B&B’s Matthew Atkinson On Gaining Custody of Douglas: “Thomas Just Wants to Take His Rightful Place”

On The Bold and the Beautiful, Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) wants to be more of an active father to his son, Douglas (Django Ferri), who has been living with Hope (Annika Noelle) and Liam (Scott Clifton).
When confronted with this news, Hope is not too happy, because she could lose being mother to the little boy, who she has come to love as her own.

In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest (on newsstands now), Atkinson shared on the story: “Thomas just wants to take his rightful place. He’s not saying they are no longer a family. It’s just the opposite. He’s not prying Douglas away from Hope. He knows Douglas has bonded with Hope, Liam and Beth, and he believes they can all make it work.”
The question is, will Thomas resort to extreme measures as he has in the past to get what he wants, or will he work this out with Hope and Liam?
Check out the latest promo for this week’s action on B&B below.
Now let us know, do you want Thomas to have more of a relationship with his son, Douglas? Should the boy live between all three ‘parents’? Should Douglas fight for solo custody? Comment below.
Well I knew it would not last long!!! Brad just pulling storylines out of the air and dropping them. We are also Ridge Brooke and Taylor again!!! Please no more so bye again Brad down to 0 soaps which is sad but just bored with recycled trash
Why would he go thru all that hoopla giving Hope custody and signing all those papers to want it reverse everything
On the other hand I can see why they sorased Douglas character for this storyline……..
Bring back the Hope doll! This B&B storytelling is tiresome. Characters grow but never evolve. Everyone is so sanctimonious yet guilty of as much or more of what they accuse others. It is difficult to root for anyone here. If they are not just stupid, they are loathsome. This is supposed to be a high class family in a high glass world. I don’t feel it much anymore.
Thomas should not even be given custody of a goldfish after what he did to Hope
Douglas is Thomas’ son. Hoep does NOT have the right to make final decisions for Douglas’ life. Thomas gave her leeway but enough is enough.
Thomas just wants to take his rightful place really sit down Thomas you’re a hot mess under this writing when Pierson Rode played Thomas the character was a hero and upstanding guy this Thomas is written as an emotional cripple who shouldn’t have custody of a Barbie and ken doll set
Richard
I get what you are saying. The writers turned him into a wreck so he’d gave to give his son away, so to speak. He is better now and in a better position to be with and raising his own son. Why should Hope get to keep this kid she isn’t even related to in order to keep her daughter amused or whatever comment she made yesterday. Sorry, blood is thicker than water and Thomas should not have to go to court to get his own son back.
I do agree with you but why do I feel like the writers will have him go off the rails again he is the one who started the domino theory with steffy and finn by listening to Sheila
Richard
I agree on all counts but I do feel that in his present state, Thomas needs to be raising his own son, not just for himself but for both of them. There are plenty of family members to help care for the boy !if Thomas goes off the rails again. That boy should be visiting Hope and her family not visiting his own dad.
Violet…On paper re bio father maybe he should have his son back. But there is no long-standing redemption stories on soaps. Look at what they are doing with another screwup, Deacon.. So maybe visitation rights can change so Thomas gets more time with him, but for consistency and stability in his life he should stay with the Hope/Liam/sister family. I don’t trust that Thomas won’t revert to some of his old bad mental problems.
rose,
I guess we can’t agree on this one. I feel Thomas has now become the stable and responsible person he needs to be to raise his own son. How can you even compare Deacon and Thomas? Look at Deacon today and years ago, he never changes, he shouldn’t even have to think twice about harboring
and Douglas Sheila. Sorry, got off track. I just feel that Douglas shouldn’t be kept from his dad and family.
He isn’t even related to Hope and her clan and there are plenty of his own family ready and willing to help Thomas with Douglas wen and if need be.
.
Thomas should get his son back and he should have full custody Douglas will still get to see Hope and Hope will get to spend time with Douglas but it’s past time and Douglas needs his dad
Boy, how about that little meeting with Taylor and Brooke showing up unannounced. I can’t stand either one of these hags but Brooke telling Taylor that she wouldn’t ALLOW Thomas to take his own son back was something else.
I’d love seeing these two in a real knockdown, drag out fight. The worst of it is the Booby Prize they are really fighting over!
Don’t these people work anymore??!! They show them from home to home wandering around arguing with each other about who should be with whom?! They used to show them working much more before & the only ones who stop by the office are Ridge, Eric & Zende & Quinn/Carter when they don’t play hoodie! Isn’t Finn active at the hospital yet?
I hope Sheila gets royally creamed somehow. I like the new Taylor. I’m only a 4-5 year vet but Brooke’s “I will not allow” line makes me cringe. The new Douglas stinks. He needs to go back to acting class. Not likable. Put Thomas back to head designer & Hope & Steffy’s lines show more clothes. Do they not have an actor for Beth??
Maybe Bill & Li will hook up since Katie doesn’t want anyone in her life. Glad Paris & Zoe are missing in action!!
AJH
You make a lot of good points. They had a toddler girl one day, playing Beth, hated the camera and would only cling to Hope for dear life.
I was wondering myself if Liam ever gos to work or just sits around with Brooke all day trying to figure out how to stick it to Thomas. Iam so sick of the whole show, but I just can’t stop watching.I hear something really good is coming up with Ridge and if true will really upset everyone’s apple cart, so I’ll hang in there.
did thomas not give douglas a gift of a knife a month or so ago when he first came home and at a party…

Get ready for the feuding soap opera divas, when five actresses known for their signature primetime and daytime roles are brought together in Lifetime’s new holiday film, Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas.
Saturday night, December 2nd on Lifetime (8pm ET/7PM CT) marks the highly-anticipated holiday movie premiere featuring: Donna Mills (ex-Knots Landing), Nicolette Sheridan (ex-Knots Landing), Morgan Fairchild (ex-Falcon Crest et al), Linda Gray (ex-Dallas) and Loni Anderson (ex-WKRP in Cincinnati).
Here’s what we do know! In story, five alums from the long-running soap, The Great Lakes reunite for a live Christmas finale. Uh-oh! Now take a look at the backstory of the colorful cast of characters (pay special attention to the clever twists on the actresses names!)

LAUREN EWING (Linda Gray) “Everyone thinks I’m so damn good all the time,” confesses the junk food-loving Lauren of her second act as a lifestyle guru. “I don’t know how Gwenyth Paltrow does it!”
DANA CUNNINGHAM (Donna Mills) Now a sitcom mom, she’s yet to make amends to ex-bestie Juliette after abruptly leaving the soap back in the day. Not that she hasn’t tried: “When I thought the world was going to end in Y2K,” Dana says, “I reached out to her, and she never called me back.”
LILY MARLOWE (Loni Anderson) After replacing Dana on ‘Great Lakes’, Lily never again found a role to win her acclaim. “What do I have to show for (my career)? An arc on For the People – Shonda Rhimes’ only flop!”
JULIETTE MATHESON (Nicollette Sheridan) “She left me for L.A.,” the party girl turned fashion mogul recalls of Dana’s betrayal. Will their feud derail the entire event?
MARGEAUX ROBERTS (Morgan Fairchild) “Fasten your face-lifts, ladies, it’s gonna be a bumpy weekend!” The sassy grande dame of ‘Great Lakes’ sees the Juliette-Dana beef as the perfect escape from her own domestic drama.

Now, making this all the more hysterical is the director of The Great Lakes reunion special, which makes the five women live under the same roof, is its former child star Alex, who has gotten his ex-girlfriend, Nell to direct the finale. Meanwhile, in the subplot. the ‘Ladies of the ’80s’ come up with a plan to get Alex and Nell back together.
As with any good soap opera, there is a major food fight. Linda Gray shared with USA Today ,”The food fight was one take. And it was fabulous.” And of course, their is a bitch-fest slap-fest. Morgan Fairchild revealed, “Oh honey, we all got ours in. Mine was a simple, ‘How dare you?’ with a slap. But I was hoping for a punch.”

The movie’s EP, Larry Thompson, who is a Hollywood manager and has Donna Mills as a client, said that the entire scene peaks with the”slapfest coup de grâce.” What is that exactly? That is when Donna Mills pushes Nicollette Sheridan into a pool in a nod to Dynasty’s Lily bond battle between Dynasty’s Alexis (Joan Collins) and Krystle (Linda Evans).
In case you missed it previously, check out the trailer for Ladies of the ’80s: A Divas Christmas below, also starring Patrika Darbo, Alec Mapa, Mills real-life daughter, Chloe Mills, and Christopher Atkins with theme song by Tiffany.

Like clockwork, Mona runs into her ex, Fletcher (Ronnie Rowe Jr.), and old sparks reignite. But wait! Mona has another suitor in Dez (Jamie Callica), a reporter doing a story on the Sinclair family. Who will Mona ultimately kiss under the mistletoe?
Mishael who resides in both Toronto and Los Angeles, was able to be part of this latest holiday movie near her Canadian backyard as it was shot in Milton, Ontario back in October.
