Daytime Emmy Winner, A Martinez, (Cruz, Santa Barbara) last seen as Ray Montez on One Life to Live,  will be guest starring on Castle with another One Life to Live alum, Nathan Fillion (Ex-Joey) in the episode airing on 10/18 (10-11 pm ET/PT on ABC) — “Anatomy of a Murder.”

Martinez plays the dashing yet dangerous Cesar Calderon, a once notorious drug trafficker (and ardent  fan of Richard Castle’s novels) who has turned his back on his criminal past.

However, when the murder investigation of a beautiful female doctor leads to Calderon’s door, Castle and Beckett must uncover the truth of his relationship with the victim. Can Calderon’s claims of innocence be believed, or did the dead doctor’s demise come at the hands of the very man whose life she had saved?  Stay tuned!

And in the meantime, should OLTL  bring back Ray Montez to Llanview for Robin Strasser’s Dorian, now that David Vickers is MIA? Let us know your thoughts.

I will CERTAINLY be watching Castle. Thanks for the heads up, Michael! The short answer is YES! Dorian and Ray were HOT together! I am not sure why A was let go from OLTL. From what I understand, he is willing to return. I wish the best to TW on Desperate Housewives but I really am more interested in Dorian/Robin and her story seems to be affected by TW’s constant comings and goings, which is detrimental since OLTL has continued the circle of David and Dorian for the last few years. I would like to watch Dorian in a new… Read more »

Nathan Fillion and A Martinez in the same place at the same time? I’m already salivating. Yummy. And to answer your question, YES, A Martinez should return to OLTL as Ray, and be involved in a storyline with Dorian. I’m not even asking for the immediate gratification of a romance, although it would be nice for their history to be acknowledged and their story expanded. They missed some potential there. OLTL has had success lately with bringing soap vets onto the canvas. Lots of fans would love to see A back, and many will tell you they love Tuc/David but… Read more »

I agree with both of you, D&D will always be, but let A come back.

I do agree with the that Brian. David and Dorian can be in the past tense. II prefef Ray and Dorian to David and Dorian and the constant replay of that pairing. I want TPTB to give Dorian and new romantic partner. I am not interested in David and Dorian.

If A Martinez’s Ray Montez returned to romance Strasser’s Dorian, this viewer would return. Thank you for the heads up. I can’t wait to see these two fabulous actors in one episode.

Peter Bergman Signs 5-Year Deal with The Young and the Restless

Some of the hottest news on Daytime Emmy night was the reveal that 23-time Daytime Emmy nominee, and 3-time Emmy-winner, Peter Bergman is staying put at The Young and the Restless for quite some time to come, in fact, at least five more years.

Bergman, who plays Genoa City staple, Jack Abbott, has inked a new five-year deal to stay with the CBS daytime drama series, which is a significant contract in the world of soaps.  The usual contact for actors is somewhere between one and four years, with thirteen-week or twenty-six-week cycle, if the show were to not pick up an actors option.

While Y&R has been renewed thus far through the 2024 TV season, it would seem this move to ensure Bergman is sticking around as the show moves past its 50th year on the air, is a vote of confidence by Sony Pictures Television and CBS that the top-rated daytime drama will live on.

Deadline first reported the contract news.  Peter joined Y&R back in 1989, after first successful soap foray on All My Children as Dr, Cliff Warner.

So, what do you think about Peter signing on for five more years at Y&R? Comment below.

Lamon Archey and Sal Stowers Exit Days of our Lives

Coming up on Days of our Lives, both Lani and Eli Grant will be written off the canvas to facilitate the departures of Lamon Archey (Eli) and Sal Stowers (Lani).

According to the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, Archey who stepped into the role in 2017, has made the decision to leave the long-running NBC soap opera, and will last air the week of July 4.

As for Stowers, she will last air on Friday, July 1st, and given her current storyline, it looks like Lani, who has confessed to murdering TJ (William Christian), will either be sent to prison, or will exit Salem with Eli.

This would not be the first-time that Stowers has departed DAYS.  After her debut in 2015, she was off the Salem canvas for a six-month break in 2016, before returning to the show through 2022.

We will share more information on Lamon and Sal’s exits as it comes to light.
