It looks like it’s a wrap, at least for now, for Alice Hunter who joined The Young and the Restless in the role of Kerry under Mal Young’s tenure with the series.

Alice took to Twitter to confirm her exit from the series after much speculation online, by stating:  “To all asking – yes, Kerry is taking an indefinite hiatus. She earns it though you’ll see soon enough. I LOVE the arc, even if I’m sad to leave. And yes, a bunch of #YR cast & crew surprised me Friday and it was something I’ll never forget,”

She also gave special mention in a subsequent tweet to some of those performers in the cast that Hunter considers her mentors: Peter Bergman (Jack) and Gina Tognoni (Phyllis) with who she shares screen-time with.   Alice expressed: “My mentors. My friends. This journey has been indescribable.”

As Y&R viewers know, Kerry was a highly regarded chemist who came on to the scene following Ashley Abbott’s (Eileen Dsvidson) departure from Paris, and became involved with Jack Abbott and worked alongside Jabot CEO, Phyllis.

No word yet as to when Hunter will make her final Y&R appearance on-screen.

So, what do you think about the exit of Alice Hunter from The Young and the Restless? Are more exits forthcoming under the new regime in Genoa City? Comment below.

Great character – I am not pleased about this character leaving

I am more than happy she is leaving.

No offense to this young lady, but thank GOD! She was awkward as someone trying to dance to a drum solo.

I agree. The pairing between her and Jack felt forced and was not believable. Definitely FF on my DVR when they were on.

Why would anybody think a 29 year old would have sexual chemistry with a 65 ??? This show needs a major over haul and you might want to start cleaning house! JG fourth time up to bat PLEASE ! Where us Douglas Marlsnd when you need him I appreciate the vets who helped build the show but who really wants to watch repeats of a 77 year old EB versus 65 year old PB ! Pretty pathetic when Kyle has not had a sex scene and old people do ugh! Time marches on and please send LB out to pasture her acting is horrible maybe time to close the doors! Recasting Adam ! Why????

I’m sad to see her go. Kerry and Jack have great chemistry together.
Y&R should keep her.

He is 65 and she is 29. Any kind of chemistry with that age difference disgusts me.

But, it happens everyday.

Then you must be disgusted with the chemistry between quite a few daytime couples. For example,The DOOL legacy characters Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) is 93 and Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) is 75. Or Another World’s Rachel and Mac Cory. Douglass Watson (Mac) was 24 years older than Victoria Wyndham (Rachel).

Hi, Mary,
Eighteen years is nothing compared to thirty-six. That IS disgusting. Even in real life, any young woman who is involved with someone old enough to be her father; or marries said father-figure; is after his money or something bigger than she.
This is fiction….yet, as I still maintain, fiction mimics life….Kerry has an agenda.
Furthermore, what intrigues Jack is her youth…….makes him feel young again? I don’t know much about sixty-five year old men–in the Biblical sense–but, can Jack keep up? Even with Viagra?
If he can, more power to him. But, it’s still disgusto!!
❤️

Kerry definitely has an agenda. Young and Restless is a soap opera after all. A thirty-six age difference between two people in real life involved in a romantic relationship is none of anyone’s business. And unless you are standing next to the young woman involved on a 24/7 basis you cannot know what her motives are.

LOL, GramS…..that’s exactly what I said when this mismatched, obnoxious relationship started—then, when they ended up in bed? I almost barfed!!
I aleo said this was part of Kerry’s plan. She has an agenda. Plus, she’s not the typical female to whom Jack is attracted. She’s too Amazon(ish)…. masculine-type…..and younger than, Kemo; Jack’s firstborb, whom Jack has forgotten ….along with the PTB.

I agree. At first I was bothered with their pairing due to the availability of both Nate and Devon. But, after I got over that I felt like Jack was really into her. And she is all kinds of sexy!!!

Yea, he’s into her alright, the dirty old man!

Good riddance! Kerry never caught on for me, and I didn’t buy her as a love interest for Jack. Now that Nick and Phyllis are broken up, I could see a potential reunion for her and Jack in the future. She was a newbie with no ties to the canvas, and I would much rather have Ashley back full time. Though I did have a feeling they would make Kerry and Brytni Sarpy’s new character, Elena Dawson, sisters. I guess that’s out the window now.

As for the actress, maybe she’ll be hired by another soap. B&B could bring her on as a love interest for Justin, or maybe as Flo’s long-lost second cousin twice removed, since Brad Bell seems intent on integrating her to the canvas, by bringing on her mother, and shoving her down our throats with the same repetitive scenes with Zoe. Ugh.

Kerry was brought in for a reason, Jimmy….I may be way off base here; but this unappealing, languid character needed to sink her teeth and plant her feet firmly onto an uppercrust family. At first I suspected Phyllis and Ashley working in concert with her to oust Jack.
But, now I am not so sure. Nonetheless, Kerry needed Jack to trust her, in order to facilitate what she had planned from the onset.
The mystery person, with whom she keeps communicating via cell-phone, is someone we probably know. Tessa? JT? ” There is something rotten in the state of Denmark”……in this case, GC.
Oh….I completely forgot about Brytni–could she be the new Lily? …or someone for Devon ( oh, Lord–poor girl)?… Does Brytni sing? LOL.

Nothing against the Nu Jordan on GH, but Alice Hunter may be a better Jordan. IJS

Glad to see her go! Hopefully, the Rosales family(except for Lola) is next on a flight out of town.

I find the Rosales family a breathe of fresh air. Its not the actors fault there was nothing else going on in genoa city that they had to be on all the time and suffocate viewers. Jts death being dragged out for a whole year before picking up steam just lately doesnt count.
Mia is juicy soapy fun! ..and arturo and rey are about to get dragged in even more in her schemes! All the actors are authentic and real
I for one find it classic soap!

It’s not that nothing else is going on. It’s that the writer chose to write nothing else. We have had too much of the Rosales family. They have been on far too much. I wouldn’t mind some here and there, but every day is too much.

Just get rid of Arturo……I don’t mind Rey and Lola. But, you are right….seeing them on a daily basis is unnerving, Momo.

That is notbgoing to happen the head of cbs daytime AM is all in for them! New blood is not a problem its shoving them down your throat five times a day ! Absolute horrible writing

Bon Voyage, Au Revoir, Adious, Sayonara,Ciao, Aufwiedershien, Good Bye. Yea, Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore!

❤️–say it, Miss Violet!!

Her linking with Jack never made sense. There was no build up, she’s on the show a few weeks and suddenly he is head over heals for a woman he doesn’t even know. If the writer had been smart, they should not have killed Hillary off, but recast, perhaps with Alice. No doubt she is a talented actress given an unlikely storyline, especially the big mystery… she might want to have a baby someday?????>

Fine. Whatever. Also…get rid of that GOD-AWFUL, BLAND AND EVEN MORE ANNOYING Ken Doll Nate and I’ll be even happier!!!!!

Later.

HaHa…Ken doll? Too funny, Jay.

I really liked the love story with her and Jack and was hoping to see him happy. Fans had questions about some things but We all liked her role and especially with Jack…

Posey,
This couple was never meant to be. As someone else pointed out, she is 29 and he is almost 66. Seriously, is that OK with you? Suppose it was your daughter seeing a man that age. It makes me cringe, when my imagination kicks in, yuk!!

I would have liked it if her romance with jack had been timed a little slower. That bothered me that we were supposed to root for Kerry and jack as a couple when we had only known them together for 10 minutes. That’s the way the saps are these days.

She has an interesting presence, but this just wasn’t the right role for her; almost a niche actor. Please have Jack find a bright and mature friend that evolves into something special. Don’t hurry!

Her character is boring. Goodbye.

I never understood her character, never was developed that well for us to really care about her….more like a character forced on us that we never really got to know. Not unhappy with the departure.

Thank goodness! Has anyone ever questioned with whom she is communicating??….mystery calls and texts. Hmmmm—- JT? I know, it’s a stretch, LOL.

Celia
Read on another blog, most people are thinking it’s Ashley in cahoots with Kerry, come back to ruin Jack, ousting out Red and taking back Jabot. Eileen leaving in the first place was most likely to get away from M.Young, while claiming she wanted more time with her family. Who knows? I for one have honestly not missed her, with everything else going on.
As far as J.T being P.C, what would his interest be in Jabot? What thinks thee?

I am not surprised, this happens all the time when a new writer comes in, they usually get rid of characters that were created by the previous writer especially if the character has no real ties to the history of show.

I thought for sure she was going to be transgender– and the needle in her purse was hormones–but that never played out, so who knows what her secret is, but she obviously always had one.

Anyway, one can only hope her exit will be more interesting than her entrance.

The age difference between her and Jack didn’t really bother me because it happens all the time on soaps, but personally I think Jack and Phyllis are end game, yet I admit, I really enjoyed Jack’s little fling with Gloria–too bad that was so short lived.

Kerry got a phone call and it said PC…. could that be “ police chief”? Is she working with Paul?

RAB
Good idea, but she always acts like she’s doing something shady and underhanded against Jabot.

So long – farewell – Auf wiedersehen – good bye!!

Another ill-conceived & half-baked character created by Mal Young bites it – now ditch the lame Rosales family!!

GET BACK TO CHARACTER-DRIVEN STORY!!

Great actress just don’t care her with Jack. I’m holding out for Jack & Phyllis to get back together.

You know Ashley feels deprived so she had to go away and scam with (kerry) Ashley needs to grow up and realize she doesn’t have John Abbott blood flowing throw her veins get over , your not an ABBOTT you never where Ashley Davis . Brent Davis is your father

Christel Khalil Reveals She Almost Quit Acting After ‘That’s So Raven’ Audition, But Then Came ‘The Young and the Restless’

The Young and the Restless fan favorite, Christel Khalil (Lily Winters) is the special guest on this week’s edition of Soapy Hosted by Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart which dropped today on Tuesday, June 23rd.

During the interview with Rebecca and Greg, Khalil who had played Lily Winters on-screen since August of 2002, nearly 24 years with the CBS soap, shared how early on her teenage acting career, she was ready to call it quits in show business, after a heartbreaking audition for the lead of a new Disney Channel sitcom, which later turned out to be the hit seres, That’s So Raven, starring Raven-Symoné which ran for four seasons from 2003-2007.

Christel recalled what happened. “I was 14 and I had always auditioned for all these Disney projects. So I auditioned for That’s So Raven, it was between me and Raven-Symoné and it was called at the time Absolutely Psychic,” explained Khalil. “The character was this girl who had psychic ability, but then when Raven got the role, they named the title of the show after her.”

HOW A BROTHERLY TALK CHANGED THE COURSE OF CHRISTEL’S CAREER

Reliving the disappointment to Greg and Rebecca, Christel explained, “I lost that part and I was just so devastated, because for the network call there were 20 people in the room watching me, and I just have always had such performance anxiety. I just completely bombed the audition and it was terrible. So, I was just devastated. I was actually going to quit acting and then I got the final call for The Young and The Restless and I wasn’t going to go.”

It was Khalil’s brother, who actually got her to reconsider, and if he hadn’t, we would not have our Lily Winters in Genoa City! Christel recounted, “I was like, ‘You know what? I’m done. I don’t want to do this anymore. I’m just going to hang out with my friends.’ I was just devastated. My brother, who is seven years older than me, and he had quit acting at the same age that I was at that time. He said to me, ‘I promise you, I actually really regret quitting. Just go on this audition and if you don’t get it, you can quit.'”

Christel’s screen-test for the role of Lily was actually with the late, great, Kristoff St. John who would play her father Neil (Later it was revealed to Lily, that Neil’s brother, Malcolm Winters was her bio-dad).

ACTING WAS EASY WITH THE LATE KRISTOFF ST. JOHN

“So, I went (to test for Lily) and I remember the screen-test was with Kristoff St. John. It was just so easy to act with him because he’s just so there. I remember just being on set, and that was my first time there for a screen-test where you were actually on set. I had never experienced that before. It was my first time being with an actor and  having makeup done, which just helps you really be able to do your best work.”

Recalling the screen-test with the St. John, Khalil, “It was where I had to be emotional ( in the scene) and I always had issues being emotional at auditions. But I was there with him, it just came, and it happened. It was natural and I felt so good and it was amazing. It stands out in my mind a lot.”

You can check out the full Soapy conversation with Christel Khalil where she also discusses juggling motherhood, marital life, and the demands of soap operas.

Fan can listen to weekly episodes of Soapy on Audacy or wherever podcasts are available, and can watch full video episodes weekly on the CBS =Brand YouTube Channel. Whether a lifelong fan or discovering the genre for the first time, SOAPY offers a fresh, fun behind-the-scenes look at the stories – and storytellers – that define daytime drama.

Now let us know, over the years what had been your favorite Lily Winters story on Y&R as played by Christel Khalil? Y&R Preview: Matt Clark Asks Phyllis on a Date, Would You Be Down for the Pairing? Roger Howarth & Michelle Previously in GH’s Franco/Nina Romance

Published

The Young and the Restless seems to be toying with a potential romance between amnesiac Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford).  Now, on all-new episodes of the top-rated soap opera, the official Y&R Preview for the week of June 22-26, shows a moment where Matt attempts to ask Phyllis out on a date!

The two are sitting at the GCAC having drinks. Suddenly, Matt says. “Once upon a time, there was a man who had no memory. And he met a woman. And then he asks her out on a date.” Phyllis looks at first confused, but then inquisitive? Would Phyllis even dare go out with Matt given what he has done to the former love of her life and father to her daughter, Summer, the one and only Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow)?

If Y&R head writer, Josh Griffith does plan to go there, does Phyllis somehow fall in love with this guy, because she did see him come to the rescue of Nick when he OD’d? But, would Phyllis date Sharon’s (Sharon Case) rapist?

GENERAL HOSPITAL’S FRANCO AND NINA

This isn’t the first time that Daytime Emmy winners, Roger Howarth and Michelle Stafford have appeared on a soap as a romantic pairing? Look no further than then January of 2016  when both appeared on ABC’s General Hospital, when after months of dancing around their sexual tension, Franco Baldwin and Nina Reeves had sex.  The two characters had quite the unstable past which drew them together.

After the sex scene aired on GH, and the series moved the relationship between the duo (known on social media as #nico) forward, Michelle Stafford spoke to Michael Fairman TV where she shared on working with Howarth.

At that time, Stafford expressed, “What woman doesn’t want to see Roger Howarth on-screen?  He’s super sexy, and that is just that! (Laughs) With Roger, I am going to get a really great actor to work with, who likes to play, and really can act. I appreciate that about him. I am just really interested to see what the writers are ultimately going to do with these two characters.”

When addressing, why it took so long for Franco and Nina to hit the sheets, Stafford acknowledged, “You have to address it, because the audience is going to go, ‘Why are these two hot characters not ‘doing’ it’ These are two adults. It doesn’t make sense.  They are so in love, and they are not consummating anything.  So, when they made Nina so insecure about it, and being able to communicate to Franco how she felt, I thought, ‘OK, this works.’  She was scared, and that’s true. We are all scared when we sleep with someone we love for the first time.  There is not one person who does not feel that way.  I loved that about her.  The woman in the audience really responded to that. They loved that there was a character who was afraid to hop in bed.  It was refreshing to them, and that was the consensus.”

Y&R’s MATT AND PHYLLIS STAND A GHOST OF A CHANCE AT ROMANCE?

Take a look at the Y&R video preview for next week below.

Then weigh-in; do you want Matt and Phyllis to date and begin some semblance of a romantic relationship? Did you enjoy Roger Howarth and Michelle Stafford when they were paired as Franco and Nina on General Hospital? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Sidwell Surfaces; A Twist in Britt’s Condition

Published

on

By

On the Thursday, June 18 episode of General Hospital, Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) makes his shocking return right in Port Charles, after fleeing (thanks to Cassius) to supposedly parts unknown to escape capture for trying to kill Dr. Lucas Jones (Van Hansis).

How does he show up in town? First, Ezra (Daniel Cosgrove) gets a text from Jacinda (Paige Herschell) to meet in his hotel room. Ezra thinks the two are going to have a sexcapade so he puts champagne on ice for his favorite escort.

Suddenly, there is a knock at the door. Ezra’s excitement turns towards fear as instead of Jacinda, Sidwell is standing in front of him. Next, Sidwell blackmails Boyle telling him he has plenty of leverage he can use against him. Sidwell wants to use Ezra to help him takedown, Sonny (Maurice Benard), Lucas, Laura (Genie Francis) and Cullum.

ARE SIDWELL’S DAYS NUMBERED?

Meanwhile, Sonny confides in his brother, Ric (Rick Hearst). He says he knows who killed Marco an he is going to use that intel to lure Sidwell out of hiding.  Sonny also shares he is going to kill Sidwell, and handle this by himself. He gave the PCPD a chance, but they failed to nab Sidwell for good and lock him up.

Sonny also has been tracking the whereabouts of Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) and Rocco (Finn Carr) through Brick, and learned they took a flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and then boarded a fairy to take them somewhere off the island.

Courtesy/ABC

BRITT’S ‘SYMPTOMS’ RETURN

Turns out, Britt and Rocco are hiding out in the British Virgin Islands. Britt set up Rocco with a burner phone and a VPN on her tablet, that is not traceable. Rocco reads on the tablet about Lucas’ shooting. Britt starts to have the shakes and passes out. When she comes to, Britt won’t let Rocco call a doctor, but he uses his phone to step on the balcony and call Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) and ask for help. Charlotte looks shocked to hear from her brother as Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) looks on!

Courtesy/ABC

However, Joe (Jonathan Bennett) could be the one to put two and two together! While at General Hospital and after questioning Lucas about a syringe he found that was in someone’s possession. the toxicology report showed traces of saline solution, not actual medication. He asks Dr. Jones, why someone would inject themselves with saline? Lucas responds saline is harmless and would have no effect on someone.

So, does this mean that this entire time, Britt has been led to believe that the medication she was taking to treat her Huntington’s disease was placebo? Has Britt been lied to into believing she is dying? Is something else wrong with her instead?

Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section below, and if you are ready for Sidwell to finally get his comeuppance from Sonny! But first, watch the scenes where Sidwell comes out of hiding and blackmails Ezra Boyle.
