Jake and Brot rescue Amanda and Natalia.  Amanda’s left shaken by the ordeal and finds comfort in Jake’s arms.  While at the hospital being checked out, Natalia tells Jesse that Brot was the real hero during the fracas and hints his suspension should be lifted.  Natalia later seeks Brot out in the park and hands him his badge.  Ryan tries to make a bargain with Greenlee, saying he’ll accompany her to Rio to help her with her business crisis in exchange for her clearing Kendall’s name.  Greenlee initially refuses Ryan’s offer but later returns with plane tickets for the both of them.  Madison tries to dismiss David when he tells her he wants her to make a play for Ryan.  Annie seethes when JR announces he’s buying a new house for his family in order to get away from her.  An angry Annie is on the verge of telling Marissa she slept with JR but backs off when he walks in the room.  Jack and Erica can’t resist the attraction they feel for each other.

David’s good mood is shattered when he learns Greenlee is going to Rio on a business trip with Ryan.  Greenlee insists to David she has no interest in Ryan, pointing out she’s committed to her marriage.  Ryan warns David he’s taking a page from his book and subtly implies he might not have given up on Greenlee.  After getting a call from Colby, Liza and Tad head to the hospital where Damon’s being treated for a minor injury after having been arrested on a vandalism charge.  Tad once again gets Damon out of his latest jam by paying off the shop owner who could press charges against him.  Colby offers to let Damon stay at the mansion after he makes it clear he wants nothing to do with Tad.  Annie gloats when Scott is put in charge of Chandler Enterprises over JR.  The sexual tension between Annie and JR remains high as JR makes plans to meet up with her at a hotel room.  Marissa suspects there’s more going on than she’s being told JR drugs Annie and leaves her barely conscious in the hotel room.  JR sends Scott to tend to Annie and prepares to come clean with Marissa.  Jake’s concerned for Amanda, who finally admits she’s not as okay as she claims after her ordeal.  Jake tries to ease Amanda’s fears. David enjoys toying with Angie when she and Jesse encounter him and Liza at the Yacht Club.  Jesse wonders what’s really going on between Liza and David.  David pulls the rug out from under Angie JR’s world comes crashing down around him after he confesses to Marissa that he slept with Annie.  Marissa decimates JR when she removes her wedding ring and walks out on him.  Annie admits to Scott that she does have real feelings for JR.  JR and Annie come face to face.  In Rio, Greenlee worries that she might be pregnant when she can’t shake her nausea.  David pressures Madison to get Ryan into her bed to keep him away from Greenlee.  Jesse throws his support behind Angie.

General Hospital

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Alex Is ‘Wicked’ To Anna; Franco Receives Devastating Diagnosis

Friday’s episode of General Hospital brought with it a clever play on the Broadway smash hit musical, Wicked, but no there was no singing, instead we had the always brilliant Finola Hughes, playing the good witch and the bad witch, in the form of portraying twin sisters, Anna and Alex as Halloween night comes to Port Charles.

In story, Anna, who is dressed for Halloween in white as a good witch, reads the report in front of Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) that proves that Faison did not have the marker for RA (rheumatoid arthritis) which then proves that since she did not have it, nor Faison, that Alex is the biological mother of Peter August (Wes Ramsey).

All this time, as Anna says, she blamed herself for being with Faison only to find out that was a complete lie.  Anna becomes so incensed by all of Alex’s machinations that she smashes a glass just as the power goes out.  Valentin tells Anna he was also used by her sister where Peter was concerned.  Anna questions whether she should warn Peter, that Alex might be after him and his unborn child with Maxie (Kirsten Storms).  Valentin is convinced they need to get rid of Alex, before she does something to them.

Anna does decide Peter should show know the truth, as Valentin leaves to find out Alex’s whereabouts.  When the lights come back on at Anna’s, she is clubbed over the head by Alex who is dressed in black as a bad witch. Later, when kids come to trick-or-treat at Anna’s, she has switched places with her sister offering the kid’s candy after stashing Anna away in the basement and most-likely locking her in there.

Peter is in a whole heap of trouble as he keeps getting creepy phone calls from Helena saying they have “unfinished business”.  We later see a trap is being set by Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) in a secret location.  Sam is using a voice-alternating ‘Pro Tools’ like audio software program to simulate Helena’s voice to spook Peter and to set him up!

Back at the hospital, Terry (Cassandra James) delivers terrible news to Franco (Roger Howarth). His test results show he has a malignant tumor again on the front lobe of his brain, and that it is inoperable and cannot be removed through surgery.  She tells him she wants to run more tests to see what options they have.

When she asks Franco if he has developed any symptoms, he flashes back to the night at Wyndemere when Ava’s (Maura West) painting was revealed and ruined with C077x spray-painted across it and a haunting dream he had, but denies to Terry that he has had any problems as of now.  When she tells him they need to tell Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), Franco says he does not want to tell her, or the boys, about this.  When Liz enters the room, Terry and Franco keep mum as to his condition, for now.

Roger Howarth showed once again why he can always be counted on to bring poignant moments to his scenes as Franco.  Be on the lookout for what happens with this story.  In a November sweeps preview in the current issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, GH head writers, Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor teased about the medical crisis that it “may hold the key to unlocking one of the biggest mysteries in Port Charles – something that has been in the works for years.”

So, what did you think will happen next in the Anna/Alex saga?  What do you think will ultimately happen to Franco? Will he become the ‘killer’ Franco again? What could be the mystery the co-head writers are referring to? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

THE BACHELORETTE: Clare’s Laser-Focus on Dale Pisses Off The Other Guys; ABC Exec Robert Mills Reveals The Turning Point When They Knew They Had To Replace Her

There was a lot to unpack on last night’s episode of ABC’s The Bachelorette, and it’s becoming harder to like Clare and Dale in this messy first part of the season where everyone is awaiting next week’s installment where things are previewed to really blow up.  Thus, setting the stage for Tayshia Adams to replace Clare as the new ‘Bachelorette’.

So here is what went down: Yosef finally could not take it anymore and had to get off of his chest what he felt about Clare … to her! In a moment alone with her, he told her how “immature” she was and how demeaning it was to the men to make them play “strip dodgeball” and that the way she was behaving is not something he wants his daughter to see.  He tells her there are a lot of  “red flags” surrounding her.

Yosef then launched into: “I’m ashamed to be associated with you!” Adding, “I can’t believe I sacrificed so much to be here just for this tasteless and classless display.”   Clare fired-back, “I never thought I would have to repeat these words to another man. I would never want my children to have a father like you. Get out of here.”   Of course, Clare was referencing her tirade launched on Juan Pablo during his season of The Bachelor in which she was the runner-up.  Back to this season, an angry Yosef gets in the limo and it is driven away, and thus he is never to be heard from again in the episode.

But lo and behold, who should come to crying Clare’s rescue? Yup, you got it, Dale, the man she is enamored with, holding her in his arms and consoling her.  Later, Clare in a testimonial tells the cameras she is falling in love with him.

Fast forward – after cancelling the group date Clare brought the following men outside of her place for a cocktail party: Jason, Jay, Eazy, Chasen, Blake, Ed and Riley … and Dale! But then Dale tells the guys he wants a few moments alone with Clare and will be back.  Next thing you know Clare and Dale are gone for an hour because they are making out at Clare’s place, until Eazy finds them together, at that point, pretending that they were just hanging out.  Now all the guys are pissed at Dale.

Next, Clare goes on a one-one-one date with Zac J. and it blows up in his face, when he goes in for a kiss and grabs her by the neck and the arm and she doesn’t like it.  Later, Chris Harrison tells him that Clare will not be joining him for dinner, so he is sent packing and limo’s off the show too!

Then, we come to the ‘Roast’ where the guys are going to learn how to do some comedic roasting of one another by comedian Margaret Cho, who came to the La Quinta for a guest appearance on the reality-dating show.. But instead of throwing zingers at each other, Dale was the epicenter of the remarks, especially from Bennett, who really laid in to him as witnessed by Clare and Margaret who thought it was very hostile, while the other men really enjoyed it.

Later, during a cocktail party where all the guys were hoping for one-one-one time with Clare, she spent the entire party individually talking to them about Dale, and what Dale was saying about her in the house, and about the hostility shown to him by all the guys,  Then, the guys were over her!   After the suitors did not “give her what she needed,” Clare told a producer, “I’m not going to sit there (after they) dished on my fiance; so hard!” What?

In addition, after the roast group date that went south,  Clare during a testimonial decided to give herself the rose instead of any of her suitors! On former ‘Bachelor’s” Nick Viall’s podcast, ‘The Viall Files’, Robert Mills, ABC’s Alternative Series, Specials & Late-Night Programming, noted that was the turning point for the production, citing: “When she didn’t give out that rose and she just gave it to herself, that was it.  That was really it, when we started making the call (to replace her).”

At the end of the episode, we were given a sneak peek to next week which will air on a special night due to the presidential election. The Bachelorette returns on Thursday November 5th.  In the preview, Tayshia is seen coming out of a pool in a bikini, as Clare’s time as the ‘Bachelorette’ is quickly coming to an end.
