All My Children
All My Children Primetime Reboot “Pine Valley” in the Works at ABC from Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos and Andrew Stearn

Huge news that could bring back a new updated version of daytime’s All My Children to primetime!
ABC is eyeing a revival of Agnes Nixon’s long-running beloved series that ran for 41 years on the network and then saw an online reboot from Prospect Park that lasted only one season.
According to Deadline, former AMC stars Kelly Ripa (Ex-Hayley) and Mark Consuelos (Ex-Mateo) will executive produce along with Andrew Stearn and Agnes Nixon’s son, Robert Nixon.
The series is currently in the early stages of development, but what has been revealed is: the reboot will be written/executive produced by Leo Richardson (Katy Keene, Star), and it will center on a young journalist with a secret agenda who comes to expose the dark and murderous history of a town named Pine Valley only to become entangled in a feud between the Kane and Santos families. The series explores all the secrets that come with the Kane and Santos family names.
In the new incarnation, Pine Valley, will feature a new generation of characters and some old favorites. As of this moment, no original cast members have deals, but the plan would be to have them make appearances, plus Ripa and Consuelos could also make a cameo. Of course, many are already pondering if Susan Lucci (Erica Kane) might actually be a mainstay on the new primetime series; since the Kanes are one of the core families in the reboot.

Pine Valley plans to continue the original series’ tradition of tackling difficult social issues of our time and being inclusive, which the show was known for under the iconic Agnes Nixon’s storytelling.
Of note is that Stearn is also a lifelong fan of AMC and has been the driving force behind the reboot. In fact when he was deciding between ABC Signature and one other studio for an overall deal, he chose ABC Signature because it was going to allow him to pursue his dream of rebooting All My Children. It was then he started tracking down the rights to the soap. As soap fans know, the rights to AMC reverted back to ABC after Prospect Park’s online version fell apart.
Later, after meeting with a number of writers to helm Pine Valley, Stearn went with Richardson, who had worked on the British soap EastEnders in his native Britain. Stearn also got on board the estate of Agnes Nixon, with son Robert Nixon joining the project as an executive producer.

I sure hope this is being done. I rally miss All My Children
Cool. Just wish it was Llanview
I’m sure there will be some cross-over characters from Llanview down the road a stretch….it’s only the next town over.
Go for it!!!
Can not wait to see this happen! Wonderful idea
Merry Christmas!!! Couldn’t be happier or more excited. So grateful to all involved who never forgot about All My Children! Yay!
Extremely excited. I wouldn’t miss an episode.
I want this to happen. I know it will…There are too many AMC fans been waiting for this for such a long long time…Thank you Mark, Kelly, Andrew and anyone else involved in bringing this back to life! We need our AMC fix. Thank you! WE need to give Adam Chandler a proper burial as he passed away after the show ended. I watched AMC since it’s 1st episode. There are a lot of us who have. God bless you all…
Wow! This is fantastic news!! Can’t wait!!
That would be awesome. I hope it does come to fruition.
I know I’m ready!!!
There will be no Palmer, Erica, or Phoebe so let’s hope they get it right and make it like it was in the 70’s.
Just recast them…I loved them! Enid, The Daughters of Fine Lineage…OMG I could go on and on!! It was so much fun!!!
Why wouldn’t there be an Erica? The actor who portrayed Palmer is no longer with us, but there IS something called recasting, or just have the character rest in peace. The show can’t be “like it was in the 70’s” – to attract new and younger viewers, they would have to have a mix of some new faces intermingled with some familiar ones.
Why do you say there will be no erica?
I would definitely watch but I think it would only be successful to bring the key characters that are still alive and do a lot of flashback segments to refresh memories and help new viewers understand the back story. With Erica as a central
Character the story can be built around her and the Martins are important and the santos, chandlers.. I’ll be glued! I think bring back JR, Tad, Kendall, Bianca, Annie, Simone, Greenlee, Ryan, etc… count me excited!
Yes!! And let’s not forget to drink Libidizone at parties!!! lol lol lol
Yes!!
I can’t wait. I hope it’s soon because being stuck at home would be a nice treat to have 2 out of 3 my favorite shows on again. One life to live would be great also. GH has hung in there All My Children should be able to do it easily.. Lets get it rolling….
I would be for this especially if so.e of the old characters came back.
Yes!!! I will definitely watch!!
I think this is absolutely brilliant! I have watched AMC for so many years. I would definitely watch this.
I can’t wait
I look forward to it especially to see how the storyline goes and if it would be close enough to the original in characters and the continuation of the story and to see who will be signing onto the show and how many original stars and characters will be appearing on the new show.
This is a great idea.Hope it works out!
ABC are constantly cancelling primetime shows that are even vaguely soap like, not giving them a chance to bed in. If it doesn’t rate well straight away, they drop the axe. This reboot would only work if they gave it at least a year long commitment and air half hour eps several times a week in pre-primetime like the UK soaps do, around 7.30pm. Once a week doesn’t hold people’s attention with a continuing serial as it has to become part of a routine (like a daily pre-primetime game show). UK soaps have a primetime budget, air several times a week and all year round but have large casts to rotate stories and characters (Coronation Street currently has a cast of 87!). I really wish for this show to do well, if only to encourage them to also bring back One Life To Live, but fear it’ll either be pulled off air too soon or be a soft soap like the CW shows. It needs to feature stories that are realistic as well as soapy -and it definitely needs to have former cast members and a cast that is multi-generational. We’ve had enough of twentysomething or teen triangles -let’s see a show that sees our older generation as vital and important too. Bring back families to primetime in shows that are not just sitcoms.
To add to your point..
As a cbs soap fan I would die for a guiding light or world turns reboot primetime. For cbs they have a crapload of ridiculous 80s reboots currently littering their primetime schd. Magnum pi, hawaii five all scew all older dem. Aside from that is a neverending list of franchise spinoffs, the csi’s etc. I certainly hope abc succeeds with all my children and it wakes the other networks up that fans want their rich sexy soaps back any which way, daytime or primetime! How many talkshows, entertainment tabloid shows, and crime procedurals do we need!?
P.s on current soaps…, why does gh look sooo good but y n r only has 4 sets in rotation and days looks like its filmed in a thrift store?
I would be SO HAPPY!!! And they could just make new Palmer Cortlandt, Phoebe, Myrtle, Adam/Stuart, etc. I don’t care…I just want to see the show again. Be sure Phoebe has the smart-ass answers! I loved that!
My favorite soap. Bring it back please.
YES!! It never should have been canceled!
This is extremely exciting as an AMC fan from way back, you can count on me watching!
Can’t wait hope to see this reboot soon
If Wally Kurth can currently portray Justin Kiriakis on NBC’s DAYS, plus Ned Quartermaine on ABC’s GH, hopefully, Cady McClain will be able to play Jennifer on DAYS and Dixie Martin on the AMC re-reboot!
I hope she can too…and eventually grab Michael Knight as Tad if and when he becomes available. Cady is supposedly only temporarily playing the role of Jennifer Horton on Days of Our Lives from what I read.
i LOVTTI
I can’t wait to see it!
I hope theAMC reboot will have Erica Kane! Looking forward to it!
It would be great to have as many from the original AMC as possible
I’ve hoped for this for a very long time!!!
This would be a dream come true. Love All My Children. Still having withdrawal symptoms to this day since it was cancelled. Never missed a single episode from day one. That’s over 40 years being a true fan. They were my daytime family❤️
I will be waiting…..love to see it happen!!!
CAN’T WAIT………BEST NEWS OF THIS AWFUL YEAR !
Yes….it is THE best news to hear to help lift our spirits at the end of a truly awful year….
i cannot believe what i just read ! Please Landview too !!
I was a huge fan of AMC, and would love to see this happen! I hope that it will last much longer than it did when Prospect Park took it over. I would also love it more if a lot of the original characters were to come back.
I would watch every episode !!!
Omg, my favorite!!! Please tell us when, cannot wait!!
I think Itz a great idea I’ve been watching all my children since I was 12 years old with my dads hha I was heartbroken wen it went off the air
Erica vs. Maria redux would be worth it … so Maddie Gray would have to be a central character. Ooh … and David Hayward has (terrible) history with both of them, too … and then, of course, JR Chandler is brother-in-law to Mateo Santos and the murderer of Erica’s daughter-in-law …
I know reboots don’t necessarily play slavishly to the histories of the original, but there are already so many storylines that perfectly play into that concept but still would allow for fresh faces and new directions. I do hope they’ll play up the history of the Kanes and Santoses (and the Chandlers, especially if Hayley shows up).
It would be worth watching to me as a life long fan. Always give something a chance.
I would love it I miss all my children
That is so cool love All My Children would be great if ut comes back on even bettrt in PrimeTime wtg Kelly N Mark ❤❤
Really want this back on
I sure would like this to happen!
AMC never aired in Hell, but I support this idea. ABC has wasted far too much time filling their prime time schedule with idiotic “reality” shows and more recently, reanimated corpses of 1970s game shows. It’s about time they got back to something that involves an actual creative process…. even if it is the resurrection of a show they killed in a previous idiotic “business decision”.
My favorite thing about AMC was the brilliant campiness from the creator Agnes Nixon and her writers. There was almost always an underlying humor in every storyline except the obvious serious ones like anorexic behavior. Or the death of a child etc.. I miss the whole thing. I had watched the show since season one when I was home from school sick for a week. I found was to watch it. On school lunch and then thank goodness for VCR’s then DVR’s.. I didn’t miss much. I found out that my teacher after our lunch period was hooked too in high school, she let us be 25 minutes late for class everyday if we would tell her what happened that day she told our other classmates we were on assignment.. lol.. it was home Ex…
it must have that humor. Tad Martin character was a highlight.. all of it!! Thank you
I can’t believe it! This is astonishing News! I’ve been saying since 2013 after the brief on-line Prospect Park version left us high and dry, that they ought to to a new inception and call it something like “Pine Valley” and produce it as a night-time Prime ‘soap’ (which many night time shows technically are) – but after the pandemic hit, even I lost hope that something like this could actually surface – it’s a Holiday Miracle!
Definitely need Michael Knight and Susan Lucci.
What is Pine Valley without Erica and Tad the Cad
Yessss can’t wait n really misssss n love watch
It will be interesting to see what develops. IF, for some reason, ABC doesn’t pick it up, I would at least hope they’d air the pilot as a “gift” to all the soap fans who supported ABC for so many years.

Billy Miller Memorial Scholarship Endowment Created at His Alma Mater to Help Others ‘Realize Their Dreams’

Two months since three-time Daytime Emmy-winning actor, Billy Miller passed away, the beloved All My Children (ex-Richie), General Hospital (ex-Jason/Drew) and The Young and the Restless (ex-Billy) star, will now have a permanent scholarship endowment in his honor at the University of Texas at Austin which was Miller’s alma mater.
Through the scholarship, it will be able to help radio/television and film undergraduate students with financial need. Billy’s family and friends have established this permanent scholarship in his memory, naming it the William Jon Miller II “Billy Miller” Memorial Scholarship. They hope the endowment will be a legacy to his life and love of acting.
Before becoming soap-famous, Billy graduated from the the university’s department of Radio-Television-Film (RTF) at the Moody College of Communication. On its official website, they shared the news of this special memorial scholarship and how Miller died at the age of 43 after surrendering his life to bipolar depression, which he struggled with his whole life.

Photo: JPI
Megan Hubbell, Billy’s sister, expressed, “We want something positive to be held in his name in perpetuity through the University he loved. He would be honored to know that even in death, he can help someone else realize their dreams.”
She added how she hoped her immensely talented brother will be remembered: “I hope BJ (as Billy was known by to his friends and family) is remembered for the kind-hearted, silly, funny, goofy, generous, beautiful soul that he was His megawatt smile, deep belly laugh and gorgeous mug were gifts on screen, but his true self was a bright light that will be carried with us forever.”

Photo: JPI
According to Miller’s family, Billy had his picks of schools and UT was his first choice. When he first came to the university, Billy started in the zoology program before switching to radio-television-film, where he felt he belonged. Miller was one of just 20 students at the time accepted into the department’s prestigious production-sequence program.
“BJ was extremely proud to be a Texas Longhorn and always remembered his time there fondly,” Hubbell said. “The time he spent at UT allowed him the space to explore who he wanted to be and what he wanted to accomplish.”

Photo: JPI
In honoring her brother’s work and strength to persevere in the often heartbreaking world of entertainment, Megan related: “I always admired the guts it took to go after a dream in Hollywood that so many people tried to discourage. He heard, ‘You’ll never make it’ more times than I care to count, but he used those comments as fuel and said, ‘Watch me.’”
Miller’s roles went far beyond those on daytime soap operas, as throughout his career he played major parts in primetime’s Suits, Ray Donovan and Castle to name but a few.

In his death, Billy’s family is encouraging people to take stock of their own mental health. “BJ would want anyone struggling with intrusive thoughts to seek professional help,” Hubbell said. “Do not suffer in silence or try to muscle through on your own. Mental health is vitally important and shouldn’t be spoken about in silos behind closed doors but rather in open forums with open arms. Shame has no place in the discussion to seek help.”

As is tradition with “Live’s Halloween” episodes, they are always filled with costume and pop culture moments and special guest surprises. Ripa and Consuelos were right in step with the biggest social media love story at the moment; that of Swift and her burgeoning romance with Kansas City Chiefs Tight End, Travis Kelce.
During Halloween week which started on Monday, October 30, Live was up up 11% versus the week prior in total viewers, and averaged 2.6 million viewers throughout the week. Year-over-year, the talk show was up that week by 15% in terms of total viewers. It looks like the former All My Children’s alum on-screen chemistry is just as palpable as it off-screen; as the two marrieds are making quite a successful run together on morning television.
