Actress Alley Mills, best known to soap opera fans for her role as Pam Douglas (oh, those lemon bars) on The Bold and the Beautiful, has joined the cast of ABC’s General Hospital.

The news comes in the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands everywhere on Friday.

According to SOD, Mills will be playing a mystery role and will first appear later this month on GH.

Previously, Alley previously played the late Stephanie Forrester’s (Susan Flannery) sister on B&B from 2006-2019, and was last seen on the soap in 2021.

Mills is also beloved by primetime fans for her role in the original version of the sitcom, The Wonder Years as Norma Arnold.

So, who do you think Alley will be playing on GH? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

Esme’s mother

Or the nanny?

Elizabeth’s mother?

Three possibilities here…

1) We know that Holly is going to appear later this month. As far as we know, she’s still being held prisoner on Cassadine Island. Somebody has to be in charge of her there, and the guards who were holding Drew prisoner are all dead, aren’t they?

2) Now that Esme has resurfaced, it’s a probability that somebody has helped her to stay hidden all this time. Possibly this “Maggie” person who she had the box full of letters from, who apparently was a nanny who helped raise Esme.

3) Elizabeth Webber’s mother Carolyn…. a woman who has never been seen in any form and didn’t even have a name until about three months ago.

Hopefully it’s one of those three, and not another pointless new character not connected to any story.

While many of us have been clamoring for Elizabeth to have more family around (and my first guess went to Mills as Carolyn), Maggie or Virginia seem more likely. Perhaps even Charity Gatlin-Holt.

I forgot all about Charity. I could have sworn that Austin said both of his parents were dead, but that creepy skinhead cousin of his has made several references to a female “boss”, in a business that is apparently “family owned & operated”, so that does leave an opening for Charity…or some other previously unknown family member.

Given a choice, I’d say Elizabeth needs family more than any of the newbies do.

I’m sure she will have something to do with the Carly/Florida storyline

Oh Nancy, I’m getting so confused trying to connect all these stories. I guess I’m gonna have to start listening more closely, which will be hard since I normally fast-forward Drew and Carly together.

I Bet it’s Virginia Benson

Only if they’re doing flashback scenes. There’s no need to bring her back from the dead. If it’s flashbacks they will probably have Joss playing the teen Carly again, like they did when they created the backstory for Psycho Nelle out of thin air.

Absolutely delighted by this!!! She’s such a lovely lady and a great talent.

She was actually in at least one episode of B&B this year 2022. This past summer after Quinn and Eric broke up Quinn confronted Donna at Forrester and Charlie and Pam were there.

Elena Cassidine

The only way that works is if the actual Helena made a clone of herself that was 30 years younger than the original.

A Helena recast would be a waste of time. An age inappropriate recast would be cause to fire a head writer (like when “Frank Smith” last appeared and he looked younger than Luke Spencer… the writer responsible for that mess was dismissed shortly after… and is now wrecking Days of Our Lives)

I think she will turn out to be Esmes nanny that she’s been corresponding with.

Diane’s Mom

Miss seeing her on B&B. Glad to see she’s getting out there after the death of her husband.

Good for Ms. Mills. She is good in everything. As we never see Pam or have her integrated in story, the actress needs a new gig. Looking forward!

I hope Elizabeth’s mother.

Correction she aired two months ago during the drama with Eric

Love Alley, she’s old enough to be just about anyone. Mother, Aunt, whatever!

Heather Webber!?!?!? Nobody had that one in mind. Since Robin Mattson couldn’t return, Mills might be a good choice. Time will tell.

As a longtime viewer, I’m flabbergasted that both Jeff and Heather return on the same episode (albeit in separate?) storylines.

Steven Lars, where are you?

This is why I hate it when they recast “long gone” characters. No judgements on NuJeff yet, since he’s only managed to say one word. But that ain’t Heather Webber. Heather never had a New York accent…. let alone a really BAD one. I’m sure this is some sort of Halloween gimmick and she’ll be gone by Tuesday, but I’m not sure why they even bothered.

Well, if they’re going to bring back Jeff after 40 years, they better have him interact with Heather.

There’s a mention in the previews for the week ahead of Scotty having an unexpected encounter. Sure that will be Heather deriding him for Franco’s death.

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”

Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.

Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.

Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.

Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Take a look at the official GH spoilers for the week below.

MONDAY, AUGUST 3
Jason makes a sacrifice for Danny. Elizabeth becomes privy to a secret. Carly is touched. Valentin has a warning for Nina. Josslyn cautions Brennan.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 4
Brook Lynn and Chase celebrate a milestone. Trina gets an earful. Carly’s plan backfires. Curtis is skeptical. Michael is anxious about his family’s’ future.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5
Sonny wants answers. Ava is struck with inspiration. Curtis’ trial begins. Brook Lynn wrestles with a big decision. Lucy and Serena scheme.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 6
Sonny makes a stunning announcement. Serena makes her move. Willow faces a new threat. Isaiah takes the stand. Lucy questions Laura.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 7
Josslyn is taken aback. Ava courts a new ally. Jordan and Anna catch up. Isaiah vents to Lucas and Elizabeth. Michael questions Jacinda.

Check out the latest ABC promo for General Hospital entitled, “What Did You Do?” below.

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.

The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.

As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL

Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)

According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”

Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.

Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.

In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.

Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
