B&B's Linsey Godfrey On Her Daytime Emmy Nomination, How Caroline Would React To Maya's Transgender Shocker & Surviving Being Hit By A Car!

Courtesy/CBS
The inspirational Linsey Godrey is a nominee at this year’s upcoming 42nd Annual Daytime Emmys for her performance as Caroline Spencer Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful. While Linsey was tearing it up on-screen as an emotional Caroline’s marriage to Rick (Jacob Young) fell apart, thanks to her attraction to Rick’s arch-enemy Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), in real life she made mainstream headlines news when in a shocking sequence of events, she was hit by a car. Since then, Godrey has been a pillar of strength fighting her way back from injuries sustained to her ankles.
Now with her new baby girl Aleta and the man of her dreams The Young and the Restless Robert Adamson (Noah) by her side, plus a possible golden statuette on the way, things are looking up for this survivor whose outlook on life should be a lesson for us all.
On-Air On-Soaps recently caught with Godfrey to get her thoughts on: going for Emmy gold, the shocking bombshell story twist where Caroline’s rival Maya (Karla Mosley) was revealed to be transgender, and how she got through some of her darkest times after being struck out of the blue by a car.
This has been quite a year for you, so many ups and some very difficult downs. What did you think about receiving a Supporting Actress Daytime Emmy nomination from your peers?

Courtesy/CBS
LINSEY: It was quite a year and it was such a shock, because going up into Supporting Actress is one of the largest categories, and is filled with so many women who I deeply respect as actresses, not just on my own show or across the hall at Y&R. To be considered among them is such a huge honor! I submitted the scenes in the CEO office where Rick (Jacob Young) finds out about Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Caroline. There are two episodes where Rick is yelling at her and she is devastated. Performing those scenes were intense, and so I was hoping that they felt intense to watch, and that they affected people the same way it affected me to perform them.
And you got to showcase your dramatic side this past year on B&B, when previously you were nominated in the Younger Actress category for a comedic performance.
LINSEY: I was so grateful for the opportunity when I saw the scripts. I was so excited to be able to show them that while I appreciate their belief in me that I can do comedy and they let me do that, I also wanted to be able to show them that I can do drama, too. I was so grateful to work on such heavy material with someone I love and respect as much as I love and respect Jacob Young.
What did you think of the story twist that revealed Maya is transgender? How do you think Caroline will treat Maya, if and when, she learns the truth about her? Since Caroline has spewed venom at Maya in the past, it will be interesting to see what her reaction will ultimately be.

Courtesy/CBS
LINSEY: I can only imagine what her response would be. Caroline was so horrible to Maya, but Caroline has lesbian mothers and Caroline has strong ties to the LGBT community, so personally I would like Caroline to be on Maya’s side on this. I would love that! I was also excited for Karla Mosley to get the opportunity to showcase her ability, too. She is an amazing actress and a profoundly wonderful human being. I love that The Bold and the Beautiful was in the media, and has not only such a strong domestic, but international following as well. For us to show and to shed light on such a sensitive topic, and to display it with love and compassion ,and to show it’s just another way for us be human, and that we are all people is so important.
Back in February, you were hit by a car in a freak accident. Following you on social media and how you have held it together and persevered through this adversity is truly remarkable. Were there moments where you thought you wouldn’t get through this to the other side? You had beaten cancer, so you are no stranger to being a survivor. Recently, you shared your experiences with Entertainment Tonight’s Brooke Anderson.

LINSEY: There were days I was in the hospital that I was away from my daughter Aleta that I got very, very dark and I was very sad. I felt like, “Man, this is awful. I can’t believe this is happening.” But then when I went home and I got to be around my daughter every day, I realized it could have been so much worse. I could not be here anymore, and I could not have gotten to see her again. So, I think when you remind yourself of that, and that life is so beautiful, and so short, and it is a privilege to get older every single day, it can’t help but make you smile. I think my mom always taught me to never take things too seriously as long as you are still alive and still kicking. The alternative is not as wonderful.
What exactly happened to your ankles after being struck by the car and pinned underneath it?
LINSEY: Both my ankles were broken and dislocated and then my shin bones; my tibula and fibula, were compound fractured which means they splintered outward and went through the skin. It was such a random thing to happen. It was a total fluke thing. I was on the sidewalk and coming out of a pharmacy when I got hit.
How was your man, Y&R’s Robert Adamson (Noah) throughout your ordeal?

LINSEY: Robert is one of the greatest people I know. He is so strong and emphatic, and he has been such a huge help. Our Nanny Amanda, she is helping me so much as well. If it wasn’t for Robert and Amanda I don’t know what I would have done.
What do you think of Linsey’s chances to win Outstanding Supporting Actress at next week’s Daytime Emmys? Do you hope Caroline befriends Maya once she learns she is transgender? Has Linsey’s courageous story of recovery after her accident inspired you? Share your thoughts below!
First of all she seems like such an amazing and wonderful person . How much can 1 go through ? You totally Rock Linsey !! Secondly I think Maya/Myron and Caroline will be Dorian /Viki type friends when Rick finds out and runs for the hills . We know Rick is not going to stay in that situation and the bridge is burned with Caroline It ll be interesting to see what will happen to a womanless angry Rick
So glad she’s fine and i truly do like her character on the show. She’s seriously a bit immature for Ridge but she has just as much hutzpah as Maya. That being said i’m glad LinseyGodfrey addressed the fact that she has two women as parents. Yet and still…Maya has lied and manipulated her way into the Forrester family and although i’m quite sure she and Rick will stay together for better or worse(eventually he will decide he wants children and that brings in a whole other arc for those two)Caroline would have every right on Earth to SLAM MAYA’S BUTT and throw her huge mistake back into her face just like Maya did her…and i can only hope she does.
A WHOLE LOTTA characters will have something to chirp and snark about with this reveal..I just hope it doesn’t get too nasty and go too overboard..although Maya didn’t care how badly she hurt Caroline in breaking up her marriage..although Caroline really should have thought twice before putting her lips to NURidge who always seems to look like a homeless man for some odd reason…LOL…
She is young & a tad immature for Ridge but how about when Brook married Eric for that matter Taylor went after Eric as well so they will make I hope. After all Caroline (the first one) was Ridge’s real love & this one is very much like her aunt. I want to see Ridge throw Brook to the curb especially for all the teasing she’s doing about the age difference. Personally I wish they would either send her back to Italy and every so often show her working from there or get a new guy and leave Ridge to hell alone.
I love linsey she is such a sweetheart and I actually forgot about Caroline having two mothers so it will be really interesting too see what happens when Caroline does find out.
Linsey is a great person and a great actress. I hope she wins.
I think Caroline might be a little shocked and upset to find out about Maya. I would love to see Caroline digging at Maya, just because Maya did take Rick from her and lied. Maya got on Caroline about lying and Maya has an even bigger lie so even if Caroline has compassion about Maya being transgender, there’s still the lying and Maya acting holier than thou when she outed Caroline’s comparatively small lie.
This woman is such a fantastic actress she should have won last year. The only competition she had last year was Camryn Grimes. The winner was Hunter King who should not even have been nominated. I believe the reason there are not enough viewers is because people realize this is fixed and not at all like the real award shows. I would also like to see Caroline get along and help Maya (down the road) but because of how Maya treated her & went after Rick in the shower & outed her in front of everyone in a meeting I would like to see Caroline out her to Rick in a large meeting. Afterwards she should remember her mom is gay & help Maya.
Camryn Grimes was not nominated last year. She has not been nominated since 2006 she just came back as much as I love her CG the story does not work because Cassie/Mariah should be 14 years older then the spawn Summer and they are portraying Noah as older and he was about eight years old when Cassie died.
PLSE. do your homework . 2013.. Best young actress awards…Kristen Alderson .General Hospital Hunter King…Y & r…Jacqueline MacInnes Wood B & B.. Lindsey Morgan General Hospital. The winner Kristen Alderson G.H. Best younger actress 2014.. Hunter King Y & R..Kristen Alderson G.H. ..Linsey Godfrey B& B..Kim Matula B & B.. Kelley
Got cut off Kelly Missal one life WINNER HUNTER KING . How could she even have a hope in hell of being nominated over Kim Matula ,Linsey Godfrey or even Kristen Alderson. Check it out Best young actress 2013 & 2014.
Please for all that is sacred keep this actress away from Rick they have no chemistry she and TK are off the charts with it and I don’t care that there is 20 year difference in their ages. Age as my sister says is just a number
My humble apology (the Substitute) Camryn Grimes was not nominated last year (should have been) Kim Matula, Kristen Alderson, Hunter King &Linsey Godfrey. The only competition she had really was Kristen Alderson . Linsey should have won but they gave it to that H.K. Summer Y & R.
Someone once told me that comedy does not go over well with voters and LG’s reel last year was comedy.
I guess everyone has an opinion. I always thought Kristen Alderson would have made a great Summer Newman. JMO
Nikki you know what you do not owe me an apology I have tough skin I can give as good as I get! I am in shock that Camryn Grimes is not up this year but hey Beverlee McKinsey one of the greats never won an Emmy. I keep telling people but hey no one listens to me it is sheer politics like everything else and most people who are really good at their craft do not need a fake pat on the back .
Oh but you do owe me for a new flat screen in my office because I threw a shoe at it today for sitting and watching Cady McClain do that gosh awful scene today. What is going on? She is a good actress this was pure camp!
Pity noms don’t work for me.
Substitute: Ha Ha I thought Cady was great today. She really plays the roll of a crazy lady well. Just look at her eyes! If I was Jack I’d be watching my P & Q with her. He already got thumped on the head and she called it love. I agree I loved the late Iris Carrington. Every time she went after Rachael I thought one of them would die. That was my all time favorite soap. I didn’t know she never won. I think all the actors/actress get to put in their reels but the producers pick which they are going to use, & it depends on who they like best. Politics Politics like Ronald Regan once said ” Politics are like dirty diapers and need to be changed every so often for the same reason! B.S.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
