This week, the cast, crew and creatives of CBS’ Beyond the Gates celebrated the taping of the freshman soap opera’s 200th episode. The series made its debut earlier this year on February 24, 2025 and became the historic first hour-long Black-led daytime drama.

Taking to social media (which we have to give kudos to the actors for this as they are very active on their X, IG  and Tiktok accounts) the cast and more acknowledged this milestone in grand fashion.

The series, which is shot in Atlanta at Assembly Studios, will be wrapping production on season one shortly. Episodes from season one will continue to air throughout the end of 2025. Meanwhile, production will begin on season two after a brief hiatus. Those episodes are slated to air in 2026. Take a look below at some of the celebratory remarks for #BTG200!

Michele Val Jean, series creator and head writer, expressed via X on the series latest milestone, “To my Beyond the Gates family: can you believe we shot episode 200 today?! I’m so grateful for every single one of you and I love you all with my whole heart. Thank you for your talent, commitment and dedication. Here’s to the next 200.”

Ambyr Michelle (Eva) took to Instagram with a video message which said and read, “We officially made it to 200 episodes! God is sooo amazing!! Here’s to 2,000 more! And BEYOND that!!!” She added, “Although there’s no ‘wrapping’ in the Soap World — we’re honored to go into episode 201. Stay Tuned!!!”

Lauren Buglioli (Vanessa) expressed as she danced on her Instagram post, “Beyond grateful to be shimmying into episode 200 of @beyondthegatescbs! could not love this cast, crew and creative team more. thank you to everyone who’s watching and supporting the show! we love you (and your memes that are MEMEinggg)”

Jon Lindstrom (Joey) shared on X, “Joey Armstrong. I only say it once. And if I call for you, don’t make me wait.’ Having such a damn good time playing this terrific character, on a terrific show, that happens to be a terrifically big hit. These things don’t come along every day, you know. Happy 200th episode!”

Colby Mohammed (Kat) along with Brandon Claybon (Martin)  danced it out on her Instagram account sharing,”We finished filming TWO. HUNNID. EPISODES! Insane. Feeling blessed and excited to start filming season two! Can ya’ll feel the excitement from the cast and crew?!”

Photo: CBS

Sean Freeman (Andre) leapt for joy on his Instagram post, expressing, “Yooo! We did it!!! Andre Richardson has successfully completed the 1st 200 episodes one of BTG!! My 1st series regular role (main cast) on daytime television. Lord u have been so faithful & your grace has been sufficient. NOTE: We don’t have “seasons” in the soap world, but here’s to the next 200, and beyond! LFGOOO”

Keith D. Robinson (Ted), along with Tamara Tunie (Anita), Daphnee Duplaix (Nicole) and more took to X and expressed, “Happy 200th Episode to the amazing cast and crew of Beyond the Gates!”

Karla Mosley (Dani) posted on Instagram, “It’s giving 200 episodes in the can, baby… You know what that means? IT’S GO TIME!!!!!”

Jen Jacob (Ashley) shared on Instagram, “200 episodes later and I am not the girl I started this show as. Ashley has grown me so much. There were days I showed up to work not recognizing myself. For good and for bad…but all growth. All a test to keep getting better. Stronger. More compassionate. Having faith in and patience with myself. It’s a pretty unbelievable thing to be able to witness dreams coming true all around you. To be fully present in knowing the experience you’re living is a big core life change—for everyone. And to do it among people I whole heartedly respect, learn from and aspire to be more like each day? What a gift. This cast and crew and creative team are truly lightening in a bottle.⚡️ CBS Studios, thank you for believing in us and letting the story continue to unfold. Can’t wait to see where Ashley takes me next.”

Jibre Hordges (Jacob) took to Instagram with, “200 episodes in the books! Wow. This journey has been everything I dreamed of. Don’t get me wrong, getting here wasn’t easy. Having to remember 30/40 pages of new dialogue everyday, basically doing a play a day, after 200 episodes, it’s a lot! But it makes it that much more gratifying when you’re living your dream, making a living from doing what you love so it never feels like “work”, knowing you’re inspiring the world each and every day on the number 1 television network. That’s the best feeling } Thankful to God for receiving that call back in October that this will be my new life. I haven’t stopped smiling since! I’m taking the next 2 weeks and getting back to traveling the world because after 10 months of hard work, I’m about to enjoy this Most importantly, thank y’all! For showing love and supporting the show. Keep tuning in because Season 2 is loading.”

Ashley Jones Joins the Cast of Beyond the Gates

Ashley Jones is the newest addition of CBS daytime’s Beyond the Gates.  The veteran soap actress has posted some teasey Instagran stories revealing the intel; especially her latest wearing a Beyond the Gates emblazoned robe while in her dressing room.

As to who Jones is playing that is still hush-hush. Ashley follows other former daytime notables to Fairmont Crest which have included Greg Vaughan (ex-DAYS, Y&R, GH) and Jordi Vilasuso (ex-Y&R, AMC, DAYS and GL).

A spokesperson for Beyond the Gates confirmed the news to Soap Opera Digest expressing, “We can confirm Ashley Jones will be appearing in Beyond the Gates.” It should be noted: Beyond the Gates does tape four months ahead of air.

Soap fans first met Ashley when she played Megan Dennison on The Young and the Restless (1997-2000). She then went on to The Bold and the Beautiful to play Bridget Forrester in her initial run from 2004-2010 and since then making recurring appearances throughout the next 15 years. In addition, Jones appeared on General Hospital in the role of Parker Forsyth from 2016-17.

Earlier this week, Beyond the Gates was renewed for two more consecutive seasons its 3 and 4th by CBS, giving the youngest soap on the air, a big confidence boost. The series debuted back on February 24, 2025 as the first hour-long Black-led soap opera, and which tapes in Atlanta, Georgia instead of Los Angeles, California.

CBS Renews ‘Beyond the Gates’ for Seasons 3 and 4

Published

By

Congratulations are in order for daytime’s newest drama series, Beyond the Gates. Today on April 15, the soap opera was officially renewed by CBS for two more seasons, its 3 and 4th.

The network revealed the renewal pick-up at a press briefing led by CBS Entertainment President, Amy Reisenbach. That show of faith takes the soap through the 2027-2028 television and streaming season, while the soap currently continues to air its second season.

Beyond the Gates creator, head writer and executive producer, Michele Val Jean took to X following the news of the pick-up and expressed her gratitude, sharing, “So this happened. Thank you to everyone involved, from the network to the crew, for the support, belief, hard work and dedication everyone has poured into this show. Beyond grateful.”

Photo: CBS

While Deadline was the first to break the news of the young soap opera’s latest accomplishment, Val Jean clarified that Tracey Thomson who is listed at the bottom of the article as one of the series executive producers along with Sheila Ducksworth, Julie Carruthers, Leon W. Russell, Derrick Johnson, Anna Saalfeld and Lela Coffey, is more than that.

Val Jean explained Thomson’s full involvement with Beyond the Gates, noting, “A credit egregiously missing on this article is Tracey Thomson’s. She’s been by my side cranking out these shows since episode 150. We just did 400. She’s my partner, my co-head writer and an executive producer and she deserves all the credit.”

Beyond the Gates is set in a leafy Maryland suburb just outside of Washington, DC, in one the most affluent African American counties in the United States; a posh gated community with winding tree-lined streets and luxurious mansions to call home. At the center of this community are the Duprees, a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family that is the very definition of Black royalty. But behind these pristine walls and lush, manicured gardens are juicy secrets and scandals waiting to be uncovered. And those who live outside these gates are watching closely. These are the places where our characters live, love, work and play. Those who have “made it” and those who haven’t are all trying to navigate life … and some with more grace than others.

The cast is led by the Duprees played by Tamara Tunie, Clifton Davis, Karla Mosley, and Daphnee Duplaix along with Brandon Claybon, Mike Manning, Trisha Mann-Grant, Ambyr Michelle, Colby Nixon, Arielle Prepetit, Sean Freeman, Timon Kyle Durrett, RhonniRose Mantilla, Keith D. Robinson. Jon Lindstrom, and more round out the cast.

So, excited to hear Beyond the Gates is keeping on keepin’ on with two more seasons coming your way after the completion of its current season? Let us know via the comment section. But first, check out our recent conversation on the Michael Fairman Channel with series stars Tamara Tunie, Sean Freeman, Clifton Davis and EP Sheila Ducksworth via the comment section below .
