The battle lines are drawn at Fusion with Madison on Greenlee’s team and Randi on Erica’s.  Randi knows she’s going to have to stay on her toes around Madison.  Adam and David toy with each other but decide to stick to their agreement.  Greenlee’s reunites with David at the mansion after she sends her a text message using Adam’s phone.  Jesse arrives as Adam is demanding that Greenlee tell him where David disappeared to.  Tad comes down hard on Damon before he starts his community service but later goes to the hospital to apologize.  Tad admits to Krystal that Damon could be his son.  Opal sees through Liza when Liza questions her about Tad and Krystal.  Frankie pops pain pills before performing surgery for the first time since injuring his hands.  After the successful surgery, Frankie throws his bottle of pills in the trashcan.  Damon finds Frankie’s pills in the trash and pockets them just as Angie approaches him from behind.

Wanting to throw Jesse off track, Adam allows him and his men to search the mansion but David cleverly eludes them.  Greenlee finds David after Jesse leaves and is caught off guard when David impulsively kisses her.  David and Greenlee both dismiss the kiss bit its clear it meant something to him.  Tad desperately wants to make contact with Hillary after getting confirmation that Damon is his son.  Angie would take action against Damon when she finds him pocketing the bottle of pills he found in the trash but quickly pulls back after noticing the prescription belongs to Frankie.  Amanda throws Jake for a loop when she tells him she’d like to start working again and probes Madison about any possible openings at Fusion.  Ryan reveals to Jake that he bought the casino out from under Zach using a dummy corporation he formed as a front for Cambias.  Madison laments to Ryan that she fears losing her job because she forgot to follow through with securing the location for Greenlee’s photo shoot.   Ryan comes to Madison’s rescue when he offers to let her use the casino for Greenlee’s new ad campaign. Tad’s temper flares when Liza tells him she went to Ohio and saw Hillary.  Liza informs Tad that Hillary was headed off to Europe and is stunned when Tad reveals he found out he’s Damon’s father.  Liza’s heartbroken when she feels as though Tad is pushing her away.  Damon continues to act out at the hospital while doing his community service.  Adam asks Brooke to keep Annie occupied after David warns him he can’t endure too much excitement.  An eavesdropping Annie assumes Brooke and Adam are having an affair.  Greenlee’s thrown for a loop when Ryan announces he bought the casino when she goes there to scout the location for her photo shoot.  Ryan gets Greenlee to open up a little bit about how she feels.  Pushed to the limit, Annie lets JR know that she acted as his bone marrow donor and saved his life.  David spies on Annie and Scott from the tunnels and later warns Adam that Annie’s the same devious person she’s always been.  Liza’s devastated when Tad pulls away from her.  Damon tries to cover his hurt when Tad informs him his parents took off for an extended European trip.  Damon swipes a bottle of pills off a cart at the hospital.  Colby shares a warm moment with Liza.

DANCING WITH THE STARS: Jesse Metcalfe Eliminated, Chrishell Stause Gets A Surprise From NKOTB

Last night on  ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, another soap opera alumni’s journey on the ballroom dance floor came to an end, when Jesse Metcalfe’s (Passions, Desperate Houswives and Dallas) ) and his pro partner, Sharna Burgess, were sent home by the judges after landing in the bottom two.

After combining the judges scores and fan voting at home, the other couple joining Jesse and Sharna in the bottom two were  Vernon Davis and Peta Murgatroyd.  This season it is up to the judges to choose who stays and who goes when forced with picking between the two lowest scoring couples of the night.. Bruno chose Vernon, Carrie Ann followed and Derek also revealed he would have saved Davis or Metcalfe as well.

With Metcalfe eliminated following last’s week’s departure of Ex-Another World’s Anne Heche, that leaves only Chrishell Stause still in the running vying for the Mirror Ball Trophy from the world of daytime drama.

Here’s a recap of what went down on the dance floor for Metcalfe, Stause and Davis last night.

Jesse Metcalfe and Sharna Burgess – (Tango) – “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”

Dancing to the classic by Tears for Fears, Metcalfe promised in the pre-package to loosen up and show a more human and vulnerable side to his dancing.  However, although there was a bit more coming from Jesse this outing, the judges criticized him for needing more technique than just performance. SCORE 19 out of 30

Chrishell Stause and Gleb Savchenko (Cha-Cha)  – “The Right Stuff”

Revealing to all on the pre-package, Chrishell is a huge New Kids on the Block fan from back in her teens, and was stoked to dance to their song during the night’s 80’s competition,   However, during the performance, while Stause has shown improvement, this time the judges noted she seemed to slow down to much during the dance and also she needs to watch her footwork.  After Gleb and Chrishell danced, Tyra Banks had a surprise for Chrishell when the NKOTB sent in a viral video message to their biggest fan!  Stause was overjoyed.  SCORE 19 out of 30

Vernon Davis and Peta Murgatroyd –  (Tango) – “Living’ on a Prayer”

Performing to Bon Jovi’s classic “Living on a Prayer”, Davis donned some rocker dude long locks and hit the floor with Murgatroyd, but the former pro football star looked stiff moving around the ballroom.  Judge Bruno noted that his footwork was a bit flat.  However, Carrie Ann shared she liked the quality of movement he was showing them.  SCORE 21 out of 30

So after looking at the clips of their performances below, did the right person get sent home in Metcalfe vs. Davis?  Do you think Chrishell can hold out longer on the series through the next rounds of competition?  Let us know in the comments section. (Also check out the moment when NKOTB message to Stause is played during the broadcast.)

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Mike’s Funeral Brings The Alzheimer’s Storyline Full Circle to Its Heart-Tugging Conclusion

When a soap opera allows a full episode to stay in the story they are telling, it can often make for a riveting hour of television.  This was the case and then some on Thursday’s emotional ending to General Hospital’s Alzheimer’s storyline; when the character of Mike Corbin (Max Gail) was given a proper send-off – a funeral – and being eulogized by those who loved and cared for him.

When GH is at its best through the years has been when it tackles social issues of our time, and this story will stand among the iconic soap’s best.  The backdrop of the story was that of father and son, grappling with and coming to terms with the past, finding love, forgiveness and redemption against this most horrific of diseases that has afflicted so many.

In the episode, Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright) go to church and prepare themselves for the emotional day as mourners come through and share their grief and condolensces and love for Mike.  Those included: Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth – back for this one), Stella (Vernee Watson), Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) and a touching moment between Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) and Carly where the legal eagle says to Carly that if she ever needs to drink and vent let her know.

As the funeral begins, one by one Mike’s family and friends say beautiful words of what he meant to them,. Michael reflects about how his grandfather loved to party and how he’d like them all to raise a glass for him. . Olivia, speaks on behalf of Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), and how close Mike and Dante were.  Ava (Maura West) talks about the love and kindness and joy he brought to little Avery.

When Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) got up to speak, things became even more heartbreaking when she flashes back to a scene where she was having a terrible time and Mike was there for – always a great listener- but he tells he eventually, he will not remember her.

GH did a outstanding job of selecting scenes throughout the eulogies that punctuated who Mike was … and how he tied in to all of the characters lives.  Jason (Steve Burton) shared how he knew it wasn’t easy for Mike to come back and try to make amends with Sonny, but that no matter what, Mike kept trying to get through to Sonny to make things right between them.

Stella’s moment was also heartbreaking recalling the man who became her friend.  Carly, who was the glue that held Sonny and the family together during Mike’s illness, shared her doubt if the family could handle Mike, and what was to come, but how Sonny helped his father find inner-peace..

When Sonny gets up to talk he reveals he had a lot of anger towards his father, and how the illness made him truly see the man his dad was inside.  Sonny tells his dad he is proud of him and how grateful he was that he came back into his life.   Next, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) sings as the mourners reflect back on Mike in a touching series of juxtaposed clips against the characters in the moment at the funeral.

After the service had concluded Sonny and Carly talk how Morgan and Mike are together now, but Sonny asks for some time alone in the church. It is then Mike appears and tells his son it’s time he forgave himself, since Sonny forgave Mike.  He tells Sonny that he has made him very proud.  As he gets up to leave he kisses Sonny on the forehead and goes towards the light and to heaven.  Just after that, Dante appears at the front of the church, shocking Sonny in a beautiful analogy that now this father and son must deal with what’s ahead in their relationship, just as Sonny and Mike had done.

This episode featured beautiful work by Maurice Benard, and Max Gail and everyone in the supporting cast who had their moments.  It was an ensemble piece but led by Benard and Gail, who should both be receiving Emmys in 2021 for their work..

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Kim Delaney Makes Her Debut as Jackie Templeton Returns to Port Charles

Tuesday’s episode of General Hospital brought with it the arrival of Kim Delaney back to the soap opera scene.  The fan favorite primetime, film, and daytime star has returned to the network (ABC) that made her soap-famous when she played a young Jenny Gardner on All My Children back in the early 80’s.

Fast-forward to 2020, and Delaney is actually a recast in the marquee role that kicked off Demi Moore’s career, that of ace investigative journalist and reporter, Jackie Templeton.  Moore played the role of Luke’s (Tony Geary) new love interest (following the disappearance of Laura into the fog) back in 1982.

Now Jackie is brought into the present day story by snooping reporter, Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan).  She wants Jackie’s help in bringing down Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) who is creating havoc in Port Charles at the hospital.   After their brief meeting, who should Jackie run into?  None other than her ex, Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers).

As longtime GH fans remember, after her involvement with Luke, Jackie became romantically involved with Robert.  But that went bust when Robert married a pregnant Holly (Emma Samms) to keep her from being deported out of the country.   All of that begs the question, is Jackie the one holding Holly hostage in some twisted vendetta from years gone by?

It was great to see Kim Delaney back on daytime, and now GH fans will wait to see what the writers have planned for her.

Do you think Jackie is good, evil, somewhere in between?   And according to reports, look for Jackie to have a profound effect on the lives of Chase (Josh Swickard) and Finn (Michael Easton).

So, what did you think of Kim’s first episode back to daytime and as Jackie Templeton? Comment below.
