B&B Casts Kiara Barnes To Contract Role
There is another fresh face coming to The Bold and the Beautiful!
News today out of Soap Opera Digest has that the CBS Daytime drama has cast singer and actress, Kiara Barnes in a new mystery role that of Zoe.
It appear that Zoe has a secret past with another character on the canvas, but who is it?
Kiara has her new EP Sirens To The Moon available now on iTunes. You can check out her soulful musical style here.
So, who do you think Zoe will be entrenched in storyline with? Share your thoughts via the comment section below
At first glance I thought it was a younger picture of Lisa Bonet.
Emma,Xander and now Zoe? I am all for a fresh face or 2 but slow down B&B! And contract? Lets not dump our vets! The show is only 30mins!
I agree. Quinn and Eric are AWOL. Thorne is on a bit more now, but why is he involved in Hope’s line? I guess she’ll put Emma’s nose out of joint.
I think Kiara’s eyebrows are too much and takeover her face.
Never heard of her. I hate when they bump up the teens for summer. Use the characters already on the canvas. Where are Quinn and Eric? Shouldn’t Quinn be involved in Bill using and dumping her son, Wyatt????
I’m all for this. I love when they use fresh faces and stories during the summer. If they didn’t, it would be the same old merry go round with the vets.
I agree. How many viewers under 60 care one whit about great grandpa, Eric? How many times do we have to pretend that Bill is still a stud and Brook is still a femme fatale? It’s freaking absurd.
My objection to the newbies is where is Nicole? Why didn’t they just write for her? She is talented and familiar. We don’t need Emma nor, this new girl. And give Carter a story! I don’t care about this new guy. Nobody on the current writing staff has enough skill to make these new characters compelling before the audience they were hired to cultivate, returns to school. It’s almost July. Forget all these new characters. Ratings will continue to drop.
I, for one, care many “whits” about Eric and I’m sure many others do. Makes no difference to me how old he is; he’s the heart/head of Forrester. Miss his presence on the show and hope he’s back soon and featured more often.
I’m speaking of viewers under sixty. Actually advertisers who pay to keep these shows on the air are the ones who don’t care what anyone over 49 thinks.
I’m way under 60 and I like him. And there are many viewers who like Laura, Scorpio, Anna, Monica, etc on GH; Anna and Laura are near 60 and Monica and Scorpio are over 70.
Eric on B&B is a great character. And while I think “Bill” is an egocentric narcissist, he IS still hot, Brooke is still quite attractive, etc. These shows are at their best when they have characters from different generations as they’ve always had since their inception.
As for advertisers, they always want to attract younger demographics… in prime time, as well. And yet prime time shows, too, have older actors/characters. If the stories are good then the viewer will be hooked, regardless of age. Soaps are not the Disney Channel nor are they on The CW or Fox (which I also watch ala The Flash, Inhumans, Vampire Diaries, The Originals, etc). Daytime soaps, no matter how many young characters they bring in, are never going to attract the viewers they did decades ago. Advertisers realize that and so do executives which is why they’re a soon-to-be bygone genre.
You make good, valid points. I maintain my views but respect yours.
I’m frustrated with the writing more than anything. The casting and who tptb chooses to showcase is secondary to the fact that the stories are lousy.
Thank you, Soapluv for your reply. Just to clarify; I’m not against new characters or younger characters. I just always have an issue when people think people are too old…in any capacity. And as I said (and, yes, this is subjective) I enjoy characters of all ages IF I like the character and the story.
As for B&B, I agree. Some of the stories are lousy or just repetitive. I wrote that to Rose several comments below.
Here’s hoping it picks up and that we have our soaps on for quite a while to come!
Thank you for the cordial exchange. 😉
Yes,these older characters are the foundation of the show. To many newbies!!!
Who? Oh yeah. Tis the season. Bump up young kids for the summer at the expense of the vets.
Let me see: I have a feeling that this Zoe chick has a past with…Justin. Hey…just guessing here…lol.
Later.
Gone by September.
I’m going to assume she has a past with the new British nephew/intern, Xander. Can’t tell by the picture: is she old enough to be his mother? Not liking any of it. So let’s see; they got rid of Rick (recurring), Thomas, Zende, Nicole, RJ, Cocoa, the Spectra’s (though Sally’s back), Eric and Quinn are barely on, Charlie’s barely around…what’s left? The entire “clan” is gone and we’ve got two new interns in place of RJ and Cocoa and now another newbie.
Also think “Emma” needs a bit more acting experience; and don’t get me started on Sheryl Underwood. WHY is she on the show? The fourth wall has been broken…
Rebecca1…Agree…hoping this is just the lazy, summer interlude storyline, and will be over shortly. About the only thing I like is that Sally is back. I do like her with Wyatt. But enough kissy stuff. Let’s get Sally creative again. And enough of Hope/Steffy/Liam/ Bill.
Hi, Rose. Well, it’s a month since I posted that and to be honest, I’m enjoying this new character Zoe! She brings a weird, funky, interesting vibe. “Emma” (the actress) needs more experience; Xander is a cute addition.
I agree about Sally. Love that she’s back but not if she’s just going to be in the background. Somehow without her own company, her “gram”, Saul, Darlita; just not the same. I love Sally and don’t they should have gotten rid of her in the first place; just hope they don’t waste the character.
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen such redundant dialogue on a soap before as I have with the Liam/Hope scenes. I rarely FF and I have to. It’s not a choice. 😉 Since I’ve only been watching Days for under two years it’s not that I’m sick of the Bill/Steffy/Liam/Hope thing’ it’s just the way they’re going about it. Extremely lazy writing. Seems they wrote a certain number of lines that they repeat over and over again. Sort of like some song lyrics but at least I can dance to those!
Rebecca1…I think Zoe does have an exotic air about her. I don’t particularly like the character, but she is really interesting and shakes it up in an otherwise same-old, same-old B&B. I do like how she can hold her own/dominate a scene even with the more experienced actors around her. Quite a feat for a summer newbie.
I’d like it if Sally and Wyatt decided to start their own offshoot design company, and bring the rest of Sally’s “family” back?
My thoughts on the B&B characters…is it my imagination that they have to work with less established, major actors than GH? And with these actors they get more air time than those left on GH? Maybe that’s why they keep recycling Liam, Steffy, Hope and Bill. But I am bored with them, and who loves who, etc. You can always predict what will probably happened for the next few weeks.
Hey again, Rose.
I’m not sure about your question. Did you mean that the established, experienced actors on B&B have scenes with less experienced actors or that the actors in general are less established, experienced. If it’s the latter, no; I don’t think the B&B actors are less established. Most of them are from other soaps and are excellent in their own right. If for some reason they were off B&B I’d love to see any of them on GH. And, of course, we can’t compare shows or cast. B&B is only a half hour and they have a much smaller cast.
I actually still like the show but the Liam, Hope, Steffy thing is ridiculous. Things are about to shake up though as Steffy decides to be with Bill. That should be interesting and create soapy drama.
I like the idea of Wyatt and Steffy going out on their own. He’s great at PR; did a great job with promoting Steffy. But, still, Sally would need capital to bring back her staff.
Funny how easily both he and Katie got over each other; how quickly Sally got over Thomas while she was still “in love” with Liam. And, don’t you think Liam should have defended Sally when she was accused of sending the threats? I mean, c’mon!!!! They got so close; he didn’t know her enough to know she wouldn’t do that? That was also ridiculous.
Rebecca1…My question really isn’t very clear. you know, mixing up one word when you mean another can make a big difference! It should read ” they have to work with “fewer” than “less” established major actors than on GH.
Haha! Paleeez approve my comment soon so I can edit it! Was multi-tasking and lottsa errors! Okay; now THIS comment is no longer needed. No delete button. 🙂
Anyone now designer of pink handbag Zoey has been carrying – Love it and would like to buy Also love the charater
I don’t like this story line. Have to tape the show then fast forward to see the characters I enjoy. I sgree, this is only a half hour show. I miss the regulars! Please cancel this contract. Might just discontinue the show.
