BEYOND THE GATES: Leslie Reveals Her Alter-Ego “Sherry Carter” as She Ramps Up Her Revenge Plot on Ted and Nicole
Ted Richardson (Maurice Johnson) isn’t as squeaky clean as some might have initially thought, when it is revealed on the Monday, March 10th episode of Beyond the Gates, that he indeed had an extra-marital affair with Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) and paid her off to keep her mouth shut about it.
Problem is: Leslie has taken revenge to a whole new level, in particular, with wanting to let Ted know that he has a daughter with her, Eva (Ambyr Michelle)! But many viewers are questioning and pondering, is Eva just being completely used by Leslie? Could it be she is not really his daughter?
As the action picks up, a woman named “Sherry” aka Leslie is on the hospital rooftop about to jump. She is in “emotional distress” over the loss of her husband. She wanted noted psychiatrist, Nicole Dupree Richardson, to help her, which finds them both on the roof with Nicole trying to talk “Sherry” down from the ledge. Eventually, “Sherry” takes Nicole’s hand and they agree to head down to Nicole’s office to talk things out.

When they come out of the elevator, Ted sees that it’s Leslie, and Leslie even sneaks in a “gotcha” wink to Ted, who is livid at her presence. Once inside Nicole’s office, Ted listens at the door. “Sherry” goes in on why she became depressed. It happened after her husband left and mentions that he and his new wife live right in the same town. As Ted listens in, “Sherry” says she would love to see the look on his face, when after everything he did to her, she wins! Nicole gives her a list of therapists to see and “Sherry” exits.
Ted catches up to Leslie and demands to know what she is doing here. He paid her off years ago! Ted adds, “How much do I have to pay to make you go away?” Leslie fires back he owes her respect. She is ready to tell Nicole about their relationship. Ted says, “If you ever come for my wife again, I will destroy you.” Leslie thinks her “Teddy Bear” needs a good therapist, himself.

Later, Leslie returns to the rooftop and is talking with Eva on the phone about her night. Leslie revealed she came up with an alter-ego “Sherry Carter” and spoke to both Ted and Nicole. Eva is worried that Leslie has taken things too far too soon. Leslie said she needed to check out the situation for herself and that she can’t wait for Ted to find out he has a daughter!
So, what did you think about Leslie’s little charade? Is she giving you “Sheila Carter” vibes as “Sherry Carter?” Will she become more unhinged, or do you see Leslie remaining in control and playing Ted for all he is worth and then some? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
If the writers didn’t want make this any clearer, she basically shouted from the rooftop literally I’m the villain of this show like the Old Sheila Carter from The Young and The Restless and The Bold and The Beautiful ❤️
This chick is bat crazy!
Trisha Mann-Grant did some excellent work in Monday’s episodes. Cannot wait to see how things unravel as we head into the coming weeks. Three-weeks in and this soap has not let up on the drama. I am loving it.
Trisha Mann-Grant is doing an excellent job playing a villainess!
She sure is! She’s soooo out there, but then you also have to laugh. lol
Yes, first thing I did was think of Sheila Carter and if this similar name is any indication, Leslie will be an exciting villain like Sheila.
Love the actress playing Leslie and this storyline. Hilarious when she called Ted “Teddy … Teddy Bear” and the “hypocrite oath”!

TUNE-IN: ‘Beyond the Gates’ Banneker Homecoming Episodes, EP Sheila Ducksworth Speaks on Impact HBCUs Have in Real Life

As previously reported, kicking off today, is a two-part Beyond the Gates, when The Duprees gather to celebrate Banneker University’s homecoming weekend.
The producers and writers are taking an opportunity to spotlight the rich traditions of the long-held tradition of attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) through its fictional university.
The episodes are today on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on Friday, October 2 and next week on Monday, October 5, where in true Beyond the Gates fashion, there will be some surprising drama that ensues when someone shows up!

BANNEKER REFLECTS THE IMPORTANCE OF HBCUS
Sheila Duckworth, (executive producer, Beyond the Gates) spoke to Soaps.com to give some insight on the decision for the series to illustrate the ties that bind with HBCUs.
“It was important that we have this school as almost a character on our canvas, right from the beginning. Beyond even education, HBCUs have been pivotal when it comes to everything from economic progression and fostering a sense of community to the development of leadership skills,” explained Ducksworth. “From the beginning, we wanted to illustrate that what the Duprees are able to do in the world was a direct reflection of the impact HBCU’s have in real life.”
EVERYTHING HAS ITS PURPOSE
The EP talked about how purposeful the elements that integrate Banneker into the overall story of Beyond the Gates are including: the Dupree family door knocker that is a lion, the mascot for the fictional university, plus, the upcoming fight song that the cast will sing together on the Monday, October 5 episode, and the painting the hangs at Fairmont Crest.
That portrait of Vernon Dupree’s (Clifton Davis) father, George Cheeks Dupree, that hangs prominently at the country club, was named after CBS executive George Cheeks (now Chairman of TV and Media, Paramount), and as Ducksworth says of the legacy of Vernon’s father, “He was the architect of Fairmont Crest.”
So, are you looking forward to these episodes honoring HBCU traditions with the Dupree and the Richardson clans? What surprises do you think might be in store come next week? Let us know via the comment section below.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL
Over at B&B, the soap remained in second place behind sister soap, The Young and the Restless for the top spot in total viewers; although it should be noted they continued to close the gap for the race to #1. For the ratings period, The Bold and the Beautiful average 2,695,000 tuning-in, but was down week-over-week -83,000, but with the biggest soap gains year-over-year at this time with +228,000.

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
Once again, Y&R remained as the number one most-viewed broadcast television daytime drama of then all, clocking in with 3,059,000 tuning-in, but down -130,000 week-over-week, but still up + 159,000 year-over-year.
