53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Nominations Announced: ‘The Young and the Restless’ Tops With 18, ‘Beyond the Gates’ With 15
The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the full list of nominees for the upcoming 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, and it was CBS daytime’s The Young and the Restless and broadcast television newest soap opera, Beyond the Gates that racked up the most nominations with 18 and 15, respectively.
General Hospital was next with 13 overall nominations, followed by Days of our Lives with 8 and The Bold and the Beautiful with 7 nods. The full reveal on Tuesday, follows the announcement of several major categories including Lead Actor and Actress on Monday via Extra and Entertainment Tonight and The View today revealing Daytime Drama Series and more.
The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmys ceremony are set to take place on Friday, October 30 at the historic Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, California. The ceremony is currently planned to stream via watch.theemmys.tv and its associated apps. For the second year in a row, both the main Emmys and the Creative Arts will be presented together in one night.

In a statement, Adam Sharp, President and CEO of NATAS expressed, “We’re proud to honor the extraordinary talent and creative teams whose work continues to define and elevate daytime television, As the Daytime landscape evolves and new forms of storytelling emerge, we remain committed to recognizing the innovation happening across the industry.”
“Each year, the Daytime Emmy Awards celebrate the creativity, passion, and dedication that drive this vibrant community of storytellers,” said Rachel Schwartz, Head of the Daytime Emmy Awards. “Congratulations to this year’s nominees, whose work continues to entertain, inspire and connect with audiences every day. We look forward to celebrating their remarkable achievements in Hollywood this October.”
The Daytime Emmy Awards have recognized outstanding achievement in television programming and crafts since 1974, honoring work in a variety of genres, including daytime dramas, talk series, entertainment news, culinary, adventure, instructional and legal/courtroom programming. This year’s Lifetime Achievement Honoree, Gold & Silver Circle Inductees, and ceremony host will be announced at a later date.

Can you check with her people to see if Erika Slezak didn’t submit for Guest Performer? That’s the only logical reason she didn’t get nominated.
With her out of the running, it’s Kober vs Wise in that category.
Howarth nominated for a despised character he played for only a few months in the eligibility period? A nomination that should’ve went to Jon Lindstrom or Rick Hearst.
A well deserved nod for Setton, but Havins should’ve got one too.

I think we can all agree that Erika Slezak should have a been a shoo-in for a nomination, if not the winner for Outstanding Guest Performance. I would have liked to have seen Genie Francis, Katelyn MacMullen or Jane Elliott in the Lead Actress category. Cameron Mathison in the Lead Actor. I’d love to see Giovanni Mazza win Emerging Talent.

Y&R definitely utilized the block voting system. The one thing accurate, is they weren’t nominated for best writing!
Complain, Complain. Y & R doesn’t deserve this or that or certain nominations well they are the # 1 soap and just shut up. Watch or don’t it’s that simple
I have to admit, the number of noms Y&R got is laughable. Poor written, poorly produced…and yes, i stopped watching, moved on to GH, and it is light years ahead of where Y&R is in both production, acting and writing. It was simple to stop watching garbage and start watching something where they really try to put out a good product!
That “#1 soap” comment is tiresome! According to the ratings system, more people watch YawneR than any other soap opera. That doesn’t mean it’s the best or even good for that matter. Y&R would suffer greatly without The Price is Right as its lead-in. So, y’all need to shut up with those “#1” comments, that show stinks!
I think Y&R continues to be #1 because after the Price is Right people who were watching that fall asleep with the tv on. Y&R could put anyone to sleep. It is painfully boring. I try to come back to it & watch for a while then I think why am I wasting my time when I could be watching paint dry! I think GH is the best.

I believe the point of the boards to share thoughts. So telling people you don’t agree with to shut up is the antithesis of why we’re all here. If you can’t handle conversation, maybe it’s you who should “shut up”? But by no means do I think you should. Instead, you should share your thoughts instead of attacking those who share theirs. Middle America likes Y&R. Congrats. The #1 show has nothing to do with winning Emmys. Look at the Primetime Emmys. Tracker, NCIS, Marshalls, etc. are not even nominated. That being said, you’re a Y&R fan. By all means support them.

You know what Buddy? You are entitled to your opinion, but don’t knock others who have a different view. Y&R has some major issues right now and that’s why there’s only one executive producer and they are searching for a new head writer.
These nominations are stunning, and not in a good way. There are a lot of names I expected to see that didn’t make the list.
Unless she chose not to submit herself, I’m floored that Erika Slezak didn’t get nominated for Guest Performer. Floored. The master class scenes with her and Jane Elliot were second to none of anything I remember seeing in 2025. I figured for sure Erika had bagged her 7th Emmy, and for her to not even get a nomination is absolutely mind blowing.

She was as deserving and more so than even Erika, but it’s her personal choice not to participate, so I have to respect that. Would just love to see her get the recognition she deserves one of these years, one last time before she calls it a career.
I’m floored that GH didn’t get one Supporting Actor nomination, and Y&R got three. With names like Dominic Zamprogna, Cameron Mathison, Rick Hearst, Carlo Rota, James Patrick Stuart, among others, any one of them would have been deserving and I’m shocked that not one made the list.
Very happy for Amanda Setton, Giovanni Mazza and Braedyn Bruner for their first nominations, and all well deserved.
It’s pretty obvious that BTG is gonna be the big winner this year, and I have no issue with that whatsoever. As a GH fan, they’ve won for Best Dram Series 5 years in a row, so I have no room to complain, and I wish BTG well. The more soaps that do well, the better it is for the industry as a whole.

Jane was inducted into the Emmy Golden Circle last year, and came to the show for the first time in a decade. She likely considers that the moment she received her flowers.
Dom & Cam would have submitted in Lead. Cam carried story all year and did done if his best work ever. JPS was off screen for most of 2025. Now, next year, he should be in the thick of things.
Some of the years GH has one it wasn’t as stellar as it was in 2025. The Gio reveal, Drew’s shooting, Monica’s passing, and Laura being blackmailed by Sidwell kept the octane high all year.
Yeah, the Golden Circle moment was a wonderful honor last year. It was cool to see Jane on stage again, even for a brief moment.
Would love to see her have her own moment, be able to give a speech, the whole nine yards, But it’s obviously something that doesn’t interest her. She’d rather let her work on screen do the talking, and if that’s good enough for her, it’s good enough for me! Everyone in the industry and fans know how good Jane is, whether she gets a golden statue for it or not.
I forgot about Genie with the Sidwell blackmail, the scenes when she found Dalton’s dead body in the trunk. They never give her much anymore, but she was excellent in those scenes and the episodes that followed. She definitely could have gotten a nomination out of that. But again, like with Jane, Erika etc, we have no way of knowing if Genie submitted herself or not.
Also realized I forgot to mention, I’ve mentioned this before, and I will again, how much I hate that they took away the Younger Actor/Actress categories away for someone like Finn Carr, another name conspicuous by its absence from the list of nominees.
Finn is good in everything he does, anyone that watches GH knows this. He did great work in 2025, he’s doing even better work this year. He’s not eligible for the Emerging Talent category, because he’s not under contract, and he’s been on the show for longer than 2 years. The Younger Actor category would have been perfect for someone like him, and the fact that he has to submit himself in the Supporting Actor category instead, with grown men that have been on soaps for 30+ years in some cases, is insane and an absolute joke. Finn deserves to be recognized for his work!
Both Genie and Kin are eligible for Golden Circle in 2027. Be interesting to see if they induct both in the same year.
Yes, Beyond the Gates is my second choice, and with GH not nominated for Lead Actress I am rooting for Tamara Tunie. I am also rooting for Mike Manning, Ambyr Michelle, and a tie between Trisha Mann-Grant and Amanda Setton. I am baffled by the lack of a Directing Team nomination for BTG. So while I want GH to win for Series and Writing I wouldn’t mind BTG winning.

let’s tell the truth: CBS bloc-voted it’s way to all these nominations. 17 out of 21 in the four major acting categories went to CBS performers and a meager two to GH and Days each. GH had a phenomenal year and deserved a ton of nominations. It’s ridiculous that Steve Burton and Amanda Setton are the only acting nominees within those four categories.
It’s much harder now to know since we aren’t “allowed” to know who submitted and in which category but where are Katelyn MacMullen, Cynthia Watros, Rick Hearst, Michael E Knight, Van Hansis, Kelly Thiebaud, Brook Kerr, Jane Elliot (ok, she doesn’t submit), Finn Carr, Donnell Turner, Dominic Zamprogna, Rena Sofer, Erika Selzak (did she not submit?), Eden McCoy, Laura Wright, Maura West, etc.??? It’s ridiculous!
I am happy for Beyond the Gates. Don’t get me wrong most of the nominees are talented (albeit not all!) but there were much better potential nominees, especially from GH. Sigh. It’s very disappointing.

The Daytime Emmy works on such an odd awards system, that is for sure. Some very deserving actors miss nominations simply because they do not submit themselves. That is sad, particularly with a small pool of potential nominees to consider. I wish there was a body who oversaw the nominations process regardless of actor preference and beyond one reel, but that would be difficult if not impossible. I can guess some of the actor surprises are there because of the good work they did even if it was not front and center or in less-than storylines. I hope the time gap between nomination period and awards presentation can be tightened.
How could Eva LaRue, doing her best but fumbling through an ill-conceived, poorly written, directionless character get a nomination? Did the voters feel sorry for her because she was stuck with useless Natalia?
I don’t know. I also didn’t know she was a guest performer. Natalia was a terrible character, and I’m afraid Eva LaRue doesn’t have the acting chops to rise above bad writing. She was awkward and laughed weirdly through scenes that did not require her character to laugh.

I cant believe GH didn’t get any acting nominations is the lead female category, GH has an emberrasment of female talent yet somehow especially in this category GH has only won 4 times in Emmy 53 year history. only 4 you all, I find that shocking (Finola Hughes, Laura Wright, Maura West, and last year winner Nancy Grahn.). They’ve done well in the Lead Actor and supporting Actor and Female Supporting Actiress yet the lead category only the Fab four above have brought home the win for GH.
The viewers and all the hard working nominees are being totally snubbed. We loyal viewers would love to see our favs honored yet not afforded the same respect of the same television viewing we see these programs on daily. I guess the endless hours of commercials’ buying generated by out loyal viewership doesn’t mean as much as the many other award shows that fans get to enjoy the fruits of the honorees’ labors. Artists & fans are totally disrespected that not one of the same broadcast networks that bring us these programs daily can not broadcast these awards once a year!
What about Josh Morrow? His addiction role has been perfect!
Again, this is for work in 2025, not 2026. Plus, Joshua Morrow has gone on record that following his failure to be recognised for his work during the Cassie storyline in 2005, he is no longer interested in pursuing the Daytime Emmys.
Josh will get nominated next year. The work is from last year.
The time has come for the bold and the beautiful to realize that they’re writing is old and that their storylines aren’t being followed. Get younger writers! Introduce new and exciting characters and you need an anti-hero this writing for bold and beautiful is repetitive boring and the nomination to show that.

I don’t know what EB submitted for best actor but if it is even halfway decent I think he will take it he has been in the industry forever he is 85 I just think the sentimental part will play also . It beats the same old same old duplicate winners.
The Young and the Restless and upstart Beyond the Gates getting 18 and 15 nominations is overkill at best. Too many oversights but expect B&B and GH to win anyway. CBS missed a chance to broadcast an Emmy telecast that is certainly geared for its shows!

‘Beyond the Gates’ vs. ‘The Young and the Restless’ in a Soap Opera Showdown on ‘Flip Side’ Season 3 Premiere
CBS daytime dramas, Beyond the Gates and The Young and the Restless go head-to-head when two featured cast members from each show compete on the syndicated game show, Flip Side for its season 3 premiere.
Hosted by Jaleel White (best known as Steve Urkel from Family Matters) and filmed near Atlanta, Georgia, daytime drama fans should circle Monday, September 14th when you can catch: representing Team BTG, Colby Nixon (Kat Richardson) and RhonniRose Mantilla (Chelsea Hamilton), and Representing Team Y&R, Bryton James (Devon Hamilton) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
In the upcoming soap opera showdown, the competing teams will win prize money for the charities of their choosing, when White tests both teams on how they think opposite groups of people feel about the same topic, and to see which team will make it to the final round.

Flip Side’s loglines shares that it’s “an original, laugh out-loud survey-based game show that pits two teams of contestants against each other, testing them on how they think opposite groups of people feel about the same topic. The teams compete for a shot at $10,000 by guessing the top answers based on anonymous surveys – which can be provocative, surprising, and often humorous. Throughout each episode, host Jaleel White brings a fun and comedic energy to the show while also guiding the contestants through the questions.”
Season three leans deeper into exploring relationships, dating, social behaviors and everyday life situations that viewers can relate to. Season three also features multiple celebrity episodes benefiting charity kicking off with the CBS soap showdown.

CBS Announces Fall Preview and Season Premieres for ‘Beyond the Gates’ ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ and ‘The Young and the Restless’
CBS announced on Thursday, September 10, their fall storyline previews, season premiere dates and broadcast milestones for its daytime line-up which has held the top spot as the highest-rated network in daytime for 40 consecutive seasons.
The line-up includes daytime dramas: Beyond the Gates, The Bold and the Beautiful, The Young and the Restless, plus gams shows, The Price is Right which continues to be the #1 show on daytime television and Let’s Make a Deal.
Coming up, B&B celebrates its 40th anniversary, Drew Carey marks 20 years as host of daytime’s The Price is Right, while Beyond the Gates will kick-off their 3rd season in December and Y&R continues its dominance at the number #1 daytime drama and the most nominated soap going into the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards on October 30. Here’s what to look for this fall below!
THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
CBS’ longest-running scripted series and 2026’s most Daytime Emmy Award-nominated series continues with its 54th season on Thursday, October. 8, and its 37th season as Daytime’s #1 drama on the broadcast television season.
Look for: Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to stop at nothing to protect his family, taking decisive control of the situation with Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) while refusing to allow anything to threaten Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) sobriety. Victor presents Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) with an intriguing business opportunity that could serve as an ulterior motive to cause havoc for his nemesis, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) finally scores a win, but her victory forces her to decide who she truly wants in her life.
In addition, Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) go to great lengths to keep their casual affair a secret. Stephanie (Vivica A. Fox) supports Nate (Sean Dominic) as he pursues a return to medicine. Lily (Christel Khalil) and Cane (Billy Flynn) mix business with pleasure when they team up to fight Billy’s (Jason Thompson) attempt to gain control of Chancellor Industries. With their wedding fast approaching, Billy has little time to give Sally (Courtney Hope) the support she needs, and the pressure is mounting.
In addition, Michael Fairman TV has learned stories and scripts under Y&R’s new co-head writers, Jamey Giddens and Dan O’Connor, begin to air on November 11.
Y&R is broadcast on weekdays on CBS (12:30-1:30 PM, ET/11:30 AM-12:30 PM, PT) and is available to stream on Paramount+**. THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL
The most-watched daily drama in the world kicked off its landmark 40th season this past Tuesday, September 8 on CBS.
In story, a fierce battle between sisters Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Katie (Heather Tom) is underway, shaking up the Los Angeles fashion industry as Katie’s rising House of Logan takes on Brooke and the mighty Forrester Creations. For the first time ever, the Forresters must navigate mounting financial concerns while the younger generation – Electra (Laneya Grace) and R.J. (Brayan Nicoletti) – rally to help save the family legacy.
Meanwhile, Will (Crew Morrow) and Dylan (Sydney Bullock) grow closer, but the arrival of Dylan’s mother, Darcy (Kelly Sullivan), adds new complications to their relationship as Katie goes on the offensive to help protect her son. Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) must also grapple with the secret born from one unexpected night together, threatening to upend their respective marriages with Finn (Tanner Novlan) and Daphne (Murielle Hilaire).
With secrets, rivalries and family loyalties colliding, the drama builds toward a shocking twist in celebration of the series’ 40th anniversary in March 2027.
B&B is broadcast on weekdays on CBS (1:30-2:00 PM, ET/12:30-1:00 PM, PT) and is available to stream on Paramount+**. A Bell-Phillip Television production, Bradley Bell is the executive producer and head writer. Casey Kasprzyk also serves as executive producer.
BEYOND THE GATES
CBS’S newest daytime soap strides into fall packed with drama as the hit Daytime Emmy-nominated series continues its second season, with season three beginning Tuesday, December 29.
In story, the Duprees, their friends and foes will wade through a flood of fresh tests and triumphs. While some wrestle rivals old and new, others will fight for their livelihoods … and their lives. Anita (Tamara Tunie) hits a bump in the road on the way to The Articulette’s revival, while Vernon (Clifton Davis) takes charge when he gets news that dredges up the past. Dani (Karla Mosley) and Andre’s (Sean Freeman) marriage meets turbulence when mounting tensions with Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) and Hayley (Marquita Goings) pull Dani deeper into her ex’s life.
Elsewhere, Martin (Brandon Claybon) defends his family when Smitty (Mike Manning) is dealt a devastating public blow that puts Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) and Jacob (Jibre Hordges) on opposing sides. As some relationships are strained, others are heating up. Sabotage can’t get in the way of Ted (Keith D. Robinson) and Shanice’s (Ernestine Johnson) love as they take things to the next level.
Meanwhile, Nicole (Daphnee Duplaix) is ready for more with Kial (Greg Vaughan). Madison (Kenjah) is a rock to Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) when she and Kat (Colby Muhammad) can’t escape scandal and Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) and Joey’s (Jon Lindstrom) love life fuels the fire with her daughter Deanna (Angela Fairley). As tensions simmer behind closed doors, a greater threat looms that could flip the entire community on its head.

THE PRICE IS RIGHT
Drew Carey will “Come on Down!” for his 20th season as the host of the ever-popular game show and the longest consecutively one in television history. The Emmy Award-winning series returns for its 55th season beginning Monday, September. 21.
This season, Wednesdays are getting even more exciting with “Wild Wheel Wednesday.” During the Showcase Showdown, contestants will have the chance to win not only over $100,000, but also a special prize chosen by Drew, making every spin of the Big Wheel even more thrilling. Themed episodes this season include Veteran’s Day, Halloween, Earth Day, Breast Cancer Awareness, Pet Adoption Week, Pride, Cinco De Mayo, St. Patrick’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Week. Returning this season are announcer George Gray and fan-favorite models Rachel Reynolds, Manuela Arbeláez, Amber Lancaster, James O’Halloran, Devin Goda and Alexis Gaube.

LET’S MAKE A DEAL
Emmy Award-winning host Wayne Brady brings more deals, big prizes and surprises when the 18th season of the game show when it returns on Monday, September. 21.
The season premiere includes a brand-new game, “Cash Course,” a ball-rolling obstacle course where Traders line up green and gold balls on a custom-designed course for a guaranteed chance to win big cash, with the opportunity to take home a grand prize of $10,000 – but look out for the spinning duck, stone toad and the octopus!
This season also marks a major milestone with the show celebrating its 3,000th episode with Brady as host. The milestone will be commemorated with a special episode airing in January 2027. Returning this season are announcer Jonathan Mangum, model Tiffany Coyne and musician Cat Gray, who all bring their signature blend of improv comedy, music, iconic games and, of course, those infamous Zonks.

Shanice Johnson’s (Ernestine Morrison) brothers are coming to Fairmont Crest next week on all-new episodes of Beyond the Gates. Be on the lookout for Denzell Dandridge to make his debut as Lamont Johnson and Khiry Walker to debut n the role of Cedric Johnson on the Tuesday, September 8 episode.
In a video preview, Lamont and Cedric make quite a first impression on Dr. Ted Richardson (Keith D. Robinson), who are not so keen on the guy, who is dating their sister. Can Ted get Shanice’s siblings to have a change of heart about him? Stay tuned.
If Khiry Walker looks familiar, he has appeared in numerous television series, films and stage plays including Law & Order: Organized Crime and The Chair Company. Denzell Dandridge has also appeared across film and television projects including: Street Code Broken, Coming of Age, itfactor and The Dirty D. Dandridge. In a fun fact, Denzell is actually the great-nephew of acclaimed and groundbreaking actress, Dorothy Dandridge.
In addition, Denzell Dandridge shared on his Instagram about his casting on the CBS soap opera, “All the long nights on set. Countless auditions. Thousands of No’s. But here it is… we finally got our YES.”
Since its inception, Beyond the Gates has focused on the stories of the Dupree and Richardson families, and now with the Johnson family coming into the picture, the series has a chance to expand more characters familial background and back-story to propel future storylines.
Beyond the Gates received 15 Daytime Emmy nominations at the upcoming 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday night, October 30. The soap opera made Daytime Emmy history by racking up the highest nomination tally for its first time in the competition.
