and it was Karen’s angelic, clear, emoting voice that was the highlight — and always will be so.
With regard to GH:
—You’ve chosen 2 great actresses: Finola Hughes and Sarah Brown. Each of them is riveting and highly adept. No wonder they are such fan favorites!
—I haven’t watched much of the Drew/Jason story. I think it was far too contrived, just to bring back Steve Burton. I do realize what a great actor Billy Miller is.
—I appreciate you sharing the overly violent scene wherein Jason was beaten by Helena’s goons — and, importantly, your visceral reaction to it. I didn’t see that. I am no fan of gratuitous violence or gratuitous hijacking of a hospital-based daytime drama for glorification of mob figures. I realize that others find it appealing. So be it.

Best to you, Friend! 🙂

In closing and with a nod to @rebecca1 who brought Wordsworth into this discussion, here is one of his quotes I also find uplifting: “That best portion of a good man’s life, His little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love.”

Hi Jamesj75…

You are a sweetheart! Thanks so much for the nod…here and the other acknowledgment that landed under my comment further down.

I love the quote you posted! So true…acts of kindness and love…the essence of life.

Sending a virtual hug to you. 🙂

@dmr. I totally agree with your assessment . They should have a category for the boringiest (that a word?) Couple, actor, SL, etc.

As for GH performers:

Lead Actor
Easton is probably viewed as more Supporting. That said, he was in a lot of story last year, so this might be correct category this year. Benard rightfully overlooked. Miller came alive the last 3 months once Burton returned.

Lead Actress
Grahn was a Lead for first half, then Supporting. Based on screen time, Wright is a lead, but did Carly really drive story in 2017?

Supporting Actor
In his last two weeks on the show, Montgomery shone more than his previous 3 years. GH could get 3 nominations here as JPS and WK had some great material last year. Ned’s last scenes with Tracy were very moving.

Supporting Actress
As commented above, LiLo should have been joined by Rebecca Budig.

Younger categories
The right performers were put in here. Stitt and McCoy deserve actual nominations.

I think Laura Wright is just written into a lot of scenes without driving a lot of story. I am sick to death of the “hell yeah” and the “hell no” ad lib lines during her scenes. She sounds like a teenager.

Maybe it comes from dating a much younger guy in real life.

@blake

Wes is 7 years younger than Laura Wright. Don’t know if that qualifies as “much”.

Tell me about it, dmr!!!! Love Laura, sick of Carly!!
To reply to Steve’s comment:..,
Yes, 7 years, in the grand scheme of things, is nothing.
I don’t know if it’s just me, but Laura’s love, Wes, does not look his age….a very youthful appearance. I must say, though, I appreciate the fact that Laura is ‘natural’ and not knife-happy, compared to those whose faces look like they’ve been stung by bees.

MARLA ADAMS SUPPORTER ALL THE WAY….FANTASTIC ACTRESS!!!!!!!!!!!DEFINITELY DESERVES TO WIN …..

Y-E-S!!!!! For a change, BOTH Steve Burton and Maurice Benard are NOT nominated this year!!!!! THANK GOD!!!!!

Later.

Well, then…I guess I didn’t read all of the lists all the way through.

Take care, Mr. Fairman.

THUD.

Yay! No Maurice Benard!
Yay! No Hunter King!

How’s that for editing…

James…to me, Brother, that’s editing at it’s FINEST!!!!! Yep.

Have a good one, Brother.

Echo…Echo….Echooooing you, Jamesj…yeah!!

Hello James…so good to see your posts. And I’m glad you asked, because I’m in a quandary about GH. The only reason I’ve stuck the past 2 years is my love for Billy Miller. He is the best Billy Abbott that ever will be and he worked so hard to make Jason palatable and interesting. And though the actors have made a difficult situation at least partially successful, I believe, like many, that all knees bend (inexplicably) to Steve Burton and that Billy was shafted. Until…he reminded us of what a great actor, and apparently a real gentlemanly professional, he is and has made Drew his own original character that will allow Billy the range of emotions that the Jason character doesn’t get to reveal. It may end up being the best thing to happen to him, and the audience. On other fronts, I’m as appalled as you and countless others about the Genie Francis decision. It’s an insult to her and to us. I’m bored to death with Sonny, Lulu, Dante, Nathan, Griffin, Franco, Nina, loathsome Valentin, repulsive Charlotte, Finn, Jordan…You get the picture. I perk up when I see Julian (sorry but the guy is so damn sexy), Liesl, Molly, Laura, Curtis (love his friendship with Drew), Spencer, and the fabulous Maura West, although I don’t like Ava. So I remain loyal for now but also sad for the halcyon days of all soaps. I guess, sadly, they reflect the times we live in…and cater to them. How sad. Cheers, James. Keep in touch! We need you here!

Oh, Jamesj75, where to begin. You remind me of myself in regard to the glory days past. Unlike some, I LOVE nostalgia and don’t find anything wrong with it. Like our dear Celia quoted from Wordsworth, I do find strength in what remains because we ARE our experiences. I grew up in the late 1960s/early 70s when everything good still seemed possible. The singer/songwriter era was my life..I just hung on the records of Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, Carly Simon…these records spoke to me. They were MY feelings and someone else understood and felt the same. And guess what….I still play those records (along with rare, new stuff also) and derive strength and joy from them. Also from the brilliant movies of that era (NASHVILLE, THE WAY WE WERE, KLUTE, SUNDAY BLOODY SUNDAY) — we’ll never see the likes of those daring, original works again. But, I’ve come to peace with that by realizing that art lives on thru DVD, etc, as do books, anything that feeds you. I read once that if you have the arts in your life, you’ll never be lonely. I believe that. Maybe it will be true for you as well. At least you have the ability to appreciate the past…most people don’t and today’s generation couldn’t care less. Now…regarding GH, I’ve adored Anna/Finola since the 80s and I wonder how she feels about Genie’s brutal ouster. Unforgivable! I also admired Sarah Brown, more as Claudia Zacchara than as Carly. I will never forget that courtroom confession in 2008 when she desperately tried to free her son/brother Johnny from murder charges. Electrifying! What acting! And I live your feelings about too much mob and the resulting violence. Last summer there was a scene of Jason tied up and being beaten by Helena’s goon, while she cheered, “More, more” with orgasmic ecstasy. I counted 11 punches, brutal ones, way too realistic. James, I actually stopped making dinner because I was so sickened. There’s enough evil in the real world. I don’t need or WANT that kind of story or realism. If I do, I’ll watch CSI, which also glorified violence. I’m going on too long but would like to share my favorite actors and more in a different post. All the more reason for you to keep in touch. I’d like to know your thought on the Jason/Drew story!

Hi Soaphound…

Just a teeny correction…It was me who quoted Wordsworth on this page! 🙂 Glad you liked the quote; I’ve always loved it!

Steve Burton for the win!

Uh…N-O!!!!!

Hi, Matthew,
I have really begun to appreciate Steve his subtle nuances, Matthew. He has that quiet, decisive manner about him, almost methodical; as if by rote…yet, I cannot condone a criminal. But, this is about talent, not what a character is….
Everyone will get a good laugh over this, but; I nominate Kathleen Gati—-how does someone who shows a face ( pretty at that) with tears running down her cheeks, yet expressing no emotion except for an ” Oh, well”-kind of countenance, such as Kelly Monaco, get a nomination and not this “never-fails-to-surprise-me” thespian of the acting ‘elite’, does not? I thought emoting was what makes an actor/actress a thespian of ‘the higher kind’.
And, Gati is different….every time, she offers something new on the plate. Each more palatable than the other.
At least Steve got his….and I feel he is being “judged” on past performances and because he is Steve Burton….he has not been on that long this time around. Don’t get me wrong, I am not trying to negate his talent….I like him very much and he is a superb actor. But, I think this is what he does all the time….one dimensional. I cannot see how someone gets a thousand and one nominations and win by doing the same stint all the time. ….like a traind dog jumping through a hoop. How many times can one see that and not know the outcome?
I don’t know….Ms Gati has been on ( albeit off and on) for a while.
Today….today, I lost it….I lost myself in Liesl’s tears of pain…I was sobbing so hard, I got the hiccups.
” Mein liebchen”….”Mein Sohn”……. no words ever sound more besutiful words; more hsunting than those to me….profoundly touching and personal !! Only a mother, Matthew…only a mother!!

Marla Adams and Camryn Grimes…. sigh. Do we have to choose? Both were dynamite this year!!

Marla Adams was/is amazing as Dina Mergeron!

Yeeesss!! Go Marla!!

Amen, kalamaty. Two “beyond brilliant” performances this year. Such breathtaking moments with Dina’s illness and Mariah’s confessions to Tessa. Acting (from ANY show or movie) at its finest.

I guess Camryn is too young for younger actress.

Eileen was fabulous as Susan. For me, it’s between Marla and Eileen.

Ahhh, Susan!!!!! Who else can wear/have those teeth and leave such an impact, but Eileen? Yeeesss, agreed, Mo.

Oh, I liked seeing your post today, kalamaty. I dearly love Miss Adams and Miss Grimes on Y&R. They are actors and characters with whom I wan to spend time, and who are versatile to step into the forefront and percolate with heat on a back burner, too. WIN WIN!

Yeah….that’s a bummer,…so hard to choose, Kalamity.

Cannot look away when Marla and Camryn are on screen!

@Mark Y.
Absolutely, Mark Y. Each has her own style, as different as night and day…..yet, we are drawn to their every action and await their every word, in anticipation….”cannot look away”…They are that inspiring to me.

With all of the drama, intrigue, pathos, passion and fury that goes on within these comment pages, would it be reasonable to request that we have our own Michael Fairman SoapFan Awards?

@Phyllis…I love your idea, and might I add, I would nominate you as favorite character actress…your entertaining posts—-of which far too few apparently make it here online—-are always a delight and laugh riot to behold! Regardless, it is never anything less than a real treat when I do see your name and sentiments actually materialize on these threads! Keep on keepin’ on, “Saucy Lady!”

Marla seriously GREAT!!! Camryn’s coming out and when she
confronted (Tessa) on how she felt….was most probably the best acting
I’ve seen by her in forever. These two women (Marla & Camryn) truly
deserve EMMY’S Call it a tie at the podium.

Hey, Fanny,
Neil giving Hilary a baby didn’t even cross my mind….but, I like it. After Hilary and Devon had that exchange ( about her wanting a baby and looking for a sperm donor), it felt like Devon was going to offer his services tout-de-suite. LOL.
I definitely agree with your choices. Marla is a seosoned thespian and never disappoints….but, Mariah just broke my heart by ‘exposing’ herself…..her heart was naked for everyone to see….her performance was both torturous and awesome to watch. It was such effortless acting, I felt she bared her soul to me alone….so credible!!

And don’t forget the episode when she showed Noah her diary with tears glistening in her eyes. I was crying right along with her. I think Tessa got what she deserved. Even though he sometimes annoys me, I hope for Mariah’s sake that he makes amends with her

@CeeCee, Morning Sweets…
What I meant to say was …I wanted Neil back on
screen ASAP, Devon running the show without him
feels like there’s a void in the room.. And truthfully
Neil & Ashley would make a smart, beautiful pairing,
together they’d make heads turn. Hillary and Devon
belong to one another…Devon never fell out of love
with her, she’ll get her baby with him.

Hi, my lady, Fanny,
I agree, Devon is deeply in love with Hilary….so obvious. That’s why I said he seemed to want to jump right into ‘helping’ her with her having-a-baby-plight.
As I mentioned somewhere else, I bet Mishael is pregnant in real life; ergo, the urgency of having a baby.
Neil and Ashley? Hmmmm. Never thought about it. Were they involved before? I don’t remember. I think he and Vicoria ( Heather Tom) were involved at one point….

I say make it a tie and let them each get one!!

Finola Hughes was missing from these lists. Taking on Anna and Alex and different stories, one after the other. What the??

I am mystified with; when so many actors are heralded year in and year out

HELLO ?

two of the worst nominations … plus Laura Wright

Chad Duell, GH – and – Bryton James, Y&R

I will never figure out how this happens.

D – U – L – L

Glad you said it first, Patrick. Bryton James gets a nomination virtually every year… For what?!?!

LOL, Patrick….Devon showed some spunk when confronting Tessa….maybe there’s still hope?

@CeeCee, hoping Devon gives her the boot. Finds new talent…
We get Neil back soon…Gives Hillary a baby….for starters.

Agreed, Patrick. Unless the award is for prettiest hair, don’t know why Chad is there. And Bryton? He can’t even claim good hair with the buzz cut.

Yeah, Howard!!! Nancy Grahn, Marci Miller, Melissa Egan, Kelly Monaco ( so out there) over Finola? Where’s the reasoning?? Bah!!

Really, CeeCeeGirl….No Genie or Finola???? Apparently non-scenery chewing GH actresses GH need not apply!

@Shay.
Exactly, Shay,
I don’t know….perhaps, it’s just moi? But, I don’t get that good, fuzzy feeling when I see Alexis…as I do with Genie….and Finola is just exciting to watch….both have that intangible IT factor….
Alexis has come a long way for me….I ‘d like her to stay that way without Julian’s dark presence….
At the same time, as good as an actress Nancy is……her delivery is not natural; one can see she’s ‘acting’……Finola and Genie are born to this…it’s an innate gift, and it comes out in their delivery.
So, it is stunning to me!!!!!

How in the world is Bryton James even considered on a pre-nomination list? The guy is not a horrible actor but no one will ever confuse him for Denzel Washington. Maybe I’m impartial, I’ve always thought James’ character, Devon, and Cane Ashby were uninteresting and, to keep both actors employed in those roles, was a complete waste of scarce money that could go to better actors and screen time that could be given to other characters. But I digress.

I really hope that Marla Adams ultimately wins in her category.

Completely agree with you, Barbara!

I know , right ? lets at least see Devon… spending his 2 billion dollars

doing something with personality.

he’s tapped in as filler to fill the void of person(s) of color. and that’s bad… because I do not see one shred of capability and reason enough to keep him? what for ?

as i’m going to start .. there are so many … so many other men who would love to get their chops on and MOVE that much farther. Devon is boring and dull

Yes, let’s give those two billion to Mac, Patrick!!

Thorns in my side, Barbara…you said it best…Cane and Devon….why ??

Cannot stand Cane he is the male version of Sam on GH.

It’s ridiculous that this is not televised!!!

THEE – ONE – SNUB

Brian Datillo – Lucas , Days of OUR Lives

Omg, you are right!!! How did he not get nominated?!?!?!

Oh yes, forgot about him, but he definitely should have been prenomed! Shameful!

Yes…he played the perfect hurt lover, father and drunk….he is another actor who brought me to my knees. Shame on me for forgetting that unforgettable performance.

OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTRESS ;
GH.
Laura Wright,
the one that needs to be shot with a tranquillizer gun simply because she is the screaming banshee and that deserves an award.

No way for Kelly Monaco..
She is a Professional Cryer…
Every time she has one of her nose dripping crying jags, some yell she needs an Emmy, for best sniffling, not gonna happen, hopefully.
……………………….

OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTOR ;
GH.
Billy Miller..
as Jason Morgan/Drew Cain..
he has played 3 characters; Jake, Jason, Drew.. He deserves top recognition. He owns it.
And he deserves an award for having SB return and shiten on him.
………………………………..

OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS;
GH.
Marla Adams, as Dina Mergeron ,,,,,,, BRAVA !!
I have no words great enough to describe her performance as an elderly woman suffering from Alzheimers.. (lovin’ her)
………………………………………

OUTSTANDING YOUNGER ACTRESS;
GH.
Chloe Lanier, as Nelle Benson..
She brings it home in every scene..
…………………………………….

OUTSTANDING YOUNGER ACTOR;
Y&R
Tristan Lake Leabu, as Reed Hellstrom.
And;
GH.
Garren Stitt, as Oscar Nero

—- it’s a tie !!
……………………………………….

OK–
I only watch GH and Y&R.. therefore my picks..

Marla Adams is on Y&R, su0000.

hi 4ever,,
I know,, 0ooops!
I have to say.. I love Marla Adams (of Y&R lol)
She is giving an outstanding performance I hope she wins, she is deserving.

I agree with all your pics, but would love to see the young Hudson West win, as little Jake. That kid can really act, putting some older actors to shame. He did a stint a while back on Greys Anatomy, and was amazed at his acting abilities.

My comment above was in reply to SuOOOO, but it never seems to get in the right place. Don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

Hi Violet Lemm…

I was having a problem with comment placement, too. However, it only happened when I was using my Samsung tablet! Sometimes from my cell phone. However, seems to be fine when responding from my desktop. So, THAT’S been strange! Comments would just seem to pick a random spot. At least yours landed in the right thread! 😉

Bascially, just reply under the actual reply box (where you literally see the word “reply” in black under a comment,( regardless of how many people posted under it) of the person you want to respond to. There were a bunch of comments under Su’s original comment but I posted directly under your comment; hopefully it should land under it. Et voila! If it doesn’t, I got nutthin’!

Hope this helps!

🙂

Oh my!!! The world must be shifting on it’s axis because I … GASP …..agree with you, man! Lol. Maybe not for ultimately who will win each category, but definitely the descriptive language you used on each one were spot on and hilarious!!! Lol. Your descriptions of Sam and Carly? PERFECTION! Lol!! Marla Adams YES. Chloe Lanier? YES! I don’t know what Nelle’s endgame or throughline, nor why she is so frickin weird out of the blue, lol, but I love her!! Anyone who causes grief, distress, and angst to Sonny and Carly is A-Ok in my books! I have a troubling feeling Nelle is going to have to somehow go after Maxie’s baby, but I think that’s a shame! There is enough drama in BOTH pregnancies to ensure baby drama for years to come!! I like Tristan Lake! He plays a very realistic teenager, surly and spoiled, but tender hearted. I think for straight up drama though, Casey Moss is going to be tough to beat! You usually enjoy misery and such, I thought you of all people would be all over JJ’s Christmas suicide attempt!

NOSE DRIPPING CRYING JAGS! Lmao! You said that! I love it. I’m not the biggest Sam fan, but I think KM has done some stellar work lately.

Anyway, good post Su! I enjoyed it. I laughed!

Agreed, su….also, Kelly Monaco did step up a bit, but, not enough to deserve anything. I feel the same way about Nancy Grahn….other than her A-grade performance of her bout with alcoholism, she is a no go, in my humble opinion. Not even an A+ For me.
You don’t watch Days, but, Judi Evans and Eileen Davidson are so unique because they both play dual characters on the same show—it cannot be so simple to switch personalities ….it takes work and talent…not an easy feat.
Mary Beth is another exceptional contender.

@CeeCee.. Kelly/Sam only came alive when OJ/ Steve Burton was in a scene
with her….otherwise she’s one note like Maurice B,Chad D, Billy M, and so many others.
Their not breathing LIFE into their characters…R they so blasé that they no longer
care….it comes across that WAYYYYYYYY!!! So comfortable in this role, been here
forever ….taking it for granted instead of bringing it.

@Fanny.
Hey, again, Fanny,
Oh, I am right up there with you. I have only seen Sam show any signs od life, interest or a sense of anything, twice….maybe three times. She is not fun….ever!! Hardly ever smiles—Ahh, Sam, morose is thy name!
One note is right….but, it takes an entire concerto to even teach her that one ‘note’.
Billy M did well with Liz…unfortunately, now, the character can’t seem to exist without Sam’s demoralizing presence.
Billy Abbott is forever gone.

@CeeCee….I’m not all that bothered by Kelly’s pre-nom because it will probably end up being just that….I would be surprised if she made it into the final round given her often too-subtle expressions of emotion vs. some of the other powerhouse players she is up against….hence this little pat on the back for her past year’s efforts really hurts no one. But the overrated NLG kudos are truly unwarranted…for what? A sloshed Alexis drowning her self-pitying sorrows in the bottom of a bottle whilst trotting about town in all of her condescending glory telling everyone how to live when she hasn’t a clue about her own considerable shortcomings? Well, that and acting like a shameless schoolgirl in heat certainly doesn’t deserve any applause…it’s just more of the same old, same old from this ignominious creature! Genie Francis and Finola Hughes’ respective Laura and Anna both gave much more gripping, skilled and praiseworthy performances than that hideously-hackneyed character ever could….it’s quite disappointing to see their considerable talents go unrewarded once again.

@Shay.
Hi, Shay,
Believe me, as I stated on the other site, Genie Francis is like no other—-whatever character dhe plays…..she pours her heart and soul into said character. And, her smile brought dundhinr….there is no comparison.
Nancy Grahn, as far as I sm concerned, is not in the same league as Finola and Genie….
Nancy plsyed the best drunk ever….fighting her demons and alll. But, that record has been played so much, the chips and scrstches make it impossible to plsy it….

@Shay,
Oh, sweet Jesus!! LOL…Sunshine!!…” …her smile brought sunshine”… WOW!!
Anyone with a three-year old in tow, at my elbow, will understand the typos. LOL. Nap-time….doing better…
It is so baffling to me, not only that Finola has not been given the honor of a nomination…but, Ari Zucker ( DOOL), as well.
Are you familiar with her acting? She has a killer talent, Shay….and gorgeous, to boot. I am not in these people’s heads….therefore, I hope it’s not politics.

Su…
Chloe Lanier can win for cutest nose! Check that sucker out…total button nose! LOL… …..But, she sheds more tears in a nano second…and definitely would beat out Kelly Monaco/Sam for best watershedder! (I love Sam…and I think Kelly’s been phenomenal. Chloe? She’s good but almost turning into a one-note character. Sneer, tear, repeat.

Hi Rebecca. This is in reply to the email you sent. I had to reply here, because it says not to reply on there. What’s a gal to do? Thanks so much for trying to help, and I do usually use my Samsung. Also agree with most of your comments, and love M.F board.

Hi Violet…

You’re welcome! But, I’m confused…what do you mean when you said “it says not to reply on there…” Where? LOL…Splain, please…

And thanks for you saying you agree with most of my comments! 😉

Rebecca, thanks so much for your mention to me of the inspirational quote by William Wordsworth! Words (and Wordsworth!) worth remembering, and so true…

“thankfully” times goes by

RIGHT THE WRONG – Clifton Scott and Steve Burton WINNING emmys ????? what the hell for ?

they won…. over John McCook , John Anniston, James Reynolds. ’nuff said

how embarrassing to the Emmy panel.

DONT” you DARE nominate Michael Easton.

Hey, Patrick…..I say “Finn for the Win” just for playing “The Cat Card”….a line so nice they played it twice!!!! It truly was the ultimate “catty” comment…can you say “Meow?” Lol…..

OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES

Sharon Case, as Sharon Newman, The Young and the Restless, CBS
Eileen Davidson, as Ashley Abbott, The Young and the Restless, CBS
Gina Tognoni, as Phyllis Summers, The Young and the Restless, CBS
Melissa Claire Egan, as Chelsea Newman, The Young and the Restless, CBS

Judi Evans, as Adrienne Kiriakis/Bonnie Lockhart, Days of Our Lives, NBC

Kelly Monaco, as Sam McCall, General Hospital, ABC
Maura West, as Ava Jerome, General Hospital, ABC
Laura Wright, as Carly Corinthos, General Hospital, ABC
Nancy Lee Grahn, as Alexis Davis, General Hospital, ABC

TOP 5 deserving to CUT –

from GH : Maura West will eclipse ALL the “other” nominees from GH. RIGHTFULLY so. Kelly and Laura Laugh out LOUD. from the dullard Corinthos’ Clan… did nothing.. to FEATURE a woman… with depth, layers, clarity, nothing REAL going on here. just their to prop as a mob wife. ho hum . Nancy period… why does her virtue entitle her staying power. I TRULY HOPE GH just dumps her pairing with Julian.

from Y&R : Sharon Case.. fan sentiment and yes, I do follow all the posters on this site. this has been the most quiet I’ve ever “heard and/or read” about the whole show. none of her co-stars fits the bill as leading any thing. bam. Sharon CUTS

from DAYS: ALL these women ROCK – stir – deliver – impacted their characters that much more

Marci Miller : is cut from the old school of camera presence and how she carries herself. when you have the hottest 1/2 of the BEST COUPLE ON DAYTIME. who project each other with subtlety , care, and layer all the emotions with nuanced delivery. they display LOVE SEX and PASSION all over the place.

Mary Beth Evans: Kayla my Kayla Kayla. she’s never taken for granted.. so much respect for MBE as an actor. dang! she displays all the warmth , love, care, and tenderness… that she’s written. you want to talk about how expressive Steve Burton eyes are ? take the time to just wow yourself at how at ease Kayla REELS it ALL.

Judi Evans : she is such a pure delight… her genuine spirit SOARS when she’s on script. boy did she NAIL EVERY THING. from comedic timing to full on drama… from breast cancer, to farcical comedy, to giving us all shades of love and heartache. she owns you… and she’ll never tell you that. she nails her take

TOP 5 who CUT:

Sharon Case, Y&R
Maura West, GH
Marci Miller, DAYS
Judi Evans, DAYS
Mary Beth Evans, DAYS

WILL WIN : Maura West, GH
SHOULD WIN : Judi Evans, DAYS

as a Newbie surprise : Marci Miller, DAYS.. for her clean, depth, layered portrait. look outside the box.. the over the top histrionics is one thing… and it makes for giddy delight however misguiding.

I would love to see Judi win. She was fabulous as Bonnie. It’s nice to have comedy in the soaps. She also did well with her drama. Now if we could just find her back on Days. She’s been AWOL lately.

OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES

GET IT !!!!

5 MEN @DAYS get nods

this is big because they are that qualified

Billy Flynn, as Chad DiMera, Days of Our Lives, NBC
Galen Gering, as Rafe Hernandez, Days of Our Lives, NBC
Eric Martsolf, as Brady Black, Days of our Lives, NBC
Stephen Nichols, as Steve “Patch” Johnson, Days of Our Lives, NBC
James Reynolds, as Abe Carver, Days of Our Lives, NBC

new crush: Billy Flynn! always heard the name; didn’t know who he was. now I do and wow! Ditto Eric Marstoff! He can snark you with just one look! Devishly dashing!

“before” the wilderbeast start charging – Y&R rightfully gets three nods for wonderment

1. Marla Adams – from the word “go” or “action” she never stopped… didn’t have to reign in anything… she JUST’LY deliver’

I adore this woman.

2. Camryn Grimes – from child star to full on womanhood… Mariah imbues her character with more acting skill than the genre itself. she’s that captivating… doesn’t steal the show… but leaves an indelible mark. she’s solid .

3. Max Shippee – Graham. theres a very disarming display of character(s) going on here. that any one would have wanted him redeemable… and ON THE SHOW . not since Michael and Kevin the Baldwin brothers started… have we seen anything like Max/Graham. NICE INDEED. KEEPS

CHEERS to Genoa City for three big gains

OK OK . I will forever LOVE MY Traci ABBOTT

I agree with you. I have been a Traci Abbott lover since I started watching when she was fighting with Lauren over Danny. The good old days

@Soapqueenforever.
Hi, Soapqueen,
It seems that Lauren fought every woman over any man….LOL. She’s another who slept with every guy, available or not….or so I heard….
I think ( as per my Gran) Lauren wrecked Jack (Terry Lester) and Patty’s marriage? Correct me if I’m wrong…. Can’t be sure. My grandmother is 77, with a sharp wit and memory. However, this was almost forty years ago….and Lauren still looks the same. LOL.
Not only that, but Lauren was a bully….always persecuting and ridiculing Traci about her weight….who then became addicted to diet pills.

Team Camryn!

Love Camryn, Mark Y….the moment she poured her heart out to her mother simply did me in, as it were. I have always been a fan, but, at that moment I fell right back under her spell…love, love, love her. Even as a little girl ( I was a little girl myself, but I remember), it was so obvious Camryn was born to the stage.

Happy with most of the Days nominations. Soooo glad that Eileen Davidson is in it for Best Supporting Actress for playing Susan Banks. I really hope she wins it, she deserves it just for that one episode of Susan’s breakdown!

Glad to see the men of Days nominated like the actors who play JJ, Tripp, Joey, Brady, Chad and Eric. I could see JJ taking the Best Younger Actor for his Christmas scenes.

Sooo glad to see Judi Evans nominated, she should get it just for playing Bonnie and Adrienne, who are polar opposites. She kills it as Bonnie! Glad Kayla is nominated also, I just wish Kate was nominated, she’s one of Days’ best actresses and character.

Marci Miller as Best Lead Actress? Yikes! And Claire and Ciara as Best Younger Actresses? Hilarious, especially Claire.

I’m surprised Hope wasn’t nominated since she’s been Ken Corday’s pet for so many years now.

This was the best year daytime has had in several years. It seems every show had a standout storyline that featured great talent. As always, certain actors did not get acknowledged or didn’t submit their work for the awards. There are some actors that seem to not be in the correct category. I believe some actors are more “Supporting” rather than “Lead,” and vice versa.

As I have stated before, I am a faithful “DOOL” and “B&B” watcher. But I am aware of the great talent and storylines on “Y&R” and “GH.” Laura Wright, Gina Tognoni and Eileen Davidson are electrifying whenever they are on screens.

As far as omissions go, it is hard to not see Alison Sweeney’s Sami not make the list. The few months she was on the show sent ripples through the show that is still being felt today. Camilla Banks has done great work the year and has great chemistry with whomever she shares a scene. I continue to struggle that Lauren Koslow did not receive a “Lead Actress” nomination. I would have liked to have seen Freddie Smith nominated as Sonny for his scenes in Memphis and finding Will alive. On “B&B”, I would have liked to have seen Rena Sofer, Katherine Kelly Lang and Heather Tom receive recognition. Where was Coutrney Hope’s nomination? She was the best addition to the “B&B” cast in 2017.

As much as I have read, Lead Actress will go to Maura West this year. She was great on “ATWT” and is great on “GH.” Lead Actor will most likely be Peter Bergman or James Reynolds. If James does not get nominated for Abe’s scenes at Theo’s bedside, there should be an immediate recount. It would be great to see John McCook make the final list of nominees.

For Supporting Actress, Marla Adams, Ari Zucker and Eileen Davidson (Susan) could easily win. I am not sure why Jacqueline MacInnes Wood is in the Supporting category since she has had more screen time than any other actor on “B&B.” For Supporting Actor, I predict Chandler Massey, James Patrick Stuart or Steve Burton.

For Younger Actress, I was surprised to see Reign Edwards (Nicole, B&B) nominated. It seemed she has been off the show more than on screen. On the other hand, it seems premature to see Victoria Konefal (Ciara, DOOL) be nominated since she has only been on the show for less than three months. I do not have a favorite pick in this category. For Younger Actor, I like Lucas Adams, as Tripp Dalton, Pierson Fode (Thomas needs to be recast ASAP), but Casey Moss DOMINATES this category. How many actors in this category had an entire episode devoted to their character? JJ’s thoughts of suicide really a nerve and he should win hands down.

Case owns this if she submitted what I think she did and yes I am a fan I also wish like Michael Logan that Daniel Goddard/ Cane would have got a nod we need some new faces. MTS / Nikki how many years and gets ignored she had some good work this year !

Do you know how you feel when the same record keeps playing and playing that’s how we feel when these nominations come out! Stop it their are some good actors that work hard give them some credit too

OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS IN A DRAMA SERIES

BAR NONE – the toughest category.

Marla Adams, as Dina Mergeron, The Young and the Restless, CBS
Camryn Grimes, as Mariah Copeland, The Young and the Restless, CBS
Elizabeth Hendrickson, as Chloe Mitchell, The Young and the Restless, CBS
Mishael Morgan, as Hilary Curtis, The Young and the Restless, CBS

Nadia Bjorlin, as Chloe Lane, Days of Our Lives, NBC
Eileen Davidson, as Susan Banks, Days of Our Lives, NBC
Susan Hayes, as Julie Williams, Days of Our Lives, NBC
Arianne Zucker, as Nicole Walker, Days of Our Lives, NBC

Lisa LoCicero, as Olivia Falconeri, General Hospital, ABC

Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, as Steffy Forrester Spencer, The Bold and the Beautiful, CBS

this is TOO hard to break down.

ALL of the women @Y&R deserve this. ALL of them. my heart goes with Marla. for NEWBIE TALENT that has to be recognized to make this awarding with merit. i’d love to see Mishael Morgan.. WALK WITH THIS WIN. to proudly proclaim her contribution.

i’ll give this some color. she’s one of the BEST person of color I’ve ever seen. I once posted she reminded me of how Diana ross was, in Lady sings the blues. that touching, that revealing, that in touch with her characters drive, her ambitions, her torn affliction, her take

@DAYS. Eileen DAvidson, ALL the way. it’s “Days” loss she isn’t taken with making DOOL her place of employment.
@Days. it’s sheer delight to see Susan Seaforth Hayes nominated…. she is a wise cracks me up… on the prowl and direct with all the denizen .
@Days. Ari Zucker. what a nice send off… boy does the audience miss her.. because we NEED GregVaughn.. the HOTTEST drool … to be featured.. Jenny Bear will not do
@days. Nadia Bjorlin. WOW okay I do this with this lady… SHE”S SO beautiful… and has always delivered… I read that she’s been let go. I don’t like this at all. she’s the only one currently who can bring Greg Vaughan ALIVE.

@GH . huh? what happened to all the GH ladies. i’m always happy when Lisa LoCicero, Olivia Falconeri Quartermaine gets in the mix. her chutzpa tangoes

THEY ALL need to win and deserve this

woah !

Marla / Eileen / Camryn / Mishael / Lisa

wow – tough

come on, come from behind… in the shadows no less… Mishael Morgan, Y&R

it’s either Marla @Y&R – or – Eileen Davidson @Days.

Nadia is on maternity leave from Days.

Oh, wow!!! I did not realize she was pregnant again, Mo…thanks.

Celia,

Nadia has two sons. I didn’t like how SOD put Nadia’s picture on their cover a couple weeks ago and said she was leaving. I guess it’s to get you to buy the mag. Anyway, reading inside, it said she was on maternity leave. I don’t know when Nadia/Chloe will be back. Her leave could well be over by now as Days tapes months in advance.

Thanks, Mo. where have I been? I honestly thought she only had one son. WOW!! Busy Mom.

what did they do just list 90% of the soap stars??? what’s up with that???

Camryn Grimes ALL THE WAY!!!! You go girl and congrats!

Arianne Zucker in supporting? If she wasn’t lead no one was. Judi Evans should be supporting where she would be a shoe in.

Yes, Mike…agree.

I’d like to add my choices for several categories…

Outstanding lead actress…Nancy Grahn, or But then that’s because Laura does such a good job.

Outstanding lead actor…John McCook..loved seeing him break out of the his regular calm Eric role when discovering Quinn had had a thing with Ridge. And his followup performances as to whether he would forgive.

Outstanding supporting actress…Tough between Marla and Camryn, but was so impressed on how Marla seamlessly switched personalities during Dina’s episodes. And as i’ve said before, a lovely, accomplished actress. She gets my vote.

Outstanding supporting actor…I’m even surprising myself, but picking Steve Burton.

Outstanding younger actress…Hayley Erin. Am very impressed how she has grown and matured as an actress the last few years. An now she is in Med school!

Somehow part of my outstanding lead actress wasn’t included.

So try again…

Outstandig lead actress…Nancy Graham, Maura West or Laura Wright. They each had challenging moments where they delivered. As for Laura, I really, really don’t like Carly so that must mean Laura is really, really doing her job.

OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES

Darin Brooks, as Wyatt Spencer, The Bold and the Beautiful, CBS

Steve Burton, as Jason Morgan, General Hospital, ABC
Chad Duell, as Michael Corinthos. General Hospital, ABC
Wally Kurth, as Ned Quartermaine. General Hospital, ABC
Anthony Montgomery, as Dr Andre Maddox, General Hospital, ABC
James Patrick Stuart, as Valentin Cassadine, General Hospital, ABC

Chandler Massey, as Will Horton, Days of Our Lives, NBC
Greg Vaughan, as Eric Brady. Days of Our Lives, NBC

Greg Rikaart, as Kevin Baldwin, The Young and the Restless, CBS
Bryton James, as Devon Hamilton, The Young and the Restless, CBS

WITHOUT Question – cause i’m not trying to convince myself… another loaded category

Wally Kurth, GH
James Patrick Stuart, GH
Greg Rikaart, Y&R
Chandler Massey, DAYS
Greg Vaughan, DAYS

@GH – get off the bandwagon- now – and save face. Steve Burton ( oh so dull Chad Duell)) ARE STUCK in my telee. he’s not penetrating with his eyes… or any thing else.

Andre came on like gangbusters. kudos to his CHARACTER.

WHO SHOULD BE NOMINATED @GH: Wally Kurth… his scenes with mom Tracy Quartermaine… his doing double duty… and excelling ( @GH & DOOL ) .. he’s that sought after… for so many reasons outside of his HOTTED ME OUT SEX factor… he portrays men with intelligence and power and is driven… AND that’s sexy. BOTH SHOWS , are smart to keep him… I don’t see him ever leaving either show. he’s it

James Patrick Stuart : he still owns GH. along w/ Scotty, Kevin, Mac all the smart sexy dudes. he may not be the bad guy he was projected… but he owns up to his acting… GIVES GH so much to work with. smolders rejuvenates… gives all his leading ladies and all the audience savor treat and the main reason to tune in.

Y&R: Greg Rikaart. JUST DESSERTS for all the Y&R fans who are , to this day, so nonplussed, that Y&R would let this man go. I say here ye here ye. ABSOLUTELY this man OWNS his acting

DAYS:

Chandler Massey : if ever there was a 2nd coming… ie: soon to be flatline Steve Burton. Will coming back to life… Sparked, ignited and righted a wrong. he’s been deemed , BY HIS PEERS.. 3 times emmied. Thank You Chandler

Greg Vaughan : inarguably the BEST looking man… with more than enough talent. when all the hoopla was going on about the dire twinset @GH… Jason and Drew. here was the brothers dueling sparring and exchanging wit and sweat… Eric and Brady. Greg Vaughan has proven … there is so much more

Does Melody Thomas Scott not put her name in the running? How she’s gone all these years with never winning and only having one nomination is beyond me!

I often said the same thing about Katherine Kelly Lang from The Bold and the Beautiful. She had many wonderful performance over the years. Susan Flannery even sang her praises in a couple of interviews I have seen with the two of them together. As the saying goes, whats wrong with this picture?

I’ve oft wished … year in and year out… that an all out celebration for THIS woman… is necessary. I don’t think this genre could mean anything… till it’s last breath. give Melody Thomas Scott… her due

HECK.. if for nothing else… for standing next to and putting up with, Eric Braedon

SHE may have had the toughest job of all…. yes, she reigns

SHE debuted in February, 1979 .

if I’ve read anything correctly.. it seems she has been nominated but the one time in 1999. perhaps she hasn’t wanted to submit.

nonetheless. she deserves to be heralded

on a siebar : MUST BREAK THIS

H-E-A-T-H-E-R Tom : IS NOT NOMINATED any more

iPatrick…I agree with you re: Melody. Why has she not been nominated do you think? Is it her choice? Since I started watching Y&R a few years ago she has always seemed to have a good, interesting storyline. And is consistent in her delivery. I like how she has handled some of the challenges she has been up against. Except maybe Victor, but at least she draws a line at the Ranch sometimes.

And Nikki is soooo unlike her counterpart on the power couple of GH…Carly who is constantly interfering with everyone from the Jasons, Sam, and her kids; never seeming to do anything for charity; rarely looking at her own history or flaws; nagging; and just being a shrew.

Not to take away from Laura. She’s terrific at playing Carly But Go Melody!

HEY HEY HEY

get it here… DAYS LEADS the Pack

On January 25 the national television academy announced the pre-nominations for the 2018 Daytime Emmy Awards, and “Days of Our Lives’ leads the way with 20 entries, followed by “General Hospital” with 17, “The Young and the Restless” with 15, and “The Bold and the Beautiful” rounding out the list with 9.

For kicks I’ve spent the last two nights watching YouTube clips of GH from 1998. Seach for “GH alan’s addiction.” 73 clips of Stuart Damon giving it all he’s got in a terrific story line that weaves in so many other characters. It was his only Emmy and he deserved every golden inch of it. The writing is something else — you really cared about the characters. … This is the GH that I miss.

I agree with you Jimbo. I stopped watching in the mid-eighties. The late seventies to mid-eighties in my opinion was when the show was at its prime. They don’t make them like that anymore.

Last year i got 7 out of 9 winners right.
For younget actor Casey Moss will win.

Younger actress will most likely be reign edwards.

Supporting actor is a tough one but its either gonna be Chandler Massey, Greg Vaughn, or James PPatrick Stuart

Supporting actress is another tricky one. There are 3 good actresses who could take it home…Camryn Grimes, Marla Adams, or Arianne Zucker

Lead actress coukd go to Judi Evans, Gina Tognoni, or Maura West. I rememver last year when i said Gina would win and nobody believed me.

Lead actor will wither be Scott Clifton, Peter Bergman, or Billy Flynn.

Writing twam will easily go to Days. I font see anyone else winning. Ron C wrote some of the most compelling stories last year.

Directing will either go to B&B or GH

Drama will be a good one but im predicting Days of our lives for the win.

sorry but I don’t think Gina will get a nomination this year what did she do last year. I think Sharon Case will get get a nom for her final scenes with Dylan was one off the best actress on YR last year.

I really think this year Sharon Case will finally get her long overdue leading actress nomination. She was the best actress on the show last year that final scene with Steve Barton (Dylan) was one off the best scene in 2017 just phenomenal work from her as always

I desperately want Sharon to get a nod. Its time and if she wins im gonna scream.

i agree Sharon was the best actress last year on YR and it is long overdue she finally gets that leading actress nomination I really think she will get a nod that final scenes with Dylan was the one off the best scenes in 2017.

What’s up it’s me, I am also visiting this site daily, this website is actually pleasant and the visitors are really sharing fastidious thoughts. cgebkebeddeceade
