ATWT Alum & Dear Evan Hansen’s Michael Park Reveals ‘The Role He Could Do In His Sleep’, ‘The Role He Was Funniest In’! Can Soaps Fans Name Them?

Courtesy/Broadway.com

Two-time Daytime Emmy winner, Michael Park (Ex-Jack, ATWT) is currently in the cast of the new smash hit musical Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway. Park, who since leaving ATWT following its cancellation, has continued to rack up impressive credits and roles on The Great White Way.

In Broadway.com’s very cute segment entitled Role Call with Michael Park, he is asked several questions and must choose from a board behind him filled with note cards, which role from his myriad of TV and stage characters fits the bill.

When asked: Which role he was the funniest in, Park revealed the infamous Dirk from the online series Steamboat!  Remember, the series featuring Park, Michael O’ Leary and Kim Zimmer?  Later when asked: What role could he do in his sleep, of course it was none other than the beloved Jack Snyder of Oakdale.  Michael expresses he loved playing Jack and he misses him, and he knows a lot of people out there miss him, too!

In addition, when asked: What role would he love to do again, Park says House of Cards, Curtis Haas, and the opportunity to work with Kevin Spacey again.  With his current role of Larry Murphy in Dear Evan Hansen, and partaking in this role call “walk down memory”, Michael admits it left him a bit emotional!

Watch the video here, and then let us know what you thought of it.  Do, you wish you could see Jack Snyder on ATWT one more time?  And if you have seen Michael and the cast of Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway, let us know what you thought of the performances and the show!

This was fantastic! Michael Park excelled on As the World Turns and his chemistry with Maura West (Carly) was outstanding! I love the work he is doing now, though, I would so love seeing him back on a soap opera!

Ironically I went to New York back in 1996 to visit the set of ATWT for three days. While I was in town I took in a couple of Broadway shows. One of them was “Smokey Joe’s Cafe” which I thoroughly enjoyed. Imagine my surprise a year or so later when while watching my favourite soap that guy from “Smokey Joe’s Cafe” pops up in the new role of Jack Snyder. Apparently I was a Michael Park fan before I even knew his name!

The true CarJack fan inside of me would love that but, at the same time, I’d prefer seeing him on another soap opera to avoid the automatic pull people would want to be seeing. I’d love to see him on DAYS or Y&R!

Carly and her G-Man will never forget Jack Snider one of my favourite roles on As The World Turns. That couple had chemistry to burn. They were funny , romantic, and so entertaining. A passionate couple I rooted for!

I always enjoyed watching MP in action on ATWT and any other time I’ve seen him on TV. (Most recently ~ for me ~ as Jim Gordon’s dad in flashbacks.) He’s great at anything he does.

I would love to see him back on a soap!
