‘All My Children’ Movie Writers for Lifetime Revealed: Ron Carlivati, Jamey Giddens and Leo Richardson

This week began and as reported with a spotlight article on Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos and how their production entity, Milojo, has been teeing up the All My Children reboot with Lifetime.
The L.A. Times featured the married couple, co-hosts of Live with Kelly and Mark, and former All My Children cast members (where they met and fell in love) about their plans to bring two All My Children movies to Lifetime and how they are working with the Agnes Nixon estate to make it come to fruition,
On Wednesday, it was revealed by Daytime Confidential, that All My Children reboot producer, Andrew Stearn handpicked none other than Ron Carlivati (ex-head writer, One Life to Live, General Hospital and Days of our Lives) and Jamey Giddens (who is the new co-head writer of The Young and the Restless, following his tenures on the writing teams of Beyond the Gates and Days of Our Lives), as the two scribes who will bring the first of two of Kelly and Mark’s All My Children movies to the page.

RON CARLIVATI AND JAMEY GIDDENS CONFIRM THEIR BOARDING THE ALL MY CHILDREN MOVIE PROJECT
The second installment is said to be written by primetime writer Leo Richardson whose credits include: Star, Katy Keene and more recently the Penn Badgley (ex-Phillip Chancellor IV, The Young and the Restless) starring series, You.
Richardson also wrote for three years on the U.K.’s long-running soap, EastEnders. All My Children revival fans will recall Richardson’s name was attached as the writer for the first incarnation of the All My Children movies, entitled, Pine Valley.
Ron Carlivati took to X and confirmed he is indeed boarding the All My Children movie project. Carlivati shared, “So excited to share this news! Thanks to Andrew Stearn, Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, Albert Bianchini and the Agnes Nixon estate for entrusting Jamey Giddens and me with the first of two planned All My Children movies for Lifetime! Stay tuned!”

Jamey Giddens confirmed DC’s announcement by taking to his account on X and expressing, “I’ve been booked and busy in 2026. Thanks to Andrew Stearn, the Agnes Nixon estate, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos for entrusting Ron Carlivati, and me with the first of two planned All My Children movies for Lifetime!”
Some fans seemed to question how Giddens could be writing for the first All My Children movie at Lifetime, when he is the new co-head writer at The Young and the Restless with Dan O’Connor. Jamey answered that head on via X and explained, “We turned in our All My Children script months ago. My sole focus as of this past Monday, is Genoa City, Wisconsin! #YR”
ERICA KANE, MARIA SANTOS AND HAYLEY AND MATEO SANTOS TO APPEAR IN THE ALL MY CHILDREN MOVIE REVIVAL?

As well, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos confirmed they will make brief appearances on-screen; one could assume as Hayley and Mateo Santos.
“It’d be wonderful to give the fans something that they’ve been yearning for so many years,” shared Mark Consuelos to the LA Times. “All My Children gave me my family. I met my wife there. It gave me my start in the business. It gave us so much. It would be a dream to be able to give back.”
So, what do you think of Ron Carlivati and Jamey Giddens getting nod to write the All My Children movie #1 script and Leo Richardson #2? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

‘All My Children’ Revival Updates: Lifetime EVP Speaks on Why Proposed Movies are Great Fit, Mark Consuelos Wants To ‘Give Back’ to Fans

The All My Children revival via movies at Lifetime is still in the works from former series stars and marrieds, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, through their production company, Milojo.
The co-hosts of Live with Kelly and Mark were featured this week in a Los Angeles Times article which detailed their efforts to bring some of the citizens of Pine Valley back to your screens.
As previously reported, and reaffirmed by the L.A. Times, the All My Children movies will be set in the present day and focus on what beloved characters such as Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) and Maria Santos Gray (Eva LaRue) are doing now. In addition, Kelly Ripa confirmed that she and Mark Consuelos will also appear on screen briefly most likely appearing in their signature soap roles as Hayley and Mateo Santos.

ALL MY CHILDREN MOVIES BRING NOSTALGIA THAT CAN BE MADE TO FEEL NEW AGAIN
Elaine Frontain Bryant, executive vice president and head of programming for A&E, Lifetime, and Lifetime Movie Network said of the All My Children reboot, “Lifetime is always interested in shows that kind of tap into a powerful nostalgia that can be made fresh for today’s audience. There’s a whole generation of women that have missed these stories and these characters.”
As for working with Kelly and Mark on the Lifetime movie versions of the soap, “They’re exactly the kind of partners you want at a brand,” expressed Bryant. “They’re trusted voices because every day they’re talking to their audience, which, a lot of times, is our audience. They bring a real credibility and have an authentic point of view. You meet Kelly and Mark and kind of what you see is what you get, and I think they bring that same authenticity to their development standards.”
Albert Bianchini, executive producer for Milojo, says he knows All My Children is so wildly popular with the fans of daytime. That was punctuated when seeing it in person, and how the energy was off the charts back in January of 2025 when Kelly participated along with Susan Lucci, former head writer, Lorraine Broderick and casting director, Judy Blye Wilson in a conversation with Andy Cohen at the 92nd Street Y in New York City.

“I’ve never seen a crowd like that in my life. People were lined up around the block, recalled the Bianchini. “Everyone wanted to know, ‘When is (All My Children) coming back? We want more.’ We got to see that in real life and Kelly got to feel it in real life, and it made so much sense. I just know that the minute it gets out in the world, people will want more and more and more. There’s just a love there.”
Kelly Ripa added that they are, “working closely with Bob and Sarah Nixon, who are also serving as producers.” She recalled, “She (Agnes Nixon) was so far ahead of her time. She covered topics that weren’t being covered. It was extraordinary the audiences that the show drew, and she served them real stories that were affecting Americans across the country but weren’t necessarily being represented anywhere.”
“It’d be wonderful to give the fans something that they’ve been yearning for so many years,” shared Mark Consuelos. “All My Children gave me my family. I met my wife there. It gave me my start in the business. It gave us so much. It would be a dream to be able to give back.”
THE CANCELLATION AND STOPS AND STARTS OF ALL MY CHILDREN REBOOTS
All My Children aired on ABC from 1970 to 2011. It got a second chance at life when Prospect Park resurrected the show and brought it to The OnLine Network and Hulu for one season in 2013.
Recently, the series made a return through the estate of Agnes Nixon and is streaming internationally on BEONDTV and through their partnership with PlutoTV Canada with episodes starting in 1995. Fans hope original episodes will some day soon be available in the U.S. as well, but that could prove more difficult since ABC owns the rights to the episodes stateside.
Now 13 years later, while there is no word yet on a definitive production start date to the two movies at Lifetime, all the people involved seemed determined to make it come to life.
So, what do you think of the executive vice-president of Lifetime and LMN being enthusiastic about Kelly and Mark’s All My Children movie revivals? Are you wanting to see this come to fruition? Kelly and Mark seem to have made this a very high priority. Do you hope that by 2027 we might be able to get this to the finish the line and into production? Weigh-in via the comment section.

With the success of the venture, the Nixons are hopeful that they will bring viewers many more years of the show to come.

In addition, 0ne week ago, during Susan Lucci’s visit to Los Angeles promoting her book La Lucci, she was joined by her former Pine Valley castmates, Rebecca Budig (ex-Greenlee, AMC, now Taylor, B&B) and Eva LaRue (ex-Maria, AMC) and the trio posed for a pic. At that time, LaRue shared via Instagram, “NEW All My Children channel streaming classic episodes 24/7 now on Pluto TV Canada! Fingers crossed to watch soon on Pluto US.”

I’m curious what this means the total number of viewers are for each show.
I read a 100 times, there are no numbers just popularity ..
I will keep watching – I’m even watching OLTL (which I haven’t watched for years) and some of the scenes between Vicki and Dorian are almost cartoonish compared to years ago and it’s a little hard to take their love/hate relationship seriously after all these years. THAT is not to say that Erica Slezak isn’t great, because she is, but sometimes the tension between the characters of Vicki and Dorian seems a little forced and over-the-top – as for AMC, thrilled to have it back but am hoping for more familiar faces to return to Pine Valley.
i think they… the writers… like Vicki does… have a life… outside of their feud.
need to give Dorian… a love interest… or show a lil’ more interest in her children… or her possessed… infatuation with self.
spoiling her ego.
not have Dorian so channeled.. with just Vicki.
I disagree about the scenes between Viki & Dorian are cartoonish and the tenison
between them doesn’t seems forced. I enjoy their cat fights. I have for years! Give it a chance it was only the first week. And will be watching the second week!
Ditto, how many viewers does this translate to?
Ill be watching both everday lov them
I will be watching just as avidly next week! So glad to have 2 of my favorite soaps back but I’m greedy – I want As the World Turns and Guiding Light back as well!
Boy me too Lena, makes me so sad to see those R.I.P by my two fave soaps for forty five yrs. every time I come to this page! Lets hope the internet soap biz takes off and someone brings back ATWT and GL!
I’ll keep watching. I’m so thrilled to have OLTL back. I wake up thirty minutes early to watch it before I go to work. Llanview lives and I couldn’t be happier.
I watched some episodes twice…are they both counted or just the first time i watched? How accurate are they? I mean if they count the episodes i watched the first time as well as the ones i watched over(had trouble hearing dialogue like some others had so i watched again to see if i missed something)then not as many might be watching like those numbers suggest, im just saying!
I can’t even find episode 5 of AMC or OLTL on the hulu web site. They are mislabeled – what shows as episode 5 is actually something else. Hulu needs to fix this for us! They have no customer support phone number to call. Was looking forward to watching my shows today!
Episode 5 is the recap and special episode, they are doing that each Friday. So that is considered episode 5.
This makes me so happy! Congrats PP, AMC, and OLTL.
I wanna see numbers.. which they should have an exact number of viewers. If it’s topped 1 million on any given day, then it’s a great success!
CW primetime doesn’t average one million viewers for any of their shows, the average number of viewers for any primetime show is around 3-4 million. So if a internet show is able to achieve 1/3 or a quarter of a primetime network show.. that’s big!
I think i’m going to watch the week over for both shows.. love OLTL. I didn’t watch AMC towards the end of their run on ABC, but i’m hooked back in.
Congratulations TOLN, PP, AMC, and OLTL!!!
According to Prospect Park, AMC and OLTL’s break-even point is 500K viewers.. anything over 500K, means the shows are successful. Couldn’t find any numbers yet.
I will be watching both soaps. Can’t wait.
DITTO!
Well, of course our soaps are up on top, I had no doubts .. 🙂
I will watch on every gadget I can to help keep the numbers up.
I mean, we cannot forget that many soap fans (and others) fought very hard to bring these shows back to us, while many of us (me included) just wished they’d return. Now a miracle has occurred and OLTL and AMC are with us again. This is a new format and there are bound to be both good and bad. We ALL must promote and support these shows as they learn to stand in a different medium; brand new just like when soaps went from radio to TV. For every little complaint I want to see fixed, I stop myself from remaining so critical and thank TPTB that my show is back where I can visit with these characters several times a week.
I have to wonder how many fans of other defunct soaps wish their soaps had been brought back to life. I know I sure have my Wish List for back from the dead soaps.
My sleeves are rolled up and my clicker-finger is ready to watch OLTL and AMC for years to come on my computer if that’s what it takes.
I can’t say THANK YOU enough to those who fought so hard to bring these shows back to us and to the actors and production team members who came back to bring us our favs.
yep I’ve been letting them run every available way I can. Hopefully those count as separate views. It’s still not fully sunk in that my shows are really back. Will support however I can to keep them back now.
I am so happy. i will keep watching for sure though those recap shows are kind of lame!
I have searched on line to find out how to get/see numbers for the soaps’
there are no numbers at HuLu, none..
So, people maybe should stop asking for numbers because they will get the same answer; there are no numbers.
If, PP gets the numbers and shares them with us., it would be the only way will ever see numbers..
The internet is different than Network TV, for one thing, Nielsen is not on the internet counting, and that is a very good thing that the Nielsen Ratings are not at HuLu..
Everything I found on-line about numbers at HuLu, there are none, and that it is all about popularity.
This is wonderful news. I hope the trend continues. I know I’ll be watching both shows everyday.
Both shows everyday!! Love prospect park for saving this project! Well worth it. Both shows amazing!!
Isn’t it great!
I am watching. Both good. I actually prefer watching on huluplus thru tv. Click and there they are.
I do hope the fans of these shows get more like the primetime soap fans. I think the daytime fans have gotten where they feel comfortable criticizing everything. Saying they are loyal just doesn’t fit anymore. There has to be change there for this venture to work. Just compare the Scandal/Dallas fans to daytime. It is sometimes embarrassing how the daytime fans have gotten. Go back to enjoying and even though I hate saying this I will, If you don’t like what you are seeing, don’t watch.
I do see viewing going more and more this way. It is just matter of time. Not sure how sports will fit in. I still watch with huluplus and tv. I like huge screen. Went back to basic cable. Hope the ratings continue to rise on these two shows. I think they have advantage of pulling in younger viewers because of viewing venue.
I agree. I’m so sick of all the couch potato criticism. If you want things to go exactly the way you want, and characters to speak to you personally, I say to these type of fans to write fan fiction. There’s many people, many tastes, and shows can’t cater to just one fan’s or even a particular group’s pov. Its just gross to me. My theory is that if anyone is to blame for Disney not wanting to deal with a soap opera on its network, these fans, who can take a look in the mirror, and own it. If a fan has to see things their way, they should not watch television at all, let alone single out a show that knocks itself out to care about the fans.
Love having AMC back, bought the ITunes season and will continue to watch and renew as long as it is available. Are they charging for the recap episode?
One negative for me though, not a fan of the foul words, especially coming from the veteran characters. Not necessary.
Oh well.. They can say things on line that they could never say when they were on the T.V. I think it isn’t necessary either.
I will be watching every single day! 🙂
Loving my soaps on Hulu. Congrats & thanks to all involved in the reboot!
All My Children ROCKS! Thankyou to all the faithful actors who stuck by this vision with HuLu and made AMC a success. How could you not with the appearances of Dr. Joe Martin (The Matriarch)Adam Chandler (icon) Brooke (ol’ faithful) sweet Dixie, ageless Angie, Villon David, and my favorite – the hilarious Opal. You all look as great as ever! If we as fans continue watching and supporting our favorite soap AMC, this will be in the History books! ABC eat your hearts out. I for one never watched the other shows that replaced our beloved AMC and must admit, became a Days of Our Lives fan instead. But I’m back and I hope Petee makes Mama proud!
